I loved the day I spent at the Knoxville Zoo. Here are some of my favorite videos for your enjoyment taken on 6-24-2009:

Black Bears Water Play, Part 2: Watch 2 of the 4 Black Bears enjoy themselves in the cool water on a hot summer's day. One bear sure is having fun splashing around. Then they have a stare-down fight.  http://www.associatedc...

Black Bears Water Play, Part 3: Watch two of the four Black Bears enjoy themselves in the cool water on a hot summer's day. One bear finally decides to leave the water and stares at the people watching him. See how his fur glistens in the sunlight. http://www.associatedc...

Black Bear Pacing: Watch the Black Bear pace back and forth, back and forth at the Knoxville Zoo. He looks like he is thinking hard. Perhaps he's solving all the world's problems. http://www.associatedc...

Bears Doing What Bears Do, Part 1: A male bear pursues a female bear, knocking another bear out of the way. The female keeps walking. The male continues 'piggy back ride'. Watching kid asks why big bear is biting little bear. http://www.associatedc...

Elephants Sweep Floor to Gobble Green Hay: Watch the two Elephants sweep the floor for green-colored hay. One source says they eat 125 pound of food each day and drink about 30 gallons of water. I wonder how many pounds of hay they ate during this video? http://www.associatedc...

I'm from Cincinnati, so... You know. This is a good medium sized zoo. Most of their pens are pretty natural feeling and clean. Not bad, at all. It's very hilly, so bring you tennis shoes.

Probably one of the best Zoos I've been to.  A healthy assortment of animals and creatures that are in an environment that doesn't convey that awkward sense of exploitation.

You can truly visit here for both entertainment and educational purposes.  The creatures all seem in good spirits and well taken care of.  The pricing is reasonable.  You can go there alone or with many people, young or old.  An overall impressive experience.

Great zoo; much better than others I've been to.   Large enclosures, well-trained staff, and animals seem healthy and happy.
