4.5 stars. My favorite place to get fried clams, possibly in the world. The whole belly plate with fries and onion rings is the way to go, split between two people with lots of ketchup and tartar sauce. Summer has not officially begun until I've indulged here, and just thinking about it makes me so happy and wistful summer is over... sigh...

I'm a (summertime) local, but this place is worth driving to for non-natives too IMO. Check it out if you get a chance... no tips or table service, no manners, just delicious fatty fried goodness on the banks of the river in the beautiful town of Dennis. Perfection.

I honestly don't understand the appeal of fried seafood, or claiming that such a place as the Kreme and Kone is the "best" at cooking generic-tasting artery clogging dishes.

You'll feel like you have a wet greasy chin after eating at this place.

The place is basically a food court where anyone can sit anywhere and the tables are seldom wiped down after patrons leave.  The food is piled on to paper plates or styrofoam containers and everything, from fried clams to onion rings, tastes like the same deep fried material, which hardly passes as "food."

It's fried food people, no matter where you go, it's going to taste the same.  The chowder is from a big can kept on a baker's rack out back.  It's staffed by high schoolers on break for the summer who chew gum as they take your order.

Anyone who gives this place more than one star has no idea what "good food" is.

This place is a tourist death trap with a hazardous double-sided parking lot kitty cornered by a four way intersection across from a Dunkin' Donuts, so you can imagine the clusterfuck it is to pull in or out of this place.

They serve soft serve ice cream, which is the dairy component to fried seafood apparently.

You're way better off traveling to The Beach Comber in Wellfleet or The Red Inn in Provincetown.  This place sucks.  Period.

Ok part of my review will rebut the review put out by the earlier but head who seems to have no idea what good food really taste like. First of all for anyone with an IQ above zero and the barest taste bud, the Kreme and Kone is a fantastic place to go for families who would like a fun, relatively inexpensive place to eat.

The Kreme N Kone is exceptionally clean and the staff does an amazing job of keeping the place moving without rushing customers.  Their food is fried in vegetable oil so it poses no health risk to anyone and to be honest if you go to any restaurant with steamers or boiled lobster you are served drawn butter so the Kreme and Kone is actually a healthier choice.

The give you a fantastic amount of food for a great value.  As for the parking, gee this idiot just noticed there is traffic on the Cape. Thanks for the news flash Einstein. The Kreme N Kone has a good sized parking lot which can, like every other restaurant fill up at dinner time.  Um hello that's called tourist season.  There is a traffic light at the intersection he complained about which can easily be accessed from the Kone's very safe parking lot.

Let me put it this way, if you want to try one of the best seafood places on the Cape give the Kone a shot. If you hate kids, families, seeing people enjoy themselves and having great food at reasonable prices then you are best not going to the Kone.  The Kone has awesome food case closed.  I would say that the mass of people who go there year round prove my case.

Oh, Kream n Kone, I love you. I've been coming here for years with my family - back since the old location where we used to stake out tables and finding two booths together was a rare treat. The new location (sadly old one burned down) is just as awesome. More tables, so you don't have the memories of parking lot fights over who was where first, but the food is exactly the same - just as it should be.
Food - the onion rings are amazing, whole belly clams outstanding, I personally love their burgers, and please dear lord remember to get a frappe when you're there. You won't want to button your pants after the clams and the onion rings and the frappe, but it's totally worth it, I swear.
Also- the owners are Greek and awesome and there every day. I don't know their names, but they run a tight ship and the packed parking lot proves it

Best fried food on the Cape hands down. I have been there many times and will continue to go back. If you are going to get fried food, why not get the best?

Get the fried Oyster, A+++

If you want a great bowl of chowder go here. It's a great fry shop but the clam chowder is the real winner. Add some raw onions and get a great taste of New England!

FRIED everything - fried seafood, oysters, clams, shrimp etc.  Soft serve with a ga-zillion flavored syrups to flavor it.  Great for kids with ZERO decor - it's a cafeteria.  It's great - but Captain Frosty's is still our front runner for lobster rolls.

Kream 'n Kone has been around forever and is a local landmark.  This location is their NEW bigger space.

Usually Cooke's is the go-to place for fried seafood for us. I even have one of their menus from when I last visited Cape Cod in 2002. This trip we kept hearing that a place called Kream 'n Kone was really good and well-known for their fried seafood. Lo and behold when we arrived we saw that they claim to be "The Finest Fried Seafood Anywhere."

Here's the drill: You order at a counter. If you got chowder or soup you get that right away. You get cups for the self-serve soda right away. Condiments are self serve. For the rest you are given a number and you take it to your seat. The waitress then brings it to your table. We didn't have time to even start digging into our clam chowder before our piles of fried food arrived, so the service is FAST. The chowder was good, but we're sticking with The Skipper as the best chowder we had on the trip.

Kream 'n Kone offers "plates" which include your choice of fried haddock, sole, flounder, shrimp, scallops, clams (whole, with bellies), clam strips, calamari or oysters and French fries and onion rings. One of my friends got the fried clam strips plate. My other friend and I split a 3-way plate of whole clams, scallops and shrimp. Man, were we overwhelmed when the food showed up! Seafood with stacks and stacks of French fries and onion rings. We knew ahead of time that we'd never finish the food, maybe not even half, and so we tried to just eat til we were satisfied. It was so delicious, though. You could tell that the oil they used was fresh. They must change it often. We also got sides of coleslaw and curly fries. I thought I could sub out curly fries for regular fries, but had to get them as a side instead.

Hell YES I would drive myself to Dennis just to partake in a heaping pile of fried goodness at Kream and Kone!

On Cape trips to the cottage we frequent in this area, I will be truly grumpy if for some reason (no reason is really good enough), I don't make it Kream and Kone at least ONCE per trip.  I'm originally from the CT shore so it's not like I haven't had yummy fried seafood platters over the summers of my life... but Kream and Kone wins points for being both reasonably priced and awesome at what they do!
I've never waited more than 15 minutes for my order, I always have a decently clean table outside to choose from, I can get ice cream on the side if I'm feeling like adding to my heart attack potential ... what's not to love??  Health nuts...don't rain on my grease parade, I realize what I'm saying!
There's also a location on the way to Chatham that I've been to - all same great stuff!  Either spot recommended for your Cape sun bathing lunch or dinner breaks!

Fried seafood, and lots of it!  Among the five of us, we ordered fried oysters, fried clams, fried scallops, fried shrimp, french fries, onion rings and a hamburger.  The portions were huge and the everything we ordered was amazingly not-greasy and delicious.  It's not cheap, but the freshness and preparation is just pristine.

It's sort of a cafeteria set up - you order at the counter and then someone brings it to your table after you get it setup with napkins, tartar sauce, ketchup - all the accoutrement's you need for a good old fashioned fish fry at the Cape!

A solid fish place on busy RT. 28 in Dennis. Instead of waiting for your food at the counter after you order, you are given a flag with a number on it and wait at a table. There were some large groups in the seating area and still some empty tables.

However, it does get very crowded. At one point, we were amazed to see that the line was going out the door. And the food is slightly expensive, but at least you get a fair amount for what you ordered.

This is without a doubt the BEST seafood I've ever had in the Cape and the best scallops I've ever had in my life. Melt-in-your-mouth buttery golden nuggets of deep sea treasure. Sub-par french fries and awesome onion rings. Stick with the seafood-everything else is average. The prices are high but it's worth it. I'm assuming the seafood is fresh daily. Don't be fooled by the outdoor patio-nothing amazingly scenic even though it seems like it would be from the inside.

In search of fried seafood?  If the answer is yes then Kream N' Kone is your place!  This place serves up some of the most delicious fried clams you will find on the Cape.  They offer everything you can think of and their prices are fairly reasonable.  This place gets crowded but the layout is almost like a big cafeteria so there is plenty of seating.  There is also an outdoor patio with 3 or 4 tables that you can sit at an enjoy a nice Cape breeze.

They also serve beer and wine.

Awesome pistachio ice cream. The meals are very good, and although not cheap the portions are really large! The laid back atmosphere is perfect, no matter the size of your group, as you can just order at the counter and sit to wait for your meal at any of their tables.

We were there just before closing, and so it wasn't crowded and our food was ready very quickly.

Disgustingly fantastic.  Often when I'm on the Cape I'm visiting in a group of 15+, so Kream'n Kone's casual dining atmosphere and immense seating area is perfect in accommodating us and our ensuing antics.  I'm always surprised when I see that lunch can easily put you back $20, before adding a milkshake and the requisite $6 side order of onion rings.  Until the food arrives, and we remember that the side orders are meant to be shared.  For quick, fried fish (clam bellies, scallops, etc) and chowdah, this is your spot.
