Since April 2009 I had been coming here for all of my office needs such as; faxing, notary services, and brief research via using their internet.  The staff there had been very nice and thorough in their help.   You can park on the street that parallel their business off of Roy at the minimum of $.25 if you have change, and depending on how long you're going to spend in there.

The notary services were $20 for a few documents but I thought that was reasonable.  I would recommend doing your internet research at home because it can be pricey here.  I think $5 for 30 minutes.  I had gone here about four times already and will come back here again for my office services.

From my twitter the day I visited this FedEx Kinko's to fax an important document that could cost me over $200:

"This Kinkos FedEx Office isn't PopCopy by any means, but only bc they lack passion & creativity. Boredom, disdain, & general malaise? Check."

See? Everything you need to know about this place in 140 characters or less! If you simply *must* visit this location for something, I'd recommend buying a reloadable card to put money on for copies and faxes to just be done with it.

The store itself feels very busy and cluttered. Curiously the front area is very large but feels crowded and maze-like. Far away in the distance you spy one or two employees doing their damnedest not to make eye contact or acknowledge your presence lest they have to greet or provide service to you in some way.

PROTIP: Using the self-serve fax machine, if you don't need a cover sheet your first page is free.

*If you haven't seen Dave Chapppelle's sketch "PopCopy", by all means it alone is worth the S1 price of Chappelle's Show.

OMG, I'd rather watch Ashlee Simpson-Wentz make another album than to go to this Kinko's again.

I simply don't understand why customer service is and always has been so consistently terrible at Kinko's.  It's not just one store in one city - this has happened to me at multiple locations throughout San Francisco, DC, and Seattle.  Seriously it is *not* acceptable to make me stand at the counter for 5, 10, 15 minutes being outright *IGNORED* by the staff, who hide behind machines somewhere in the back section of the store.

NEVER is there anyone stationed on the floor and available to help customers.  And I seem to be dealing with something colossally time-sensitive *every* time this happens, further adding to the aggravation.  I mean, usually people use a service like Kinko's because they're in a jam - home computer or printer is down, need something asap, and so on.  The last thing I have time to do is stand around being ignored until I'm basically forced to climb over the counter and club someone over the head in order to get some f***ing help.  Seriously.

They get one star for having self-serve and self-pay copier and fax options.  It's the only thing they're good for.

Totally unprofessional business. The staff is rude and not the least bit helpful. I have put up with their horrible behavior and mistakes too many times just because it is in a convenient location. No More.

I realize that working at copy shop sucks out your soul. (Trust me, I worked at one). I realize that you deal with idiots and old people all day. I realize that collating papers for 6 hours a day is torture. I know those aprons cut off the blood flow to your head. But, hey, don't be rude to me just because you hate your job!

If I'm not being ignored then I'm being treated like crap. All I want to do is get some frickin' brochures folded! Sorry that giving you business is such an inconvenience!!

I'm not giving this Kinko's four stars just to be contrary, I actually just had a really good experience here while printing up my homemade Christmas cards the other week. In fact, I had such a good experience that, as we were leaving, I turned to my wife and said "I'm going to write a good review for this place on Yelp."

The staff was quick and attentive, and printed up the cards without any problems. Then, they almost undercharged us. And, when we pointed out that they were forgetting to charge us for part of the job, they took 25% off the bill to thank us.

I've had a lot of awful Kinko's experience in my day (see: http://www.yelp.com/bi...), but in comparison, this Kinko's was like going on holiday.

Worthless.

Similar to Libby I knew better, I knew I shouldn't go to Kinko's.

I did. I'm in a bad mood now.
Do you think Kinkos puts a bad mood agent in the ventilation system?

Come on... It's not *Hell*. It's kinkos. Relax.

I was only compelled to spend my time writing about a kinkos on yelp because I stood behind a woman in line who was absolutely livid with an employee over some print margins that were incorrect.

After they figured it out (her mistake, not theirs) she admitted to me that she was freaking out because she was pushing her deadline so tight. It was that moment that I had this thought:

Perhaps working at a copy store is "soul-sucking" because you're always dealing with a customer who is running behind. ...and usually they're late doing something important.

Now THAT sounds like Hell.

This is the only Kinkos location I have had problems at.  I used to go to Woodinville and Bellevue branches quite frequently for business and they are pretty good.  Woodinville even printed up huge banners for me with 6 hours notice.  A+  The downtown branches are OK, too.  I have tried to avoid this Kinkos since before they moved.  I have experienced: being charged double for fed-ex mailings (it took 6 months to get reimbursed), having 2 (important!) faxes lost, and a computer cutting out on me right when I was printing 200 pages.  Not all of this is the employees fault but they are usually not quick to help.   Actually, they seem to disappear around the corner right when crowds walk in.  Sneaky!

I knew better than to go here today.  I literally walked in the door knowing that I would have a miserable experience.  And I did.  Has anyone seen the Dave Chappelle episode mocking Kinko's?? It is dead on.  All I wanted were a few copies of the old resume.  Everyone that works there consistently looks like it's the worst day of their life. And it probably is.

As a former employee of the Capitol Hill Kinko's I can tell you that I approached every customer with professionality, patience, and the benefit of the doubt.  Most customers were likewise professional and made the job actually quite enjoyable at times.  However, and if you've been to a Kinko's, you've probably seen that customer that freaks out and becomes abusive (most commonly in my opinion because they're up against a deadline, or they're just rude to begin with).  Now try keeping your poise and professionality when you've got to deal with these people several times a day.  Try staying calm and professional when your employer keeps cutting back on employee profit-sharing, which I might add is like reaching for something that you can see but never touch.  Try staying perkyl when you have minimal, timed breaks that are just long enough to have a cigarette, and lunches that are just long enough to run to the store and run back.  try keeping your composure when instead of taking orders by handwriting and notes like Kinko's has done for years, you now are forced to do time-wasting data entry on a poorly designed computer system that is meant more for data collection for research purposes than actual order facilitation.  There.  Now you know why Kinko's employees are so stressed so just try to be patient with them, nice to them, and don't get all worked up if you don't get perky service.  The work load on your average employee at a busy store was incredible before, but now FedEx bought the company and said, "I think we'd like you to also be friendly, professional shipping specialists!" But if you do have a real problem that you think needs to be addressed, go to the store manager first, most of them are good people; if they aren't, or just don't care, definitely go to the regional manager.  They generally are very good about addressing problems and they usually will try and do something about it.  So don't walk in expecting a butler in an apron, walk in prepared to deal with some potentially very stressed out people that, for the most part, want to do your job well, quick, and enjoy their day while they're at it.  And there are the total jerks that should have been fired long ago, try being nice to them too and see what happens.
