Hubby and I went here early one morning after getting off of work. It was packed and because of that, we kinda had some high hopes for this place (plus all of the good stuff we've been hearing). I ended up getting the ham, cheese and mushroom omelot with fried rice and the hubby got steak and eggs with fried potatos and a side of fried rice. On the receipt it said short stack pecan pancakes instead of fried potatos so he had to tell the girl that brought the food out about it.
I was surprised when we finally got all of our food because we got everything we ordered and the short stack of pancakes! I'm not gonna complain about getting extra food though, especially when you don't have to pay for it because boy was I happy with those pancakes. I'm not super crazy about pecans, but wow. I couldn't stop myself from eating those pancakes even after I finished my omelette and half of my fried rice (they give you a lot and I coudln't finish it all). The omelette was delicious! It had a good amount of everything in it and was cooked perfectly. The fried rice was pretty generic for breakfast fried rice, but still good and they give you a ton of it. Overall, I was really happy with my meal.
A few things we weren't too happy about (mostly my husband) was that the steak wasn't really that good. It could have used a lot more seasoning and the same goes for the potatos. Hubby said his scrambled eggs could have used some seasoning as well.
I'm giving this place 4 stars though because the service was good (the cashier girl that took our order was extremely friendly, which is really nice early in the morning when you just got done working a grave yard shift) and those delicious heavenly pancakes! Nice and fluffy and yummy just like pancakes should be. I'm getting hungry just thinking about them!

The pancakes are good, but I hated the scrambled eggs (not made from whole eggs), bacon (oily & limp), and sausage (oily & terrible flavor).
If you want more than pancakes, head across the parking lot to Hapa Grill.
Pretty good breakfast in Kapolei. The pancakes are decent, but nothing special. The eggs were overcooked, but good, and the Portuguese sausage was good too.
I think the best part is not having to cook for yourself.
so there's this really nice girl that doesn't make me feel like a complete retard when i savor my food in the mornings.. i'd like to thank her. i forgot her name, but i'm gonna upload a picture i took so that she gets credit for her EXCELLENT customer service, & smiling face early in the morning!
sometimes, i hate smiling back because i'm cranky, ahah, but THANK YOU nice girl that works in the morning ^___^
I LOVE IT HERE. it's clean, portions are awesome, and it's the best place for my grumpy ass to wake up.
dear mr. koa pancake house,
i'd just like you to know that the reason that i'm not here every day for every meal, is because i don't want to get fat..
but if i could, man, i'd be here ALL DAY!!!
thanks koa, for the best pancakes in kapolei ^___^

Came here for breakfast today. It just recently opened and of course it was crowded so we got our order to go. Since I have already eaten pancakes from Koa Pancake House Waipahu (don't ever want to go back there), I thought I would try something new - 1st mistake.
I ordered their banana crepes and my hubby got their 5 stack chocolate chip pancakes. I finished half of mine, didn't really like it. I wouldn't order this again. Tasted my husband's food, their cc pancakes were too sweet for me and I like my sweets. The service was good and someone was opening the door for patrons coming in and out.
The food is okay here. I'll try their fried rice and corn beef hash next time. It's just nice that we have a breakfast place to dine at besides Zippy's, Starbucks and Jamba Juice.

The portuguese sausage and sweet bread french toast are superb. And this place is so cheap. The four of us dined for the cost of 1 breakfast dish at the hotel. You really cant go wrong.
Lot's for bang for the buck, portions are great. Not exactly take out, but not exactly sit down either. You order at the counter, they bring the food to you, you buss your own tables. Food is good for the price. I had the Eggs Benedict, it's decent, I like it better at Hapa Grill in the same plaza. Their Pancakes...what they're known for are good, fluffy, huge! Coffee's not so good.
Had breakfast at Koa pancake a few times over my vacation. Definetely a good place to eat. Good portions, Good prices. Service was always fast and friendly. The pancakes were the best.
