Well, I had an hour for lunch today and decided to return. I was thinking of giving it 4 stars today not remembering my prior review with 5. And that was only because they do not have yuk hwe and the AC was blasting on a cold day. I did not bring a jacket and was freezing. On top of that stupid me ordered a cold dish: mul maeng myon, something I only get when I'm alone since no one else in my circle likes this despite my sweetie loving Korean food. It's a cold broth with ice in it with buck wheat noodles (diameter like pho not soba) a few slices of cooked cold beef and some pickled cucumber and radish. You add your own mixture of mustard/garlic.
It was actually one of the best versions I've had. The banchon were plentiful and delicious.I was the only non-korean in the place.
So despite the temperature and no raw beef I still give it 5 stars. I will so miss good Korean food when we move to Europe in February.

I work about a block from this place several times a month but never have time for a real lunch.… Read more »
Be prepared for a food induced coma shortly after, (or during,) a trip to this place.
Tucked away off Monument in Concord, this little joint is pretty damn fantastic. There is a laundromat right across from it, too, in case you have a load of whites you need to do. So convenient!
So I ordered an OB and the BBQ Pork and my hot date ordered the BI Bm Bop?! (Something with beef and an egg on top.) Both were REALLY good and portions were hearty, to say the least. Not to mention, before dinner even arrives, 8 little dishes with tasty morsels arrived with all kinds of good stuff, of which I could only identify the Kim Chee. BUT. They were all very tasty as well.
Service was great - a very kind woman greeted us and promptly gave my Asian dinner pal a cup of hot tea and the white looking guy got a water. Haha... Thats ok, I drank her tea.
The most peculiar event of the night was my trip to the restroom... Not because I had the screaming shits or I passing a kidney stone, but because on the way I passed a little cubbyhole in the back of the restaurant that was FULL of VCR's, TV's, and COUNTLESS VHS tapes. Either this is a secret branch of the CIA or maybe this guy owns a VHS rental operation on the side. I asked if they had the original TMNT movie, but it was checked out.
Once again excellent food and excellent service!!!
Went here for dinner the other night. Our server who goes by Key for short....lol....was a wonderful and entertaining fun guy and Made our dinning experience even more enjoyable.
We both ordered the BBQ chicken and nothing fell short as usual, all around fantastic.
Great food, excellent service and well worth your dollar.

Hey, not bad! Not bad at all. This is 3.51 stars, and hence rounded up.
I came with some girlfriends for a very early dinner, and the place was deserted when we first arrived. This restaurant is next to the Korean market on Monument, which is also not bad at all. The shopkeeper Korean market, where we've purchased pre-marinated meat, recommended the restaurant. I'm not sure if there is a filial relationship between the grocery and the restaurant, but I was willing to give it a shot.
When we arrived, I quickly decided on my order. My dol sot bi bim bap had the requisite crunchy rice, but I thought the toppings were not as generous as some other places. They also have a soon dofu dish, which looked and sounded great, but . . . it being summer in Coco county, it just sounded too hot (I'll come back to try it out in the fall). The banchans -- of which they provide TWELVE -- are standard and decent. However, beware of the brined non-kimchee napa cabbage (looks like it's lightly brined bright green napa cabbage leaves) banchan; served with fresh jalapenos, which were camouflaged in the bright green napa leaves, that bite was WICKED. Woohee, tears rolling down my face, I had to borrow some of my friend's rice to quench that fire (my rice from my dol sot bibimbap was completely consumed).
The restaurant is small, with four or so booths down the side and some tables on the other side. The long tables can easily accommodate a larger group. Our waitress was Korean, though she also spoke fluent Japanese; although she ran the restaurant on her own, she was so friendly and efficient, and the service was great.
By the time, we were done with our leisurely dinner, three other tables had come and gone and there were about four other groups still dining.
Dinner ended up being about $14 a person, so it's pretty reasonable. Hooray, for another Korean restaurant in Coco County!
They are friendly.
Food was alright...but didnt blow me away. The spicy pork is what I can here for because my place is closed on sundays. Their spicy pork is just ok, nothing amazing. The sides are good.
On the higher price side. We both got sodas and 2 meat dishes and it came to 48 bucks with tip!
Needless to say I doubt we will drive all the way out to Concord from Livermore again for this place.
Oh and its location is next to a Korean market and a Mexican markey...crowded and difficult to get in and out of.
Very small location! AND hard to find! We went up and down the street before realizing it was in a shopping center masked away behind a taqueria. We came here as a group and lets just say we had to squeeze our way into our seats.
The service was ok. We had to ask the waiter for more side dishes where as some places just replensish once they see you are low. The waiter hardly came around to check up on us and since they didnt really walk around we had to wait for more drinks and side dishes.
Food was good. We ordered the short ribs which were so tender and marinated really well! What i liked about the meat is that they cut the meat into bite size pieces! Whereas some places are super big! Plus the meat comes out on a sizzling plate. The side dishes ranged from pickled cucumber, potatos, little fishes with sweet peppers, dikon radish, friend tofu, kim chee. I enjoy spicy so what disappointed was that the side dishes were not that spicy! (and asking for hot sauce took for ever) Im also sad that the meal did not come with jap chae. sake ranged from 4-7 dollars as well as the beer
Overall I would come back to this place but perhaps not with a big group!
We went here last night for dinner after searching for a nearby place on Yelp. Average Yelp score for this place was a 4.5?!?! What a let down.
We got the Bul Go Gi and Bi Bim Bap. Both were ok, but nothing special. I've had better Korean food elsewhere in Concord. The food portions were big and we had lots of little kim chee/pickled vegetable dishes to snack on. The price was also steep - $40 for two people? I was expecting to spend maybe $30 at most. Overall, I wouldn't come back here.....
This is my favorite Korean restaurant ever. My mom is from Korea and she swears this place serves the best Korean food. (I agree)
Food comes with all the tradition veggies (kimchi, namul, spinach, fish cake, list goes on an on) there are about 10-12 different sides that come complimentary. Everything they make is authentic and delicious. The menu is numbered so if you can't pronounce the Korean names of the food just tell them the number and they will get you what you want! :-)
Comfortable ambiance. Big flat screen. Everytime I've eaten here the TV usually plays golf, news, or korean drama. Usually in Korean, but if you have a big group of not Korean people, they will play something in English.
Good for groups of 2-20 people.
They serve beer and soju, soda, and of course boh-ri-cha (korean tea).
On average you'll spend $10 per person (before tip).
Plenty of parking.
They accept most credit cards but they do not accept Discover credit cards.
When I want Korean food (almost once a week) I only go to this Korean Restaurant.
If you are a brave white person then this is the best Korean food I have ever tried. I say brave because I think we were the only Caucasian people in the restaurant but that is a good sign for me.
The waiter was extremely friendly and helpful with the menu. The food and pre dinner appetizers were excellent. My only complaint.. very messy. Don't wear white like I did if you eat here.
PRO:
* best Korean restaurant in the Bay Area
* very good food
* inexpensive
* friendly waitresses who work hard though there's only one there at a time
* next to a Korean mom-and-pop market (same owner)
CON:
* can get crowded fast (e.g., when a golf tournament crowd enters)
specific food recommendations:
* lunch combo of kalbi and den chan kook plus all the ban chan will be the highlight lunch of your week, every week
It was an unusually long week at work and Friday couldn't of come any sooner. The weather has been kind of weird too as it has been surprisingly cool and breezy and definitely not your typical summer weather in the 'Mon.
We were in the mood for something warm and soupy for dinner and Korean tofu soup sounded really good. It's been a while since we've had a Korean sit down place which didn't involve me grilling so it was a good change of pace.
On our way there, I was a bit perplexed with where I envisioned this place to be. First, we passed several apartments that reminded me of 8 Mile and when we finally got there, it was a bit hidden and surrounded by numerous Mexican taquerias, a supermercado and panaderia. I saw a Hankook grocery (which the owners of KBBP also own) and a Tae Kwon Do place across the street. Ok, it had to be around here.
When we arrived, the place was very cozy and bustling. All the tables were occupied. We ordered several dishes enough for a party of 6. We ordered the Wang Gal Bi (broiled short ribs), Sam Gyp Sal Gu E (barbeque thin sliced bacon with sesame oil), Dak Gu E (Broiled tender chicken marinated in special sauce), Yuk Keh Jang (spicy beef soup with green onions & egg), Hae Mul Sun Tofu Chi Ghe (soft tofu stew with assorted seafood). Everything was DELICIOUS!!!
Shut up!! I know it's a lot of food for a party of 2 but trust me, we brought home leftovers :)
Overall, this place was really good and will definitely come here again. Service was good and the waitress was very attentive and nice. Many would argue that this is one of the best Korean BBQ places in Contra Costa and I would have to agree with them.
I live a block away and WHO KNEW such tasty goodness lurked amid the El Rancho and laundry mat?? Now you do. The servers are nice, the old(er) gents watchin' various sports and news at the "big" table are hilario and the bul go gi, short ribs and egg soup (off menu) are fantastic. So welcome to Concord and enjoy the eats. Should you feel inspired, there is a small Korean market next door where you can load up on jars of kimchi and such.
I'm proud to be Korean! Especially when I experience an authentic highly pleasing to the taste buds Korean meal. OK, I'm gonna say it...KOREAN FOOD MAKES ME HAPPY!!
For those of you that have never had the pleasure to taste something Korean, oh boy, are you in for a treat! Korean food is not for the weak at heart...complex flavors in just about every dish, all served with ban chan, which are little plates of sides. Warning!...some of the sides are packed with a punch! meant to be had with and compliment traditional steamed white rice.
My family has had Korean BBQ Plus twice thus far, once in the restaurant and once to go. the second time was even better than the first. Yay! Service is great too.
I feel the only thing that holds this place back is the location (not the best)
that's all :)
Lunch specials for under $10
So much food for a cheap price. This includes rice, soup, the entree (I got the Galbi) and a myriad of sides. It totally hit the spot and I was delitefully satisfied. The marinate sauce was excellent. It wasn't overwhelming but rather perfect blend of flavor. It's a little bit hard to find but I would come back again.
It's definitely hard to find an authentic Korean restaurant in the East Bay. That is until I found Korean BBQ Plus! They have very friendly servers and excellent banchan (side dishes). Their small, intimate atmosphere compliments the traditional Korean dishes very nicely. The menu caters to both the meat-lovers and the vegetarians. My personal favorite is the mul naengmyun (cold noodles with delicious broth, cold cooked beef, fresh sliced vegetables, and a hard-boiled egg), which is delicious in any weather. I also enjoy the eundaegu jorim (look for its description on their menu). I really wish the food at Korean restaurants in Davis and Sacramento area tasted half as good as this place. There is also a Korean grocery store right next to the restaurant - how convenient is that?
very tasty food.
very clean kitchen ( I worked in a rest kitchen for 7 years).
only it is missing the WOW factor.
you wont be sorry
I dont know what i ordered.
I let the chef choose them for me.
one of them was mackerel, very satisfying.
location is not very inviting but who cares since the food is exceptional. give it a try.
try something new.
that's what we did. and we are happy campers.
ooo get some beer too, spicy food taste better with beer.
cheers
and savor the experience.
Very friendly service and a very authentic Korean dining experience. They give you a wide array of small Korean appetizers and spices. These include pickled cucumbers, spiced rice cake, kimchi, spiced radish, eggplant, seaweed, seaweed soup, a bowl of rice, and much, much more.
My beautiful girlfriend and I also ordered a korean pancake which was large, chewy and delicious. She ordered the bbq chicken which was really, really savory and I ordered the galbi (short ribs) which were particularly flavorful.
The service is very friendly and fast, but the prices are a little steep. It's definitely worth trying more than once though. The food is spectacular.
The reviews were right. This place gets lost in strip malls that surround it. There are a bunch of Mexican grocery shops, a little Asian (i think Korean focused) market, a bunch of random restaurants, and other shops close by.
But my bf and I were craving some Korean food, and found this place on yelp. What the reviews don't you is that there is a minefield of speedbumps that surround this place. Literally there were speedbumps for every 2, count 'em, TWO parking spaces. Apparently there were too many races going on in this parking lot and this was the most effective way to stop it.
To the food! Unlike the Korean restaurants in the K-Town known as Santa Clara (by El Camino), they give you the little appetizer dishes when you get your entree. I think it's so you're less likely to get seconds and they can give less... probably good for people like me since I could just eat those for a meal.
We got a seafood pancake & bulgogi.
Seafood pancake - Of all the ingredients, green onion was the most prevalent. It was still very tasty. The part that lacked was the texture. It didn't have that slightly toasty/crisp-ish texture that Choi's Kitchen does sooo well. I'd say it's average.
Bulgogi - A little more expensive than i'm used to paying for this dish (~$18), but it was very good. It was well marinated and came with a large portion of rice and lettuce.
I'd definitely come here again next time i'm craving Korean and in the East Bay. If I want my favorite Korean place though, you'll find me in Santa Clara.
Another plus: The waiter was super nice. Our bill came a little late because there was a rush of people when were ready to leave, but the waiter was so nice, we didn't care.
This is the best Korean restaurant in Contra Costa County. Great small plates (the appetizers that they place in front of you while you wait for your food), some of the best and freshest that my wife and I have ever tasted. Everything was nicely done and flavors were well-balanced. The trouble with Korean food is that restaurants tend not to balance well (e.g., many will put too much garlic in everything). The worst tend to cut too many cost corners (e.g., cheap cuts of meat where they shouldn't be used); I didn't see any of that here.
Service was very good, but I can see that there is a potential for bad service if there is a group with "in the know" patrons in the restaurants; management seems to focus on them.
Very surprising, since it's located directly behind a very mediocre Korean grocery store. Some might be put off by the bad neighborhood, but it's not unusually bad as neighborhoods for Korean restaurant go. It's also small, so don't expect to escape without some essence of Korean food on everything. You have to go to one of the new fancier places that they have down in the South Bay or LA.
Our favorite dish here is the Mool Neng Myun. It's been very consistent and tastes really good for being in Concord! Lots of banchan! There have been some hit and misses but overall, probably the best Korean restaurant in the East Bay.
A very nice and comfortable Korean restaurant. The food is very good! The side dishes or ban chan had a very nice selection and was tasteful. You can even ask for refills! The kalbi was very tender and not fatty. Would have received five stars except for the inconsistent service because not enough help. But the waiter and waitress were very friendly. A winner!
A true diamond in the rough... I don't know how long it's been here, but I've been living down the street all my life and I'm kicking myself for not finding this place earlier.
I must say, this has some of the best Korean food I've ever had. It could be because I was starving when I went, but at the same time I eat Korean food all the time. This place is great because it's not flashy, and has that homey/family run business atmosphere. Everyone is really helpful (which is typical of Korean restaurants).
What probably surprised me the most is that my family was given 15 side dishes to start... an amount which I want to say doubles any other restaurant I've been to. I was blown away.
The food my family ordered (jap chae, bulgogi, bibimbap, a soup) was finished by my family, with rooms in our stomachs to spare. I don't say that because the servings were small, because they were definitely not. My family enjoyed it so much that they wanted more when all was finished. My parents don't eat non-Chinese Asian food often, but they surprised me (along with Thai food the other day). After 23 years, my parents are turning a new leaf. =)
Will I come back here, DEFINITELY. I've officially found my Korean spot at home in Concord.
The reviews match the place..... the most amazing food with the most amazing service, but in a dump of a place. It's in a funky area of town and on the back corner of a building - but oh my god - we are going to come here often. We had some bbq chicken and some bbq beef. I suggest you have one or two appetizers and just one main course because it was a lot of food. Our watier, "Key" was super nice. We will be back again and again.
After
14 side dishes (can you believe it?? 14!!)
1 bowl of rice
1 kimchee tofu stew
My FOOD COMA is settling in.
This place is a very rare find in Concord. There aren't that many options in this city and I'm glad to finally find a Korean restaurant that really satisfied the craving. Menu is extensive and food tastes authentic (another plus). Prices are typical and range from $8-10 a plate. No complaints when it comes to the service - they are fast and efficient! I will definitely be adding this to my list hot of spots for lunch.
Being hapa, I definitely need to have access to an authetntic Korean restaurant near where I live. This place is right around the corner, although it's not the best corner. Concord doesn't quite have the suburban charm that Pleasant Hill does, let's just leave it at that. Still, it's nowhere near as sketchy as some parts of Oakland. As for the food.... excellent. The little plates of appetizers are so delicious, and plentiful. I love variety, and this place definitely provides you with a nice little set up of tiny dishes to satisfy your taste buds. I always stick with the dol sot bi bim bap (a hot stoneware bowl full of rice, mixed veggies, and beef). It comes to your table, still sizzling. So amazing. I've been there several times, and the waitstaff is always so pleasant and accomodating. Definitely suggest trying this place out if you're in the East Bay.
on our way over, my bf and i were talking about the reviews we read for this place. and i asked, "why is it that everything in concord is described as a 'hidden gem' on yelp?"
"because everything is hidden in strip malls and you have to look," he replied.
i thought, ew. you just said strip mall. that's so CONCORD! "everything's in a strip mall here. i like the city," i said out loud. he agreed.
in any event, we were pleased to find this HIDDEN gem - i've been to three korean places in concord and i believe this is the most authentic. i also think the quality of meat they use is better than that one in the park n shop.
we had the bbq chicken and cold somen noddles - they were both really good. they also gave us 14 kinds of side dishes and all were pretty good.
we'll definitely be back. we were absolutely stuffed afterwards!
I ran across the yelp reviews for this place while working in the area and got here on a Monday afternoon just in time for the lunch rush hour. It was getting fairly full by 12:30, I was seated right away, but it took the waiter about 10 minutes to come back to me to get my order & side dishes. She happened to be the only waitress at the moment, so thats understandable. The menu was simple enough, prices are average, not cheaper, average lunch price was $9 an entree. I ordered the Kim chee chi ghe ($9.95).
The soup was not spicy, but the flavor was there, I ended up adding the kim chee side dish to my tofu soup to add a bit more spice to it. I over liked eatting here because the sides are really good and I easily filled up on all of it with my soup. I also liked the fact that my soup had a good sized pork pieces, normally other places wil cut the meat to tiny pieces, but there were actual large slices in the tofu and they didn't skimp on it either. I had at least 8 slices.
I would give this place more than 3.5 stars if the prices were cheaper. I basically had soup, rice, and side dishes for about $13 for lunch.
We got in the Honda, heading for Concord. "What do you feel like?", "Oh, i don't know, Japanese" "OK, let's see what's in Concord..."
So we get the navigation set to some random Japanese place and we end up here. We need a new navigation CD.
This place blew our minds away. We saw that other tables were getting an array of little dishes, and wondered what they had ordered to get them. We were then very surprised when those little dishes started coming our way. The sheer variety of them was amazing. I have never tasted tofu so good. The little fried anchovies, the "coleslaw" of daikon and apple, the caramelized roots, the kale... everything was sooooo tasty. I ordered the baby octopus, which ended up being the only dissapointment of the meal (a bit tough), while my husband ordered the pork and bacon dish. They were out of bacon, but who cares? It was from out of this world. We need to go back, because the food was incredible, plentiful and delicious. What a serendipitous find.
Came here for lunch with a group of friends. The lunch menu is reasonably priced. They give soo many side dishes! you can get full just by those things. The food is pretty good, will definitely be back here for lunch because the dinner menu is a little on the expensive side.
Yummy! I love all the side dishes here for lunch and dinner. Totally beats the one in the Park & Shop plaza. The spicy pork Bul-gul-gi is good here. Their Jap chae is so-so. Its a little too soggy. Service is slow but the people/servers are REALLY nice and accommodating. This is definitely going to be my regular spot now.
I went there twice and the food was good but the service was horrible. The first time I went I was the only table in the whole restaurant. Later a family joined to be the only other table. My waitor disappeared and I saw him doing side work in the kitchen. He never came back to even check on me. I had to flag another server who was helping table number 2. She never asked me if I needed anything as well. I asked for my bill and that was it. She never asked me if everything was good, or is there something I can get for you and my original waitor was still in the kitchen doing side work.
The second time I went. There were 4 other tables. The same waitor sat me down. Then he did not get me my drink and menu until like 10 min later. Then the same thing happens, I dont see him after he gives me my food. I see him sitting down and doing side work on a table. Noone ever comes and checks. I have to flag down another server and I ask her for an extra rice. She charges me $1.50 for it where other restaurants give complimentary. I have to flag down for the check.
Next time I will order take out because I dont think I want to go through that bad service again. Or better yet, I wont go at all. There are other Korean Restaurants that will service better.
I been here many times with my coworkers for lunch. The food was always good and service was mostly good. I tried the BBQ chicken, beef rib soup, cold noodle, spicy shredded beef soup, and bean paste soup. It's my fav spot for Korean food in the area. I would've gave this place 5 stars!
I came here for lunch with a coworker last week, and everything was horrible. We had to wait more than 30 minutes for the food to come, and services was lacking. When the food finally came, the BBQ chicken tasted bland like it was not marinaded at all. There wasn't enough meat in the beef rib soup. I don't know what happened that day, but everything was off! Maybe, sometime later, I may come back again. But with last week's experience fresh in my mind, I couldn't justify it to myself to come back yet. Now, I'll have to lower the rating to 3 stars.
The wife and I visited this place for lunch on a Saturday due to Yelpers recommendations. This place is situated in an odd location hiding in the back of a Korean grocery store and surrounded by other Mexican restaurants and goods and services shopping complex. If it isn't for the Yelpers we would not set our foot in this place.
We ordered a beef BBQ and a seafood pancake. Wow, they really tasted delicious in comparing to other Korean place in Concord near Fry's. Beef was very tender and NOT greasy at all. Seafood pancake was also tasty and not greasy at all. The presentation was nice and clean and we could feel the owner's love in their food preparation. and the portion size was very generous. Moreover, the little appetizer dishes came with our orders had a very wide varieties, again very generous.
Restaurant itself is small but very organized and clean. Serving staff is nice and very responsive. We would return again and again.
OH MY.
I really didn't think Concord was capable of having really slammin' ass Korean food. Boy, oh boy, was I wrong. Sooooo delicious!!!! Gosh, I'm drooling RIGHT now just thinking about it.
Ordered #26: mixed veggies, beef, and fried egg with rice served on a hot stoneware bowl. Damn, good! Love the sizzle and decent price of $10.95! Whoop. And of course served with appetizer plates =) All were exceptionally delicious by the way. And at the end, rice drink for dessert! Definitely enjoyed my meal.
Decor was cute. Loved the mirror-walls and big booths. Service was extremely friendly!! Waitress and/or (Owner?!) was very charming and nice.
Annnnnd, in my opinion.. I highly suggest they relocate since this place is a hidden gem.. near some laundry mat!?!? Yesss, definitely in need of a new location so that more customers can try this place out! =)
This place is AWESOME!!
I eat here probably once a week .. The people here are very polite and hard working .. I love eating up all the side dishes while I wait for my entrees
Go and enjoy!!
This place totally surprised me. Yes, I admit I am a hard-ass when it comes to judging asian food, but this one measures up there with the korean restaurants in Oakland or SF. Kinda pricey, but it's worth it. I just wish the had the little chewy fish plate.
Our waiter was SUPER SUPER SUPER nice, and even brought us a complimentary dish free of charge! When we were packing up our doggie bag, he came out with an extra stash of kim chee and pickled turnips for us. GO HERE!
I was recommended to try this place. I was led to believe that it was the greatest Korean BBQ place in the east bay. I think part of the problem with getting that much hype is that there is nothing but let down waiting to happen. The side dishes were plenty and most were good. I ordered the pork with special sauce. My wife ordered the beef. It was OK, but definitely not great. The service was good so I can't complain about that. Neighborhood...so so. For the most part, the lower grade was a result of the taste of the food. Nothing special.
It is hard to find good Korean restaurants in this area, but this place is legit. I have been here twice now, and have left this place feeling pretty satisfied both times.
This place is pretty small compared to other Korean restaurants I've been to, but that is not a problem. From what I have witnessed, there's only 1 lady who runs the tables, yet the service seems just fine. Anytime I needed anything else, I was able to get it without having to wait forever.
Now let's get down to the most important aspect-- the FOOD. I would say it is good, but not great. They serve a wide variety of panchan (the side dishes) and they are all tasty. The menu features most of the common Korean dishes, although I was disappointed that they do not have Soon Tofu on there. I was able to try the bulgogi and the kimchi jjigae. I can say with confidence that their bulgogi is the best in the Concord area (although that isn't saying much...). It is marinated just right. Their kimchi jjigae is pretty good, and one positive is that they load it with lots of goods, not just all broth. As far as the flavor, it is good but not comparable to places in the Berkeley/Oakland area.
Overall, I would rate this place a 3.5/5, but since Yelp does now allow it, I give it a 4.
Update: Took my husband here the other day and the tofu pots seemed the only safe thing for him to order. He had the pork and kimchi pot. Meat was fatty. Next time he said he'll just get the seafood tofu pot I always get. Yay! Another Asian restaurant where I don't need to dine alone all the time anymore.
***
Update: I've been here twice alone in three weeks for lunch. Great place to eat alone. The frozen paddock tofu pot is also good at $11.95.
***
I think it's a 4 to 4.5 place, but I really can't find anything wrong to take any stars off so there!
Thanks to Yelpers, another great find. For only $9.95 I had 12 side dishes and a nice fulfilling seafood tofu pot. I was there on a weekday at 1.30. The server was a nice woman, very smiley. The restaurant was clean, nicely air conned, made for a nice lunching experience.
I really want to take my gluten-free husband here but all the meat dishes are marinaded in soy sauce and I don't think the seafood tofu pot is filling enough for him. On the other hand, this is one of those places where I can see myself eating alone time and again.
Bought some groceries next door. What a great find some of the items were!
Will be back at least twice a month.
On the way back to antioch, I stopped by here for lunch with ms Mary Grace. and "boy, oh boy!" did we find a hidden gem.
she had the beef bibimbop $10.95 and we split a bulgogi (i think it was around $15) which came with the usual banchan (mmm my fave!)
we both were very suprised at how delicious everything tasted, everything!
our waitress was super nice too! truely a hidden gem tucked away in the ghettos of monument blvd
