What can I say about Paul DeJong that has not been said before. He puts on one heck of a karaoke show. His equipment is always rock solid, the sound is better than most full time karaoke bars, and he has one of the best books I have ever seen.

Paul is the best KJ in San Francisco! You want to be the star? His heart and soul shines when he is making YOU shine:)
So you want to be a rockstar?!? You are when Paul is KJing...he does his thing well and even when you don't, he makes you feel like you did. You don't believe me? Visit his site after your 10 minutes of fame and listen for yourself. He'll record you while you sing and you can listen after the Tequila wears off...you be the judge. In the meantime, you will feel like a woman, or a man...you decide - because he even has dress up clothes certain nights of the week! WHAT?!?
YES YOU ARE the rockstar when you find Paul...he will be sure of it!
You can tell he is doing what he loves...THAT is nothing but - contagious! -

KJPaul ran karaoke at our wedding party, and raised the event to a totally new level. It was a fine party to begin with -- lots of food and drink and nice people. I expected that a little karaoke would be fun later in the party, once the older folks went off to bed and the younger generation started getting their drink on.
That happened, and it was fun. But the amazing surprise was how Paul's open, inviting vibe worked for all generations, and how karaoke magically bridged the party divide. The mothers sang together on mic and the grandmothers, seated, happily sang along. Toddlers sang Lady Gaga and danced like toddlers. Everyone danced to the summer jams, and everyone sang along to Bowie. My brother and I sang "Easy Lover", and you know we rocked it.
Out at a bar, of course, KJPaul's karaoke party can't be beat. But you'd be amazed at how flexible and fun it is at a private party. -

KJ Paul was the main entertainment at our company holiday party this past Friday and was a huge hit! He came with a large selection of songs and a rack of costumes. Decked out in his own rocking outfit, he made everyone feel comfortable and provided a great environment for people to sing.
Prior to the party, KJ Paul conducted a site inspection to get a better understanding of our space and what to bring. During the event, he constantly checked the sound quality for each performer and provided extra mics and props to backup singers. He took lots of pictures and stayed two hours past the scheduled event time (at no extra charge) because everyone was having so much fun and he didn't want to close down the party!
If you're looking for quality entertainment at your next event, definitely talk to KJ Paul. His prices are super reasonable and it's very easy to work with his agent Beatrice to book him for your event. You won't find a nicer and more accommodating DJ who is interested in making you look good and ensuring all of your guests leave your party feeling like a star. -

I have been meaning to write this for awhile. KJPaul was a miracle worker for my event.
I threw a 21st birthday party for a young man who had a very awkward family & friend situation. He had about 40 people who either hardly knew each other or hardly got along. Different cultures...different languages...different everything. Early on, people were actually sitting silently with their backs to the wall and their hands in their laps.
I was just about to settle into a long uncomfortable night... when.....KJPAUL CAME TO THE RESCUE!!!!! From the moment he entered the room the vibe belonged to him. Within a half an hour there was music..laughter and buzz. Bilingual songs and the guests were taking interest in each other. The lad had the birthday party of his dreams.
Don't think twice. This is the guy you want. -

I LOVE KJ Paul's events!
I've been to several of his karaoke nights around town. My favorite is El Rio (the vibe is super mellow and it seems like everyone wants to sing!). My second favorite is actually BOTH of his nights at Deco Lounge. The Tuesday night crowd is sweet and active, and the Thursday night crowds (especially for the Porn-E-Oke night the first Thursday of the month) is a little more rowdy and fun. Both nights there's plenty of good singing and the occasional stellar cringe-worthy standout. Sometimes that singer is ME :)
Be sure to check out his site for all the different nights of the week he's got karaoke gigs, and especially watch out for his special events. Book him for your private party and the fun will last until the last guest goes home! -

KJ Paul is an awesome karaoke jockey. We have been going to a few of his nights at Deco and Dalva and had such a great time. We just recently hired him for our wedding. He brought his costume rack to the wedding and it really made the wedding a big success. People were changing outfits to sing songs. It was really fun. The wireless mics really make the whole setup even sweeter. He really has almost any song you can think of. You don't really even need to look at the book.

I went to a KJ Paul event at El Rio last Wednesday and was so happy to have my first great karaoke experience in awhile (I've been out of the game a few months). I've been underwhelmed by Karaoke in San Francisco when it's compared to what I see as a vibrant peninsula/south bay scene, but I can see that Paul is working hard to keep the dream alive!
My first test is the song book: I go to "Spandau Ballet/Gold" as a quality book indicator, for some reason most places do not have this track, but KJ Paul certainly did. And his book otherwise did not dissapoint, it was full of all the back catalogue staples but up to date with new songs other KJ's don't have.
I went with a buddy super early and it was only us and the KJ singing for about two hours. But Paul was not dissapointed in this, joining us to pick tracks inspired by our selections.
His quality efforts were rewarded when a crowd started growing as the evening got a little later. I had to depart for work, but left hoping I'd be able to go to another KJPaul event soon. -

Ooooo Weeeee!! KJ Paul brings an inspiring and friendly edge to any party. He's got more songs than you can shake a stick at and a cluster of costumes so absurd and fun that you can get into character like a proper rockstar. I hired him for a party and he truly made that party happen! Also he's a handyman and gentleman!

The only reason Paul doesn't get 5 stars is because I hate (read* I'm a terrible singer) karaoke.
He has every song and arrives with a relaxed and accommodating attitude. A great recommendation for any event where you are looking for something special. -

Paul is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. He is very commited to his job and always goes the extra mile. I always get a warm vibe at any of his karaoke events. His equipment is state of the art. I am especially impressed with his ability to record you if requested and have it on his web site by the next day with an individual link. Oh, also he has a karaoke kart. I have never seen anything like it. Portable karaoke for parks and street fairs....and he makes you sound fantastic too.

KJPaul is as good as it gets!
I've been to his events at several different locations and he's always concerned about how good the sound is, and making the evening flow. Some KJs are not interactive enough, some too interactive, some have uncalled-for attitude, but KJPaul just wants everyone to have a good time. -

KJ Paul basically turned San Francisco's karaoke scene from annoying CDG's to the computer generation of MP3/CDG's. Paul had computerized karaoke figured out 3 years before the Mint switched over to a computer. He also made my life easier by prying the discs out of my hands and telling me..."it's okay Luke...Let Go!" He sold me this Sony Vaio that kept overheating, but I aimed a Costco fan at it to keep it cool while running the show at Amnesia. That was the beginning of the computer age of karaoke in San Francisco. I don't know about the rest of the world, but I consider Paul perhaps among the first few humans to run karaoke from a laptop. So I (we) owe it to you Paul for pushing karaoke into the efficiency and quality that we always hoped for. Just go to Paul's shows and his equipment looks like it could launch the space shuttle while running two nights at Deco. A true professional with his gear and the right amount of patience and caring to put up with drunken spoiled hipsters and drama queens. Paul always goes the extra mile to make sure everybody is having fun. The 5 stars also goes to your friendship over the past 9 years. You've always been extremely generous and willing to help people.

LOVE KJ Paul. I dont even like karaoke. But he was some of the main entertainment at my brothers wedding and not only did he keep energy going but he brought a MOUNTAIN of fun costumes. He must somehow be also involved w a costume shop. He even let my aunt keep one which made her year. He is also amazing with keeping energy up and being fun and positive to everyone. Total 5 stars.

KJ Paul is awesome! I just can't believe how many great songs are in his book -- stuff you don't find elsewhere. And I've been to costume night at Deco and it's super fun. Why not wear something wacky while singing karaoke? Plus, he's a really nice guy who doesn't let anyone feel left out. Definitely check out one of his nights and i don't think you will be disappointed.
