This is the way a train station should look.
If you ever take the train from St. Louis, do it at this station. It is cute, it is well maintained, and gasp, it's a REAL train station. Our downtown station is a mess. It is really nothing more than a gravel lot and a glorified trailer. The first time I took a train from this location, I was horrified by the surroundings. The Kirkwood station is completely different. The station is old and quaint, and will put you on the EXACT same trains that roll through downtown. There is ample parking (even if you have to fight some of the Kirkwood bustle), and all the people that work here are super friendly and helpful.
It is also far easier to get in and out of for people dropping off and picking up, will cost exactly the same, and you get to look at cute little Kirkwood while you are waiting for the Amtrak as opposed to a bunch of abandoned buildings.
Easily the best Amtrak choice in the area. I highly suggest checking it out next time you take a train.
