Try the banana bread beer.. it's on draft. It was delicious.

Good customer service. Good crowd of people in there. Nice casual atmosphere.

Although I'm not a Fells Point regular, I've been to Kooper's a few times and dig the vibe and ambiance. The burgers are the show here - they're tender and delicious - and the sliders are by far my fave.

The only miss I can report are the sweet potato fries. Nothing special there.

But be warned - if you try to devour both an appetizer AND a burger, you're going to feel like a glutinous fool afterwards! (speaking from experience here)

Koopers is known for their great burgers but not so sure their other menu items live up, or even come close, to that reputation. I typically go for their delicious burgers but decided to try their Chicken Tavern sandwich today. It was not great... Do you remember that slogan "Where's the Beef?" Well, I would say "Where's the Chicken?" to this sandwich. The chicken was a super flattened piece of meat that was overpowered by the bread which was much larger than the items in the sandwich. I was disappointed.

We also went during lunch on a Friday and there was 11 of us. They could not fit us all at one table, no biggie. They split us up to 2 tables, 1 table of 7, the other of 4. I was at the table of 7 and it took about 1hr 15 min for them to finally serve us our food. Our table of 4 was done and leaving before we even got our food.

If Koopers only had burgers I may rate this higher, but bc other items on their menu are not great, at least not the Chicken Tavern, and bc of the poor service we received I have to rate this place lower.

Went back in late autumn 2011. Late lunch. Seated at THE perfect table upstairs, overlooking the water. Had a brew, shared some crab dip (which was eh, but went well with the beer) and relaxed. I think it makes the place for me... when you go and the crowd.

One of my most frequent destinations in Fells Point, Kooper's distinguishes itself in the SlainteKoopersWaterfrontRiptide amalgam by having very good burgers, an extensive Belgian beer list, and -- most importantly -- a full menu for late-night dining. If you are eating after 10pm in Fells Point and don't want pizza or a hot dog, Koopers may be your only option. Thankfully, it's a good one.

I typically hit them up Tuesdays (discounted burger night) and Thursdays (discounted Belgian beer night). In my opinion, the must-try burger is the Leon the Griffin (kobe beef, brie, and onion rings).  Goes well with a Belgian or a $2.50 Yellow Tail Ale. Non-burger menu items vary in quality but are generally in line with standard pub fare.

I was craving a burger and couldn't wait any longer for suggestions on the recent thread I posted, so after reading how Kooper's specializes in their burgers we decided to give it a whirl.

Our service was great. We were seated upstairs and although the tables are quite small, we didn't need much more space for just the two of us. Our waters were quickly filled as soon as they got low, and every table upstairs was occupied. We especially loved the fact that even though we were super tired and hungry, we were able to get out of there in less than 45 minutes.

On to the important part: the burger. It did satisfy my craving, but it was just lacking in a couple of areas. I ordered mine medium rare and although it came that way, it was just lukewarm-I like 'em HOT! I ordered the Otis and there was definitely not enough cheese on there for me to be able to taste it. Either that or maybe it is a more generic cheese they use with less flavor. Other than that, it was really big and juicy with a nice big bun to go along with it. I just have one more complaint and that would have to be the fries. They tasted stale, as if they had been previously made and then reheated again. That's a no-no!

They seem to have great deals throughout the week including burgers that start at 4 bucks and "free" buffets (w/ purchase of drink). There seemed to be an oyster bar outside when we walked in. I don't think we'll come back for the burgers, but only because I've learned of other restaurants with burgers that I need to try!

Came here to get burgers with a friend of mine.  The burgers themselves were great (it had better be, especially considering that's what Kooper's is known for).  I got the Bison Burger while my friend had a Kobe burger.  We also had both regular fries and sweet potato fries.  Both were great choices to accompany a burger... Though I would suggest getting regular fries if you want to get a beer with your meal as they complement each other better.

Unfortunately, the service was just horrendous when we went.  Our server seemed more interested in doing things other than actually doing her job.  We had to flag down another server on several occasions to get things like napkins because our waitress was literally nowhere to be found (but she did appear when it was time to give us our check...).

If it wasn't for the horrible service, I'd probably have given a 4 star here.

Having a velociraptor-like lust for a burger on a Sunday, I lurched my way over to Fells Point to hit up Kooper's: what I would describe as a burger destination. Weirdly enough, none of their burgers were catching my eye - either they were too rich-sounding or too gimmicky.

I was almost ready to just build my own when I spied the Gonzo sliders. They didn't ask me how I would like them cooked, and since sliders are so small they have a tendency to be over-cooked and dry I was a bit worried about that. Fortunately they came out medium rare, which I appreciated, but perhaps other less carnivorous people (or dinosaurs) wouldn't.

So why is this a three-star review? The flavors here are disappointing. Kooper's relies too much on toppings, dressings and cheeses and forgets to just cook a good burger. My burgers have always been rather flavorless - worse the temperature they were served was lukewarm. The potato rolls on the sliders didn't add any flavor or temperature as they were not toasted. The dish as a whole was rather flat.

I find the prices a bit much and the ingredients to be a little too flashy (Kobe! Truffle oil!) and the quality to be lacking. But hey, it's Fells, I don't expect too much.

Don't forget to pay for your tab cause the girl will run out and remind you. Kinda embarrassing when you're on the street.

No this wasn't me guys!!! Cheese, give me some credit :-)

Cute place right along the dock where they have food and drink specials during Raven's games. But a 22 oz beer for $5? I can't even drink that much wheat!!!

Stopped in just to have some crab cakes. Baltimore definitely has the largest crab cakes.  they're the size of a large muffin top off of Costco sized muffins, possibly even a little bigger!

These crab cakes where really crab filled with large chunks of lump crab meat.  They were enormous.  One can easily be big enough as a meal, especially if you factor in their sides.  We had their veggie mix and red bliss mash potatoes.  YUM.  All of it.

As an added bonus Kooper's had a guy shucking oysters out front for a $1 a piece.  They were river oysters that were super full with a lot of flavor.  I liked how they jazzed up their cocktail sauce and flavored it like a bloody Mary.  What a deal :)

Came here for lunch with SX.

SX had the lamb burger topped with tzatziki-like sauce. Burger was cooked a bit longer than what it was ordered. My burger was cooked fine, however it wasn't as juicy as I would have liked it. In addition, the brie cheese on my burger was mostly rind. They took the baby wheel of brie and cut in into thin circles, as a result, I got stick with an entire face of rind... which, all brie lovers know that the creme de la creme of brie is the center of the brie. As you branch out closer to the rind, you don't get to delight in the luxurious creaminess of the brie, especially if heat is involved, what little creamy part of the cheese I had had melted away to nothingness and only the rind reminded.

Service was quite friendly and hospitable.

The burgers and the price set makes it a pretty good lunch deal. However, I still feel that the overall quality of the burger is still a bit mediocre compared to other specialty-burger joints. So compared to other sit-down burger joints, I can only give it 3 stars while Kooper's roaming burger truck gets a star more from me.

Echoing what other reviewers have put - the Kobe burger (my normal burger), along with the rest, are some of the best burgers in Baltimore.  Get a beer, get a burger and enjoy the night with some friends.

I can say this is a great place for groups.  We've hosted a few birthday dinners and they've always split the check on our 10+ person groups (and  I realize that it gets irritating to split the check with that many people)

Kooper's is probably the best burger bar in fell's point. They offer an array of options for burgers from Kobe beef to black Angus everything in between. And there is beer , beer and burgers is a amazing pairing , so kooper's has found a lot of solid micro-brewed options to sample from.

As for the style of the burgers this is what Kooper's does best. There are options for sorts of burgers , Lamb is awesomely prepared in a burger here. My favorite is the Billy's Kobe : Roaster garlic cream cheese,  arugula, apple-smoked bacon and truffle oil ; awesome!

There is other food fairs here but people I know come here for the burgers.

There is also an excellent brunch menu and should be checked out if your in the area. OR look for their food truck.

I can't really say anything that hasn't already been said before.  Their beer selection was great, outdoor patio is good for people watching, and I loved the menu items I tried--crab cakes and crab soup (the milk-based one not the tomato-based).

The only negative of my experience was the fact that we showed up 7 minutes late for Brunch and bottomless Mimosa's. I would love to come back here if I were ever in the area again.

We went to eat the famous burgers at Kooper's Tavern, and although the burger was great, I was even more impressed with their amazing bloody marys. (not the bottomless ones but the Koopers Tavern Shana's Special bloody mary) It was seriously the best bloody mary I have ever had! I've had plenty of mediocre bloody marys that taste like V8 out of the can with a celery stuck in it, but this bloody mary was just right with a spicy kick and finished off with the old bay rim. The perfect addition to a great brunch! Yum!

The hubby and I were here over the July 4th weekend for brunch and I was so glad we stopped here after walking by so many other choices. He got the Belgium Waffle with Honey-Whipped Butter and I got the Cinnamon-Vanilla Brioche French Toast and we were both very happy with our choices! They both came with sides of fruit and I even got the same honey butter.

We also paid $10 each for bottomless mimosas- WINNING!

    Tuesday Burger Night, sure.

Kooper's Chowhound Burger Wagon, let's find it.

I try to like this place but, two of the five times i've been there, I got ripped off on my bill about 15 dollars worth and they gave me poor excuses about not being able to fix it...bullshit...And the other time I just had some bad service. I mean I know waitresses have it rough so i'll let her off easy it was pretty damn busy as usual, but the one bartender just needs to wipe the shit eating grin off her face, I wasn't even rude and I got the hairy eyeball the entire visit. I apologize to the lady I am speaking of if you're reading this but, I don't know what I did to bring the demons out of you....it must be my face...sssssshhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiit.

I guess it is what it is.  Their burgers are quite delicious, so definitely check em' out.  You can even go to their website to find out where the burger wagon is which I would do for sho.

I'm sure i'll go back soon enough, so maybe i'll change my review after my next visit.  If they're lucky, since my opinion amounts to...derr..."diddly squat?"

I was never a huge fan of Kooper's in general*, but their Tuesday night Burger special ($3.50 for a burger the size of your head) was hard, if not impossible to beat.  And it wasn't just a big and cheap burger, but really good quality too.  The problem is that everyone else in the neighborhood knew about this as well, so the place would get absolutely slammed, making finding a seat a near impossibility.

*there's absolutely nothing wrong with the place, it just wasn't my scene.  I don't think I listen to enough Jack Johnson or shop at American Eagle enough to fit in here.

I visit Baltimore regularly - and Abbey Burger Bistro is my normal stop for a good burger.  Most recent trip I visited Abbey one day and Kooper's the next.  Both burgers were good but they could not be more different.

Had a patty melt type burger at Abbey on rye bread - the burger was hand patted and more of the shape of a hockey puck.  I order my burgers rare.

Stopped by Koopers on a cold December night.  Ordered a cup of Maryland Crab soup and the bison burger (again rare).  Kooper's burger was a thinner, rounder shape (maybe machine processed?) and was obviously a little more cooked through.  Burger was very good.  Crab soup was fine, but didn't consider it memorable.

Enjoyed Koopers, good burger, would definitely stop back if in Fells Point and looking for a bite.  Service was friendly and quick.  However, if I'm making a special trip for an excellent burger -- I'm heading back to the Abbey in Federal Hill.

Came here for a late Saturday lunch (around 2:30pm) and the place was packed. But luckily, there was a couple leaving and we were able to get a table upstairs by the window for two right away.

I had sliders (medium)  - 3 came out with 2 pickles. It was juicy with cheese oozing out. I usually don't order burgers but these were yummy! My husband ordered MacGuinness burger and he said it was just o-kay. Fries were pretty good but they gave waaaaay too little.

Overall, the burgers were okay and the beers were good. If we are craving burgers and beers and happens to be in Fell's Point, we will stop.

Bottomless mimosas for $10 was pretty cool, but the food was so so so so terrible that I cannot bring myself to give this place a good review. I had the cajun omelette. How can a cajun omelette be flavorless? Kooper's Tavern managed to pull it off! My friend had the crab omelette. It tasted like crab, eggs, no salt, and nothing else to it. Totally gross! I will never ever ever go to brunch here again, and would never ever recommend this place to anyone....not even to people I dislike.

As a brunch fanatic, I was eager to try brunch at City Paper's "best". Sunday morning brunch in Baltimore is best paired with Mimosas. Unfortunately, Kooper's was out of champagne; something that should never occur during the brunch hour. Instead, I opted for coffee and it was quite delicious and served in a french press. The best part about an Eggs Benedict is the perfectly poached egg, which Kooper's was unable to produce. The eggs were over-cooked and not nearly up to par. I might go back, but I won't trust the cook with my eggs. Their Tuesday burger night is a better bet.

Yes, I'm serious.  I disagree with the hype.

    Average.

I'll try it again some day.  Until that day, my memories will be haunted by an overcooked, under-seasoned burnt puck of a burger.  Ordered medium and received just over well done.  Not great.

I wish I hadn't missed the board from the Homicide squad room while I was there!

Fries were of the coated variety.

I was misled into going here thinking they'd have a good burger... I'm sorry, if you have a hard time finding a better burger in Baltimore we should all pack up and go home now.

My burger was cooked right, but tasted about as bland as can be.  It needed salt and pepper, did the kitchen run out???   The fries needed salt too.  It was gross as they served it.  Barely serviceable.

The menu had stupid names for variations of the same burger... My mushroom and swiss burger was named "Mojo" ?? Uhh, OK. whatever.  The menu itself was nearly impossible to read in some parts due to the lack of contrasting background.  And I'm not 40 with bad eye site, they just are probably too stupid to even read their own menu.

The service was not great either...  $37 for 2 drinks, 2 burgers.  Blah.

Definitely going on my list of places to hit when I'm back in Baltimore. My first visit here came on a bitterly cold afternoon with the wind coming right off the water and pushing me around the sidewalk. I was walking around with some lifelong Southerners who really abhor cold weather. We stopped in to Kooper's to refuel and thaw out the Floridians in the gang.

Even though it was a bit early for lunch, we had great service and our food was ready very quickly. I think our waitress could tell we needed some soup right away...The atmosphere at Kooper's was friendly and inviting, and the meal was exactly the kind of comfort food a bar should have. I'd be just as comfortable with a group drinking beers for hours here watching a game or having a good burger with co-workers.

We were in the mood for burgers and trusting Yelp - we were lead to Kooper's!  The burgers were well cooked.  I had the Kobe and my friend had the Guiness.  We were both VERY happy and satisfied with our meals.  But what was MOST impressive was the beer selection.  I know my beer so it was really fun to read all the different micros from different countries - it was quite a readling list.

Service was great and I would definitely recommend among the other places in Fell's.

    The Good:
    - Above average burgers
    - Decent selection of beer
    - They give you Zeke's coffee in your very own French press

    The Bad:
    - Their brunch omelettes are all around $12 and are RIDICULOUSLY TINY.  About the side of grown man's palm and no thicker than a bar of soap.  For $12 I expected my Spanish omelette to be the size of a new born baby.  Very, very disappointing.
    - Bad satellite radio station was on way too loud during brunch
    - Stringy and chewy chorizo
    - Coffee is $3.50.  Granted you get an entire French press full of delicious Zeke's coffee but what ever happened to the sub $2 bottomless cup that's standard at every other restaurant that serves brunch?

    Is this place for you?
A good place to grab a beer but avoid their brunch at all costs.  I could have easily eaten two omelettes but I didn't want to spend $30 on breakfast.  If you're looking for breakfast in Fells, do yourself a favor and go to Blue Moon or Jimmy's.

I rarely get burgers when I go out, but i made a stop out with a buddy yesterday evening for burgers and beer. Of course i've had the pleasure of having one of their burgers from the Chowhound wagon once before.

I ended up getting the Bison burger(get it medium rare as it's pretty lean and if you order medium, you'll find well done meat) and a Guinness. The fries that come with these burgers, are like a cross between curly fries(taste-wise) and homefries. AWESOME fries... i wish they gave you more of them.

Anyways, solid burgers, solid beer, great location in Fells. Definitely a fan.

Not air conditioned! We went in on a 90deg, 70% Humidity day. The seating was uncomfortable, the place hot and muggy, the drinks were cold, bartender wasn't very good, we sent back one sugary/syrupy Mojito, and the Nacho's would be better with more toppings - three drinks and skimpy Nacho's cost more than dinner at Hibachi Grill and Buffet (see that review!).

Since we moved to Baltimore earlier this year, Kooper's has become our favorite place in Fells Point for an easy weekend lunch or dinner.  The burgers are very well done, the beer selection is huge, and the pizzas are pretty good too.  Plus, their TVs usually show college football games on Saturday afternoons and evenings, which makes the bar a good place to hang out when the couch at home starts to get a few too many cheese doodles between the cushions.

We haven't had a totally smooth ride with Kooper's, however.  One of our meals was tainted by the presence of a plastic salad dressing bottle security seal in my fiancee's salad, and another visit resulted in a 30-minute wait for service, even though the restaurant was empty (we were told the waitstaff was extremely busy with a large private party that had just begun).  I'm willing to forgive those faux pas moments since the core of their business -- burgers, beer and pizza -- has been so satisfying for us.  If you're in Fells Point and you're looking for a solid meal that doesn't require a lot of thought, Kooper's is perfect.

Try to get a seat in the (much quieter) upstairs dining room if it's open.  There's much less street noise and bar service might be quicker since the upstairs bar has many fewer stools than the one downstairs.

You walk by Fells Point park which seems like a nice place to relax
and watch the seagulls fly around the bay. I would imagine it's a gathering place when the weather is nice.

We went on a Sunday afternoon for Brunch. I had the Lump Crab Omelet which was an adequate portion but just   fair tasting.I was expecting some lump crab in my omelet, but alas, not to be.
It comes with your coice of toast and hash browns. The Blue Crab soup was very falvorful.

My son had the steak and eggs which is what I should have had. The steak was a nice loin cut, very juicy and tender.

Even though it was busy, we were seated quickly and had service almost immediately.

As you've learned from other Yelper's they have a decent bar with many stools, nice selection of druaght beer. A few tables down stairs.

After our meal, we took a stroll upstairs to check out the view of the bay. They have a smaller bar and dining room upstairs as well.

I was intrigued by some of their draught beers, Holy Sheet and Heavy Seas by Clipper Brewing.

I would come back if I'm going to check out an Orioles game maybe sit outside and sip a cold one.

Just got off the water taxi looking for a place to get lunch.  Immediately saw Kooper's Tavern, which I had heard of, and went in and got a seat.  The staff was very nice and the service was attentive but never rushed.  I ordered the Bison Burger w/fries and my Mother got a grilled Grouper sandwich w/sweet potato fries.  We both loved our choices.  I liked the decor of the place, nice, cozy with alot of wood.  I would definitely go back again.

I had no idea that you could cream a crab.  But they do it, and it will have you licking the bowl!  The other crab soup is good, but it's more like veggie soup with some crab bits in it.
Great location, friendly staff, prompt food, and when I was there, rockin' 80's music.  Sit upstairs if you want to get away from the cigarettes, and check out the view of the water taxis.

My posse and I have started a tradition of gathering for bottomless mimosa brunches whenever we see each other and this place was the lucky winner for our Baltimore Bottomless Brunch Bonanza.  Our waitress warned us that the window for bottomless mimosas ended in an hour and fifteen minutes, but we are career mimosa drinkers and DON'T YOU WORRY -- we got our $10's worth. And then some.

Bonus: We were a group of eight so the mimosas came by the pitcher. I dunno if that's the way they roll for smaller parties but I think she knew we meant business.

The food: Perfectly delicious. I liked that my omlette wasn't a 75 egg monstrosity and that sausage or bacon came with most (all?) of the brunch entrees.

I was not disappointed at all and i would gladly go back. The food was good and the price wasnt too bad but its just hard to compare to the caliber of food in the surrounding area.

We ended up here for brunch on Sunday, our last day in Baltimore.  It was sunny and beautiful, and luckily an outdoor spot was available.

I had the BBQ pulled pork omelet, and my husband had the crab omelet - both awesome!  The BBQ sauce was a little bit spicy, a little bit vinegar-y and not as thick as most sauces.  Just how I like it!  Served with plenty of meat, but had I known it was so good, I probably would have opted for the sandwich instead!  Crab omelet was also well stocked with chunks of crab and tasted great.

The Crush drinks are also very good and a must-try!

I will say, though, that the service was a bit lacking - it took quite a while for anyone to come to our table after we were seated, and once we received the first round of drinks and our food (which came out pretty quickly), she never bothered to come back and see if we wanted another round or more water or anything.

Went Saturday a.m. for bunch, which is by far my favorite thing to do. I love that it is named after the family's yellow lab, and he is the theme. So cute.

Our waitress was kind of a space shot, but she was nice enough. Everyone's breakfasts were BEAUTIFUL (we were SOO hungry). My friend had the Belgian Waffle, another the spinach omelette- it wasn't big, but she said it did the job- and I had the vanilla cinnamon french toast. MMMMM.

Also, it was bottomless mimosas or bloody mary's for $10. It only takes 2 to get your moneys worth, but seriously, who only has two!
