Sometimes when I'm driving across town, I just want to hear "Everybody's Working For The Weekend" or "Anyway You Want It" or "Midnight Blue" and I want to hear it now.  Loud.  Real loud.  F**king loud.

Then I turn it off and go about by business as if nothing ever happened.

Hear all the latest songs from ten years ago!

Wow what an UN-kickass radio station! Go Clear Channel! I am un-fortunately forced to listen to this worthless station far too much during my work day. They don't have a DJ but I have to say I am a far bigger fan of DJ's than computer controlled randomizers. Listening to this station can be done in almost every major city, that's right the exact same station is in over 50 markets.

If you enjoy a mix of music from the 80's and 90's music that's not particularly any good, or in any sort of well strung together fashion, all the while enjoying NOT supporting your local music, or anything local for that matter than this is the station for you!

All the songs that remind me of my fingers getting slammed in lockers! Where else could you get the song "you dropped the bomb on me"? This bedazzled faux auzzie rocker is amazing/amusing in his audacity/scatology!

I can't stand this station, or those like it, to be honest.
If i want an Ipod on shuffle...that's what my own is for, and i'd have better music on it.
I do like to lack of DJ chatter, only because so many Seattle DJ's are so horrid.
2 stars  because the day I won a week paid trip to Vegas  playing the Newlywed Game with Andy Savage is the exact same day they fired him and switched to this format and they honored the trip!

1 star for ocasionally having a song I can sing along to in the car while waiting for something better to play elsewhere or my Ipod to charge.

I'm not sure if anybody has been to any other major city with one of these, but the "computer-controlled" format that KJAQ is pushing is beamed all over the country.  Baltimore just got an identical station right before we moved here.
The music is alright, but I'd rather be listening to KEXP most of the time.

When this station first came out I HATED it. The company I work for had been advertising on KROCK and we visited the station frequently to record commercials. One day we were saying hello to Andy Savage in the halls and the next week he was gone. How cruel!

At first I didn't get it. Who wants to listen to the Cure, followed by Bread, followed by Def Leppard? Ugh. But, after a while, the format grew on me, and the lack of DJs was actually refreshing. It is like listening to an iPod in a way. I wish I could fast forward through half the shit they play. Luckily I have the option of changing the station.

One thing I still don't like about Jack is the stupid voice messages they play. They don't take requests, yet they let you call up and leave a message that they'll play on the air. Man, do people leave the LAMEST messages! It's like legitimate prank calling for adults.

I would like to note that the people who work at Jack ROCK. Especially JVB. She's the best.

I like to take my iPod and play all my songs on shuffle.  ALL of them.  That's what Jack FM is, a whole bunch of songs on shuffle.  No format at all.  That's right, you can hear some New Wave, dance, 90's alt, and tons of one hit wonders, with a dash of current, and a smidgen of adult contemporary.  Hopefully this station will stay that way for a while, god knows how many format changes it's been through (I still miss KXRX though).  The other nice thing... No DJ's.  Sure, I like a DJ here and there, but the bad thing about them is when they go on and on and on.  So no format, no DJs, is there anything else great about it?  No Pledge Drives.

The major downside though to no DJ's is that you never know what song or artist you heard was.  But I can live with that.

This station RULES! If your iPod had only the best stuff from the 80's and 90's and was set to shuffle...that's what this is.

KJAQ, yet another CBS Radio station has a refreshingly eclectic mixture of everything from Donna Summer to Guns N' Roses. It is part of the "Variety Hits" bandwagon in the U.S. today and an attempt to create a super rock station that will please everyone's varied tastes in old, new and in-between popular music (Pop Music now days is a really broad term). Jack FM's slogan is "We play what we want." Poppycock, they play what their Program Director tells them to via a play list and then maybe the DJ can throw in one he or she likes on occasion. At any rate (Should be a common Yelp term), it is currently my favorite Seattle radio station because of its unpredictability (at present). For instance, one time I heard Tell Me Something Good by Rufus followed up by, I think it was Livin On A Prayer by Bon Jovi. It was refreshing and not uncommon for this station. That's what I like about it, well that, and no Jocks forcing their On-Air personas and bad puns on you.

Now here are the only things I don't like about Jack FM and there are only two of them:

1. The sarcastic manner of speaking of the guy that jokes around about what Jack is up to, etc. I know it's pre-recorded but I just want to punch the guy.

2. They should have one DJ that announces the title, artist and album of the song or set that was just played, nothing else, just that. I'll hear a song I haven't heard in ages and won't remember the title, artist or album and I want to know that. I imagine the record labels would want me to have that information as well, just incase I wanted to buy the CD.

If KJAQ fixes those two problems, I'll come back and give them a fifth star. In the mean time, I recommend them as a viable alternative to Seattle's other rock stations.
