His 5 stars from everyone is well deserved. Took out the virus from my laptop(had to reboot, no choice), data recovery, and best of all, he saved all the playlists on my itunes, 3000+ songs!! Laptop is better and faster than before. This guy is a genius! Can fix anything. Very nice and honest. Very reasonable prices. Thank you , Max.

Know that commercial for online data backup, the one where an older woman testifies: "I accidentally deleted all of my personal files!" ? Whenever I'd see it I'd laugh at the stupidity of whoever came up with that retarded commercial. That is, until in a moment of sheer brilliance, I accidentally deleted a crap-ton of my personal files that I hadn't backed up yet. I cringed as the over-exaggerated problems of that woman in the commercial had become my own.
I tried several freeware data recovery programs that I found online, but it was no use; my external hard drive was totally unfixable. Or so I thought. It turns out that these seemingly inflated reviews for KCRC are nothing short of accurate. Max is indeed a personal savior of sorts, and after a few short days I had 98% of my data back in my possession. I cried a bit inside at the insanity of how much my three-second blunder cost me in the end, but from what I hear, I paid far less than customers at other data recovery places.
So if you are ever stupid enough to impatiently disconnect your external hard drive without ejecting it first (not that that's what I did or anything...) Max is your go-to data recovery guy. -

Being in audio production, a hard drive failure is our worse nightmare. A quick search on yelp revealed this little gem. I knew that the bigger data recovery services would rip anyone off, so I figured this is worth a shot.
Good decision.
Max, the owner, knows his stuff and will try to be fair on the price. He recovered all my data and within a week, the data was up and running again on a shiny new drive.
Very friendly and helpful, he's the yoda of computers. ;)
Thanks Max! -

My MacBook's space bar and some other keys died on me. After putting off getting them fixed, I came upon this place on the way to work. Pleasantly surprised to see so many amazing reviews of Kingly's in Yelp, i called in, and was told (by Max) that inspection is free, and for me to bring the computer in. He sounded like he works real efficiently and fast, a claim he backed up easily!
My entire keyboard was shot, and with luck he had a spare used one in the shop, which works perfectly. That saved me some money. Shortly after we found out my hard drive was close to crashing, since it was showing the symptoms. He told me to get it at Best buy, and not Apple, which model to get, and that it was on sale. The day after i brought it in during lunch hour, and by 5 pm everything was completed. What a fast miracle worker!
The fact that he honestly told me my options, recommended me where to get parts the cheapest, and was looking out for my interest and wallet, really impressed me. He is not out to cheat you, or make a large profit margin. He genuinely wants to fix your computers and do it at the most reasonable cost everyone can be happy with.
He'd be my computer guy for as long as he is around. And once you have him take care of your computer issues, he'd be yours forever too! Trust. -

Max is extremely helpful and friendly. He definitely knows his computers, more so, than some other computer repair places I have been. He has a work area with some special set ups so he can do some repairs in house that other places would need to send out.
I am pretty good with computers, but when I had a 1 TB drive die from over voltage, I knew the fix was going to be beyond my skills; he was able to do a data recovery by fixing the board on the drive. His prices were extremely reasonable, more so than most data recovery services, and his turn around was quick.
Would definitely recommend to anyone. Most importantly, he is reliable and honest and not out to cheat you. Best in the area. -

Holy-moly! Max's prices are FAR less than anywhere else i got a quote from. I had a Raid that stopped working with 6 TB of information. 6TB is a TON of information btw. It was going to cost nearly 10 grand for a rush job at any of the other data recovery places in LA. Max's upper estimate was 1/3rd of that.
I am SOOOOOOO glad i found this guy. Now i know where to go whenever my computer gets a boo boo. -

I'm glad to add my voice to the chorus here. There is no question that Max, the owner and chief technician at Kingly Computer, knows his stuff cold and always adds value at a fair price.
We brought in an old Mac G4 with a burned out screen. Max rebuilt it from parts for way less than we would have thought possible. Later, our newer Macbook crashed, with the dreaded message "Cannot rebuild hard drive" appearing every time we tried to boot. Max was fast and reliable and swapped out the hard drive in no time, at a great price.
I can't recommend Max strongly enough. His skill and integrity earned our confidence -- he is definitely our "computer guy" now. -
Review from Jaclyn S.
Have you ever been to a computer repair place or met a computer repair guy who would take your entire laptop carefully apart to examine the problem while you watched? I hadn't, until I met Max.
When the A/C jack on my laptop stopped working I thought I would need a new one and was worried it would cost an arm and a leg. Or worse yet, that I would have to replace the entire motherboard if the jack was soldered to it, in which case I might as well buy a new laptop.
Max had original Dell jacks on hand to replace the jack if necessary but was able to determine that the problem was a loose wire and actually fix it. He also used some kind of vacuum box to suck every last particle of dust out of my computer, without having to use compressed air which eventually corrodes the insides of your laptop.
If you want to take your laptop to a guy who will explain what he is doing and why, treats your computer with the same care he would give his own property, uses only high quality parts, and charges an absolutely reasonable rate, you've found your man.
Thanks so much, Max! I'll be back, but hopefully not too soon! -

Max is AMAZING!!! I was heartbroken when I dropped my Macbook and opened it to find colorful lines obscuring the entire screen. I combed through Yelp and ended up choosing Kingly Computer Repair because of the reoccurring mentions of reasonable prices in everyone's reviews. I'm a broke student who doesn't know the first thing about computer repair, and my biggest fear was ending up with a technician who'd take advantage of that and try to rip me off.
Luckily, Max is anything but that technician. He was absurdly nice and patient, and he made sure to explain everything he planned to do before he charged me anything. He offered plenty of options that were best suited to my situation (since my computer is old and on its way out, he didn't want me to pay too much for a fancy LCD screen). He gave me a clear quote (which was EXTREMELY reasonable... much more affordable than anything else I found online) after doing a quick assessment of the problem and even cleaned up some liquid damage for free. He said it would take up to 5 days because he had to order the screen, but I picked it up two days later! My laptop is now good as new, and I couldn't be happier.
Please go to Max for all your computer problems... I guarantee you won't be disappointed with the results. -

At first I was a little suspicious of all the rave reviews, given that some had only written 2 reviews and had 1 friend, but I visited Kingly Computer based on the reviews and am confirming that Max, the repair technician is really nice, efficient and repaired my computer for the fraction of the cost that others' were quoting.
Basically, I had a malfunctioning space bar on my Sony Vaio, and Max was able to repair it for a fraction of what Sony quoted ($199 parts/labor +30 shipping), or what Staples quoted ($100 plus $70 in labor). Everyone else was saying that I needed an altogether new keyboard, but Max isolated the problem and fixed it, saving me time and money.
Also, if anyone's interested, while you wait, there's a little salon called Styles, in the same strip mall that does eyebrow threading! -

Max is great. He fixed my Vaio in no time and was very patient in explaining how I can maintain my computer. He fixed the DC Jack with good, sturdy parts and it was affordable. I really appreciate the customer service, the work ethic and the location! I would totally take my computer back to him.

Just like everybody says, Max was fantastic.
You just bring your computer right on in and he will fix it all for you. He will go BEYOND THE MINIMUM and do whatever he can possibly do for you. This is not a money-making job for him, it is something he is just very good at.
I do not understand why anyone would go anywhere else with their computer needs.
Thanks max:) -

If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. Max is amazing. I called, drove down there and got in immediately. Within a matter of seconds he diagnosed my laptop problem free of charge and offered suggestions to fix it. He went the extra mile, covered all bases and saved me a lot of money as I thought my laptop problem was far worse. I will definitely come back if i ever have a laptop issue again and will recommend my friends and family go here for similar issues. Thanks Max!

Thank you fellow Yelpers for helping me find Kingly Computer. My keyboard malfunctioned after I wiped it down with some paper towels and too much water (stupid idea in the first place) and some water must have seeped through the keyboard because all the keys were not functioning: some kept on repeating, others wouldn't even work at all. I had a bunch of Excel and Word documents that I was working on for my job and I started freaking out. I tried restarting my computer and it didn't work. I couldn't even get pass the "password screen" because some of the letters weren't even working.
So I yelp "computer repair" near 90036 and Kingly Computer pops up with these RAVE reviews. I read every single review to make sure this place matches my current issue and decided to call. Max picks up the phone, I explain to him my problem and he tells me to bring my computer down. I called him at 5:30pm on a Saturday and they close at 6:00pm and Max told me that he would wait for me. I thought that was super cool.
When I get there two people are waiting for their computer to be fixed. (Wow, I thought, this guy has good business). Plus, when I look on his wall I see a picture of him and [insert Oscar winning director]. Wow, if [insert Oscar winning director] came to this guy, he definitely must do good work.
When it was my turn Max asked me what happened and took my computer to the back. He came back about 15 minutes later and told me that he could replace the keyboard with a brand new keyboard from the same manufacturer (Acer). Another 30 minutes pass by and Max reappears with a new keyboard and he gives it to me and tells me to test it out. I turn on my computer and everything works fine. He told me that something probably went below the keys and affected the board underneath and that's why the old keyboard wasn't working. In addition, he cleaned my computer and the screen of all the dust and it looked brand new.
I would definitely give more than 5 stars to this place if I could. Service was beyond great, Max was really nice, explained things well, gave great advice on how to maintain your computer, offered to stay after working hours to work on my computer and his prices were reasonable.
Please look at his other reviews. Kingly Computer is the BEST place I've found on Yelp along with Ricky's Fish Tacos :)
Thank you Max, you are a lifesaver!!!! -

OMG I am so thankful that I found Max and Kingly Computer Repair!!! I first took my Dell laptop to Max back in 2008 and have been a faithful customer since that time. I'm now on my 2nd Dell and have been through 1 drop and 2 major viruses and he's been able to recover all my data and fix my laptop every time. In this day and age, it's extremely scary to hand over your personal computer to anyone that you don't completely trust. Max is very professional, highly ethical and extremely knowledgable. He's not in this business to make buck, he loves what he does and takes great pride in his work. His prices are very reasonable, they may seem a bit high at first, but he always goes above and beyond in terms of his service. Also, he's been kind enough to load anti-virus software for me for free and always formats my computer beautifully so it runs super fast . Additionally, he always spends a lot of time explaining the problem and then teaching me how to properly care for my computer so I don't have to come see him again for a long time. Give Max a try, he's good guy and you really don't what or who you are going get when you go to Geek Squad.

Max did a great job! He took time to explain what he was doing and gave really good advice on how to prevent things. My computer had to be wiped clean because of a virus, and he reinstalled everything as it was, including all my important documents, and now my computer feels brand new and nothing weird. All my programs are there, and he even installed some other things (with my consent) to make my computer run faster and be cleaner. I highly recommend him -- his expertise is apparent when speaking with him. I was skeptical about who to go to because there are so many independent computer repair businesses (I was going to use Geek Squad at first), but I'm glad I chose him. A+ service, he is fast, efficient and really friendly. Thank you!!

Max came to our office in a few hours of my phone call. He knew exactly what I needed to buy to replace an old access point. He figured out the old fashion configeration of our small network and fixed our problem and set up my new computer in 2 hours! Very nice guy.
