Review from Amber s.
Austin, TX
I lived in Bastrop for 5 years before I ever tried Konstantino's.
I want those five years back!
You don't have to know whether you like Greek food or not to give this place a try. All you have to do is like food. I've eaten their souvlaki, their gyros, their trout, their fetuccini, their baklava, and their hummus and it's all been spectacular. In fact, I have been known to order hummus and pita just as a snack on the weekends--it's the best hummus I've ever had, and as an ex Austin hippie I've eaten an awful lot of hummus.
If you do go, make sure you get a chance to talk with Tony. I don't know exactly what Tony's function is at the restaurant--perhaps he's like a maitre'd. What I do know is that he's chalk full of well-rehearsed, hilarious stories about his family that will engage you and keep you chuckling even as he pours you another round of hefeweisen and walks away. Gregarious and charming, I look forward to visiting with him as much as I do devouring a plate of wonderful Greek cuisine.
If you've only ever had baklava from the grocery store or even a decent bakery, do yourself a favor and order some of this stuff--this is the real deal. Not overly sweet, this baklava tastes of honey and cinnamon. it's not just goopy sweetness. It's flaky and spicy, and only pleasantly sweet. It makes a wonderful end to a delightful meal. You'll be glad you tried it.
And if you do order anything that comes with tzitziki, make sure you try it, even if you don't normally like it. It's fresh yogurt and cucumber, and it's wonderful. -

I had been searching for good Greek food in Austin for a while now so on the 2 previous reviews I decided to try this place the next time we went hiking at Lost Pines since we would be passing it on the way home.
Ok maybe it was my raging hunger but I think this place serves the best Greek food I have had in Austin so far.
My friend and I started with the perfectly prepared Hummus and shared a plate of Mousaka and the Filet Mignon with a peppercorn brandy sauce with Greek potatoes and vegetables. Everything was delicious and the service was very friendly.
I will definitely be back to try the eggplant parmigiana.
And I loved that they have a wine pairing suggestion for each entree! -

The food was exquisite. Service was great. I had the gyros and a greek salad. My friend had eggplant parmigiana .Everything was so tasty. Iced tea was freshly brewed and the feta cheese was to die for.
They had a wonderful wine list and you should try the baklava.Listed in: Top Restaurants

Review from Camron R.
Met my aunt and uncle at Konstantinos a while back for some Greek cuisine. My uncle and I shared two bottles of Merlot. I broke two wine glasses and wasn't kicked out, so the place is cool by my standards. We had the Greek Sampler for an appetizer and it was delicious. I had the mousaka, which is what I always get at Greek restaurants. It was probably the best I'd ever had. Everyone said their meal tasted great. The service was really good i.e. lot's of cute, young girls running around wearing ties. After our meal the chef came out and talked to us for about 10 minutes about how he prepared our food and where he went to school, etc. That was a really nice and welcoming gesture. The ambience is about as classy as a place can be when it's located in a strip mall. It's somewhat hard to find, unless you know exactly where you're going. If you're driving toward Bastrop it's on the left side of 71. And it's definitely worth the drive if you live in South Austin.
