I usually stop at this place for about an hour (since its out there) when I visit Clear Lake State Park. This is a very small casino a few miles from the state park and downtown.
You win some you lose some... but can't go wrong with a free fountain soda machine on a hot 100+ degree day. The casino does have a players club for daily drawings and comps. Must be present to win.
I haven't had any of the food here but judging by its size, location and other reviews here I'd rather drive a few miles further out for food. -

This is an odd review in that it's of the banquet facilities at this particular casino. That's the only experience I have because traveling to and from this place feels like going through a third-world war zone so the only reason I like to go there is because someone insists I attend a banquet. Ugh.
Well, the journey doesn't warrant the result. Last night the Chamber had their banquet here and the staff was just completely ill prepared for the event. They were so incredibly short-staffed and the staff that were there were almost uniformly incompetent and couldn't have cared less.
Upon arrival there was a bar set up but no bartender until someone made enough of a stink that they got their only on-staff bartender out of the casino, leaving that bar attended by someone who seemed to know nothing.
Finally, after setting up our banquet bar we realized that the casino bartender could be persuaded out of premium beers for just $2.50. That was cool.
Finally the food arrived and they tried to feed something like 150 people with a single-sided buffet line. The entrees were steak with shrimp and a pasta-wrapped chicken.
The steak was pretty tasty although the shrimp was way overcooked but the chicken dish was pretty bland. There was also a vegan salad that featured tofu that was also pretty decent.
While most of the staff seemed ill prepared and uncaring, the gentleman that I perceive to be the banquet captain knew what he was doing and hopped right on getting us water at our table after we asked him. He was Johnny on the spot with any request and seemed well versed at corralling the pregnant and poorly prepared staff. Gotta love the fact that pregnant women work in a place that smells like a cigarette testing facility.
This is almost a complete duplication of my last experience there which was another banquet.
Unfortunately I couldn't recommend this place for banquets just because they seem almost surprised when people show-up. Sort of like a goof like me inviting supermodels and then not being prepared when they arrive - heck, you just didn't expect them to be there. But considering the neighborhood you have to survive to get to this place, maybe there's a reason the staff is so shocked when 150 people actually show-up for an event. -

Dont eat here, the food was bad and the service worst.
I can not figure out how these people make money, everyone was standing around, bored!
Plenty of slots the same you see everywhere. -

This review is for the Ku-Hu-Gui Cafe restaurant that is in the casino. The casino was fine--mostly slots, but I have a less than favorable review of the restaurant.
I ordered the fried chicken. The taste was okay, but the chicken parts looked like they came from a midget chicken or something. . . I'm not kidding, this was the smallest drumstick I think I've had in my life outside of a cornish hen. It came with fries and ho-hum veggies.
The food overall was fair, but the service was the pits. We had to wait long periods of time before the waitress paid attention to us to take our order, fill our drinks, get the check, etc. There were several servers and the restaurant was small, so we couldn't understand the hold up.
Usually, food at casinos tends to be pretty decent in our experience, but this was sub par. I say Ku-Hu-Phooey--not recommended. -

What can I say? It's a casino. Seen one, seen them all. Nothing special about this one. It takes your money just like the rest of them do.

Place is a dump! That's it.
On the other hand the two other casinos in the county where much nicer. -

This place was a hoot! It is a total dive but then again maybe all tribal casinos are like this? We stayed long enough to deposit a few 20s and get plenty of stares from the obvious locals (who were weirdly protective of their slot machines). It was fun! Definitely you should stop by this place if you are in the area and in need of $18.00 carton of cigs.
