This review is only for Knott's Berry Farm Resort Hotel's prime rib...

That's right, they have PRIME RIB.

I know it's a hotel (and judging from the reviews, not a very good one), but the prime rib here is GLORIOUS! Juicy, perfectly marbled, with the added kick of dry-rub spices on each slice- add the horseradish sauce and au jus and it's GAME OVER!

Eat your heart out Lawry's! If you stay here, or somehow find yourself having a meal here, make sure you indulge in this special treat that not too many people know about!

Hotel is clean and staff is friendly. Walking distance to Knotts Berry Farm.

Hotel is starting to show its age however.

Gym was basic, had what any other hotel gym would have.

Pool and jacuzzi seemed clean. There is a water play structure next to the pool that the kids seemed to enjoy.

My girlfriend and I decided to go dip in the Jacuzzi around 9. There were two other couples and their kids running around.

I was pretty relaxed until I saw the Lifeguard. Their lifeguards go through Jeff Ellis ( a lifeguard certification) I my self am a Instructor through Jeff Ellis and  (pardon my language) nearly shit a brick when I saw the lifeguard they had on the stand. Was not scanning his water at all! He had a 20 min (yes I timed it) conversation with a security guard. Mean while you have kids doing backflips and diving in to the shallow end! I was pissed! I was on my way to the front desk to complain when my girlfried forced me to stop and told me to leave work at work  "we are on vacation leave it be" she said.

Anyways, the hotel is ok, clean rooms, nice staff just make sure you watch over your own kids in the pool.

I got a $45 / night here through Priceline. It was listed as 3 starts, but I think that might be a bit of a stretch. The lobby area is clean and updated, but the room is pretty old and out-dated. Parking was $13 and Internet was $10, so add that together and my cheap room is no longer so cheap.

What I did like about my stay was that it was quiet - real quiet...

So Sam and I are driving madly around in Orange County because my iPhone croaked and gave me incorrect directions (reminder to dock iPhone stars...) and we finally make it to this hotel to attend a wedding... only to have the oldest parking attendant EVER known to man give us a spiel on how he doesn't know where we could find parking... and that he had two weddings going on at the same time. WTF!? Just let us through already!! I don't really care to hear if you have a zillion weddings!!! So we made it through in the nick of time, managed to sneak into the wedding area right before the ceremony started. It was a pretty venue but the roller coasters blasting in the back while the bride and groom were exchanging vows were definitely a distraction.

The reception room was on the 9th floor which offered an interesting view of suburbia upstairs. I felt bad for the 8th Floor guests as the wedding included a mariachi band who blasted their horns and stomped around. The staff members were super attentive.

Minus one star for the uberly chatty parking attendant that wouldn't shut up.
Minus one star for not putting the roller coasters on hold for 5 minutes so my friends can profess their love for each other.

Great location next to Knott's Berry Farm.  Unfortunately we could hear the rollercoaster noises from our room.   It was very clean.

Previous to this stay I remembered eating at the restaurant that's in front of Knott's Berry farm; and the food was good.

The KBF Hotel Resort was great.  Except for the fact that we booked through a 3rd party. And the hotel booked beyond capacity, so we got stuck in the 'smoking' wing.  Did I mention none of us smoke?  After the initial irritation & no where else to send my family, they decided to tough it out.

Beyond our mini-crisis, the hotel is decent.  The room was clean and interior was standard.  Its got tennis courts, great pool/hot tub, work out facilities, restaurant/bar, gift shop, and pcs in the lobby for internet access.  (Yes, you have to pay for internet in the lobby).  Would I stay there again?  Only if circumstances forced me to be in Buena Park & only in the 'non-smoking' wing.

The noise control is interesting here. The Ghostrider rollercoaster seemed like it was a couple hundred feet away from our window, but we didn't really hear noise from it. Funny thing is, the walls in the hotel are really thin and we could hear our lovely neighbors cussing each other out. It was pretty entertaining up until 1 in the morning when we were trying to sleep. Guess they were pissed that they weren't closer to Disneyland, the happiest place on earth.

Nonetheless, I like this place because the rooms were clean and well accomodated, the gym and pool were nice (they have a sauna and steam room!!!), you get a great view of the park from your room if you're on an upper floor, and you can walk to Knott's within a few minutes. That means easy access to the famous fried chicken dinner--which i found to be too greasy-- and other shops outside of the park.

Summary:
--older hotel probably ok for families attending nearby parks, but marginal for business travel
--$10 parking fee, charged per stay (not included in a Hotwire rate)
--work desk poorly laid out
--somewhat beatup (delaminating doors)
--front desk slow and seemingly understaffed
--internet at a fee.

I stayed here two  nights on a Hotwire rate and wasn't all that impressed.  3 stars is definitely a stretch in terms of room amenities, staff response, and general facility.  I didn't observe the pool.

Our department recently had an off-site meeting at this facility, and I have to say, I was impressed with pretty much everything they were able to provide.  (As a side note, I was told that this place used to be a Radisson, which is located just south of the park)

I wasn't involved in setting up the event, just so you know.  Not only did the hotel host our meeting (including a meal of Mrs. Knott's chicken with all of the trimmings, which really wasn't nearly as good as the meal you would get at the actual Mrs. Knott's restaurant.  Plus, they didn't provide those great bisquits, either), the hotel worked with our people to make room reservations and made arrangements for visiting the actual theme park the next day.  In addition, they worked with our committee to tell them about various attractions in the local area for the people who chose to spend the night.

All in all, it was a pretty good venue for a company/department holiday party.

**i never stayed here, but have eaten here, so here is the review for their Easter or mother's day brunch.

they host Easter and Mother's day brunch here, and it is the absolute glutton like experience for me, besides Bellagio buffet. we've been here 4 times so far, and even on Easter, they have the Easter bunny...fun times...anyways, yeah we couldve gone to eat chinese or KBBQ, but for mother's day, sometimes you want to gorge on comfort food that your mama couldve made...but didnt cuz she can only flan...

so the prices:
Adults: 24.75
Seniors 60+: 21.50
Children (3-10): 17.25
(add your 19% grautuity)

ok so here how it goes

first you make reservations - call the Hotel, not the CDR (chicken dinner restaurant)

then the day of, go to the courtyard and sign in..youll be called when its your time to go. parking can be a problem, but we had a handicap placard, so..i dunno how youll find good parking like us..hehe..kidding, but seriously, parking can be hard, but the lot isnt soo big, where if you park far, youll walk far..cuz you wont...walk far that is...

then, your name is called...jump in the air just a little and head upstairs where you pay before entering.  think you can just skip the wait process and go straight to the cash register?  WRONG.  they check off your name at the register...they have the event in their Grandest of grand ballrooms.  its HUGE inside, with the food area taking up about 1/4 of the room, spread out of course.  you'll lose weight going form one station to the other, not really....more like youll lose precious time

then you get seated, at those circular tables.  usually, you wont share a table with other people, though they warn you it may happen...order your Mimosas or other drinks  The waiter staff is VERY attentive, and nice.  find the omelet station, waffle bar, carving station and dessert table.  they have the famous Mrs Knotts' chicken, roast beef, ham, turkey...etc., etc, etc..Luckily, we were seated near the dessert tables, and got to eat yummy chocolate covered strawberries....as they came out...  skip the salad and bread bar.  wasted calories.  oh, and if youre feeling generous, tip your waiters more...they deserve it....

go home...undress...roll over and sleep.  this brunch will last you till breakfast next morning.
