The course is fine. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it one way or the other - the range is horrible and the people that play here suck (we were hit into 4+ times by Korean men who didn't understand etiquette). The price is the same as all American Golf courses.
I bet this place would be fun if you go out late and it's not too crowded - I will have to do that next time.

For the course, it's pretty average, greens fees aren't terrible. There were a lot of dry spots and the greens weren't spectacular. It took us 5.5 hours to play 18 on a Sunday morning.
For the range, absolutely, positively, NEVER HIT BALLS ON THIS RANGE! There's no air movement on the bottom tier, so have fun sweating your butt off. Most notably, the range balls are comparable to marshmallows. Super soft and so worn that you can barely tell they have dimples. You get absolutely no read on the flight of your ball, it's an awful waste of time and money. $6 for a small bucket. No thanks, never again. I told them about it, of course no discount.

I played this course on a Wednesday morning and it played really fast. 4 hours for 18 holes. Great challenging course with plenty of elevation changes and challenges around every corner. I walked the course and it really was not that bad. Greens are well kept and the fairways were in great condition. Defiantely would play this course again. We even were able to tee off 45 minutes ahead of schedule.
this place can get pretty packed on weekends, but i've heard that weekday mornings are golden. if you can get on and there aren't too many beginners, you'll get thru your 18 in no time.
i always enjoy this course. well-kept and with just enough challenges, i highly recommend knollwood! oh yeah, and don't forget to stop by before the back 9 for a hot dog :)
