So up until a couple of months ago, my only experience with karaoke was pretty lackluster.You know those Japantown little private rooms where its just a couple of friends and a screen?
Somehow I ended up at an awesomely intimate bar that Bruce was KJ'ing. Very few people were there, all seemingly characters in a David Lynch film (myself included) and we wouldn't have it any other way.
Two drinks later and I sang my first song.
After the initial burning, red faced-humiliation wore off,
I realized I was smiling, and I wanted more.
After all, I've been on a kick lately to try things that are a bit uncomfortable.I'm even getting married soon...but, I digress.
Now, its become a sort of ritual, every Wednesday...and one of my best friends and I look forward to it all week.
Here it is Friday, and I wish it was Wednesday.
The fact that every one of his reviews here is 5 stars is a testament to not only how awesome he is, but how appreciative we are of him.
We love Bruce! -

Bruce DJ-ed our wedding! He did a great job. He brought his own equipment, set up on two different floors (because our wedding went upstairs and then downstairs and then back up again), played a great selection of jazz during dinner, and then opened it up for karaoke during the reception.
Seriously, it sounds crazy, but I highly recommend karaoke for wedding receptions. Watching everyone get up there and drunkenly serenade you really adds something to the experience. -

Bruce of KOR is an absolutely top notch DJ. He is professional in what he does, friendly, respectful, and keeps a fair rotation. He has an extremely large collection of songs and makes PDF files available for download on his website so we can have his song list on our Smartphones.
We attend his events at King of Clubs and would definitely go to other venues to be a part of his events. Every once in a while, he'll jump out of the booth and sing a favorite of his own, which adds even more energy to his events. We highly recommend Bruce and KOR. -

Bruce is a karaoke-loving professional. He's friendly, nice, and very supportive, which is great for the song-shy.
The song-list? Extensive and very well-organized so it's easy to search.
I've never even gone to Cat Club in San Francisco outside of karaoke on Wednesdays. Bruce (and Kor Karaoke) makes the experience so much fun!

Bruce Rogers of KOR Karaoke has got the best song selection I've ever seen. His songlist is the size of a phone book. He's got everything from the Andrews Sisters to ZZ Top.
If a karaoke version of a song exists, chances are Bruce has it (and if not, he can probably get it for you). He's constantly updating his selection, and he even has the more obscure ones that you've always tried to find. (He's the only KJ I know of who has songs from "Hedwig and the Angry Inch," as well as the "Buffy" musical episode.)
In addition, Bruce makes sure everyone has fun and gets a fair turn at singing. He's a true professional at what he does.
Bruce is available for parties and private events, and also spins three nights a week at King of Clubs in Mountain View. So go out and sing! -

I'd been to many karaoke nights, but never felt comfortable enough to get up a sing until I was at Kor Karaoke night at King of Clubs (Bruce is there Thursday, Sunday, and Monday nights). Bruce not only has one of the most eclectic song books I've ever seen, he also makes everyone feel super comfortable and accepted no matter how good or bad you are.
There are a few things that really make Bruce stand out from the KJ crowd beyond just being nice and having a great song selection.
-He puts the current rotation up on a whiteboard so you can always check to see how soon you'll be up. Really nice for smokers so you can judge whether you have time for one more before you're up.
-His website is always kept up to date with the latest song additions as well as being searchable so if you have one of those mid-week "I wonder if he has that one?" moments, you can find out right then. It also lists where he's playing and at what times since he spins at a few different places.
-His tip jar also displays his paypal address so if you don't have enough cash on hand to tip him right there, you can do it online later. Cause you should always tip your KJ!
-There are always plenty of song books available even on a busy night and they're always in good condition and aren't missing pages (unless someone did it that night). Also, at the beginning of the book is a list of all the record labels and a rating on the quality of each so if there's multiple options for one song, you can be sure to pick the best one.
-Bruce always sings in the rotation which I think is totally awesome. He finds the most esoteric songs to sing too so it's very entertaining. :)
-For regulars, he supplies envelopes to save all your slips so you don't have to write them out every night. He keeps them in alphabetized drawers so you can find them easily.
Basically, he's just hands-down the best KJ in the Bay Area, and possibly in all of Northern California. If you like karaoke, you owe it to yourself to go find him! -

Kor Karaoke is amazing!!.. I would give him 10 stars if I could... whenever I go somewhere else for karaoke, they always fail to do as an awesome job as Bruce does. His song selection is fantastic, super professional and his equipment always sound fabulous.
Bruce actually came out to a nearby restaurant to KJ my wedding afterparty and we all had a blast! Stop by and visit whenever he has a Karaoke night.. you wont be disappointed!! -

Kor Karaoke (a.k.a. Bruce Rogers) is the best K.J. I've ever had the pleasure of spinning for me. Kor is a mobile operation, but Bruce currently spins at the King of Clubs in Mountain View and Julie's in SF.
I've been attending Kor Karaoke events at the King of Clubs in Mountain View semiregularly for well over a year, and I never fail to find new music every time I look.
Bruce has an incredible selection of music ranging from a number of Broadway musicals through obscure modern music through retro hard rock and new wave. Yeah, every KJ touches on that stuff, but Kor's lineup is damned near encyclopedic. The few times I've actually missed a song, the disc showed up in his lineup within a month. Kor actually has the full songlist online, which is great for practicing up before a show.
Kor's sound equipment is excellent quality (speaking as a baritonish kind of person, it's especially nice to hear non-suckful pitch-shifting from a karaoke setup) and he's always on top of managing the rotation. In addition, Bruce is quite genial while still maintaing a professional air.
Consider me a fanboy, but I'd follow Kor Karaoke to any venue within reasonable distance. Bruce's events are just that good. -

My Wednesday nights are always spent at the Cat Club, and it's mostly due to Bruce and KOR Karaoke.
Several years ago, I realized that I wanted to sing on a regular basis, but I didn't want to have the obligation of being in a choir or band. I want to be able to show up, sing a few songs, and go home. A friend, who sings regularly at Bruce's shows in Mountain View, invited me along to sing karaoke. I was hooked!
I started with Bruce in SF at Julie's and then when they closed, the whole crowd pretty much moved over to the Cat Club (I'm going to write their review next). Our bartender, Rachel (who doesn't sing often enough), our regulars (me and four or five others) and even some of the other patrons just picked up at Cat Club pretty much where we left off.
Bruce has the greatest song list, and he's always been wonderful about getting songs for me, if he didn't have them. I like his method for managing his rotation of singers. I feel like he tries to get everyone up to sing as soon as he can, and then tries to follow the same order as much as possible.
Besides having such an extensive song list, Bruce's shows (and I've been in San Francisco and in Mountain View) are well attended, but not super crowded (usually). When I've gone to other karaoke bars, it was sometimes hard to get a song in, because they were so busy.
Bruce is friendly and welcomes new people and tries to get to know the people who come to his shows. He's encouraging of those who are shy, and even gives me confidence to try songs that I don't think I can sing.
I occasionally visit other karaoke shows, and I know several of the other KJs around town. I like Bruce's show the best! -

Bruce (KOC Karaoke) is head and shoulders above the rest. His set up is professional, his song selection is huge and constantly being updated. He keeps very fair rotations and is always polite and friendly. I wish this guy got more work, he really deserves it. He isn't flashy; he doesn't put on a show or do stupid gimmicks between songs. The man just does karaoke and he does it well.

We hired Kor Karaoke for a private function at work. Being filipino, I've had my share of Magic Mic parties - Bruce is the best KJ in the area. He has an incredible selection of music that got even our CEO singing at the top of her lungs. The event wouldn't have been have been the same without him!

Kor Karaoke was set up for my 21st birthday and I had a blast! There was a great variety of music; from showtunes to Ave Q to classics like Nat King Cole and the Beatles to Pop like Paramore. We performed some Third Eye Blind, and watched other people have fun all night til the wee hours of the morning. Bruce even got up and did a few numbers. Best birthday I've ever had, and it's alot in part to Bruce and the fun time we had.

bruce is the best KJ ever! he excels at his profession. he has even inspired me and my partner to try to become a great KJ like him. he has an amazing super grande song book and is so savvy on lining us singers up. I live walking distance by two other kareoke joints, but i much prefer to trek across town to sing with Bruce on the decks. thank you Bruce! jason and I love you! xoxxo You are the Man!

I attended a Kor Karakoe event and had a total and complete BLAST!!! Not to mention, the song collection was more comprehensive and organized than any other show of it's kind. If I could afford to follow the show to every venue, I would.

I would give Bruce of KoR Karaoke 6 stars, he is that good. I have found too many other KJ's do not take their job seriously. Bruce is always pleasant and professional with his customers. His song selection and sound equipment are levels above the competition in the South Bay Area. Bruce's skill at managing karaoke is a huge plus and makes the event enjoyable for everyone. By comparison, you will often find a KJ whose sound system consists of a few pages of karaoke CD's, a couple of badly placed speakers and a cheap mic plugged into a laptop computer, and that's it.

I first enjoyed Kor Karaoke at King of Clubs a few years ago. I loved how friendly and laid back Bruce was. Even people who had never sung before got up and had a blast. I have been back to the club a few times and been to several private events where Kor Karaoke was the featured entertainment.
Bruce's selection of songs is great! He has pop, country, rock, show tunes, classics, you name it. Not to mention that every time I go to a Kor Karaoke party I find yet more songs have been added to the library. Plus if you go to his website http://korkaraoke.com/... you can even
browse or search through his song list.
I have never had a bad time at a Kor Karaoke party. If you get a chance to go to any Kor Karaoke event DO IT! You Will find songs you know, and even if you decide not to sing you will absolutely have fun with Bruce as the KJ! -

Kor Karaoke has, by far, the best song selection I've seen! I've been going to their shows at the King of Clubs for over 6 years and have been to private parties that booked them as well. They do their best to make sure that everyone has songs they love to sing and feels comfortable enough to sing them. Bruce, the owner and operator, insists on high quality in both his song selections and sound equipment. He makes sure that you will sound your best, no matter your vocal talent! With Kor Karaoke, it's all about making sure everyone has a good time.

Bruce is the best dang KJ on the planet, hands down. Not only does he have great equipment and a huge selection of music, but his enthusiasm and joy are contagious. We karaoked late into the night, even extending our originally contracted time with Bruce...and he was completely flexible and willing to keep the party going. If you like karaoke and you like to party, Bruce is definitely your man.

KOR Karaoke has a fantastic selection of music; everything one could want, ranging from Sinatra, to top 40, to the utmost zany. I've mostly seen the show happen at the King Of Clubs bar in Mountain View. The sound setup is great, and the KJ is always down to assist should one get too drunk to remember the melodies.
