159 reviews for Knott's Berry Farm
I havent been here in a long time... It seems like they might be having some financial problems...
The park wasnt that crowded.. Several of the rides were closed...
We still had a good time..
yes we tried the fried chicken....
Overall, it was ok....
We might come back in 10 years..
"Knotts Berry Farm got smaller...." "No, we just got bigger...." Says my younger sister and her boyfriend. I swear we did a few rounds in that park and kept seeing the same rides. We came to Knott's today because it was her birthday and her favorite place. I went to Knotts SCARY farm two years ago but I think it's been about five years since I went to the regular theme park.
Today was a great day to go because the park was almost empty. I guess everyone was waiting for tonight so it worked out for us. We probably waited in line five minutes most and did every ride in about three hours. I enjoy Knotts Berry Farm because these roller coasters dont give me migranes ...::cheers::...! The only one that could is Ghost Rider and I actually sat it out because one, we just finished eating and two, when you ride on it, it feels like it's about to run off the tracks.....not cool. We were out of the park by 5:30pm because they had to close it down to get it ready for Knotts Scary Farm.
Got On: Montezooma's Revenge, Bigfoot Rapids, Perilous Plunge, Jaguar, Boomerang, Pony Express
Sat Out: Ghost Rider [[risk of migrane, just ate]], Silver Bullet [[just ate]], Supreme Scream [[been on before but can never prepare myself for height]]
Passed Up: Everything in kiddy land, Riptide
Closed: Xcelerator [[apparently the rubber band in the ride broke a few weeks ago...yikes!]], log ride [[preparing for Knotts Scary Farm]], mine ride [[preparing for Knotts Scary Farm]]
Typical overpriced food like any other amusement park or fair atmosphere. However, all the staff/ride attendants were very nice to us. They had a spray paint tattoo stand and the young man gave me a buy one/ get one free special. Also, the tats' prices are based on letters [[A,B,C,D]] but the guy told me because it was so slow, if I got a B, he'd charge me A's price. If I got a C, he'd charge me B's price, and etc.
Knotts Berry Farm is a great theme park to go to if you feel you're too old for Disneyland [[im not]] and Magic Mountain's roller coasters are too much for you or that place is just too far.

Being so close to Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm will draw inevitable comparisons. I go to theme parks mainly in search of air time and thrills on big coasters but I do also appreciate efforts made with good theming and trying to round out the whole experience with parades and shows etc
Overall, I prefer Knott's, mainly due to Ghostrider, my favourite wooden coaster in the USA (with Lightning Racer at Hersheypark and Mean Streak at Cedar Point taking the runners up positions). It is packed with air time and for a wooden coaster, it doesn't rattle you too much and the lateral Gs aren't too unpleasant.
The top hat on Xcelerator, a launched coaster, also yields some float time at the top and Silver Bullet, Knott's first suspended coaster delivers a good punch with 6 inversions
I did enjoy some of the historic rides like the horse-drawn stagecoach and the narrow gauge railway. The water rides are a good way to get splashed and cool down a little on hot days
The Mystery Lodge story teller is a clever use of technology to tell a native Indian tale.
Knott's is never going to be as polished as Disney - I think very places would be able to rival that but for its bigger rides and Mrs Knott's chicken, I put Knott's first

Going to Knott's Berry Farm today was a spur of the moment decision. We really had nothing better to do and I've never been, so what the fuck? Since school started last week, it was mercifully devoid of annoying high school douche bags. In fact, the whole park was pretty much deserted, which meant no waiting in line EVER for rides!
My favorite was the river rafting ride, which provided a most welcome cold soaking in the 90 degree heat. Also, it wasn't terrifying. The log ride was awesome too. So great that we rode this one twice. The Pony Express was pretty fun too, except that the lever that secures you to the pony smashed my BF's nuts. We call it the Nutsack Express now. Srsly.
Was NOT a fan of Montezooma's Revenge, which fucked up my neck as it jerked me violently around in all directions traveling roughly at the speed of sound.
Yay for the 40% AAA admission discount, but boo for $4 tiny bottled water. Tap water in So Cal is undrinkable. :|

Knott's is definitely more fun than the other theme parks I've been to. I suppose it's mainly due to the people I've gone with. Never had a dull moment here nor was I disappointed. The rides are decent, they aren't as thrilling as Magic Mountain's, but I am old now and I get a bit nauseous these days.
Vets get in for free around Veterans day, plus 2 or 3 guests. Forgot what it was. Awesome!
I've never been before, though my husband spent a lot of summer days (and yearly halloween haunt eves) at Knott's Berry Farm. We had a great time with our kids. It's not too huge, and we went on a Sunday in September, so it wasn't crowded at all. Didn't have to wait for most rides, except in the mid-late afternoon, then the bigger rides had longer lines.
Our kids had so much fun! They loved Camp Snoopy, and because they were tall enough, could ride on some of the big rides, like the Log Ride (a favorite),Bigfoot Rapids (a huge hit), Jaguar (even the little one liked it), Waveswinger (another fave), and the Perilous Plunge (it scared the crap out of both kids, and once was enough for one day.) The older child like the Pony Express, but wasn't quite ready for the Boomerang or La Revolucion or Rip Tide - or the other more challenging rides.
We skipped lunch and ate junk food - funnel cake, garlic fries, icees, ice cream sundaes - and we were so tired out by 5p (after starting at 10am), that we made a quick stop at the Peanuts gift shop outside the main gate, changed into dry clothes at the car, and headed home. We did stop for dinner at King Taco in Bell, so that was a satisfying & delicious end to a terrific day.
Several rides were closed - Ghostrider and the Sky Cabin, and a few others. That was a big bummer. It would be great if the outdoor theater at Camp Snoopy had a canopy for shade. Food is expensive! Lockers are small.
However, there are several fun water rides that cool you off on a hot day - we got soaked several times. Bring a change of clothes for sure, and sunscreen. There's some shade, but not a ton of places to sit in the shade. Lots of cute gift stores. We'll have to go back and check out the Western-themed shops and rides more. There were a few requisite teens sucking face here and there, but I would say, in general, Knotts is a family-friendly place, with fun for all ages, from 3 to 93.
Who in their right mind would rather go here over Disneyland and Six flags?!?! Even as an infant i knew this place sucked! Small enough to be done with this park in 5 hours. Ghostrider is a dope wooden coaster if it wasn't for that ride i probably would've given it one star. Meh. I've experienced ALOT better. Ps halloween here has fell off more than Pop Mcees.

Have you ever seen a bullet that curves and hits the target?
(just like in the movie "Wanted" - Angelina Jolie is so HOT!)
I have.
I mean...I "WAS" that bullet.
Yes, I rode Silver Bullet for the first time
(Haha that was lame).
I brought 6 elementary kids to Knott's yesterday.
I work with kids, so i go to Knott's alot.
I know this place like my backyard that I don't need any map.
But never had the guts to try Silver Bullet, until one of my student
asked me to ride with her using her "Puppy Eyes"
I'm afraid of height...and i was bit worried
So right before the ride, I video taped myself
leaving what could be a final message to my lovely wife
Telling her how much I love her...(yes, i was that scared. lol)
But oh boy~! Silver Bullet was sooo fun!!
The whole time I was saying at loud "Ahaha, What's going on~!!?"
It brought me back good old memories when I was a little kid.
Pop used to lift me up in the air and swing me around saying I'm riding airplane.
I thought I have reached this age where it is hard for me to feel
any excitement toward amusement park.
Thank you Knott's Berry Farm :D

The place is amazing, with more rides than one can imagine. If you are a roller coaster fan, this is the place for you. We loved it! It is huge and you can't possibly go on all the rides, but it's very nice. There are lots of different areas with quaint shops.
However, it is expensive, the food is more expensive than Disney (if you can believe it!) and there aren't many shady areas so you wait in the hot sun for each ride. Plant some trees people!
Camp Snoopy - had a show that we went to. Very disappointed - Snoopy wasn't in it! Only Linus, Charlie and Lucy. What's up with that?
Ghostrider was closed as were some other coasters but all in all, great fun.
Quick & Dirty: If you were ever a teenager in the South Bay or OC then Knott's was your playground. Cool rides, boysenberries, fried chicken, funnel cake!
Long & Fun:
I hadn't been to Knott's in over 10 years! I know, what kind of So Cal native am I? So this past weekend I went with some friends and boy was I pleasantly surprised.
In my mind Knott's had turned into a kid infested gangland where teenagers sucked face in line for Boomerang or any other ride. In reality Knott's has changed drastically for the better. The park is much more family friendly and totally state of the art, clean and safe.
I was blown away at the amount of rides that they have here and how they really have maximized their space. You don't have to walk miles to get to the next ride, most are only steps from each other.
Camp snoopy has tons of rides for kids and the rest of the park is mixed with high octane rides and more medium grade stuff.
Of course Knott's is now a corporate affair having been bought by Cedar Fair of Cedar Point fame http://www.cedarpoint.com/ which has some of the biggest, craziest rides ever built by man. BUT I must say that they have stayed true to what made Knott's famous, boysenberries, fried chicken, and rides. Now everything is just cleaner and safer.
I am so glad I went back to Knott's and I can promise you that it won't be another 10 years before I go back.
Would I go here again? For Sure.
Should you go here? Yes, you'll love it!
I almost forgot to tell you, show your AAA card and you get 40% off admission!!!
See Ya,
Sam

My little brother was in town and he loves sickening rides so we figured we'd stop by. We had already done Disneyland, California Adventure and Six Flags previously and we once saw a photo of Leonardo DiCaprio on a Knotts Berry Farm ride. I figured, "Hey, Leonardo can ride any ride he wants and he picks Knotts Berry Farm. It must be pretty good!". It couldn't have been more disappointing...
So, the real problem is that most of the rides were closed. We hung around for a while and they just never opened. I understand that it was Thursday during the daytime and the park was pretty empty, but I don't recall being charged less so why does this seem okay for them to do?
The only way I'd ever go back is maybe after hours so I can drop a poo in front of their main gate. Other than that, there's no way I'm going anywhere near Buena Park again. There was a positive however... I've been wanting to try Donut Man in Glendora (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) but could never justify the drive from Westwood. We typed it in the GPS and it spat out 21 miles. Why, that's less than halfway!
My advice: skip Knotts Berry Farm, get some peach or strawberry donuts at Donut Man.
Dear lord... My friend and I came randomly since we had absolutely nothing to do on a random Tuesday. We figure that we hadn't visited Knott's since junior high, might as well give it a try.
Holy moly.... NEVER AGAIN!!!!!! Remember back in junior high when you talked just to be heard. Okie, replace the talking with screaming. Yeah, it was a pretty terrible experience. On top of it Ghostrider was closed!!! So we decided to experience the rest of the rides. Everything was pretty lame except Excelerater. I remember that back in junior high Jaguar used to be amazing!! Turns out their top speed is approximately 60. I exclaimed that I drive faster then this coaster and some junior high kid reprimanded me and said that cars can't drive faster than roller coasters... Sigh.... I guess this is the only analogy I can think of.

6 Flags: High School

Go on a weekday. :) Shorter and faster lines, even on the more popular rides (Xcelerator/Silver Bullet)
I hadn't been to Knotts in years and man, I loved it more this time around. The last time I went was in middle school, when I was too much of a pansy to ride much. But this time, compared to years ago, I felt like a badass.
I love the rides. I like how at the entrance, there's a sign that includes their rating based on speed/thrill on a ride, with a 5 being the highest (sometimes the ratings may be overestimated; I went on rides that claimed they were 5s when I thought they were around a 3 or 4, so I guess it really depends on your experience).
Boo @ the Xcelerator experiencing consistent technical delays! My friends and I were waiting and were about to go up next, but then they said the ride had some delay and it might take about an hour to fix. We decided to wait for a while because it was the only good ride that we hadn't been on yet, but one of the women there insisted we come back later - she asked us to tell her one of our names and how many people were in our group so when the ride comes back on, we can just enter through the exit way - WAY TO HOOK IT UP! :) The water rides (Bigfoot Rapids/Perilous Plunge) are really smelly. :( But I guess you get over it once the ride starts.
Other than the rides, the shops are really cool too. I enjoyed their shops that had more Native American things - they were really cool. The gun shop was interesting to browse through. The toy shops are fun! Especially those cork guns they have that make that cool popping sound, which I bought. They also have a candy/fudge shop that has a lot of sweet stuff - it's kind of pricey though. 1/4 pound of candy for over $2? Ehhhh. Their caramel apples looked good though. I liked their magic shop! It had a lot of cool stuff in it.
They have an Icee stand with a lot of unique flavors that I don't usually see, like watermelon and strawberry banana, but it's really pricey. Plus, you HAVE to buy the icee in those long souvenir cups. I mean, man, can't we just get a regular cup? It closes around 7, an hour before Knotts actually closes.
Try that Dippin' Dots float and tell me how it goes.
Because I seriously wanted to try that. :)

Knott's started going downhill when Cedar Fair bought it back in '98. Ever since, the company has been transforming the place into another Six Flags-type park which is just a bunch of rides with no theming.
The only ride I really like after the Cedar Fair takeover is Ghostrider.
Still, if I had the choice, I'd go here over Magic Mountain... But that's not saying much.
If you are a mild thrill seeker than this amusement park is for you. Its sort of in between Disneyland and Six Flags. They do not have many attractions, but their rides are pretty great and thrilling. When you are at Knott's Berry Farm, you have to go to Mrs. Knotts chicken dinner.
THe only downfall of knotts berry farm is that there a lot of teenage kids that hang out there. They all come with their boyfriends and girlfriend and make out in line in front of you which is somewhat annoying.
If you just want to ride great rides this is a great amusement park.

I don't like Disneyland, the rides are boring, childish, and slow. And Six Flags is too much for me period. The roller coasters at Knotts are just right.
Growing up, I was fascinated with Native Americans so I always get a kick going there. I visited Knotts yesterday, for the first time... in 2 or 3 years.
The food pricing is outrageous. BUY NOTHING TO EAT UNLESS YOU ARE HUNGRY! There's a Johnny Rockets, so if you're gonna pay $6 or $7, go to JR. My hamburger portion was huge. OMG WATER is expensive it was $4!! I ended up buying a drink at Johnny Rockets and saving the cup and refilling it at the water fountains. Don't even get me started on the $7 funnel cakes. Bottom line is, they really try to take advantage of you there. They know you need to purchase certain stuff, and they hike up the prices. bleh! Sneak food in if you have to. Tape it to your body when you walk in. lmao
It was a Thursday, there was people there. I waited about 25 min for each ride EXCEPT for Boomerang (1hr+ AND not worth it) My favorite will always be Silver Bullet. So smooth!!!
Ghostrider gave a sore neck. There was a new ride, Pony Express, don't recommend it. It's ridiculously short! It's pretty fast though, but just when you think it's getting good, ding! Ride's over! The Screamin Swings require $5...is it me or do all similar rides with the swings require extra money?
Oh go ahead and watch Mystery Lodge if you've never watched it. Pretty cool less than 30 min long too. HOW DID HE DO THAT?!!
Never pay for the $54 ticket price at the front door. It's ridiculous you can ALWAYS find someone selling it for cheaper or Knotts will have some ticket discounts. If you don't find any...DONT GO!!!!
Do not waste $12 for a parking space, unless you're lazy and rich and you can afford it. Just park in the near by neighborhood.
I saw one girl with a meth face. yuck.

Shorter lines, beer, and big screams
I haven't been here in a couples years and to my surprise their new coasters rival that of 6 flags. The lines were short on a mid July Sunday, we rode all the coasters within 3 hours. Dip and dots.. yes they have these wonderful things. $12 parking is across the street and adult admission will run you about $50.00.

Knotts is an excellent theme park. The rides are certainly geared toward those who find Disneyland's as tame. I recommend you visit on a weekday -- you'll get more from what is spent.
On weekdays, lines are generally much shorter. Literally, you can spend about five minutes in line for Silver Bullet, exit, then return for a second ride... two rounds on Silver Bullet in less than 20 minutes.
The rides here are great... especially if you seek more thrill than Disneyland, but don't want to make the big leap to Six Flags.
As for the employees, they have all been very friendly and helpful.
Regular admission for one day is about $53. However, an annual pass to Knots is $90 -- with no blackout dates... something you may want to consider.
Additional Notes:
- If you are a AAA member, Knotts offers a discount.

The Knott's Berry Farm that I remember as a child is gone. It had personality, atmosphere, and rides to boot. Now it has rides.
In fact, it's hard to swing your arms without hitting a roller coaster support. Apparently, the parent company Cedar Fair has spent most of its budget on adding thrills to Knott's, and has ignored what made it great to begin with.
Oh well. Xcelerator makes up for that and then some. This full-circuit Intamin launcher is very possibly the greatest roller coaster in California. Why so great? How does a launch from 0-82 miles an hour in 2.3 seconds sound? Good? It's better! How about a 205 ft. outside tophat? Don't know? Look it up! Talk about airtime! It's one drawback? It breaks down a lot.
Ghostrider, their CCI woodie, is painful, exciting, and painful. I hear it was much less deadly before California's tectonic plates got all shifty beneath it. Sadly, I'll never know. I still make a point of riding it every time I go, and I always have fun in between cries of pain.
Montezooma's Revenge is a classic! This Schwartzkopf shuttle-loop scared the crap out of me as a kid, and 20 years later, it still delivers an amazing ride.
Silver Bullet? Well, it gets a bad rap among coaster enthusiasts because it doesn't have the intensity of most B&M inverts (Batman, Alpengeist, Montu, Nemesis, Raptor), but I love it. It's smooth like butter, and while not particularly intense, it's a high quality ride nonetheless.
Sierra Sidewinder. A really fun little Mack spinning coaster, and different every time!
Pony Express is a unique experience in California, as you straddle a horse-shaped car to ride it. Still, the capacity on this Zamperla launcher is terrible, so there is always a wait, even on slow days. Also, the layout and the launch are lackluster.
To sum up, coming back to this park after 20 years was quite a surprise. As a theme park goer, I wished a bit more of the budget had gone into further development of Knott's unique atmosphere. As a coaster enthusiast, however, I was thrilled by the new additions. As I said in my Magic Mountain review, these days, if you're looking for atmosphere, hit Disneyland. But if you want some great thrills, Knott's has become a close second to its Valencia competition, and it's the only place in California you'll find a full circuit Intamin coaster.

I love Knott's because it's a very small park, you can always find a great coupon somewhere for a great deal on admission, and when you go on an "off-peak" day you can do two laps around the park and be done with EVERYTHING!
The candy apples are great, as are the funnel cakes. I also enjoy the variety of Buena Park residents that act as the employees here, they add some "sass" to the park.
Also, don't go to that Halloween nonsense, it's always crowded and the worst people go there.

There's something fun about Knotts. Yes, it's not IDsney. Stop comparing it to that. The only things in common are that they both have rides, are within 10 miles of each other and offer some cartoon character walking around. but you should compare these like apples and oranges. You may like orange juice, but sometimes apple juice has a place on the table.
First of all, There's bigger rides here. It's a lot smaller than Disney and so a lot of stuff needs to be crammed into a little plot of land. They do the best that they can. It has some themes going along with it, but for the most part it's an upscale state fair without the scary carnies providing the safety of the rides.
Think of the theme parks as the stages of life. Disney is where you go when you're a kid. You're new tot he rollercoasters and rides in general. You have fun on a couple of grown up rides, but it's mostly safe and sane rides.
Think of Knotts as the middle years. You have a lot more faster and higher rides to get on while also giving you camp snoopy to fall back to. This is the place where you go before you graduate to Six Flags. Where every ride will be Exxxxxxtreme. Consider this a training lesson to your adulthood of rides.
Knotts Scary Farm is still the best Halloween tradition that everyone should go to at least once. That is if you like being scared, going through mazes and if you go close enough to halloween, dealing with loads of lines. But still, it's an experience in itself.
Then the best part of Knotts is the food. You have fried chicken in a place that is suppose to be haunted. It's good fried chicken, might I add. So it's going to rank up there with the best of things.
Then you have the funnel cake. If this place just served funnel cake alone, it'll still get four stars.
During the holidays they do promotions where if you bring in a toy valued at $10, you get in for free. How can you beat that? Not only do you get to enjoy the park for free, you also get to give some kid a toy who will greatly appreciate it. Not completely selfless, but it's still better than not giving a kid a toy.

Notsomuch, Knotts. Knottsomuch.
This was my family's favorite amusement park when my siblings and I were minors. Went Memorial Day weekend with my sister and Puerto Rican best friend. Ghost Rider gave us all a headache, as every other reviewer noted. I'm giving 2 stars rather than 1 because the bastards have my favorite ride of all time, the Xcelerator.
The food was overpriced and nowhere near the quality that it used to be. I'm glad we opted out of the Mrs. Knott's sit down dinner experience, as I am nearly certain we would've all been disappointed.
My sister and I are of the philosophy that we arrive at amusement parks when they open and leave when they kick us out. We left Knott's at 5 pm. Enough said.

We came after 4p.m. cause the tickets are only $26 and the lines weren't that long. Get on the Xcelerator, dope ride, the best 24 seconds of your life. Funnel cake mmmmmmmm.......
This place is waaay better than Disney Land, fuck you Disneyland you're wack.

This is my favorite amusement park ever! Everything here is fun. Well, everything that I can handle. I LOVE Big Foot Rapids. And Ghostrider at night is the best thing you'll ever experience.
A great feature of Knott's is Knott's Scary Farm in October. The mazes are actually pretty creepy, and my golly the people who work there sure know how to freak you out. The Ring maze from 2007 was my favorite.
The people who work here are pretty friendly, even the monsters. One of the monsters just hung out with me and my group of friends while we were waiting. Another time, we asked the guy at Big Foot if we could ride one more time, and he just let us. That was amazing because we didn't have to wait in line all over again.
They have some pretty cool shows once in a while. I came by one last year that featured D in a Box, Britney Spears, and Captain Jack Sparrow. It was definitely amusing.
The food is expensive, but of course, it's the same at every theme park. I like the cool stores they have around the theme park, like the candy store. I like that one because they have flavored honey sticks. That is what I call unique.
My family and I had a horrible experience at Knott's Berry Farm. The ride attendant at one kids ride was down-right rude to my 8 year old son and kicked him out of the line because his HAIR touched the height limit line. If you push down on his hair or gave him a haircut, he would have easily met the requirement. Two other employees agreed that the attendant was wrong. We were assured that we would be contacted by management, but the call never came.
Food prices are outrageously over-priced. $11 for a large Icee? Seriously?
3 of their top rides were out of commission the day we went.
The park and it's bathrooms are filthy.
My son paid $2 to drive a remote control car for 5 min. but the car we chose did not work. Several others in the row did not work either. We waited for 20 minutes (not exaggerating) for a refund, but all they could give us was tokens, not cash back. I told them they should put an out of order sign on the dead car so that others won't lose their money. He assured me that he would. I passed by there again at the end of the day and no sign was posted. I guess it's just another way to rip off families.
They don't seem to care about their patrons.
I will NEVER bring my family to this place again.

Sigh. My visit to Knott's with my daughter's choral group yesterday was depressing. If I'd paid the $50+ admission fee, it would've been 1 star.
Knott's was my hangout back in the day. Dancing at Cloud 9 when I was 13-14, meeting cute boys, going on the Log Ride a million times- that was Knott's heyday. A lot has changed since then. The park is now owned by a faceless corporation that just cares about money, customer service be damned.
1. The park was FILTHY. So disgusting. Trash everywhere, all of the railings were sticky and covered in god knows what. There was trash in the tracks of the coasters!
2. Horribly understaffed, which explains the mess. Rides were not well-monitored, in fact some of them were just a free-for-all. They have a potential lawsuit on their hands when some stupid teenager gets injured.
3. There's a ride that costs additional money ($5) to go on!!! WTF?Wrong!
4. Food has gone dreadfully south. I am curious if the chicken dinner place is still good- everything else was awful and expensive.
5. Again, the cost. Everyone says it's cheap but admission + $12 parking + $8 lockers + $4 drinks = robbery!
6. I love all of the Snoopy stuff, but why no Peppermint Patty merch? They literally have every character represented but her! Is the Mormon church behind this?
My daughter did have a great time, I'm sure she'd give it 4 stars. One more thing: avoid Ghostrider if you're an oldie like me. Too jerky. Silver Bullet was fun though!

I always have a great time here. It's a gorgeous park with very good rides (some too short). Now that Cedar Fair runs it it's even better, and still charming and immaculate. Park isn't too big and staff is friendly and efficient. Great AAA discounts. I was bummed the Ghost Rider was down though. :(
Halloween Haunt is just a riot!
This place sucks! They need to update some of their stuff. The rides here are not worth the wait. I still have to go every October because my husband insist that we go for the Halloween haunt which for one sucks really hard but still scares the bejesus outta me for some reason. I used to love going so I can buy a bunch of Snoopy stuff but now I can just go to the gift shop outside (the one with the big Snoopy blow up thing). But really...I think I have more fun at a church carnival then this place....

I'd rather go here than Disneyland but I can't give it a 5 star rating.
Try the Mystery Lodge. I am still amazed by how mysterious it was. I won't tell you what's in it, you just have to go. Too bad, the showing is only limited.
I also like the cowboy show. Try watching it from the wagons. Avoid the front seats unless you want to get splashed several times.
Try riding the stage coach and the train. It's not your typical theme park rides.
I'm not a fan of the 2 hour line to the Ghostrider but I'd rather spend my 2 hours in this line than on the Kogi Truck line.
If you skip this altogether, you'll find that most of the rides do not have lines and you could go over and over for as long as you want. Well, at one point they'd ask you to step down and re-enter just so their counters can account for you again.
I'm a fan of the La Revolucion, WaveSwinger, Dragon Swing, Timber Mountain Log Ride, and Boomerang.

Fun theme park with just enough rides and things to do and see...not massive with miles of walking. Your one day visit covers the map. Camp Snoopy can only be found here - fun times had by all ages. If I grew up in SoCal, I'd buy a season pass to hang out here. It was spontaneous, as we already had tixx to Universal Studios, but I thought the kids would love it, and I was right hehe. The Pony Express ride is a must! Tickets here are about the same with Great America & Six Flags Marine World, but with AAA, you get 40% off regular admission. Keep in mind that kids are adult prices if they're taller than 48". Our total was approx. $100, but still less than Universal & Disneyland. I enjoyed browsing the shops outside the park and looking into the pie/dessert shops...such variety!
I'm mainly writing this review on Knotts' new souvenir concept. You know when you get on a ride and they take your picture which you can purchase? Well now they have a video which you can purchase. One of the rides we went on has a web cam in front of you that films you throughout the ride. When you get off the ride you see a short preview of the film. The DVD is $15 for one disk or $20 for two. SAVE YOUR MONEY because it is so not worth it.
When I finally got home to watch the disk... it's nothing but an advertisement for the park with a few footages of you on the ride. So I'll say it again... SAVE YOUR MONEY!
One more tip... GHOSTRIDER is a real rough "rickety" ride. Think about going down a road filled with potholes, bumps, rocks in a real bad shape car with no suspension at a very high speed. You'll be jerked around soo bad that it hurts. Yeah, not fun.

Okay... everyone knows I'm a huge Disneyland fan... and the last time I went to Knott's Berry Farm just seemed to confirm to me that I was right all along - stick with Disneyland! During my last visit, I wasn't overly impressed with the ride selection the park has. It seems to never change or add any new rides. I guess if you're into the nostalgia that comes with riding "Diarrhea's Revenge," then it might be a place to spend an afternoon, but overall, there just isn't that much to do here.
Sure, there are a few "grown-up" rides, but nothing I haven't been on before and if I wanted the whole "grown-up" factor, I would've driven to Magic Mountain. Even Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant just isn't what it used to be. I don't know, I guess this place has lost its umph on me.

We were utterly disappointed in Knott's Berry Farm. We went on a weekday in October and the park was a complete ghost town. On the upside, there were no lines at all for the rides and you could go on as many times as you wanted. On the downside, everything was closed. All of the shops were closed, nearly all of the food places were closed, and seriously about half the rides were closed for the Haunted Halloween at night, including the Xcelerator. We went on 4 different rides and were done with the place after 2 hours. They shouldn't be charging full price for admission if they're going to close half the park.
I'm sure the park is a decent place to have a good time when it's actually OPEN, but for us it was a complete waste of time and money. We won't be going back.
Went this Saturday night, Me and my 'gurl' Paula had a blast. Tickets after 4pm for 25.99 each ticket, can't beat that. Park open on Saturdays until 10pm.. tons of time to enjoy yourself and feel like a kid again... ;)
Log ride a classic, Sliver Bullet " is crazy at night".. Didn't ride the Pony Express...... but looked relaxing... haha ;)
Funnel Cake a must!!! ;P yummy.... 7.75 not too bad.... enough for 2 hungry ride goers!!!
Knott's Berry Farm is a classic park, love the food, even if it was for only 5 hours... it was a great date!! ;)
Lines weren't long at all... 15-20 mins... Not to packed... online deals...
I would do this again... sorry no pics... will have on next review...

Boysenberry pie, boysenberry punch, boysenberry jelly, boysenberry shortbread cookies, boysenberry topping on funnel cake, I love all things boysenberry! I grew up in SoCal so KBF is part of my earliest memories. In the late 70's they had a corral where you could ride donkeys around. And even though I don't eat chicken anymore, I have a fondness for Mrs. Knott's Chicken Restaurant. The mashed potatoes, biscuits, and aforementioned boysenberry punch and pie do the trick every time. Knott's Berry Farm also has roller coasters, one being Montezuma's Revenge. You have to love any place that names one of its most popular rides after traveler's diarrhea.
I have an age old beef with this park that spans generations.
The historically preserved school house with the hand written scripts and "bell" that are on display are those of my Great-Grandmother Pearl Chenoweth Bell. Whom was the Grand-Daughter of Alexander Graham Bell.
Not only does Knotts Berry Farm fail to recognize this association with Alexander Graham Bell, they have refused to allow our family to view or read her hand written books that they own. She donated the books to them in 1971 and had no intention at all to dis-allow our family to even view them, she thought she was doing a good thing for history.
As it turns out, there are over 400 pages of hand written materials (a book) on display now and then, owned by Knotts Berry Farm that is a book written by my Great Grandmother Pearl Chenoweth Bell whom I met before she died at 101 in Orange County. She was the Grand-Daughter of Alex Bell, and her writings contain a large amount of input about his life, from the eyes of his Grand-Daughter, again, my Great-Grandmother.
None of this has ever been published, ever in history, as the owners of Knotts Berry Farm are mostly concerned about their Entertainment business and theme park. And I am gravely concerned about what this entertainment or theme park will do with our family heirlooms in the future.
Our Great Grandmother was a giving lady, and did the best she could by providing these documents with what she thought at the time was the best public repository. She felt and said that Disneyland (Disney) could not be trusted, so she selected the other party at the time, which was operating as a "Museum". Yet we have learned that this company is only for an entertainment profit that does not care about history. Which is why the public has NEVER seen her writings about Alexander Bell.
I don't understand how an Entertainment company can own, and suppress these documents to the adversion of historical access.
I just want my Great Great Grandma Pearl Bell's book back about her Grandpa, whom invented the phone. I just want it back, and we have been trying for 30 years but they won't even let us see it anymore.

I give Knott's Berry farm three stars for the most part. I have not been in 8 years and much as changed since then such as their prices for their food and other junk. But I have to admit we went into the $26.50 after 4pm which is not bad especially if you get out of work. Anyways my brothers and I went on a Saturday. The lines were long especially on Perlous Plunge, 2 hour and unfortunately they were only running one boat at a time =( So loading the passengers took forever. Parking was $12 dollars there, but I am sure if you parked at the mall, it is for free, but who wants to chance it right =) The rest of the lines for the rides were great and short. We waited at most 30 minutes and the park was busy. One thing I have to frown upon is they do not have an estimate of how long the line is going to be be. Anyways we rode8 rides in those hours and we liked Xcelarator and Ghost Rider the best. I not remember Ghost rider being that rough to be honest with you. To play the games is not bad $2.00 which is better than Six Flags who want $3.00.
Anyways we wanted to try the Knott's fried chicken by my friend Marlon, but there is always a next time.

I went to Knott's for the first time in over 10 years and it hasn't really changed much. This time, with my 4-year-old daughter in tow, we spent most of our time in Camp Snoopy and Ghost Town. Camp snoopy is really aging and the rides are simple, but my daughter LOVED it. The park was not very crowded at all. If that was because it was Easter, or the recession, or just a general decline of attendance at knott's I am not sure - we practically just walked right onto any ride in the park.
I give this place 2 stars for being good fun for a 4-year-old at a reasonable price, but it is aging terribly and they need to invest in new kid-friendly attractions. One concern is that this place also had a lot of gangsta's (and wannabe's) than I personally prefer in a children's park and it felt less-safe as a result. More visible security would have been reassuring.
For me, I think going every few years or so is probably enough, unless they invest and give me a new reason to return more often.

The four SoCal Amusement Park Staples
1. Magic Mountain
2. Universal Studios
3. Disneyland
4. Knott's Berry Farm
I've been to all four more times than I can count (my family used to go like twenty times a year, whenever relatives came to visit - I have a lot of relatives), and I must say, each is very different and fun in its own right.
Living in OC, it's kind of a hassle to go out to Magic or Universal, and Disneyland is just BORING if you're into thrills. Knotts was the perfect solution for those days when I just wanted to go somewhere close and get an adrenaline rush.
I used to think Knotts was big. In fact, as a child, I got lost here on numerous occasions. In high school, I finally came to realize just how small the entire park was. That said, they sure pack in a lot of really fun rides!
1. Perilous Plunge - a MUST RIDE. You will get SOAKED! On hot days, the lines are incredibly long, though. Also, be sure that everyone fits not only the height requirements, but the size requirements as well. Really skinny people/kids will not be allowed on the ride (someone died on this ride like 10 years ago because she fell through the restraint bar - true story).
2. Log Ride - It's just a classic!
3. Xcelerator - This ride gives you SUCH a rush! It's definitely worth the wait!
4. Jaguar - It's an okay ride that doesn't go too fast.
5. Montezuma's - Hello? Can we say CLASSIC! It's the simplest ride ever, but it's just CONSISTENTLY fun. Up, loop, up... freeze.. drop, loop, up... freeze... drop... I could go on this over and over again!
6. Ghost Rider - I'm not a fan of wooden coasters (they're just not that smooth and so I get headaches), but everyone loves riding this, especially in the dark!
7. Boomerang - A good ride, for sure. Just look for the big blue ride in front of Perilous Plunge.
8. Funnel Cake - Knott's is famous for their funnel cake. Can we say YUM YUM YUM? I love love love their funnel cake, especially with strawberries on top! The apple topping - Meh. If you go to Knott's, you HAVE to try their funnel cake. It is most definitely a MUST!
9. Snoopy on Ice - This is really not as stupid as I thought it would be. Now that I'm a bit older, I sometimes just want a break. But I don't want to sit on a bench doing nothing! So I go catch a Snoopy on Ice. It's definitely fun for kids.
10. Boardwalk games - Is it just me, or are the games at Knott's rigged to be ridiculously easy? I always walk out with tons of useless stuffed animals.
11. Food - I never ever eat inside! Why? There are plenty of eateries just outside the gates (try Mrs. Knott's Chicken).
Over the past few years, I've taken advantage of the $20 After 4pm deal, but with the economy going down the toilet, they've recently announced another great deal. Two for the price of one! So basically, it just comes out to $25 per person for the whole day, so long as you enter in pairs. Perfect? Heck yeah!
Who's down for a Knott's UYE?

We went the day after Memorial Day to avoid lines and get more out of out last day of vacation. We lucked out with no lines, but many attractions were closed due to the small turnout. Further, some rides like the Xlerator broke and weren't available most of the day. All in all it was fun, but it could have been better.
This was my first visit since 1982, but I remember the park being much better than a Six Flags. It really isn't much better. They need more land and fresh attractions, which isn't likely to happen any time soon.
Three stars for still being open in this economy.
They have some interesting artifacts and displays located in Ghost Town. The Log Ride was fun, but needs updating. The roller coasters were great, when open. There was decent food selection, including TGI Fridays and Johnny Rockets, and the staff was friendly across the board. This is a great place to visit with kids or as a family. Many of the rides accommodate larger groups so the experience can be shared.
I recall parking was $8 and you could pay $18 for VIP parking. We paid $8 and didn't walk far at all since the park was virtually empty. If the park was packed, it might be worth it to pay extra if you plan to come in and out throughout the day.
