Mr. Kohout is a farmer with a dedicated plot available for camping.  You check in at his house, fill out a liability form, pay the fee, and pick a spot.

The camp area is right along the banks of the Castle Rock river, near the tiny town of Castle Rock.  The Castle Rock is famous for it's above average trout and historic status as one of Wi's first catch and release trout creeks.  And it's one hell of a beautiful spot to setup camp, with the sound of the bubbling spring creek, trout leaping out of the water, limestone bluffs and even an occasional bald eagle soaring overhead.  If you want to do some flyfishing for picky spring creek trout, this places makes a great base for exploration.

As far as campgrounds go, this is as basic as it gets- a spider infested one-holer pit toilet, no running water or electricity, cows occasionally pastured in the campground with expected cow pie consequences, etc.  But since this area has such a surprisingly small number of options for camping, and Mr. Kohout's property is amazingly beautiful, I give it 4 stars.  Plus it's not exactly on the beaten path, so you can reasonably expect to have it all to yourself!
