This 4 stars is for their lunch/dinner, NOT their breakfast which still has 5 stars.  I finally came back for dinner with my fiance and got a Turkey Burger Combo with Provolone.  The burger was AMAZING! i love their turkey patty and I made sure to send them a comment card that also said that.  The only reason they lose a star is for their lackluster fries.

Anyone that knows me knows that when I put ketchup on my fries, its because they taste like cardboard alone.  Lets just say, I had a few fries with my ketchup.

overall though, I'd still go back.  They tasted pretty good with ketchup! beware going on a Friday night as the place is filled with high schoolers getting dinner before going to Cinema City.

    Listed in: UH-MAZ-ING Breakfast!

Looking to satisfy a good burger fix? This is the place. I wouldn't say it was the World's Best though as they allege.

Bacon Cheeseburger is always a favorite and at this one, the bacon was crisp, and tasted fresh almost as if it was made for my burger, not sitting in some holding bin. Condiments tasted fresh and the bun held up well against all that was stuffed inside. Hubby favors the Frisco burger and he said that it tasted better for some reason than the one that is offered at the Fullerton location.

Irish Nachos are a must. Who doesn't love Fries, cheese and bacon all on the same plate?? Onions rings are nice and crispy and not too greasy. A few beers on tap and they offer pitchers which is nice.

As far as the seating, they definitely need to upgrade/update this area along with some good ol' elbow grease. We sat next to a window and the corners looked like they hadn't seen a wipe down in weeks.

Few arcade games for the kiddies (or the kiddie inside of us all) and outdoor patio seating.

I had their signature burger - meh...
It was completely unremarkable.  The beef was tasteless, the bun was falling apart, the produce was good and the grilled onions tasted like they came from a can.  The fries were no better than average.  If I had to guess it seems like they're cutting corners to cut costs.  It shows in the quality of the product.

My wife had the fish and chips and didn't care for it.  Each piece of fish tasted different than the others.  Again, her fries were meh.

Something was wrong with the Pepsi - both regular and diet.  They just didn't taste right.

Too bad.  I really want to like this place.  I used to come here as a kid when you ate outside on the redwood picnic benches set in the gravel under the tree.  I want it to be like it was when I was a kid and I thought they had the best burgers in the entire world...

    I love Knowlwoods!
The Frisco burger is my favorite burger ever! The bun they use is always soft and fresh. I have tried the new places like the habit and wise guys but they cannot beat the classic Knowlwoods.
    Employees are nice and fast.
(It would be nice if they remodeled, it has been a while.)
    Thanks Knowlwoods, your the best!

I've been going here at least once a week for the last few months.  I am hooked on the salmon tacos!  They are overflowing with salmon and very filling.  I always get great service and it seems to be clean.  I have never gone in the bathroom so I can't comment on that.  Occasionally there are tables that haven't been wiped down.  On a beautiful day it's nice to sit in the patio.

this place is good if you know what to order....When you think Anaheim Hills you might think of rich nice looking people who eat healthy..but no. This place has tons of overweight people eating a bunch of fried food. Tsk tsk..

Atmosphere: looks like an old school southern kind of place to eat. There are picnic tables in the inside and they do have outside seating. Also, there is a pool table and air hockey in the main dining area.

They have a good selection of beers!
Their Frisco Deluxe sandwich is good; I recommend that for first-timers.

Chicken strips & fries are ok....you don't get much chicken strips for $6 which is a little disappointing.

DO NOT get their fried zucchinis. Seriously.. If you're thinking "hey, that sounds somewhat healthy!" and are about to order those...well THINK AGAIN. They look like a good deal when you see them, but in reality those zucchinis are wayyyy too deep fried. I thought it was pretty gross how deep fried they are.. I didn't expect that at all. I just ended up eating the zucchini and teared off all the fried stuff on the outside.
I've had GOOD fried zucchini before and this place does not know how to cook them :(

Overall, food is alright...but it's not a very healthy place to eat at.

Bumping them up! My leasing company at work treated my office to lunch, catered by Knowlwood. We had the choice of a cheeseburger, a veggie burger, or chicken cesar salad.

I went with veggie. Waited in line as they cooked all the food fresh in our parking lot. Was served a hot veggie burger with freshly fried fries.

The fries were great. Crisp on the outside and very soft inside, good amount of salt. The veggie burger was delish! I'd never had a veggie burger in my life, but I decided to try it, and I was very impressed. It was also served on a whole wheat bun.

I will definitely go to Knowlwood again, and I will be ordering a veggie burger!

I've been coming here ever since I could remember. And have been happy 99% of the time.
the 1% is the sparingly times where they might have slightly over cooked my Irish Nachos or a small error. But know one is perfect all the time.
Irish Nachos are almost the only  thing i get but my husband eats a wide variety of their food and is always happy. Service is always good and quick. Never leave unsatisfied.

I have been coming to this place since forever. I remember back in the day when this place was a go to "place" to chill and for food during middle school days. Arcade area in the back, but really SMALL. The place is kept clean, nothing too dirty.

Irish nachos (fries, bacon, cheese, green onion) = good. Eat it hot.  Don't eat it cold, cause the cheese and fries don't mix well when its laid out for awhile.

Pastrami Reuben Sandwich = love it. I usually come here to get this and only this. Its greasy, dirty, and full of flavor. Toast is crispy and toasted on butter. Pastrami melted with swiss cheese and sauerkraut.  Comes with either fries, coleslaw, or potatoe salad. Yummy!

Corn Dog = okay. Pretty simple; tastes the same everywhere.

Salmon Caesar Salad = good. They give you A LOT for a salad.  Sometimes the salmon gets a little bit in the saltier side though...

They also have the typical other salads, burgers, and sandwiches.

Made a burger run to here on Sat.

I have not eaten here in over a decade but my nephew is a burgerphile.  He loves his Fatburger.  So, to give him some comparisons, we made the trip out here.

Used to work in the area a long time ago and I remember Knowlwoods to be a pretty darn good burger joint.

I must say that I was a little disappointed.  Had the Frisco burger as did my BiL, my nephew and my son both had Bacon Cheeseburgers.

The burgers are not as good as I remember them to be.  It could be the waxing nostalgic but they were not thick, or juicy, or anything extraordinary.

They were, well.   ok.   Now the Irish nachos we had on the side were pretty good.

So, while it could be the clouded memories of a favorite lunchtime hangout... I just wasn't that impressed.   Now, not to say that it was bad, just that it was just ok to me.

    For nostalgia's sake, I'm giving it a ***.

I've been coming here since I was in Jr High, back when it was a tiny little shack. I'm still not really use to the "new" look, it feels inauthentic.

The best thing on the menu is the Irish Nachos. The burgers are decent but not worth going out of the way for. Tonight I went with the French Dip, bread is really soft, beef could have been cooked better and the au jour is too hot

It just doesn't live up to my memories. But then again, few things do, right.

Wifey and I came here for burgers once since we lived right across the street.

Honestly, I don't remember too much. It didn't blow me away. I had an open face chili cheeseburger. It was ok. Don't remember if we had appetizers or what she had. It was good enough to eat there again maybe, but we didn't live there long enough.

I've had many breakfasts here and decided to write about how I love ordering the veggie omelet with egg beaters (I'm 80 yrs old), sourdough toast, and hash browns. YUMMMMMM.

I haven't been for lunch of dinner but I hear they make a fantastic burger.

The staff is always so nice and attentive but not in an annoying way.

"World's Best Breakfast?" I think not. I decided to stop by this place for breakfast due to the self proclaimed "World's Best" sign placed outside. I ordered the biscuits and sausage gravy, boy was I in for a rude awakening. The Biscuits were flavorless and the gravy was nothing but a gray tasteless soup with bland micro-pieces of sausage.
They might be known for their burgers (I haven't had them), but PLEASE stop with the "World's Best Breakfast" gag.
After this I've decided to think twice when entering a restaurant with "World's Best" anything.

The food is pretty good. I had the veggie burger w/ avocado & mushroom & made it a combo. For that and a fish sandwich combo the price was $20. Food is very filling and decent. The problem is the seating is scarce and the seats are uncomfortable. Something about the acoustics of the place make it seem incredibly loud. I found it impossible to have a conversation without screaming at the person sitting next to me. Kids & teens really like to run around.

If you don't really want to talk to the person you're with and instead want to hear the conversations of the 20 people surrounding you, I'd suggest this place for you.

Another example of a place that used to be good that has went super bland.  Took the family here before going to the excellent Cinema City theatre and ordered lunch.  All I can say is yuck.  We left a huge portion of it at the table and ordered extra popcorn at the theatre to compensate.  Definately won't be back.

This place is next to Starlight Cinema so it makes it an easy choice to eat and try out the place.  The portions are big and the place has its own kitsch.  First of all, the moment you walk in your menu is superimposed on a huge blackboard and you get to choose what you want to eat.  This could be a problem for people who take their time choosing because they end up holding up the line.
The seating is unconventional, you have picnic tables everywhere.  The outdoor seating is a bit unnerving because the restaurant is near a freeway.  Unnerving because my imagination runs rampant thinking that if I sit outside, a car will come flying and landing on my table...splat.  Otherwise it's decent.  I can't comment on service because I don't think it's included.  It's one of those places that you pay, seat yourself, and wait for your food to be called.  Fast food disguised in a name of a restaurant.  My one star less is that my food order came out much later than everyone else and if I didn't check on it, it would have been long forgotten.

    What the heck?!

These burgers are just whatever. I could make these at home, most likely even better, without having to fork over nearly $10 for a combo.

My friend got the best burger and it was anything but the best. I split the frisco burger, nothing really memorable. Just a burger dressed up in different bread.

This is a great kid-friendly place where my friends and I go on Friday nights.

I usually order the Frisco burger. Moist and buttery from the bread. I skip the sauce since I am not a fan on Thousand Island. The fries are always crispy and good.

I have been meaning to try the fajita burger. Next time, I will def try that one. Sounds delicious.

Have gotten the chocolate shake. Creamy, not A+ but decent.

Eat outside if you have kids. This way if they make a mess, no problem. There is a old wooden wagon that the kids like to play on, not sure how stable it is, but does the job. Just watch that they don't climb in.

I'd been to Knowlwood as a kid, but my appreciation for it just recently skyrocketed. The burgers are big and fresh, the bar has a good selection of beer (and some wine), and the vibe is easy going and rustic. There's a Golden Spoon, Starbucks, and movie theater all in that same shopping center so it's really a great location.

I think the prices for the amount of food you get are very reasonable. Everything is fresh and it all just seems so effortless. We never feel rushed to just get in and get out. The outdoor eating area has lots of picnic style tables and overall it's just a great place to grab a bite and hang out. In the bar area they have a pool table, some arcade games, pinball, bar height tables, booths, and TV screens where you can catch a game.

    My favorites:
    Fried Zucchini (absolute favorite!)
    Frisco Deluxe
Grilled Mahi Mahi sandwich (such a great deal! so much delicious fish for the mere $7.)
    Freshly made lemonade

*If you manage to get in when in it's not too busy and sometimes you'll catch older guys playing chess and enjoying their coffee and newspaper. I think it's cool.

Quite good burgers and suchlike, great boisterous yet family-friendly atmosphere.  Turkey burger is quality, chicken caesar salad is huge (and not bad, not GREAT but not bad), and ample portions (like the crunchier fries as opposed to limpers.)

Recently went in for breakfast burrito's on our way out to Vegas and we were both pleasantly surprised by the heft and good taste.  Beans work nicely with the cheese and eggs, and healthy amounts of unhealthy bacon inside (the wife actually said, too bacon-y.... should I get a divorce?)  Expensive for a breakfast burrito, but finally a decent substitute away from Nick's in Seal Beach.

Without a doubt the best bacon double cheeseburger I have ever tasted.  The patties cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful, bacon clearly had been prepared fresh as it was crisp and delicious.   This was all tied together with shredded lettuce, sliced tomato's, onion's  and special sauce creating the perfect burger.  Knowlwood's burger #1, Five Guy's Burger and Fries #2.

But this past weekend, I remembered it again.

Fair warning, I would recommend to only order the burgers. The last time I went there I ordered the Fish and Chips and surprise surprise my fish has bones in it! Not fun!

I got the "best burger in the world" (that's what they call it) with avocados and cheese = meh. so NOT the best burger in the world. it was dry. the bun was unappealing.

I'm going to take you back a little when I was  kid, this was the location of the World Greatest Hamburger. Back in the day this place sat all alone in a field, the dining area was a shack type with dirt floors. A swamp cooler is what kept it cool in the summer, I bet theres a few of you out there that remember this. No I'm not that old but it was a few moons ago =) I'm sure its not the exact same spot where it is now but I'm sure its the same lot.

Now as the food goes they still have awesome burgers, the menu is quite big as are the portions here. The fried zucchini or mushrooms are my favorite! The turkey burgers is quite tasty as well, overall its good food and a nice place to come.

My foursome ate here on a Thursday night about ten days ago.  The food, service and prices were all good, which reflects my experience with this chain over the years.

The management might not have had any control over our only concern.  That is, at a nearby table, a mother (one of many adults with many kids in the group) changed an infant's diaper right there on the dinner table, butt outward, facing the other tables.   Surely she could have done this in the restroom, or at the far end of the table, out of view of the other diners?   We won't be back soon.

What a funky area, that movie theater, then Knowlwood?  Who is the architect in this area??  haha...  Had the Turkey Burger who my Yelp friend Vanessa told me about, it was very yummy, super moist and delicious!  My friend ordered some hot dog bun covered in chili, looked good!  Then...the Irish Nachos...green onion, cheese.  Um, came out as fries, but apparently everyone knows this but me.  Regardless, it was very tasty.  I did order a glass of $4.99 merlot and everyone stared at me, but it was good!  Filled to the brim!

I'd say this place was a great choice and I'd definitely go back to try their burgers!

Hi, my name is David, and I am an addict. I had been clean for about 7 years or so. Then one day, I thought, "oh, just one more time couldn't hurt!" I walked in to the familiar surroundings, and took it all in. The insides looked like any other crack den, except with a more rustic theme. There was trash piled on the tables. Other addicts were huddled in groups getting their next fixes. A crazy lady with a gila monster on her shoulder was on the outside patio (I am not making that up).

I walked up to the dealer at the counter, and he asked me what I wanted. I almost turned around and ran straight out the door. But it was too late. I was already anticipating the feel of the score I haven't felt since....I stuttered for a minute, and then I blurted out," I'll have the Frisco Deluxe!"

    "1/3 lb or 1/2 lb?"

If you're gonna fall off the wagon, you might as well do it big time. "1/2 lb."

While they do serve beer here, I surprisingly didn't go for a brew. I didn't want to OD. After a good 10 minute wait, my order was up. There are many burgers and sandwiches on the menu here, but only one has the word "irresistable" in blue letters next to it. The Frisco Deluxe.

I quivered in anticipation as I sunk my teeth into the juicy and delicious creation that lay before me. For years I had not savored a Frisco Deluxe from Knowlwood. And when I had, the menu's words made sense to me. I knew peace only when I ate it and when I tasted the savory goodness I knew again what peace could be.

But the irony is that eating a Frisco Deluxe hardly ends the craving. It just gets it's hooks in you even more. Fighting a battle with this burger is like fighting a battle within your mind. Am I ever going to get clean? If any one out there has kicked the habit, I'd love to get some advice.

I looooove Chinese Chicken Salads. If you're a fan of it as well, go here!

Their salmon salad is pretty good as well. The portions are HUGE and price is very reasonable. Supposedly their burgers are "the world's best", but that really isn't true because we all know the In-N-Out across the street makes the best burgers. ;)

All plates are affordable, generally everything is under $10. I would probably go here often if there was one closeby to where I live.

I believe there are five Knowlwoods in Socal. Each one is constructed to have a historial atmosphere. The theme of this location is "The Old Red Farming Barn". You get to sit and eat on long picnic benches, which is unique from conventional restaurant tables.

Good food, good price and lots of choices. Nice out side sitting too. Can't go wrong for a nice lunch time escape.

**Last Minute Father's Day Gift Guide**

I'll never get tired of telling how great the breakfast is here at Knowlwood's! Tell Tony I said hello.

Right now I gotta tell you about a couple other things though. I've always thought Knowlwood was cool for selling their T-Shirts for $8.95, nice. They have them on 2 for 1 special....CRAZY!!

Next, the patio area. Much improved now that Imperial Hwy goes over the Railroads tracks here. Makes the patio area much better without all the Imperial Hwy traffic right next to your table.

    FRIED CHICKEN ONLY!!!
I USE TO COME HERE ALL THE TIME 8 YEARS AGO!

    Pros:
-Every time I come here, it's always the 1/2 fried chicken and fries ($5.99). Let me tell you, it's less greasy than before and taste just as GOOD!
-It does not taste like KFC, Church's, Roscoe's or Popeye's. The batter is light and crispy. Almost like a flaky crispy to it. A little pepper taste with a slight... I mean if you're not anal, you won't taste the hint of sweetness.
    -Chicken is juicy!
-Fries are okay but still good ( I wasn't in the thick fries mood).

    Cons:
    -Bathroom is a little dirty.
-Staff members... I felt like I was riding on the Tower of Terror.

DON'T READ THIS REVIEW FOR ANYTHING ELSE, I'VE NEVER TRIED ANYTHING ELSE BUT THEIR CHICKEN THE PAST 20 TIMES I'VE EATEN THERE. =)
