We contracted A New Kitchen to do a large remodel on our home, including: tearing down walls, gutting the bathroom and kitchen down to the studs, adding new windows in the entire home as well as new plumbing and electrical. For a job this size, I suggest getting a contract, from your lawyer, to be sure that all things are spelled out ahead of time.
During the entire remodel my partner and I lived in the house which (for good or not) allowed us to experience every detail during the process.
Overall, we are pleased with his work. Two years later our stucco started to crack and Dwight replaced the stucco on the front and back of the house at no extra charge. -

Don't do it!
I discovered Dwight Van Slyke DBA: A New Kitchen, and was convinced by his portfolio that his work was solid. He promises a quality that he cannot deliver, he mis-measured my kitchen leaving me with new cabinets which are much shorter than the old, and one year after signing a contract, STILL has not completed the work (although he kept my cc info on file and managed to charge my credit card for the completion). I have a dispute open with my credit card company, whom he has told he has filed chapter 13.
AVOID DWIGHT VAN SLYKE and his family!! -

Excellent attention to detail from start to finish on our kitchen remodel. No surprise change orders for minor adjustments. All subcontractors were extremely professional and performed high quality work. We have lived through remodeling projects before and this was by far the smoothest and most organized. We will call them again for our next remodel project.

Meet the Business Owner: Dwight V.
I grew up in Golden Hills and went to Our Lady of Angles, Roosevelt and San Diego High. I served in the army in Viet Nam. Started my construction career for ABC plumbing when I was 19, moved on to heavy equipment and just fell into a remodel of an older home, I was hooked after that and I just love remodeling homes.
