Do yourself a favor and pass on Frank's to make it out to Knight's.

Honestly, the quality of the food is very similar (see upcoming Frank's review for more detailed analysis). This is diner food people, it is what it is.

However, there is a certain amount of charm at Knight's that seems devoid at Frank's. It's something can't really describe, an "intangible" as the John Maddens the world over would describe it. The service is incredibly heartfelt and helpful, it reminds me of the Oklahoma nice I experience in that state. Not only is the service good, but they seem genuinely interested in having honest conversations with you.

And speaking of John Madden, as soon as you walk in here *BOOM* fresh paper gets slapped in front of you! Also: coffee-refill-rates are some of the highest in Spokane.

I was so excited to finally try Knight's. Wow, was I disappointed!

I paid $10 for a plate of hasbrowns, 2 eggs, a link of German sausage and 2 pieces of toast. The hasbrowns were burnt, the toast was too.

She offered mustard for the sausage - one would think this was a standard condiment. When I looked at the bill she had charged me $0.85 for using one squirt! SERIOUSLY????

I will never go back and recommend you stay away.

There are 2  supposed Rail Car diners in the Spokane area. One is a brilliant diner with excellent food and amazing service call "Knight's Diner." The other is a shame of a chain that serves less than fresh meats , eggs, and produce it is called Frank's Diner. Do not be fooled all rail car diners in Spokane are not created equal.

If you want the best breakfast in Spokane, take yourself to Knights Diner.

The standard by which all converted rail car diners should be judged.  The only seating is counter, the activity behind the counter is organized chaos, the portions are big, the coffee is bottomless and the food is great.

I recently went back for the first time since it moved from it's old Division address... it has not lost one bit of it's charm.

This place has nothing but great dining memories for me. The diner is actually an historic train car built by the Pullman Car Company. I love sitting at the bar on the row of stools so I can watch the cooks work the spatulas. I've only experienced the wonderful breakfasts here. The corned beef hash was awesome and the coffee kept 'a comin'. You've got to experience this place at least once.

You will never find this place without a line but it is well worth the wait. The food is great and the portions are plentiful. I recommend their breakfast, best around!

This restaurant is a staple of Spokane and if you don't eat there when you come to visit you are missing out on a rare thing.  The atmosphere is nice the people are nice and everything is made to order so no worries about getting left over hasbrowns.  This is truly one of the few place you can go to get a good breakfast and good service.
