This store is so lovely and warm and delightful. Shop here for the perfect, unique gift or to treat yourself. I always welcome the chance to stop in.
Awesome store and great addition to the neighborhood. Sherri is really nice and there are so many great things that are hard to come by. And lots of great things to lust after.
if RR#1 is the 'everything for everyone' store, then Komoda is the more edited version. (IMO)
i like their focus on local artists and the aesthetic is less kitsch than eccentric, without losing a grasp on what looks really really good. and they just don't carry girl stuff, either.
Let's see - fell in love with a purse, Christmas cards, a ring, necklace, a wallet, a couple of books and a candle. Only left with the Christmas cards, ring and the candle - yep - all for me.
I love stores like this, where there is so much to look at, out nothing is out of place. There is something for every price point, and Sherri is awesome and so wonderful.
I think I'll go back and buy things for other people next time....

Oh Komoda--thank you for keeping me away from places like Target when I need to pick up a quick birthday/anniversary/baptism/christmas/anyday present! It's so cliche but yes, there really is something for everyone here! I especially love the selection of locally-made items (purses, soaps, cards, baby bibs). Sherri (who I don't know personally, but always wave to through the winder) is very kind and knowledgable and does such a lovely job wrapping my purchases.

What a great shop... You will definitely find something for everyone on your list for every occasion on their's. Got tons of awesome little Christmas gifts that no one will probably ever find in other stores. Stop and grab some coffee at Star Lounge first--you will need it. There is so much to see at Komoda you might there awhile trying to decide.
I love this place! Sherri is always super kind and helpful. Her store is filled with all sorts of cool little gifts. (Lots of stuff from local chicago artists - who I love to support) I got some earrings for my sister here. I will definately go back for more ... I've got my eye on a little mushroom kitchen timer.

Recently out at dinner with a friend, I found out that Sherri had left RR#1 and moved westward ho out to Humboldt Park. I checked out Komoda the next day, and have got to say that going in and seeing her and the dog was worth the journey. This comes from the fact that for the last four years, I have selected almost all gifts for family and friends with Sherri's help. If you want to bring business to a shopkeeper with impeccable and eclectic taste in gifts, who is helpful and friendly and remembers you and what you bought last time, Komoda is your place.

Komoda is very cute. I stopped in yesterday on my way home to check it out since I had been eyeing it for months but only walked by when it was closed. It's another one of those "perfect place to buy a gift" shops. The variety of products are nice, but I didn't see anything yesterday that screamed "must have". I will wait for the new inventory and go from there.

A new shop offering "gifts for you and yours" has just opened its doors. Komoda is owned by Sherri Gregorczyk, formerly of RR#1. The space, an old hardware store, has a fresh paint job, & modern fixtures, and products for those that love all aspects of good design.
Cards & wrapping, jewelry by local artists, edgy accessories, and soaps and lotions for all.

Welcome to Komoda! Sherri DeYoung-Gregorczyk is the owner and has a wonderful eye for putting it all together. This new gift store on the southwest corner of Chicago Ave at Fairfield in West Ukrainian Village welcomes you with big inviting windows full of fabulous gifts.
Stop by and welcome Sherri (formerly of RR#1) to the neighborhood, she deserves your support! She is such a nice, helpful person that will help you with your selections. This store is a must see!
This is a charming store and a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Support your independent businesses and you can expect more wonderful stores such as this!
