It's really 3.5 stars.
Anyway, went here with Joe and I was really anticipating on the beef noodle soup.
I really liked their broth and beef. Beef was so juicy that it just melted right in my mouth.
The broth was just perfect too.
The wide noodles were above average, b/c we assumed they probably make it in the back, fresh. But I had better tasting noodles. (Or like Joe said, perhaps I wasn't used to it...)
I wouldn't mind coming back, but I would definitely get something different.
And yes, cash only.

Sometimes you just gotta eat noodles that aren't for sissies.  When that time comes, King's Noodle can rock your world.  These folks aren't afraid to lay on the five spice and they put some dough into their mein.  Side dishes like tendon, the various veggie snacks and those tea eggs fill out the table nicely when you're sitting with family and friends.  Their rice dishes are good too.

In the where to eat a quick bite battle with the Cantonese wife and the hybrid son (I'm a white boy) that seems to run best on Pho, I seldom win a battle in the where-to-noodle war, but when I win, I prolly opt for King's Noodle about every 2-3 months.

For you non-Asian experimental types, the staff here are wonderful, they speak great English and they're very helpful.  This place is pretty good for authenticity and after a few visits you'll know how and what to order.

Eating here took me back to Taiwan. I got the signature dish, beef noodle soup. The noodles were perfectly chewy and fresh tasting, plenty of fresh baby bok choy, carrots, and green onions. They give you a ton of meat and it's all very tender, though some pieces are a bit fatty, it's so tasty. the broth is flavorful, but not overly salty or greasy. I like to dump the entire dish of pickles in my soup..so delicious! I can't wait to go back here!
I aslo enjoyed the green bean (mung bean) sugar water. Really refreshing

Noodles here are very thick and chewy.  Quiet atmosphere when you walk in.  Go all the way back to the counter and order.  They take only cash.

They serve both soup and dry noodles.  I got dry noodles both times, which was a little bit greasy.  The prices are very cheap.  (Average $4-6 for a bowl of noodles.)  They also have shaved ice, tapioca drinks, and some other Taiwanese rice dishes. :)

The noodles here are a little different.  They are chewier and a bit bigger, I really liked them.  The menu is similar to other noodle shops.  The meat is fattier like most of these places, I just have a harder time eating it as I prefer my meat very lean.  I thought the soup was more flavorful then I'm used to.  They only take cash.

When you walk in there is a large hanging sign with 'order here' written on it, like they get a lot of people that can't figure it out.  I asked one customer what he recommended, the beef soup, but wondered if I could handle it because it was authentic.  They don't seem to have a high opinion of americans.  (^_^)  It's a great place to eat lunch, at $5.14 with tax I could hardly complain.  Stop by Aji Ichiban at the end of the strip mall and pick up a snack on your way back to the office.

Noodles do matter.  While other noodle shops use plain noodles whose main purpose is just to fill you up, here the noodle itself is something special.  The noodles are thick and chewy ("al dente"), as if this restaurant makes their own noodles or have a special supplier.  It really makes a difference.

The Taiwanese menu is very familiar, with all the usual noodle soups, cold dishes, and desserts.  It's already a crowded area for noodle shops, but this one is a welcome addition.
