It's been awhile since we bought our 1st Bimmer!

We're not the type who'd be driving a Bimmer, heck, I wasn't even sure we'll be driving one, we just wanted to go TRY ONE out.  Go see what they have, test drive, and leave.  That's all!

Instead, we ended up taking one home.  We wanted a gray one, to match with all our cars. Earlier, a decade ago, we all have white cars, lined up in our driveway, and one by one given them away to our sons. OK, this one is not white nor gray, instead we got one that looks like a  .. . . bumble bee!  It must have been the way we were served. They have one of the best customer service, and we've been buying and pressured with cars during our decades of buying & selling.  Yep, it must have been the customer service, that made us want to own our 1st Bimmer.  We also have our photo taken in front of our new found love, as the proud owner.

Funny, I guess, if it was meant to be, and this was meant for US.  When we first got it, people turn heads. Younger children, even those much, much older than us turn heads.  We try to read their expressions, but they always have a smile with that look.

P.S. Oldest son owns 3 Bimmers from the same dealer! It's work related!  We should have gotten a free lunch or a meal, at least for recommending a new customer, huh!

I was where a while back helping my aunt busy a new car, our sales girl was super sweet. We ended up getting the car at a good price.

My first service appointment with Kuni BMW was not oil change, but a tire service that is under the road hazard warranty. The service guys took thread depth measurement and told me that the tire has no warranty in the first communication and if I pay full price they will replace it right the way. I argued with them and involved the goodyear manufacturer support center, then Kuni BMW service changed the story by saying that my tire has 50% thread life left and I have to pay 50% after the adjustment. I took the measurement myself with a thread depth guage and found it has 90% of remaining thread life so it should be under free tire replacement warranty. I later confim this fact with Goodyear service center and they agreed to replace the tire for free. Kuni BMW service needs a tune up and remove the parts of dishonest and unprofessional practices.

This is a review written for the service department.

A few months ago I purchased a BMW. Kuni BMW is the closest & most convenient shop to my house, being just a few miles away. After reading through some reviews online, I felt confident in bringing in my newly acquired 5 series to them for a basic $99 oil change.

I was greeted by a different service writer than I had originally spoken to on the phone. I asked that my E39's oil be changed with synthetic oil, and re-iterated several times to the service writer that my car has only seen synthetic oil since it was purchased CPO from Rasmussen.

The service writer told me the wait would be about 45 minutes to an hour. After waiting in the lobby for two whole hours (the wireless internet is slow btw) without word, I went back into the office, and inquired when I should expect my car to be done.

Chris Wright, the service writer I had originally spoke with on the phone told me the bill was just $83.98 after originally being quoted $99. I found that to be odd and further looked into the invoice, as my car takes 8 quarts of oil. I was charged just $2.95 a quart. They put dino oil into my car after I explicitly asked for synthetic. During my initial phone call with Chris I also asked for synthetic. This is where things got tricky for me.

I pointed out the situation to Chris, and first he said "Yes our 15/40 motor oil is dino". Then I told him again that I had asked for synthetic. He said he would call the master technician right then and there for me.  He proceeded to pull out his cell phone and make the call. In all honesty, I believe He pretended or faked that anyone was on the other line talking back to him. He then said to me, "well, turns out or 15/40 is synthetic oil." I asked him if he was sure, because I was only charged $2.95 a quart, making that the best deal EVER on synthetic oil. Napa house brand is something close to $5.00 a quart.

I left with a bad taste in my mouth, feeling extremely uncertain about the entire situation. I decided to call up Chris once I got home. He picked up and said that he would ask his head tech again right away and get back to me within a half hour. Long story short, I tried again for the next three hours to get back to Chris after he didn't return my phone call within even the first hour. I finally got a hold of Chris, after several hours of trying to reach him. He said he became too busy, but that he'd ask first thing in the morning at 8AM and call me then.

Long story short, Chris couldn't find the time to call me until 10AM. At this point my attitude had become quite sour. He exclaims that he still didn't ask the tech, but finally admits to fault and that they didn't put the right type of oil in it in and that they want to make it right. He also said that dino oil wouldn't hurt my car which is a highly debated argument among automotive enthusiasts.
    - This is all I was asking of Him in the first place! But it took hours of me wasting time to get that from him.

I fire up my car -note - I have driven less than 3 miles since my "service". I go 100 yards, the check engine light comes on, and the engine begins to misfire horribly. At this point I am livid. I roll up, heated, but keeping my composure I don't blow my cool or yell. I tell Chris that Kuni surely don't want to see any car leave the service bay and have the CEL light come on within three miles! He said they will investigate the problem, but that he is certain the two problems aren't related

The coilpacks and spark plug banks were saturated with oil. Clean, dino oil. I have no doubt they overfilled my car, and leaked out of the seeping valve cover gaskets. $198.00 later my car finally has the oil change I was after in the first place (that's $281.98 now). I was quoted an astonishing $862.64 cents for the valve cover gaskets to be replaced. I had not only the valve covers, but also spark plugs replaced by an ASE certified shop for a third of that cost.

                                                       -Shame on you Kuni-
You have not just tainted a single customer, but my entire network of friends and family many of whom own BMW's.

Cliff Notes - Car goes in for oil change, service writer gives bad communication & lies, car comes out of service worse than it went in.

This review is for their service department.

I was going to take my out of warranty 5 series for an oil change to Rasmussen only to be potentially charged $230 for other service that the service advisor made me think I needed but ended up not buying his upsell.

I asked around and Kuni quoted me only for the oil change of $99.95 without any additional fees.

Kuni rocks as they are much more professional and cost conscious for the consumer.

I just recently bought a 128i from them and love their customer service.  I can come in anytime and get a car wash.  Granted it may be an hour wait but you have free wifi and a great lounge area to work or relax.

After 6 years, two leases, two end of lease buy outs and everything in between, I'll go back and recommend KUNI to anyone who asks.  In conversations I have had with other BMW owners; I have yet to hear anyone voice a complaint or even a rumor of a complaint.

Wally was the first sales person I ever spoke with 6 years ago and he has maintained an excellent working relationship throughout.  He has been helpful beyond my expectations and has always been my go to guy.  This may sound a bit weird but he set the stage so I could drive my new 328i right off the show room floor...minor I know, but a serious touch of class and a moment I will remember for quite some time.

He has coordinated things behind the scenes so that I could get in and out with minimal inconvenience and he has always responded quickly to emails and phone calls. I cannot speak to the other members of the sales staff but if this is KUNI's standard, no reasonable customer will be disappointed.

When my lease was due for maintenance or need minor repairs, I was always in and out within minutes loners were always available and ready when I arrived.

While I don't expect my 328i to need replacing any time soon, (they are dang near bullet proof) when the time does come...I'll be ringing Wally's phone and heading back to KUNI.

What a bunch of thieves! I will never give my business to Kuni ever again! I could not be more unhappy with my experience at this shop. After spending THOUSANDS of dollars to fix a problem that was causing my car to overheat (and waiting in the waiting room for 5 HOURS being assured they were only 30min away from an answer as to WHY it was overheating) I drove off the lot feeling like I'd been taken advantage of, but hoping that I could trust that Kuni had done an exceptional job. I was wrong. Not even a month later I was back at the shop because my engine was leaking coolant due to a cracked tube - something that should have been caught BEFORE I drove it off the lot a month ago. Afterall, Kuni had insisted on keeping my car a FULL WEEK just to put it through various "tests."
When I complained to the service guy that I had just invested tons of money into the car AT THAT VERY SHOP and that this was an unfortunate mistake that Kuni shouldn't have missed and should remedy, he assured me that the tube would be replaced - FOR AN ADDITIONAL $400! I called another mechanic who offered to fix it for $85!
As far as I'm concerned, Kuni feels like they are able to charge outrageous prices for their "great service" because they are large and renowned, but in reality, I would go so far as to call them all a bunch of crooks. I've been robbed - pure and simple. If you love your hard earned money as much as you love your BMW, TAKE IT ELSEWHERE!

I was happy to experience what seemed to be genuine people after dealing with a bunch of the typical used car salesman types at other dealerships. Everything was done well and right. They took a week longer to get my plates to me than the temporary registration sticker on the windshield covered, so they sent me a check to cover my buying an additional 3 day permit for the used toyota sienna I bought from these guys. i would recommend them. Well done Kuni.

I'd drop 5 stars on Kuni except for one minor detail.  And, the devil's in the details, right?  I'd give 'em 4.5 stars if I could.

The good stuff first - the showroom's immaculate.  I enjoy shopping in their boutique.  Yes, it's called a boutique.  The guys at the parts counter are to be commended as well.  Hint: become a member of BMW CCA and enjoy a substantial discount on some of the parts.  The waiting area is extraordinarily comfortable, with cable tv on a big screen and a couple side screens which display a feed of the service bays.  I found myself mesmerized by the service bay displays as opposed to anything that was on cable.

My one (half) star deduction comes for the after-hours service crew.  I've taken my M3 in to Kuni more than once for service.  All but 1 of those times I've had to drop the car off at the service department after the service department's been closed.  The kid checking people in and out on the occasions I've been there seemed disinterested and annoyed that I was there.  I didn't catch his name.  On a different visit, another young guy checked out my service loaner to me.  The rental I got on this particular evening was a 335i sedan.  He made sure to point out to me that the 335i is a faster car (in a straight line) than mine.  Now, I'm taking this a bit out of context, but my point is that I thought it was weird that he felt compelled to make that statement to me.  Incidentally, for what it's worth, I verified that the 335i is, indeed, faster in a straight line than my E46 M3 :D

I realize I'm being picky.  But, I just always expect to be amazed at the experience at Kuni.  Don't get me wrong, the times I've been there during normal business hours have been exemplary.  In fact, they were extremely accommodating to me when I stopped by unexpectedly for an oil change a few months back.  My service advisor is always timely with communication and costs.  It's just that my experience with the after-hours service crew kinda taints my overall opinion of the place.

Purchased my 2011 BMW 528i March 2011....What a bad experience..The salesman was a dishonest person..I cant imagine I am the only customer he has been less than truthful with..The GSM could careless..When I spoke with the GSM he didnt seem phased by the salesman's dishonesty....I would not recommend this Dealership..There was a customer in the waiting room having some work done on her car in service...She told me to go elsewhere...I should have listened to her....

I was impressed with KUNI's professional approach to selling me a preowned car. Unlike any other car lot I have been to KUNI was never pushy, sneaky or rude. Doug helped us for 2 months waiting until the proper deal was available.

The only reason I have not rated KUNI a 5 star is my car is not equipment with some "module" to make the keyless entry  system complete and when the car was brought in for some promised body work touch up, as promised, the job was finished only 95%.

Take a look at the service area and around the entire facility, professionalism at its BEST!! The service department and the loaner car department is great and efficient.

Reading the reviews I suspect their sales people wrote these, themselves!!

My experience: I've given this place a chance two times and WOW I've never had to deal with rude sales people so this extent anywhere else!! Last week Greg (Sales Associate) basically made sure that we will never go back to Kuni again.

This review is for Kuni's service department.  Took the X5 in to repair the adaptive headlights and power folding mirrors (post-warranty).  Came back later that day to expect a big bill.  Imagine my surprise when they said, "We're fixing these free of charge as a courtesy."  Wtf?!  Are you serious?!  Needless to say, I was very pleased and will continue going back to Kuni.

I am extremely impressed with the service and professionalism of this establishment. This is the only place I will take my BMW for service. The waiting area is comfortable with couches, tables, and a snack bar. They also have a big screen TV and free Wi-Fi. They always finish my car at a reasonable time and when I get my car back they always wash it for me. Plus my service guy Jason put new windshield wipers without me even asking. There are also monitors in the waiting area so you can see them service your car. The staff is extremely friendly, nice and polite.
