Review from Nicole H.
Dallas, TX
My boyfriend and I went tonight because of a Groupon deal and would definitely go back! It's a bit hard to find/oddly located, as other reviewers have indicated, as it's in the southwest corner of a 2-level strip mall.
Once we got inside we were very impressed. Nice atmosphere, good waitstaff, and incredibly creative rolls. We ordered the Philadelphia, volcano, spicy tuna, and Love Love rolls. I didn't try the Philadelphia and volcano as I'm more of a raw fish person, but the boyfriend really enjoyed them. I loved my spicy tuna and the Love Love roll. Love Love is one of their specialty rice-less rolls and is salmon, crab, and avocado wrapped in rice paper and tuna. Delicious! The spicy tuna, one of my standby rolls, was also quite tasty, with a nice spicy sauce, not the pasty sauce found at some places. All the fish I had was quite fresh and never felt or smelled off. We also had the miso soup as part of the deal and, maybe because I'm not a huge miso person ( I can take it or leave it), I wouldn't say it was the best miso I've ever had. My boyfriend seemed to like it more than me, as he finished mine and his.
Prices are a little higher than I would do for my weekly sushi outing, but as a date night place, Ku is definitely high on the list! -

My husband and I visited Ku last night for the first time after finding it on Yelp. The food, atmosphere, and service are amazing.
Try the "Sexie Roll". No rice, wrapped in lettuce, it is to die for and not incredibly filling. The ambiance inside Ku is cozy and modern. We will definitely be back. -

Sooo delicious! Went there on a Friday night with two friends and a Groupon (teehee). Had to wait a little to be seated but it was worth it! Service was excellent (I love great service). Drinks refilled without having to ask, plates cleared away as soon as it was empty, and you can see the servers looking your way from time to time to check and see if you were doing alright.
Food was awesome (I love great food). Had the calamari - so delicious, jalapeno stuffed... can't remember what its called but it was delicious, ahi tuna tower was delicious, and a variety of their special rolls which were also very good. For three people: three bowls of miso, 2 appetizers, 4 special rolls, and 2-3 normal rolls.. the total was about $70? We eat more than normal people also, so I think it is *reasonably* priced for such good sushi and great service!
Will come again! -

For a neighborhood sushi place, this quick fix totally does the trick. From yummy sushi to tasty korean offerings, our whole family enjoy's Ku. It's my 6 year old son's favorite...right after anything with a good burger. But seriously, nice atmosphere and fresh food keep us coming back.

Dined here a few months ago, and don't really remember much about this place other than the fact that it was your standard rolls and nigirisushi. I don't think I need to say much more. The one other thing I remember is that they served Korean Soju! P Thumbs up for being probably the only place you can get soju outside of Ktown! I'll probably visit again just for that. Hopefully the next time I go I can get a better idea of their menu.

Review from Ryan M.
I'm not very familiar with Dallas (just some occasional travel) but this location seems like an odd place for a sushi bar. Tucked at the end of a strip mall, it was a bit hard to find based on Google Maps navigation.
But once I found it, I was so glad I did! Some of the best sushi and rolls I've had in some time. Their strongest offering is the range of rice-less rolls they offer. Just how I like sushi... lots of it and without the bloat-me-later rice fillers. The rolls do tend to be a bit smaller, but the lack of rice really helps the flavor combinations pop!
I'm planning another trip to Dallas soon, and this place is top of my list! -

Irving, TX
Solid 4 to 4.5 stars (yelp really needs to add a half star option!). Anyways, went here a few weeks ago with the gf for lunch and I was really impressed with the staff and quality of the food.
This place is a "nice" hole-in-the-wall type joint, located near the back of a shopping plaza across the st from whole foods. The decor is modern and well done, small place but seating is spaced properly. They have your typical japanese warm food and of course their variations of common sushi rolls. I actually ordered the tuna roll and a spicy tuna hand roll. Tuna roll was in traditional maki formation, seaweed outside, and the spicy tuna HR was tasty as well. My gf ordered the tempura udon which came with nicely fried tempura.
The prices are typical at what you see at mom and pop sushi places. Staff was friendly and professional. I'm definitely going back to try some of their unique rolls. -

I've been to Ku Sushi a few times, mostly because of the two Groupon deals they have had in the past year. Both times, I've enjoyed the experience and here is why.
The sushi is fresh. This, above any other fact, is the most important aspect to a sushi restaurant rating in my opinion. There was never a "fishy" smell to any of the food they have brought out for us. We had an ahi tuna tower on one of our date nights, and I can remember the balance of heat and flavor was perfect! Flavor and freshness get an A plus from me.
The atmosphere, while not allowing for a private date night, is very sleek when you consider the size of the space. If there was a way to make the dining experience a little more intimate as opposed to sharing your evening with a few of the other patrons (as you are inevitably going to hear the conversations going on right next to you) then I feel I would enjoy the decor a little more. As it is, the restaurant does it's best with what it has.
The service was prompt each time. Not overly intrusive, just there when you needed them and professional.
The only concern I have is with the price, but considering the quality of the sushi the price is understandable.
Overall, nice experience and would definitely go again. -

Dallas, TX
Went there last night based on the reviews I have seen on Yelp. I'm really torn about this place...
The Good -
1. The hidden location. Although the place is located in a strip shopping center...it's probably the best strip shopping center in Dallas for food (i.e. Mi Cocina, Rockfish, etc...).
2. The decor. It's dark in there...black walls, blue lighting, bigger tables. It's a good date place.
The Average -
1. The sushi. Some of the dishes were good and some were meh. One notable bad was the volcano roll - while very tasty was somewhat cool and I like the meat on top to be really heated.
2. Prices. I thought that the servings were a little light for what you paid for them.
3. The Service. I was very confused by who are actual server was as I think everybody in the restaurant came by our table at one time or another...the services was neither fast nor slow nor memorable (other than me being confused).
Overall comment - I'll go back to see if I was the exception to the reviews posted on yelp. It's a great date place as it's dark and fairly quiet to have a good conversation. -

While out shopping with Heather L. a couple of weekends ago, we both became famished and decided on ... SUSHI!!
I pulled up my trusty Yelp app and found the nearest sushi with best ratings...and Ku was the winner.
Now, I have been dieting and trying to stay away from a lot of carbs, and also from white rice/white bread/refined carbs -- so a place with brown rice or lower-carb options was great.
When we got there, they were very nice and welcoming. They brought us the hand towels and let us take our time ordering.
I ordered a miso soup to start, and then a house salad (with their ginger dressing)... and, when I was deciding what to order for my actual sushi entree, I realized they not only had brown rice options for the kitchen items, but that they had a few "riceless" sushi rolls!
I ordered the Kristy roll and the Rose roll -- both riceless. And OMG they were DELICIOUS!
So, I was able to leave there feeling satisfied, and proud that I didn't go off-plan, and ate healthy and enjoyed my lunch with my friend.
All in all, it was a perfect Saturday lunch. The place was empty except for us, which I would say was due to its being kinda "hidden" in the strip mall -- DUDE there's a TON of stuff in that strip mall!
I think if they advertise more, or get a big ridiculous light-up shiny moving sign, it would help them get more business -- and then people would come back over and over because of the service and the food.
I can't wait till my fiancé comes to visit -- I am definitely bringing him here! -

This place is the most unknown awesome sushi place in Dallas. That might be a bit of an exaggeration, but in a sushi restaurant-rich Dallas, it's in an odd place at Preston and Forest. We've all seen small, neighborhood sushi restaurants around Dallas that are average quality, and the passerby might think the same about Ku, but Ku is great! It's very popular among the residents of the neighborhoods over here, but a lot of people outside of the area don't know about it. But you should...
It's a small restaurant with nice, modern decor. The staff is very attentive and I don't think your water glass ever gets below a quarter glass. They love their foodies there, too. I've been going regularly here for almost a year now and they're always offering me new and different things to try. They often have a lot of hard to find wild fishes that are almost impossible to find at most of the more popular Dallas sushi places. The live scallop is wonderful when they have it! Make sure to ask for some fresh wasabi to add to your soy sauce.
As far as rolls are concerned, they have it all. Their 'special rolls' are all very creative and taste great. I especially like the rose and love love rolls. They're both riceless and very good. Panic roll and the yellowtail heaven (yellowtail sashimi with ponzu, jalapenos, and a dab of Siracha) will both satisfy the spice lover. Also try the new 'sexie' roll. It's wrapped with iceberg lettuce and pretty tasty.
I tend to order a lot of nigiri sushi and the fresh fish nigiri sushi combination is great for people that like to try new and different fishes. Of course you still have your standard tunas, salmons, etc. The quality of all fish is always good and fresh. I prefer to sit at the sushi bar here because they will cook you virtually anything Japanese if you ask. Not on the menu, but they do a good baby octopus tempura. This is one of my favorite dishes at Yutaka and Ku does it for half the price.
Menu stuff from the kitchen is generally good. They have a really good hamachi kama. Skip the udon. The broth doesn't have any flavor. A friend that refuses to eat sushi has had the steak there. He thought it was good. Served with vegetables. There's also a selection of tempura and other traditional Japanese cooked foods for those non-sushi eaters.
They do serve beer, wine, and sake. Selection of beer is pretty limited, but they have all the important Japanese beers. Selection of wine is pretty limited, too, but wine is far from my department.
You need to put Ku on your list of places to try if you haven't eaten there yet. I promise you won't be disappointed!Listed in: Lost in Translation, The Best of Dallas Restaurants

We have never been disappointed here! The sushi is delicious and fresh every time (we love the Ahi Tuna Tower and Volcano Roll). The servers and staff have been kind each time, which we so appreciate. We love the atmosphere-I in fact won't return to a place if they have good food but a terrible atmosphere. But their food is SOOO good!

I love this place because the riceless sushi just appeals to me, and it's really good. All the rolls taste different and unique. Another thing is that they have the yellowtail collar here...say what! I would go any day!

Houston, TX
This place was purdy good. The ambiance was nice - dark walls, dark floors and tables. So it was kinda cave-like, but modern and cool at the same time.
Celery and carrot sticks to nibble on waiting for you at the table...coolness.
I was wishing I could get one of everything because the rolls had really cool combinations of ingredients and made me super curious. Like, pumpkin? How does that fit into a sushi roll? Well, it does! The veggie roll was great and had about 7 things in it. I definitely recommend it. We wanted to try the Louisiana roll, but passed on it because my guy wanted the salmon and cream cheese. I'm not the "raw" fish type of gal, so I tried it, but wasn't a fan.
The bbq pork stir fry dish was great too. Spicy, but not watery-eye spicy and had veggies in it, cooked just right. The mushrooms could've been left out though. I love mushrooms, but these were bizarre. Gooey and soggy. No good. The pork was great though, nice n' tender.
Miso soup was good, but I've had better. The salad definitely needed some more stuff to it. It was only 3 kinds of lettuce. I'm a veggie eater, so I like a bit more junk in my bowl of salad.
The more specialized rolls looked and sounded awesome. When I get back to D-town, I'll stop in again.
Very limited outdoor seating, like 3 tables. -

Went here b/c of the reviews on Yelp and the sushi was good!!
Here is what I ordered:
beef gyoza- yummy
Dallas roll- really good
Louisiana roll- can't remember it, but I know I liked it.
Spicy tuna roll- Good
Philly roll- Good
Calamari roll- just okay
The prices are a little expensive but overall the sushi was really good and I definitely will be going back. -

I had a few non-sushi eating friends visit and wanted to make them try it. Based on the reviews from http://Yelp.com, I came to this place and I can't wait to go back. The atmosphere is very modern and swanky, which makes for a fun environment. You could be casual, but it's fit for a more uptown feel. Great place to have a business lunch.
The sushi was outstanding. Average special sushi roll cost was $14 per roll. Appetizers were extremely tasty! Try the stuffed jalapeños (delicious) or the Ahi Tuna Tower (served with three types of tiny caviares). Dallas Roll and Excalibur rolls seemed to be quite a hit with my guests too.
Overall, I'd definitely go again. Great sushi! -

Found this place because after hard day of work and wanted to treat myself to some Sushi. Since my old standby had closed, I needed to find a new place. Yelp found it nearby and knowing the area, I knew it could not be bad, it was excellent! Spicy Tuna and Candy Cane rolls, both melt in your mouth and as savory as you can imagine. I was truly surprised by the Agedashi Tofu appetizer - a description would not do it justice, just try it, even if you are not a tofu fan. The staff was friendly and kept making sure I knew what I was looking at as I took my time deciding on which rolls to have. This is my new go-to place for high quality sushi.

Review from Cali H.
Over-priced indeed. The special rolls were over-priced a tad bit, but average "special" rolls are $12-15 anyways. I wasn't surprised with the price. Good? yes... Would I go back? Yes. The place was nicely decorated. The waitstaff is attentive. They were literally standing to the side and waiting for you. Not close, but I noticed he waited by the sushi bar in case we needed him. They have blue-fin tuna which is hard for most restaurant to get. These fish can go up to $300,000 in auction... So don't be surprised if you are paying $36 for the sashimi. These fish are threaten and I'm sorry to say that they are delicious. :( I'm sorry!!! Definitely a new sushi place to check out.

Yelp, you've done it again and showed me another fabulous place to spend my hard earned money. After reading most of the reviews of Ku I decided I just had to go for dinner that same night. The place is a little small but was not packed for a Thursday evening. A sweet hostess lead us to a table where wet napkins and chopsticks were laid out for us and yes a small plate of celery and carrot sticks were brought out right after. Bizarre.
We started out with an order of the stuffed jalapenos ($5.50) which were "oh my god I want to slap someone" type of good. Ku takes two fresh jalapenos, hallows them out and stuffs them with crab, cream cheese and other amazing things and fries the little suckers. I think I'm going to order about 5 of these and just make it my meal next time. Next we ordered the spider roll ($8.50), Caribbean roll ($14.95), volcano roll ($14.95), spicy tuna roll ($7.25) and the panic roll ($12.95). My favorite was the Caribbean roll and I love the sauce that Ku pours over this roll, I could just lick the whole dang plate. All the others except the panic roll were just as delicious and fresh.
The staff and owner constantly checked in on us and refilled our waters before they were even half empty. A dinner for two costs us about $75 which is a little bit pricey for me but considering the great service, nice atmosphere and fresh food I would say Ku is a winner. -

Arlington, TX
Normally, strip mall sushi scares me. But given that this place was at the intersection of Preston & Forest, you figure it has to be pretty gringo safe. So, we went for lunch.
For an appetizer we had the appetizer plate ($14.95) and it was okay. The fried calamari was more like cheese stick breading over a chewy piece of calamari. Not great. However, the beef goyza was amazing. They brought out a full plate of it for us on accident and we dug it, something like $6.95 for 8 of 'em. Tender, flavorful steamed dumplings. Awesome.
Being unadventurous, we went for the Cherry Blossom and Snow White rolls, both pictured. I think they were around $10.95 and both packed with crazy flavors (and riceless).
Service was adequate, the atmosphere was great, and the food was on point for what I want out of sushi. I'd go back. -
Review from Mariko S.
Flower Mound, TX
A quick yelp search for sushi led us to Ku and I am glad it did... I haven't found a go-to sushi place in DFW, but will actually look forward to going here for a meal! My daughter wanted to try sushi so we started out with some "beginner" rolls - the California was better than most places and the tuna roll was okay... I tried to talk her into a spicy tuna roll, but couldn't... next time! However, the veggie rolls were a revelation:
Ku served me the best veggie sushi rolls I have ever had... it's 8:30 in the morning right now and I wish I had them for breakfast!
The first one had carrot, pickled radish, cucumber, avocado, asparagus and Japanese pickled pumpkin. The second was tempura-fried sweet potato, broccoli and onion with a sweet sauce. Don't pass these up!
Ku is located in a shopping center with 3 separate buildings and several busy restaurants. We circled the lot before finding it... -
Review from Joe F.
I'm pumped I saw everyone's reviews and decided to give Ku a shot. We went here last night for dinner after a hard fought battle against my wills to buy a puppy (sushi was the only thing that could console me).
I was as surprised as everyone else that's reviewed Ku at how empty it was for dinner. We walked in a little before 7 and there was one other table and one other couple at the sushi bar when and only 4 or 5 more people came in during the course of our meal. Hopefully it's like a lot of the places in the Preston and Forest area and is really busy during lunch.
I thought it was cool and a little funny they served carrots and celery with ranch to us when we sat down. I've been served a little sorbet before and even had jellyfish salad once or twice. Typically a seaweed or cucumber salad is what I get, and definitely never carrot and celery sticks. Of course, I ate them because it reminded me of eating an after school snack when I was ten. Except the eminent torture from my older sister didn't happen this time. . .hooray maturity!
We ordered the spider roll, Louisiana roll, sunshine roll and oasis roll. The spider roll was great. A good sized and super crispy crab that was still warm and crunchy when it was served and stayed that way while we worked our way through the other rolls. I've gotten so accustomed to poor tempura jobs leaving the meat chewy that I've given up on ordering fried anything in a lot of sushi places. Also, the spider roll's a lot of fun because it plays to my barbaric side because after i jam the end roll in my mouth I've got little legs and a claw sticking out.
I am a man, I build things out of metal and brawn and eat carrot sticks before stuffing half a crab (shell and all) into my greedy mouth.
The rest of the rolls were just as good. The sunshine roll had spicy tuna on the inside and salmon and avocado wrapped on the outside. The fish was crazy fresh and really tender. I'll also take this time to commend them on their sushi rice. I've tried making sushi at home and taken a couple classes when Naan in Plano used to do their sushi tutorials and the rice is a tricky bitch to master. Their sushi rice was light, a little sticky and a little sweet. . .fantastic.
The oasis roll was really good, but was not the spicy treat we were expecting. It was spicy salmon with spicy tuna on top in a spicy sauce. While it was still very good, there was almost no heat to the roll. The Louisiana roll was probably my least favorite, but it was still very good. The roll was surprisingly dry and I think it's because I'm used to having some cucumber or avocado mixed in with the fried crawfish (their roll was just crawfish with a little spicy mayo on top).
I'm glad I checked this place out because I work in the area and constantly fight the sushi urges at lunch time. The meal was a little pricey for what it was (4 rolls, edamame and an iced ted for $60), but maybe I can get my boss to treat one day.
They also finish the meal with a sliced half of an orange arranged in its peel with toothpicks for eating. I'm a big fan of when restaurants do small things like this. It was a fun way to cleanse the pallet and great way to end the meal.
As far as my sushi experiences in Dallas have been, Ku ranks up there with the good ones. Fresh fish, good service and a refreshing attention to detail.
BONUS FUN: There's a sign in the men's restroom that says no woman should drink any alcohol or eat any raw fish while pregnant. This same warning is not in the women's restroom.Listed in: For the Awws and Awes, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fi-om…

Review from Dana C.
I had a great time at Ku the other night. I had no idea it was even there, mainly because it was hidden amongst many other restaurants in a shopping center strip mall.
The service was delightful! I never had to ask for my water to be filled and my dishes were promptly removed from the table once they were empty. The waiter checked on us frequently and we were in and out within one hour. Perfect.
We had a few specialty rolls: the Golden Bridge, Candy Cane, Rainbow and Oasis. They were all really REALLY good, but I have to say the Golden Bridge and Candy Cane were may favorites! I would have liked to try one of the spicier rolls, but I love jalapenos, rocket fuel mustard and rooster sauce!
This was just the first visit of many to come!Listed in: When Only Raw Will Do

What a welcome treat to my neighborhood! I found out about Ku while looking at another food blog and was anxious to try it since the buzz has been good on the ol' internets. If you cannot find it, it is at the very end of the shopping center at Preston/Forest that houses Mi Cocina, Sonny Bryan's, Greenz and Mainstream. They really need to work on their marketing b/c I live close-by, eat at that Mi Cocina all the time and did not hear about it until reading comments in a blog.
When we arrived after 7pm on Friday, the sushi bar was full but the restaurant was not. We noticed three Japanese sushi chefs behind the counter making the goods. There were a ton of specials including blue fin toro which we have been wanting to try for a long time. While expensive, it was worth it and delicious. All of the fish was super fresh and the portions of the sushi pieces were nice and big. By 7:45, the restaurant had filled up and it gave me hope business will eventually pick up.
The service was fine, but definitely not exceptional. The environment is modern, with a nice sushi bar but a little stale. It was so quiet when we arrived, it was a little awkward. As the people finally came in, it was much more comfortable. All in all, I was pleased and am happy to have some good sushi in the hood. -

Why do my friends insist on ordering Bento boxes when we go for sushi!?!?! I invited you so we could have more rolls!!! Ha-ha!
okay, so their bento boxes at Ku Sushi looked pretty good, but not near as good as the sushi looked! We ordered the Super White Tuna sushi, Eel Roll, Ku Special Roll, Las Vegas Roll, and Dallas Roll (represent, what, what!) We might have ordered rolls for other cities if they had them! the were all delish and beautifully presented! The Las Vegas was the table favorite, followed by the Dallas Roll. (between 3 people- $19 per person.)
despite being in a strip mall, the ambiance in the restaurant was really nice and well designed. You could actually hear each other say, "hey are you gonna eat that?"
I'm gonna give Ku my #3 sushi spot for now...Listed in: my best friend, sushi

Ku is only a stone's throw from my front door, and as such I didn't expect much of it. I've never been lucky enough to have good sushi so close. I've only been twice so far (the prices are a little high for my budget) and I have to say they they've changed a bit over the last few months. I'm not sure if it's a new sushi chef or what but the last time I went to Ku was VERY different from the first time.
The first time my significant other and I tried Ku it was lunch time and we were the only people around. We were a little worried, but the fish in the case looked fresh and there was no "bad fish smell" lingering. We ordered a handful of rolls, a few pieces of sashimi, the miso soup, and house salads. Though the food was good only the Dallas Roll really did something for us.
A few nights ago we decided to give the place a second chance. We were both craving sushi but the roads were slick and we didn't feel like driving very far. The experience was completely different from the first time. They ramped up the spice a little on a few of the rolls (I love spicy rolls) and the Dallas roll SANG. The miso soup was also much tastier than before.
In conclusion: if you're in the neighborhood drop in! -

Visited Ku for lunch today. The restaurant caught my eye because I am a graduate of the University of Kansas aka KU so I had to yelp and see if Ku was worthy of my lunchtime dollars; indeed it was.
The atmosphere was nice especially for a hectic work day. Low lighting and Nora Jones playing above, I sat at the sush bar.
I ordered miso soup, even on a 100 degree day, and the Samurai roll which was a shrimp tempora, cucumber, avocado and tuna roll with four different sauces. The soup was light and not too salty. It was also not a commercial soup which many places serve. The roll was small in width, a welcome change from many sushi places that skimp on the goodies and pack on the rice. The sauces were perfectly applied so no need for wasabi or ginger. Roll had about eight quarter size pieces so be prepared to order more than one roll if you are hungry.
I will be back to this restaurant. As I was leaving I saw bottles of Kirin Ichiban so next time I will have a beer with my meal; well, dinner...... -
Review from Anne S.
Wellllll...it's good. However, it's borderline overpriced. I'm sure you're paying for all the swanky decorations. I'd rather have low-budget decor and cheaper (and even more delicious) sushi. (That would be Mr. Sushi in Addison; if you haven't been, go tonight.)
The veggies + ranch before the meal? Very weird. Did not touch it. Tried to order edamame instead, but despite being one of only three tables seated in the entire place, they somehow forgot my order.
The sushi? Definitely a great selection of rolls; possibly even a bit too much. There are several that only differ ever so slightly from each other...making it even more confusing. It'd be a more manageable menu with fewer selections. I mean, the sushi chefs can always tweak things, right? Ku Sushi needs to pick some rolls that are their absolute standouts and offer those ONLY. This could be about 10-15 rolls, but 25-40 (I lost count) is a bit much.
The quality of the fish seemed pretty good. Execution was a bit sloppy on a couple rolls (one of them fell apart on the plate before we could eat it), but generally decent. Charging something like $4 for real wasabi is ridiculous, though.
Overall, a decent meal, but for the price, you can get the same (no, better) quality of sushi for much less at Mr. Sushi. I guess if you were trying to impress a sushi-unsavy date, take them here. For people who want to pay for good sushi rather than just a nice atmosphere, go to Mr. Sushi. Bottom line, I'll still be going to Mr. Sushi every time. This girl don't need no fancy swag...just good fish. -

I am fairly picky about sushi. I just tried Ku for the first time last night. (We used to always go to Sushi on McKinney before they closed, so we had to find a new place.)
Everything we had was very fresh and yummy! White Tuna! Yummm!!
We started with various Nigiri and a few standard rolls (Spicy Tuna, Spider...) but then I convinced the fam to try some more adventurous "Specialty" Rolls, the Candy Can and Dragon Fly. They both flew off the plate!
I've heard the tempura ice cream is to die for also, but we were too stuffed from the State Fair to have one more piece of fried something...
I will definitely go back to Ku!Listed in: Dallas Can't Miss!

Started off with basic Tuna and Salmon Nigiri. Was a very good beginning as the slices of sushi were huge.
We had three rolls: Geisha, Candy Cane and Las Vegas. All were very good. The sauces really made the rolls delicious. While we were talking about what we just ate, the Chef gave us a sample of one of his appetizers, the Creamy Monster. FANTASTIC! Honestly, we will now be finishing our meals at Ku with this app. It had a slightly sweet taste and was a perfect sushi dessert.
Everyone has been raving about the service at Ku and it's true. Everyone there is happy to meet you and provides exceptional service with a smile.
We will be heading back over and over again. -

Ku is a little hard to find, but it's very good. I recommend the veggie tempura roll and spicy tuna roll. I would not, however, recommend non sushi menu items. My husband tried the sesame chicken and it was not very good (especially when you consider that it cost $14). Overall, a very nice sushi restaurant.

This is a tough one.
I really liked the ambiance and the serving staff.
The sushi bar is set up like a sports bar (with flat screen TV), and the decor is urban black. And, I had very attentive server.
However, I just didn't care for their sushi. Don't get me wrong. I think they are above average, but not sure whether it justifies the price. I am giving them one additional "benefit-of-doubt" star since I have not tried any of their kitchen dishes.
Try their green tea ice cream -- it comes with an umbrella. -

Went to Ku last night and I must say I was very happy. Ordered some salmon, candy cane roll, and the Vegas roll. All were better then I had expected. Its very rare that 100% of my order tastes better then I thought it would. The service was outstanding. I should have asked for our primary waitress name cause she was great. It was as if she had some magical way of filling my drink and taking my finished plates away without me ever seeing her. I make it a point to always say "thank you" to anyone serving me every time they fill my drink or take my plates away but she did it so fast and quietly that I never had a opportunity. So if you want some very good sushi and even better service visit Ku. Next time I go I'm gonna try to get that waitress's name ;). Happy sushi everyone.

The sushi was fresh and tasty, but it was very overpriced. Things like Gyoza and Mochi ice cream were far too expensive for the paltry portions they provided. The service was quite poor, because they apparently only had one or two waitresses handling the crowded room. I don't think I'll be going back.

Open Easter, unlike our regular go-to place (Sushi Star). Had a nice dinner. Seaweed salad portions were generous. Sushi was above average for the metroplex. Lobster tail was delicious but a bit expensive for the size of the portion. Huge selection of special rolls - we ordered the one with pumpkin. It never came, but it was not on the bill either, and we were full anyhow. Will definitely come back. Between 3 and 4 starts.

Expensive, but good taste.
I had Bul go gi (a Korean stir fry)
and wife had sushi. Both were good.
Salad dressing was tasty.
Kids plate $8.95
Miso soup was good.
Presentation nice.
Service good.
If only they could lower their prices.
Total bill $80 - 2 adults, 2 kids. -

After such good reviews, my friends suggested we come here for dinner. WHAT A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT! The food was edible but not great and it was pretty expensive on top of that. Avg rolls are around 9-15 dollars. We had the Aghedashi Tofu (decent), squid salad (decent), ahi tower (really really sweet!!!), and some rolls Dragon, Ku special, and Spider Roll (all were decent but not great. Most were cold and some were warm. It was weird. Fried Crabs in the spider roll tasted old. NOT as good as everyone suggested. Bad day perhaps.

i am glad to have a sushi place with a little atmosphere in the neigborhood finally. The sushi was great, the miso black cod was disappointing. enthusiastic service and pretty decent wine list. I enjoyed the comfy upholstered chairs (at all the tables and sushi bar).
