If you are looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay, this is not your place. In fact, if that had been the purpose of my stay, they would have recieved 1 star.

However, if you are looking for a cheap place to crash during your travels that will provide you with a private bath and a bed to call your own for the night, this is a deal. With a AAA discount I believe I paid just under $50 for the night. The place is very noisy, not super clean - yet not totally disgusting and there's a good chance there will be something missing from the room (linens, toiletries, tv not working, etc)

So my friend has been unemployed for approx 4 months and recently got a job working for a pharm company (think erection pills).  He asked me if if I would help him move up to Kalamazoo and I gladly obliged.  Since he was on a budget we opted for the cheapest option we could find on Kayak, which is why we landed at Knights Inn, and the adventure begins....
Upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely woman (think crack whore) who was in the process of screaming at the top of her lungs at management because she was being asked to leave the hotel.  Her eviction was premised upon her recent (10 minutes prior to our arrival, too bad we missed that show) blowup with her self proclaimed fiance about his promiscuous activity with another woman in the hotel room while she had been "out".  Management had initially been worried about her violent behavior so they had locked the entry door and called to police.  In other words, we could watch from our truck or stand next to the bitch and listen from there.  Just as we reached the doors to get a closer look, head management arrives and decided that she was only going to complain and not fight thus we were allowed entry and the show really got going.  She was yelling and swearing with several "workers" present trying to get the situation under control.  We sat in two chairs in the lobby about 5 feet from the action, just enjoying the show.  Finally after several minutes of venting, repeated butchering of the English language, and it being pointed out that two "guests" i.e. us were waiting to be checked in, she was told that the police were on the way and that she would not be allowed to spend the night.  She actually took this quite well, screaming that she would be suing the establishment and would "own all their asses" and proceeded to head back to her room to pack and change into her running shoes, more on those shoes later...
We then proceeded to check in, asking for a room that we could watch the truck from, we were told we would be given the "good" room, but we wouldn't be able to see the truck, management assured us it would be safe and that police regularly patrolled the parking lot (ohh, great) and that cars up front would be watched 24 hrs a day by the employes, however, they never told us what to do if we thought the employes themselves were shady.  We were then told that "Tony" would lead us to our room, 118, wow.
Upon reaching the room, Tony invited himself in to make sure everything was up to snuff.  We were missing a remote (see first review) so Tony (who would remind you of a pimp) used the room phone to call for another remote and then ran off to recover it.  We took a quick look around and decided to check the bed bugs reports before touching the bedding and headed for the truck for our "supplies".
Upon reaching the truck we were greeted by a patrol cruiser and two officers headed in the direction that the above mentioned bitch had headed.  They were actually moving at a pretty good pace towards the dumpster, which is where she had ran to.  However, crack has this weird side effect that makes you run away from police very quickly, which is where the running shoes play a key role, it probably also helped that "bitch had warrants" as told to us by management and the piggies.  (WOW, and as I write this a police siren is going by, possibly right outside our door, however, we are too afraid to check what is actually happening outside)
We pack up as many of our "valuable" possessions as we can get in/on our hands, arms, legs, necks, etc. and head back to the room.  Tony is sitting on the first bed trying to get the TV remote to work and I am left wondering if I had fully closed the door when I headed to the truck, which I am completely sure I had done, thus I am left to believe that Tony has a master key for the rooms, fucking great, we are moving the expensive stuff inside right to where the pimp can steal it while we are out.  Anyone have any good hiding spots in a hotel? We decided upon the bath tub, which is the farthest from the door and also the most turns, hopefully slowing any would be thief.
We head back to the truck for one more trip after Tony leaves.  I make SURE the door is closed, not really sure what I think I am accomplishing, ohh well.  However, by the time we reach the truck I am laughing my ass off because of the situation and how funny the look on my friends face is, it literally looked like he was going to cry.  By this point he has already asked me about switching to a new hotel, which I am not behind because THIS is going to be FUN.  While in the truck the the police come back, now were are going to refer to her as quick crack whore, had gotten away and they were going to head out.  Perfect timing because we needed to retrieve our handguns (which we are not totally sure about the legality of here) and grabbed the last few items and locked the truck.
I'll post more, look for another review.
