It was my first time going to the HALLOWEEN HAUNT & I HAD A GOOD TIME! I'm glad they had a lot of mazes because after 3 back & forth rides I was sick to my stomach! Although, I do recommend the LOG RIDE. That ride was fun!

Anywhoo, their costumes and make-up were amazingly done but some of them had their Nike shoes on, which kinda killed the moment. THEY GOT ME ON SOME MAZES, ONLY WHEN THEY POPPED OUT OF NO WHERE. But if you see them coming at you it really isn't scary.

That BIG show (near the entrance) was really &^%# corny! I like comedy, of course, but when something is CORNY... It's not funny. So I din't really enjoy that.

I did enjoy the breathing fire man show! That was awesome! But only the part when he's playing with fire. His other tricks were kinda dumb.  Oh, but Gentlemen... I'm sure you'll want to come by this show. This guy has a BFAKEBW assistant wearing a thong. Hehehe. You might love it, but I personally think she looked... no comment!

The food is, that's right! You guessed it ... EXPENSIVE! Nachos were like $11. And the one thing that really pissed me off was that it came with SHREDDED CHEESE instead of NACHO CHEESE! And it wasn't even melted all the way. WTF! RIP OFF. If I'm paying $11 for nachos, at least put the real nacho cheese on it!

I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THE MAZES! I loved it!
I took the 4 ppl/ $100 deal. That's $25 per person! It was worth it!

Even though there were some things I were iffy about, I would definitely come back and visit the mazes again. I hear they have different theme mazes each year. Hopefully next time we'll go to every single maze...(that's how much fun I had).

DAMN! Don't u hate when u outgrow something u absolutely loved as a kid....When I was 14 it was scary as hell! @ 19 still scary and I enjoyed a funny comedy and Elvira show. But this yr (@23) I was soooo disappointed!

The stuff isn't that scary in or out the mazes, and the 'monsters' that walk around are too easily seen, so there's hardly any shock factor [NOTE: they probably had to decrease amount of fake fog for some health/ safety reason, so I can't be entirely mad about that]. It's so crowded one can prob only do 4 rides/ 5 mazes. Then they have the nerve to not allow more ppl in ride lines around 12 even thought they close at 2!

BASICALLY: its crazy crowded, mediocre in scare factor, unfulfilling food options, quantity, and @ ridiculous prices. Traffic is fucking ridiculous on the entire St.... ppl walking alongside u will get inside while Ur still 2 lights back! But pedestrians face traffic too; cuz they only let u cross on 1 side of St so there's a lot of walking around to just get the fuck across. And worst of all is that you actually have to pay close to $50 (w/ discount) for all that BS! [NOTE:  if u go the 1st wknds in Oct the price is less, but that may mean more crowds, idk].

I went 3 years ago and had a GREAT experience at Knott's Scary Farm.  The mazes were frightening, decorations were awesome, the monsters had perfect hiding places and were totally into character.  I couldn't return for a while, but when I got the chance this year, I was really excited.

HUGE disappointment.

When my girlfriend, who gets scared by a pin-drop, comes out of a maze and has nothing to say except, "it was cute," there's something seriously wrong with the setup.

A lot of the mazes were made with bright colors, three of which to enhance "3-D" (wait...aren't these real people, not a movie, so it's 3-D anyways?) and the music varied from fairy-tale to cutesy hip-hop crap.  Decorations were strung up haphazardly, and a lot of the monsters didn't even bother scaring customers...they just sort of walked around.  When they made an awkward attempt to scare people, my girlfriend and her sister would laugh -- not scream -- laugh at them.

The worst part of it was, without question, the security.  In every corner of every maze, you'd have someone with a lazy look on their face, the "what the hell am I doing here?" expression that everyone knows, waving a flashlight around.  Ruined the mood of the mazes in so many ways.  Flashlight in eyeball does not a good maze make.

Save your money, don't come here.  What a disappointment.

I've been going to Halloween Haunt for over 10 years now.  Some years were good, some years not so much.  A couple of years ago I went to Universal Studios and was severely disappointed...so I keep coming back to the original and the best.

Disclaimer - If you are expecting to get scared - you better be between the ages of 10-18.  I think if you are any much older than that - you won't think it's very scary - cool, but not very scary.

When I first started going I was in high school.  I'm not going to insult your intellegence by saying that I keep going because it's so scary....because now I mostly go to see what they present for the Hanging, the music revue type show at the Good Time Theater and people watching (or more like pointing and laughing at those running for their lives screaming).  I think I'm just too old to actually get scared like I did when I was a kid.

Camp snoopy used to be the place to go to get scared out of your mind...but now, because they have a maze entrance and people selling all sorts of lighted crap - it's not really dark in there anymore.  Knott's - if you are reading this- get rid of all that crap in there, and bring it back to the darkness it once was.

The Hanging was quite funny this year.  Probably the best I've seen in a while.

The one cool thing I was able to watch this year - and this is something that is not on the map or scheduled - was watching the people that usually scare you by sliding on their knees towards you (for those who have been know who I'm talking about), actually putting on a mini show in the same area as the Hanging.  They were doing tricks and sliding all over the place including jumping over people and doing the limbo.  Honestly - I think they were doing it more for themselves - since there was one zombie at the end taking pictures.  But everyone around seemed to be enjoying it.

It was quite cool seeing what they could do - but all I kept thinking about is - their knees are going to fall off from all the banging.

It was really nice to be able to see them up close though - you got to see the details in the prosthetics, makeup and even contact lenses they were all wearing.  That's not something you normally get to see close up.

I was very disappointed with knotts mazes.

There were a couple especially the corn maze which was AWFUL! I was going to give it one star however, they had a really good "hanging" show that was surprisingly funny and entertaining.

I got scared once, the guy who chased me with the shovel. Too much security guards.

25 dollar ticket and 15 dollar parking. Parking was easy to find though. easy drive from the 91 from riverside. Too much standing, so my legs were dying after 12am.

If your bored. Spend that money on sushi! Much funner and yummier.

The rides are more fun than the mazes. The clown maze was good though. Get the 3d glasses for a dollar. It will spook jo azz off.

In summary, waste of money. Knotts regularly is more fun. That is forizzle!

I thought it was about time I went back to Knott's after almost three years of being away, to check out the New Mazes and the Hanging!
We ended up getting a discount for all our passes, so we only paid  $39 each instead of the regular price of $54.00 for a Friday night.  We also ordered online on Knott's website, so it only cost us an extra $3.00 (total) to get all 6 tickets e-mailed to us.

We started off with the Dollhouse Maze, which didn't seem all that scary, but when someone jumps out from around a corner, it can be scary. Let's just say, monsters jumped out and I screamed a lot! After this maze, we were off to the Terror of London, which revolved around "Jack the Ripper". The maze was opened from the top, so it wasn't really dark or all that scary.

We spent a lot of time in Ghost Town since it's where you can watch everyone get scared and freak out. It's where most of the monster's spend their time, waiting for victims to scare because the area is filled with smoke from the Fog Machines. Lot's of Laugh's and Good Times!

Our next stop was the Calico Saloon where "per the map" they served BEER! What more can you ask for! When we got in, we walked up to the bar and noticed that they had Stella, Bud and Bud Light on tap and they served bottles of Corona, Bacardi Mojitos, Jack Daniel's Hometown Punch and Jello shots! Each glass of beer, Bacardi or Jack was $9 dollars and the Corona's were $10. The jello shots were $4 a piece. Two glasses of Jack Daniel's and 3 jello shots later, we were off to ride Ghostrider!

After Ghostrider, we decided that we all needed more drinks and when we went back to the Calico Saloon at about 12:30 am, the jello shot's were gone and were replaced with Jager and Patron!! We ordered Patron shots, paid $10 a piece and the shot's came with a souvenir shot glass.

We saw the Hanging, which was full of some witty innuendo's,  cheesy acting, badly choreographed fight scene's and of course, a Hanging. We also checked out the Festival of Freaks, where Zamora the Torture King, laid on a bed of nails and swords, ate fire and stuck a VERY long needle through his tongue and chin!

We finished off the night with a ride on the Silver Bullet and a walk through the Dia De Los Muertos Maze, which wasn't too scary, but there was so much detail to the maze, that I really enjoyed it!

Had a blast this year, I can't wait until Scary Farm 2010!

I'm a big fan of  Knotts Halloween Haunt and I have been coming to haunt every year since 80's , every year is a diffrent maze and shows .This year it was not that great , it  wasn't a big disappointment  with a few returning mazes  and 4 new ones this year , but my favorite ones this year is the

New Maze ....
TERROR OF LONDON - Look like I been step back into fog filled street on london abbey alley the nights are terrorized by townsfolk ! Jack The Ripper standing in the corner sharpening his shears and blades , Dr Jekyll appear with his twisted experiments and the streets on london is filled with blood soak prositutes roaming in the fog , This was my favorite maze this year .

Returning Maze....
CORNSTALKERS - This maze remind me of the movie 'Jeepers Creepers' in the Kansas Cornfield where these killers blood thirsty monster lurking in the field and the sound  of black crow surrounding the scarecrow as you enter the maze you will smell the dry cornfield and the weeping of dead birds , waiting for their guest for a surprise visit  Thumps Up for  CORNSTALKERS .

New Maze....
DIA DeLosMUERTOS - This maze is in 3-d , yep  you got to have your 3-d glasses it cost a buck , cool maze as you enter  the screams of La Llorona the weeping woman sound . I really liked the design of this one colorful as you enter glow in the dark all around you .Venture into the forbidden jungle of el chupacabra and the blood soaked lair of primordial demons , Yes the day of the dead has arrived .

Returning Maze....
THE DOLL FACTORY - As I enters this old abandonded factory filled with dolls heads , marrionette murderer , a psychotic serial killer , and a collection of doll disfigurement the screaming sound of a child with these blood dripping zombies scareing the heck outta me this was a cool one also .

Returing Maze....
QUARANTINE -  What can I say , This maze is based on the movie I actually saw the movie before I went to this maze last year . This was a good one everything similar excatly to the movie as you enters the apartment building filled with dead firefighters and policeman all turned into zombies , waiting for their guest and preys on them ;  EAT EM UP HAHAHA

There is a few shows which is pretty intresting my favorite is THE HANGING  every haunt their is a new spoof  of impersonator , Heck this year they make fun of Susan Boyle and a few others it was hilarious . I hope they have a better 2010 Halloween Haunt and yah , I missed the Crypt Keeper and Elvira  Mistress Of The Darkness they used to be frequently there every year , What Happened .......  I'll be back next  year .

I'm a fan of the Halloween Haunt event and go annually. I'm not a big bitch that scares AT ALL- I like going mainly to watch my friends shriek in horror and to check out the new maze designs. My favorites this year were the Terror of London and The Dia De Los Muertos mazes- again I'm immune to being scared - but the designs of the mazes were awesome. From the spray painted cobblestone streets, to the slaughtered hookers on the corners in the Terror of London maze to the Mexican town with cantina in the Dia De Los Muertos maze- they did a great job on those two mazes.

My party and I paid $24.75 via a web discount on the Knotts homepage. I went on a Sunday night and it was ridiculously packed. Teenagers texting, chewing bubble gum, and saying OMG everywhere (where's my gun).

I would recommend going on a weeknight - check out the knotts website for deals- it's way cheaper than buying it at the ticket booth or those burger king coupons, and if you go during the week there will not be many teenagers.

I had fun but I want to check out Universal.

Ahhhh! What a disappointment! It was my first time ever to enter Knott's Berry Farm. The rides seemed fun (but I only went on the Silver Bullet...but that one was great!), but the Halloween Haunt was a super disappointment.

I think that the mazes would be better if they let you go in as small groups, so that way the actors would have time to set up and hide again, as opposed to letting a constant flow of people walk in...cuz then you knew where everyone was hiding or who was an actor and not just a doll. All the "security" posted up inside the mazes kind of ruins them as well.

It was fun overall because I went with a big group of friends, but don't expect too much out of the event itself, because it isn't very scary, and it was super crowded.

Lucky me, I was the chaperone for my teenage cousin and her friends (10-13) to Knotts Scary Farm. I am totally not a fan of scary stuff, I made them promise to keep me in the middle and circled me at all times while inside the park. (didn't work btw) The place was super dark with lots of fake fog. We arrived at 630pm and were allowed to go in already. It's supposed to start at 7pm. There were no lines in the first two hours we were in the park on a Sunday night. The girls got on the rides while I stood close to the wall so no monster could get me.
I did enjoy the shows, especially the Festival of Freaks, like a circus side show with nail bed, walking on glass, put a pin through arm, etc. The other one I like was the Chipper Lowell Experience - a comedy magic show, very family friendly. The Inferno was a fire show, you can skip this, not impressive at all unless you have never seen people swinging fire torch un-dangerously. The Hanging wrath of the Witch was a try-to-be-funny show with lots of stupid stunts and blood, - a lousy sitcom. We missed the Bloodlust, and the Professor Freak's Funhouse show was unsuitable for the girls because of foul language so we did not go. It was fun, and yes, monsters will come out of nowhere to scare you. Sorry couldn't tell you about the maze, I was too chicken to go in, but the girls all freaked out, and stopped after visiting 3. We bought our tix online $99 for four , $3 service charge, $12 parking.

I love Knott's Scary Farm!!! I look forward to it all year, and we go for my brother's b-day... My brother, cousin, friend and I all decided to go on Pyromaniax... After the big drop, there is a sharp right turn, and my friend and I went slidding sideways, I got slammed between the seat and the hand rail and upon further review (4 hours in the emergency room) I broke 4 ribs, and bruised 2 others...

Other than that I couldn't recommend anything higher than Scary Farm!!!

Despite the broken ribs, I can't wait until next year!!!

I have always wanted to go to Knotts Holloween Haunt and I LOOOVED IT!!!
I went on October 24, 2009 and it was the best day ever, sure it was a little crowded but that made it all the better. Many of these reviews I read told me that it wasn't even scary but let me tell you it's not so much scary but surprising. The clowns and all the other monsters caught me off guard and they would jump in front of me and scare me. It was great, it was especially fun when they recognized you and followed you if you were scared. The best thing about the monsters is that if your scared, THEY FOLLOW YOU!! Exactly...they run and run right behind you and it's very funny watching alot of girls trying to run away from them in heels. The rides are awesome and the mazes are even better. I especially love walking through the mazes and jumping here and there because they get you lol. In the dark mazes you don't see them too good...but they are there hehe. Well I hope I helped convince you to go...trust me...its great :].

Here is a REAL review of Knotts Scary Farm.

Ive been going to KSF since high school back in late 80's - early 90's.  Ive gone almost every year since then.....so I know what Im talking about.

Every year this place gets worse.  And heres why.....

I went last night and could not BELIEVE how many security guards were in the mazes....waving flashlights in every corner.  The mazes are SUPPOSED to be dark in order to be scared properly.  The security ALONE ruined it for me.  My 11 year old son and his friend were totally disappointed, being their first time.  They got scared ONE time, and that was in Ghost town where all the fog is.  Not ONE time were we scared in the mazes.  The monsters werent even TRYING to scare anyone.....it was pathetic.

Why were there so many security and why were the monsters not scaring people?  Because Knotts Scary Farm has become a breeding grounds for the loser thugs, gang bangers, and disrespectful teens who have ruined SO many things that once used to be great.

Knotts Scary Farm used to scare the crap out of anyone who went.  Now its a complete and utter trash hole and waste of money.

Dont listen to ANYONE who writes a good review on this dump, because you will be sincerely disappointed.  I think I heard 5 screams the whole night, and of course those were from lil teenage girls, who can be scared by the fog alone.

By the way, Im writing a letter to Knotts Scary Farm regarding how bad they have become.

Oh, and be sure not to confront any of the loser gang bangers when they cut in front of you in line... (which will happen)... or you just might get your life threatened.

Yeah....total fun.....

It was a ghoulistic disappointment!! We began our evening with hellish parking guidance; their preferred parking was closer to Disneyland then Knott's. There also seemed to be a monster shortage . . . I kept on running into the same "clown" at the end of every maze, it seemed like they may have been alternating spots throughout the night, it became a wicked game of cat and mouse?!?!? First of all, for those who have never been to Knotts, let alone Knotts Scary Farm, do not let the negative comments discourage you in trying it out at least once.

I for one, have been going EVERY YEAR since i was a Junior in High School, and i'm now 22 years old....and honestly, it never gets old for me because I enjoy getting scared even if its by other people in creepy masks or crazy makeup. Hell, even sometimes, the actual park guests scare me ((you'll understand if you go on a night where the park is full and you're walking literally toe-to-toe with other ppl...it gets confusing who's a monster))

I went this past opening weekend, (saturday), and it was AWESOME.  It's funny because  you'll never know how packed out the park is going to be until you get there. I've visited Knotts Scary Farm on every weekend during the month of October, just thinking maybe one weekend wouldnt be as busy as the next. But, its pretty much luck..Sometimes I got lucky and went on an empty day, and sometimes I got pretty screwed where it was ridiculously packed out and even drizzled which messed up the do =] This time around, luck was on my side.

Parking was eh as usual...$15 bucks to park...which sux because usually I get free parking in the residential areas ((sshh)).
The lines to get scanned and checked were a breeze..no more than a  second or two to get thru security and we were off in the park.

Shows...i don't really care to watch any of the shows here, because i don't want to waste a half hour to an hour just sitting on my butt while I could be out riding the rides or inching thru the mazes..so i pass on those shows. I doubt they're worth the time. sorry.

Mazes...yes they do bring back a lot of the mazes from the year or 2 before...which is okay, because it all depends on the ppl they hire to scare the crap outta you. I MUST ADD..i wish they get rid of tThe Doll Factory Maze ...a real bore.
ALTHOUGH, i must say, the people who made the mazes this year *as far as artwork* did an AMAZING job!! especially on the new maze Dia de los Muertos. It looked like a little realistic town.  Terror in London was also real nice as well.  I was not only tryna keep a way from the monsters, but every chance I got to steal a peek at the scenery, it was worth it. The cornstalkers was awesome as well...they did things differently..maybe made it alittle bigger..added a few more things..BUT it was a lot better than last year when it first opened.  LOVED IT.

Bar areas...for those who think this place is for "high schoolers" or whatever....if YOU happen to be too cool for this...then hit the bar areas ((of course if your 21 or over)). they have a few of these places scattered around the park, all you need is your id to get in, and just buy drinks @ the bar. they play music soo you can hang there all nite if the place gives off an "high school"  vibe.

Besides the mazes...the rides are always fun...and I took home another stuffed animal ((A Dodger Bear to be exact)) to add to my collection, thx to my BF;)

Overall, great night!

Don't knock it til you try it.

...until next year =] cant wait!

PS...and pls note...for ppl that claim theres nothing but "ghetto" "cholo" and "hynas" ...I dont think that the reason to come to a theme park is to judge the place nor the ppl there...i think you go to the park to enjoy yourself and whoever is in your company.  so please, do not use that description to keep you from experiencing it yourself.

Overpriced. Not that scary. Long line. Better to go to them in the summer and pay less and have more fun. The good part is the entrance, which is fogged. I heard it used to be scarier. But last year, 2008, it was not too scary and way overpriced.

The best part about coming to Knott's Halloween Haunt is watching all the bunk ghetto cholos holding their hynas close and their juevos closer.

Nothing is funnier than watching MiStER sMiLEy  squeal with fright then watch all his homeboys make fun of him calling him "hoetoe" (its spelled wrong but i like it that way).  Oh, and they ALWAYS scream wild obsenities at the monsters too.  Its like watching Tales From Da Hood but LIVE.

Do yourself a favor, though, only go to cholo watch....but thats it.  Its always crowded with crazy lines up the ying yang, the haunted mazes were built by 3 year olds, nothing looks authentic or even close to legit.

GO TO UNIVERSAL STUDIOS INSTEAD.

The first time I came here, I was in high school and I had so much fun because I was in high school and I guess this is the kind of thing you do when you are that age....everything is supposed to be fun, I suppose.

I came here a second time, it was still kinda fun, a little too crowded.  And I'm not into being out in Buena Park at 3am :|

Third time was not a charm.  Way over-crowded, shitty quality people running around doing stupid shit and the entire evening is just waiting in one big line (depending on how late in the season you go, of course).

I would opt going to local haunted houses that your local town puts on, sometimes they are a little better and they are quick to walk through if you don't want a spook-fest all night.

Just don't go sober.  I feel as if they've kind of lost their touch with this place.  It used to be scary but now all I see is all the characters standing around talking to each other.  I checked out Universal Studios for the first time last year and it was much better.  Better production value and you feel more immersed in the "scenarios".  Knott's has better rides though.

As far as those people who think that Knott's Halloween Haunt ...aka "Knott's Scary farm" is only for people under the age of 18....time to leave the opinions elsewhere.... This place isn't as scary as it used to be, but it's still fun to see the new monsters that they have in the mazes. I have to say that the best maze from last year was the insane asylum near Ghostrider. Going closer to Halloween is much better because there are more monsters, Do not go after Halloween..most of the employees have quit and it's not as scary..I'm 26 and would prefer walking around through mazes, going on rides rather than wasting my time drinking in a bar........... Don't go here with the anticipation to be disappointed and unless your a "gotta be tough" type of guy..your not going to like it anyways cause you'll try NOT to be scared.... All in all, it's a fun place to go..defiantly head to the "scare zones" and check out the Hanging Show...it's funny and enjoyable to watch (only a 15-30 min show)

Happy Scaring ;)

Yes, it smells funny and the lines are often long.
Its packed full of obnoxious hoodrats. Its the same monsters from 10 years ago and I think they are wearing the same clothes underneath. The Shows are cheezy and I haven't been actually scared at haunt in ages. BUT ITS TRADITION! I love haunt and I have really amazing and wonderful memories of this place and I always will.

Now that Im older I find the simple pleasure in theme parks. Next time you do haunt try the following.
---Go with a group of friends and assess who is the most chicken shit.
In every maze, tell the monsters what that person's name is and they will normally totally attack them and scare the crap out of them. (sorry benny)
---When you buy your haunt tickets early, hook up with the pre-scare dinner. But dont get the cheap one get the more expensive one I promise you will not be disappointed. Prime rib, deviled eggs and BEER! Not only do you get your grub on you also get let into the park a half hour before anyone else.
---Save money and just show up drunk
---If there are 3D glasses for sale, buy them. The maze will be lame without it. Then be nice and give them to someone in line when your done.

I cant wait for Haunt next year!
Unpleasant dreams...

I have been going for the last 8 years straight to this. I love it! This past year was the best yet. I recomend going the first couple weeks its starts on a week night if you can. Also, get the package with the hotel so you can just walk home to your room and crash after running around, having beers, and eating funnel cake.

The nest haunted amusement EVER!

I haven't been to Knott's Scary Farm since I was a teenager which means like years, and maybe a decade.  I took my little sister last night and we had a blast.  I was able to score tickets through a corporate discount for $32.99 vs. the $50 or so price at the park.  I used the knott's website instead of ticketmaster to escape the surcharge fee.

Good thing I saved that money from the tickets, because the bottled water is $4. Gulp.  'spensive.  I would have given 4 stars for the evening but during one maze (after we had been through at least 10 other mazes) a lady, mid maze, took my bottle of water away.  I was holding it in my hand, not drinking it!!!

I didn't enjoy quarantine, it was too short and weird.  The Axe Murder and Doll maze were the best.  The Axe murder one is long and very dark in some spots.  I really liked the dolls in the doll maze.  Creepy and cool.  Maybe it was because it is early in the season, but a couple of the mazes would have staff chitchatting in the middle of the maze while you were going through it.  Kind of broke the scary feeling and the point of spending the money.

It was nice to be in the park with small lines if any at all.  I also really liked the new pony express ride.

BEST GARLIC FRIES EVER!!!!!

I don't remember much from my Scary Farm night at Knotts except for my 5 minutes of bliss with the Garlic Fries from Heaven...or Hell since it's Halloween and all.

Located near Xcelerator...you can smell the cart a mile away...the roasting garlic just creeps up your nose and you're hooked!

The fries are PERFECTLY cooked.  Each bite has a nice crispy crunch!  Tossed in parmesean cheese and garlic the outcome is a tray of orgasmic pleasure for the tummy!  There are chunks of real garlic and I found myself not only finishing the fries but picking up the bits of garlic chunks leftover!

I thought the mazes and shows were weak....I think I may be too old for this event..the "scary" clowns that walk around and surprise people didn't even make me flinch this year *shrug*

If you go to Disney's Halloween event don't miss the Haunted House they redid the entire ride with the Nightmare Before Christmas theme!

I attended this event last year and i must admit...it wasn't bad. the only bad thing...i came here with my ex-girlfriend, who is a total scaredy cat. so we didn't visit as many of the mazes as we should have, but oh well.

Knotts does a great job of decorating the place for Halloween...especially with the smoke machine. you'll literally be walking, unable to see any faces and all of a sudden you run into a man, bleeding from the mouth and eyes with a chainsaw...and that's not a good thing. not only are there scary mazes, but some of the rides are also attractions at the Haunt. there will literally be guys waiting to scare you while you on the ride!

there really is only one thing that i hated...CLOWNS...those bastards were everywhere...i have a fear of clowns.

while we were waiting to get on a ride...there a was a door nearby where the workers would go in for whatever reason. yeah...well seven f*ckin' clowns came out all together...and i literally pissed my pants. thank God none of them came up to me because i would have punched one in the face...or ran away crying.

one complaint of mine though is that they let WAY too many people. it took forever for each line to move and it was just ridiculously packed. another thing is that the event is getting more and more expensive each year, so make sure you try and get coupons to save money.

but it was good times and i definitely would go again :)

READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO! IT WILL HELP YOU GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR EXPERIENCE!

Before you go to Haunt, plan your night accordingly. Weekdays are the BEST days to go because it is not so crowded and you are more likely to do everything you want to do. Be aware though that the closer it gets to halloween, the more crowded it will get, even on weekdays. If you must go on a weekend, try to go the first two weeks of Haunt, or on the very last night. Surprisingly, HALLOWEEN NIGHT IS RARELY CROWDED!

After you have decided on what night to go, you will need to buy tickets. Burger King always has discount coupons and sometimes their discounts are even better than the employee discount. Annual passholders also get coupons in the mail. Buying tickets on the website is cheaper than ticketmaster, and buying them at the gate is cheaper than the website (no service charge).

Parking sucks and is expensive so get there early (5:30/6ish). I highly suggest buying the pre-scare dinner because you get good food at the buffet and you get into the park an hour early & a refillable water bottle (water is $4 so it saves you money). Be advised that on busy nights, the parking lot on Beach Blvd will be crowded but there are also parking lots on La Palma Ave. and Western Ave. There is also street parking on Crescent Ave or other surrounding streets. Parking is around $10 so try looking for street parking if you get there early.

When you are ready to go into the park, you will go through security/metal detectors and they will check your bags. Save time by having your bags ready and metal out of your pockets. DON'T BRING DRUGS OR ALCOHOL. Come on, be smart for once k? It is a family park, just remember that (meaning keep PDA minimal too).

Once you get into the park, pick up a map and decide what mazes/shows/rides are MUST-SEES for you. This is critical on busy nights. If you went through a maze last year, odds are it hasn't changed much so hit the new stuff first. The rides are the most popular (I can't figure out why- they are pretty much the same as they are in the daytime but with a few monsters and decorations) so you might want to get those out of the way first. I highly encourage you to check out websites like http://www.ThemeParkAd... and read the reviews (especially the message board!!) before you decide to go to them because you don't want to waste valuable maze time stuck in a show that might not be what you expected. Plot your night, it will help you get the most out of your time.

-- MONSTER ETTIQUETE--
Do not be a jerk! Monsters do not appreciate the following: rude comments, back talk, "scare my friend!" (we don't tell you how to do your job), "I see you!" (thanks, you just ruined it for everyone around you), "you're not scary" (would you tell someone they aren't pretty? they aren't smart? etc), NO TOUCHING, HITTING, KICKING OR GRABBING WHATSOEVER (it is THE fastest ticket to getting booted from the park/ arrested), no coming up behind us and yelling in our ear (it is unnecessary to be a dousche when we are just triyng to do our job). Just remember... you PAID to get scared and we get paid to scare you. If you get too scared, you can always leave, but don't get mad at the monsters for scaring you!

Cameras are allowed but PLEASE don't be rude and flash your camera in the monsters' faces. They do not appreciate it. If you ask nicely, most do not mind taking pictures with you, but if they decline, don't get offended. Monsters are not there to play concierge with you either... monsters have an attitude as part of their character so a lot of them prefer not to answer questions or give you directions. If you have questions, save yourself the frustration and ask a uniformed employee. Monsters are not trying to be rude but they are playing a character and they do not like having to get out of character to play information booth.

If you are thinking about taking your children to Haunt, please note that Haunt is recommended for kids 13 and older. In all honesty, I wouldn't trust your teen alone at Haunt either, so send a chapperone. You would not believe how a lot of teens act at Haunt! They are making out all over the place, some are drunk or stoned, and a majority just get out of control. I'd say 16 or 17 is probably a better age to let your kid go alone unless you know your kid is mature enough to be responsible. Kids in a stroller... just don't. Also, manual wheelchairs are available.

Half an hour before the park closes is when everyone starts to leave so the exit gates and parking lots will be CROWDED. If you have taken sharp shooter photos at all during the night, I suggest you view/ purchase them during the night because once everyone starts to leave, the photo booths & souvenier shops get SWAMPED and you could be waiting a VERY long time. Take your time heading to your car cause everyone will be rushing to leave. That's all you need to know now, so have fun! Be safe and get scared!

Always and forever the original Halloween party.  Here's a link where you can save some serious cash if you order through Knott's.  $32.99 for this Friday...damn right scary...but available for discounted tickets through different dates through the month of September and October.

http://knotts.com/corp...

It's a $3 convenience surcharge (NOT PER TICKET) but for the entire order.

I just got up from Halloween Haunt last night and it was easily the BEST Haunt Ever.  I went on the first Friday night (9/29).  Although it was more busier than I thought I'm glad I came as I hit all 13 mazes, 3 scare zones, 4 rides, 1 Show (Chipper Lowe Experience) in about 5 hours.

After arriving at 7:30PM I hit the back to back mazes...wait time??  4 minutes

The longest wait time of the night was for the Maze Pyromaniax (which is on the log ride) this was a 20 minute wait.  Black Widow's Cavern was the second longest ride at 15 minute which was a little train ride.  I guess the 2 maze RIDE attractions was the longest wait.  Otherwise the average wait time of all other mazes was 5 minutes.  AMAZING!!!

IF YOU'RE READING THIS, PLEASE CONTACT THE AUTHORITIES IMMEDIATELY! Something terrible has happened at Knott's Berry Farm!!
I recently made my annual jam pilgrimage (a few weeks late this year) to discover, OMG, that the ENTIRE PARK HAS BEEN OVERRUN BY WEREWOLVES, VAMPIRES AND MONSTERS!!

They've ransacked the place. Even odder, the whole park seems to be on fire (judging from the endless clouds of smoke I wandered through) but I saw no flames anywhere. Weird!

Here's the kicker, the idiot cashiers at the front of the park are STILL GIVING OUT TICKETS! Like nothing has happened! Hello, your park has been destroyed! Get out of here you greedy idiots!

My friends and I managed to talk shelter in the beer garden, down a few to steel our shaky nerves (really, how much for a can of beer? um, no, I'll take 3, please) and re-group.

It's really bizarre, sometimes groups of monsters who somehow didn't notice us would cluster off to the sides of the park, smoking cigarrettes and talking about school. What? Some kind of monster school I guess? What a terrifying thought, the last thing we need is educated monsters!!

One of the zombies was even complaining about someone named "Stacy" who was "being an a-hole". Um, I don't know you Stacy but I hope you know what you're doing, pissing off a zombie like that.

All in all it was fun, but I barely got out of there alive. Watch yourself! Hope I have better luck at Universal Studios this weekend...

Went last night! It wasn't cowded which was the best!! mazes took 10 mins in line and rides lines was not more then 15 minutes. 6 new mazes this year including the scenes from the new movie Quarantine, I haven't gone for a few years so it was pretty worth it because  you can get scared a= out once in a while.

The fang show was horrble. not worth your time unless you just wanted to rest for 30 minutes, I did and feel asleep almost through the entire show.

I wanted to go for YEARS. Kept bugging my bf to take me cause I scare easily and I'm too chickenshit to go without someone to whom I can cling to for dear life. Finally we went last year, and geez, what a letdown. What looked SO COOL in all the TV ads were just lame irl. I was still scared, but shit, you'd be too if things dressed to look scary jumped out at you all the time. It would still have been fun, I did have a good time, but I witnessed something that just killed the experience for me.

This clown "monster" was chasing a girl around. She was screaming, looking really scared. I would guess she was around 16? Also looked to be a tourist, not that it matters. She was crying, screaming, clearly scared. I admit to having a clown phobia myself, though I've conquered it for the most part, but dude, that is not fun. The clown just would not stop. She kept screaming, crying, running away. He would not stop. Seriously, there's fun, then there's going too damn far. Not cool.

I only went on a few mazes because my friend and I wanted to utilize our $29.99 coupon (that's what makes this place worth 4 stars. . .paying over $30 is not worth coming here).  The dates included Wednesdays or Sundays. . .so we chose Sunday.  With work the next day, we left the park a little before 10:30 PM.  We went on the Black Widow Maze, walked thru the Quarantine, 3-D Las Vegas, The Labyrinth, 13 Axe Murder Mansion, The Doll House. . .and I think that's about it.  The best maze was The Doll House. . .reminded me of The Cell where Vincent D'Onfrio's character would submerge his female victims in bleach and turn them into his own personal barbie dolls.  It was bloody, creepy, disturbing and the props were good.  There was an area with marionettes hanging from the ceiling, and I admit that I got scared when this goth lady shoved one of the dolls towards me.  Ahhh.

The Labyrinth started out like Pan's Labyrinth . . . mystical and magical like a dark fairytale.  Then it jumped themes and became crap.  3-D Las Vegas was boring .. .way too many strobe lights and the phosphorescent colors on the wall were bad.  There was a pole with a girl pole dancing (aka walking around the pole).  Maybe it would've been worth it to invest in the 3-D glasses. . .
13 Axe Murder Mansion was like a knock-off of Disneyland's Haunted Mansion.  There was a buffet/dinner table and the fortune teller.  But of course it was more interactive and creepier than D-land's PG version.  Quarantine was reallllly boring.  There were people in Hazmat suits.  Not very scary.  And regular joes with make-up wounds on their faces.  The Black Widow one was fun because I got to sit down for the ride =)

Overall. . .not bad.  My plan is to come back next year. .. hit up the bars inside the park (whoa, they serve alcohol??  My darling and I were surprised) and get drunk before going through the mazes. . .Now THAT sounds fun.

Get me out of here before I start stabbing people.

I went with a group of coworkers a few weeks ago, but lost them all in the clusterfawk that was the main entrance. Waited in "line" for over an hour whilst being molested from behind and being elbowed in the boobs numerous times. What's that? Sounds like good times? It might have been if I had a few more beers, but I didn't so :'(

I've always had a good time at Knott's Scary Farm, but it felt like they were a bit understaffed this year.. or a lot understaffed. There weren't very many monsters and zombies trying to scare people in the mazes we walked through. What's up with that, homie? At least I only paid $40 to get in. Oh wait, the minion paid for me. Thanks minion!! I'll pay you back, promise!

Overall, the most scary and torturous maze of the night was the line to get in. Yikes  :/

I feel that once Burning Man is over people come to Knotts Scary Farms to work for halloween!

I had a blast here with my husband. Although the lines look pretty intense things move along pretty quickly which is great!

It's always a joy seeing grown men in full on machismo get the crap scared out of them!

A lot of parlour tricks, but it does the job perfectly. I think I was having too much fun because my perma smile caused a ghoul to snap at me and tell me to stop smiling. I can't help it! :D

Some of the mazes were just 'eh' but in general if you go to have fun and get scared things will work out perfectly.

Oh! And the Hanging show was awesome...!

Went last night, had a blast! The movie premiere/red carpet event for Quarantine was being held at the Charles M. Schultz theater, a couple of my friends had passes for it, but unfortunately my group arrived too late and missed out. We did however got to sit among some cast members from Heroes and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles... that was kind of cool. And I'm like 100% positive I saw Bob Saget somewhere there. So awkward.

As far as the attractions go, the mazes were really fun and the crowd wasn't too bad. I screamed so much and cursed even more ahahah! :(

My friends and I got $19 off the original ticket price by using a coupon from Burger King. Act quick, the discounts lower as Halloween gets closer! HAVE FUN!!!

I went on Friday, 10/10.  4 stars because not all the maze were, ahem, amazing.

The best maze is "The Asylum."  Knotts has had this maze for years, and brings it back for good reason.  Very creepy.  Likewise, the best "Scare Zone" (areas that monsters hang out and jump out at you while you walk in the fakey amusement park streets) is the original "Ghost Town."
Also notable mazes are: The Doll Factory, Corn Stalkers, and 13 Axe Murder Manor.

It's hard to get thru all the mazes in one night, so you can miss The Labyrinth (too short and not scary, has goats like the movie "Pan's Labyrinth"), Pyromaniax (which is actually the Log Ride, but this is not scary at all), Black Widow's Cavern (which is actually the Calico Mine Ride, but also not scary at all).  The rest of the mazes are just ok.  There is a Quarantine maze based on the movie.  The monsters are just regular people in regular clothes, so its not scary in that regard, but the monsters try to scare you more (I guess because they know that they aren't scary looking).

I went on all the themed rides and mazes because I went early for the Buffet (Boo-fet).  It's $18 per person if you order online and its all you can eat Knott's famous fried chicken, ribs, prime rib, etc.  The chicken lives up to its reputation and its worth it for getting in early cause it costs like $13 a plate anyways if you go eat at the restaurant.  The buffet is inside the park at the pasta restaurant across from Ghost Rider.  You can make a reservation as early as 5:00pm.  They let us onto Ghost Rider at 6:05pm.  Nice and early!  And some monsters will come out and you can take pictures with them.  Then they open some front parts of the park at 6:30pm and you can hit all the mazes really really fast.  I was first in line for Asylum! And the only girl, so I was the main target.

I've been going to Scary Farm for years, and this is the first time I've done all the mazes/rides and seen the Hanging and saw the Fangs vampire show too.  The lines get REALLY long after 9:00pm.  So I recommed going early, having an easy time parking, eating some buffet, and doing it all.

They need to employ more people.  A lot of people attend, not enough people in the mazes or in the park like back in the day.
The decorations/scenery/backdrops were quite impressive.
