Like any other Asian grocer, this place is SUPER DUPER SMALL, and SUPER DUPER CRAMPED. If your just dropping by to pick up a few ingredients, this is the best place for it, other than that, do most of your Asian grocery shopping at some place big like 99 Ranch. You'll get trapped in the aisles if your pushing a cart. Truley a fire hazard, but the only thing most people are concerned about is getting ULAM(tagalog for main dish of a meal) for their families.

I had finally just moved out to Sunnyvale to be closer to my studies, so in order for my school  type of allowances (which is NOT very much these days) I decided to cook more than eat out. This place is literally a hop and a skip from where I live, so it's perfect. I do not like wasting gas to drive out to Milpitas or further just to go shopping, when gas prices are so high.

I, like many (I'm sure) can not stand shoulder-to-shoulder crowds when shopping; this place is simply perfect as a replacement for those type of scenes. The market is small like everyone says, but in reality it has all that I need. It also keeps me away from ALL the aisles of yummy snacks ...which is a good thing, because it's SO tempting!

The place has a meat and seafood counter, which is pretty selective and not too expensive. Of course the place has that "fishy" smell (especially when trapped towards that back), but that's what gives it more personality. The clerks are pretty friendly too, so it wraps up the experience into a positive.

Oh yea, the boxed  "Cutie" tangerines are a dollar cheaper than Trader Joes! Go figure!

Great place to bump elbows. Most of the time the butchers in the back don't understand what your asking for unless you try to speak with a accent then they have a little idea of what your requesting.

Sometimes when i go here with my parents I'm a little afraid of the butchery area because :
-It looks like they don't wash their hands or shower.
-Change their aprons that are covered in pork, beef and chicken blood (the best cross contamination Sunnyvale has to offer.
-The flies never leave that place no matter what weather.
-The display case is always smeared with crap.
-The floors are filthy.
-The scale they use to weight the meats never have a saran wrap lining to prevent cross contamination.

To the people that use wheelchairs this is a real bad place for you since the asiles are real cramped.

It's a very small Asian grocery store, but this place gets the job done whenever I don't feel like driving to Cupertino or Milpitas for 99 Ranch. The selection is limited since it's a small store, and the aisles can be cramped. They have a good selection of meats and seafood.

I do have to agree with G C. about the men behind the meat counter....they tend to be creepy and have wandering eyes. My high school Spanish doesn't do anything, but I wish I could understand what they're saying...lol

Good small Asian grocery store in the area.  It seemed clean to me, the food seemed fresh and the prices seemed low.

They also had a wonderful selection of Asian Jell-O products which made me very happy.

This is a much smaller Asian grocery store and for sure not the cleanest compared to a Ranch 99/Seafood City/HanKook but they do have the basics.  Fresh fruits/vegetables and lots of meats and seafood at pretty decent prices.  It's a tight squeeze when trying to maneuver a shopping cart around the aisles so best to stick with a basket or your own two hands.

One thing to note for the ladies is the men behind the counter where you get the meat and seafood are really creepy.  Even though my 4 years of spanish in high school probably wouldn't help me understand what they are saying behind their breath, I know they're somehow saying something nasty.  So either cover up or just not make any eye contact.

This is a hole in the wall Asian market which is jammed full of ingredients for a number of different Asian cuisines.  I'm partial to going and buying fresh, live crab -- in season, they often have live Dungeness crab for $1.99 to $2.99 per pound.   When crab is on sale, there's a banner over the front door that tells you the price.  If I'm looking to make crab, I'm inclined to do a drive-by, stopping in when I see the banner.

I get other Asian ingredients there -- last week they had a display with a bunch of different brands of coconut milk and coconut cream.  The number of different varieties of fish sauce is impressive as are the various types of soy sauce.  Price for seafood is good -- they also have their freezers stocked with prawns and shrimp of various sizes and other seafood.  The refrigerator case with  noodles and wonton wrappers is hiding off in a corner to the right and behind the seafood counter.

King's is located in a small shopping plaza near Katana Sushi and across the parking lot from American Diner at the corner of El Camino Real and Cezanne.  I didn't notice that they guys at the counter are especially creepy, but I'm more tolerant than most of my friends (and maybe more oblivious about that sort of thing.)
