nice, family-owned place -
freshly made treats (samosas yummmm!)

the lunch is great - $4.50 - how can you beat that?

small, not much to look at on the inside (seats remind
me of an old Wendy's) - but, the food is great.

Wow--for the price of a $6 dinner, you get soooo much food--enough to share for 2 petite meals, or just enough to go back later for seconds!  I've been known to spend 2 or 3 days finishing off my meals from Krishna Restaurant.

But I'm getting a little ahead of myself.

Krishna is a small, very modest place--basically a to-go spot, with several tables for those who want to eat right away.  No atmosphere to speak of, though--just a TV playing one of the Indian cable channels.

The draw is that each day, a preset vegetarian menu is prepared, and for one low price, you get a take-home thal.  You select your choices between two options each of bread, rice, and soup.  You get those, plus the two daily dishes, picled vegetables, and a sweet.  This is a convenient, cheap, and delicious meal!

Also for sale are individual snack items, such as samosas or chaat, plus a few dry chaat items & desserts you can take home.  The drawback of the place is that it's closed on Mondays (as are many restaurants), and on the days it is open, is closed by 8pm--so, no good for last-minute planning for us late eaters!  Plan ahead, though, and you've got yourself a delicious, savory meal ready quickly & at a good price.

I and my family have frequently visited this mom/pop restaurant.

Pros:
* Tasty, non-spicy, non-greasy, good vegetarian Gujarati food
* Relatively inexpensive.
* Single stop for lunch or dinner, sweets, chaat snacks (farshan)
* Both lunch and dinner are very close to home cooking.
* Polite, nice and friendly service

Cons:
* They close around 8PM.
* Relatively small size for seating.

Overall, it is a great place for good Indian/Gujarati vegetarian food. Will definitely recommend it.
