At Tina C.'s recommendation, I tried this restaurant and am happy I did so.  The ingredient quality was very high and I thoroughly enjoyed every dish I had (particularly the seafood ones).  The only drawback is there was not much variety.

I will definitely be back.

Situated next to the late, awesome dim sum place, Nice Restaurant (due to workers' union lawsuits), King's should be not be considered to be a replacement. Facing stiff competition with 88 Palace (prices) and Golden Unicorn (decor) along East Broadway, third place is a shoe-in. However, that is not an indication of inferior quality as the dim sum variety, flavors, and presentation all hold their own.

King's rice noodle rolls are ordered and prepared at the pan-fry station and kitchen, and delivered to the table freshly made and tasty. They range from styles such as vegetarian, dried shrimp and scallion, and plain. The duck feet (personal preference) are lathered with oyster sauce and very jaw-friendly. All other choices are certainly palatable if not memorable, but the service quality certainly adds an extra star to it.

However, despite the quality of the dim sum, one cannot ignore a 40% price difference with comparable quality of food right down the block (at 88 Palace). Nor can we ignore the cleaner table clothes and decor at Golden Unicorn across the street. The final nail in the coffin will be the next reincarnation of Nice Restaurant (coming real soon) to pull away the remaining customers...

A Dim Sum delight located on East Broadway which is easily accessible via the F line.  Located on the second floor, King's Seafood is cleaner and nicer with the decor and atmosphere.  The waiting area for a table is not a good spot by the stairway.  There is an elevator for patrons who are unable to take the stairs.  The table cloths are in desperate need of a make-over as there were holes and old food stains.

The food is good as well as the service of Cantonese hospitality of the women who pushes the cart.  Our Cantonese class were practicing our oral Canto speaking skills which the women pushing the carts were impressed with our efforts, which made service was friendly and attentive.  The Guk1 Faa1 Caa4 were served with sugar which makes it fragrant during our meal.

Pretty solid dim sum, if a little on the greasy side.  Seven of us ate to near exploding for about $12 a piece, tax and tip.  They did skip over us with some of the more exotic carts because we didn't have an asian face among us, but that's typical.  Good times.

Maybe it's just my repulsive face, but the waitresses here didn't seem interested in coming to my table at all. There was a huge group of about 10 of us - surely they must have done the math beforehand and come up with a hefty sum. Why, then, did they not attend to us? Walking up to carts and picking things off them is not my idea of a dimsum restaurant, and being told 3 times in a row (by different people) that what I wanted was out, despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, equals BAD.

But I'll give the place props for putting up with us for so long (we were there for over 2 hours), and for the pretty decent food (even though we had to fetch it ourselves).

Minus half a star for the big sigh of relief I swear the supervising waitress heaved when we got up to leave. At least save your sighs till AFTER your patrons leave, lady!

This was a pretty decent dimsum. This is on the second floor, I haven't figured out if there's a way around it.  Crowded main room with a dimsum grilling deck, and a side room where we were seated had less fresh carts, but you could always walk around and grab things off the fresher carts in the main room or get the grill items.

Chicken's feet was good, but no black bean of note and curry-like sauce.  The ginger tripe was good, and the BBQ buns were normal.  Chinese vegetables looked a bit lame, but spinach dumplings were pretty good.  Overall, solid dimsum place, although the speed of service could be improved in the side room.
