Just had a FANTASTIC job done with guidance as to what shade to choose. Went with the profile the owner has on his own car. My 2010 Nissan Sentra has absolutely changed 100% in appeal and saves my eyes now from the overpowered headlights that used to blind me. The price was GREAT and time estimate almost to the minute, only early! I was dropped off and picked up from a local establishment by Tanforan. 5-Star Service!

So I just got a spankin' new NISMO and was on the lookout for a trustworthy quality tint shop. I Google'd the net and read many Yelp reviews before I chose King Tint.
What helped sell me was that in the photos... there were no teenagers in doing the tint-work, there weren't 50 cars crammed into a tiny garage, and there were some quality cars (not just beaters) getting tint work.
King Tint is a small shop... a "hidden-treasure". Douglas only takes on enough business that he can personally handle as he's definitely focused on the quality of the work. I am extremely pleased with the tint job and will soon be coming back for a clear bra.
I highly recommend you give Douglas a call if you love your car and wanna shield it (and yourself) from the summer sun. -

They do great work here. I got my 2011 WRX tinted almost immediately after I bought it since I hate the heat my black leather interior soaks up in the summer. It took about 3 hours, and the price was competitive with other shops, and I just watched a movie while it was getting done. It came out great, and has been on the car for ~10 months.
I also went back here to get some vinyl overlays put on my taillights, and they turned out great, too! This was after having a negative experience with another shop that wasted 3 hours of my time before failing to put the overlays on and saying it was because it was some vinyl I got off the internet that couldn't be worked with. I got lazy and thought it would be an easy job, so went with the shop closest to my house instead of King Tint, which I know does quality work. I'll be coming back here for tint as long as I live in the area. -

I'd give them 5 stars for their work, but they stood me up, twice.
I had my windows tinted here like a year ago, they were done pretty well, and about 3 months ago, I had to get my front tints pulled off.
I made an appointment about 5 days in advance to get my tints taken off. When I got there, the shop wasn't open and I called both numbers listed on the banner outside. No response. Uh, okay, how rude! So he calls me a few days later to apologize and explains that something had happened in his family. So I booked an appointment for the following week.
The next week, I got there, and no one was there. You'd expect a business man to get there early when he knows a customer is coming. He got there at like exactly 11am. (Yeah I know, maybe I'm just being bitchy...) I got my tints taken off, and it only took about 30 minutes. I asked if they took credit cards and he told me his credit card machine was BROKEN, how convenient!.... So I drove to an ATM, came back, and gave him the money. I booked an appointment for the following Friday to get my tints put back on.
I get there on a Friday morning, and I see that the shop isn't open. I'm waiting for 20 minutes and I finally decide to call. He answers and tells me he's on his way and that I should wait for 15 minutes... Uh, okay. So I waited 20 minutes, and another man came, saying he is waiting for him also. So I just decided to leave. About 6 hours later he calls me and apologizes to tell me that he got into a car accident. Yeahhhh, not interested.
Maybe he doesn't come to work much anymore because no one is getting their tints done. Oh well. He could've made some money off me. -

Great place cool guy. He dropped my daughter and i off at the mall while he did the work. excellent job was on time and gave us every thing promised would refer friends to him hands down. 150 for 3 windows what a deal.

Like everyone else, I found this place through yelp. Thanks yelpers; your review were on point. Douglas was very helpful in adding smoke overlays to my A4's tail lights. He stayed open after hours just to accommodate me. Ive been back since then and had more work done. Check out King Tints detailing service, you will not be disappointed. Thanks Douglas I will definitely be back to get my car detailed again.

Deng, Douglas does EVERYTHING. While he was tinting my friend's windows, we were talking to him about how long he has done tinting and etc. Douglas does everything from body kits to tinting to even car graphics, believe it or not (just ask him about it). He was even teaching us some tricks to doing the tint.
Douglas is very down to Earth. He's a really friendly and great guy. All of his work is very professional. He is very helpful and all of the prices of tint are cheap. In fact, his work is probably the cheapest you'll find in the bay area and also the best. All of his tints come out flawless. It is also easy to find an appointment with him for tinting.
My friend and I went in to Mach III to ask for an appointment for tinting, but they told us that they didn't have any time for 2 weeks. Ridiculous. Then I recommended him King Tint because all of the great reviews on Yelp. We drove to San Bruno not knowing where it was located. We called him up and he happily gave us directions to the shop. Then when we got there, he had time to do my friend's car on the spot. When he was done, my friend and I were amazed. Why? Because the work was so well done and the price came out to be only $170 for 5 windows (this was on a 2dr accord).
I am definitely recommending him to all of my other friends and I am also going back there to get blue tint on my civic. (and maybe some graphics =D) -

I had the tint on my car for about 45 days now and it's still holding up good. The work is good as he removes the door panels and everything to get it as low as possible A+. He stayed open after hours just to finish my car which is good but also bad because u can't see the workmanship until morning time.
I did come in to two issues. My rear dash has speakers and both speakers are about 10 years old with plenty of sun damage but they both worked and had no cracking sound issues. The next morning i turn on my stereo and my rear speakers are making cracking sounds. I look at them and notice that both speakers where removed and where not even reinstalled with the screws. The paper part on both the speakers where damaged.
I'm a little upset but not mad as i wanted to replace them soon.
Since the job was done at night inside his shop he didn't roll up my front window all the way up (98% out of 100). So when i fully roll it up you can see a tiny tiny section that was missed. Oh well
$210 with tax for all three back windows and one drivers side window
Would i go back maybe but i would make sure to do the prep work myself like removing the door panels to save time and maybe some money.
Am i happy with my tint? Yes kinda of but more in a good way B- -

Douglas will take care of you and also work till the sun comes up! I tinted my car not too long ago and my availability was only after 5pm because of work. He told me no problem and I brought my car in at 5:30, dropped it off, came back at 10:30. I didn't complain at all and wanted him to take his time. He worked on it by himself and I also tipped him I mean come on 5 hours of labor and he gave me a excellent price too because this was the second time getting tint done from him.
No other tint shop will do that for you. Most tint shops close at the time he started to tint my car and Douglas goes by your availability. Go with the 3M tint. It's lifetime warranty and if something ever happens you can go to any 3M authorized dealer, not just King Tint.
I always recommend my friends and anyone who needs tint here. -

I'm reviewing the detail portion of King Tint.
For the price that is paid on a detailed job there should be more attention to your work. After a day or two later i noticed wax that was never removed from the car on the roof and around side mirrors. Also the bumper and roof rails that have black plastic have white streaks that are hard to remove now since its embedded into the plastic. Knowing that plastic does not go well with wax, no effort was made to separate the two during the waxing of the car. I could have gotten a better detail job at a car wash for 1\3 the price....My advice would be to stick at what you do best is tint windows...stay far away from the detail service
Pay with Credit card.... gives you a price and then adds $5 when he swipes your card and does not say anything..very unprofessional -

I brought my car here a while back at the old location after getting a great detail job by Phil at ADS.
I can't say many negative things about the work, which was decent. I can't say it was the best price though. My real problems stem from the lack of organization by the owner. He double booked me with someone else, which not only delayed my car from being worked on, but showed that either a) he didn't have faith in me coming back, or b) he just isn't dedicated to his customers. There were no apologies or offers to get my car done quickly and efficiently. I wasn't even offered a loaner car. And to top that off, he left the interior of my car FILTHY!
To be honest, I only went there because I was so impressed by the detail work by Phil at ADS. I would not recommend anyone taking their business there. -

We set up an appointment for two cars, one coupe and one wagon on Monday morning. Douglas was quick in responding to my question and said to bring it by first thing Monday.
When we got there, Douglas was friendly and did not pressure us into something we weren't comfortable with. After all, dropping a signficant investment in window tinting is something we don't do everyday. Douglas showed us the different options with metallic and non-metallic tints and it's many shades. We choose 20% all around on the coupe and 35% in the front and 20% all around with the wagon. He said it would take about 6 hours from the time we drop off the car (3 hours per car) and promised to give us a call when it was ready. His assistant, Hector dropped us off at the local mall.
Fast forward to 6 hours later and I got a bit impatient and decided to give him a call. Douglas picked up and said the cars were ready in a about 10 mins. Hector picked us up in the coupe and we were both shocked at the work they both did.
When he brought us back to the shop, we saw both cars and it was simply amazing. Douglas and Hector did a magnificent job and it clearly shows. There are a few air bubbles in the car now, but they promised it will disappear in a few days. The tints look great and Douglas and Hector have awesomeness skills in this field. The price was very reasonable for the quality and the time he puts into it.
Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a tint around San Bruno area. Thank you Douglas and HectorListed in: The L33t List

Based on the numerous positive reviews, I decided to take my car in to King Tint about a year ago. The first time I drove by, Douglas wasn't actually there which left me a bit disappointed and uneasy. The second time, I called and made an appointment to bring my car in. It's a small garage that I noticed was kept pretty clean and organized, which was important for me to see considering I was about to dish out 200+ bucks for his service. Douglas was very friendly and didn't make me feel rushed at all when I was selecting the tint levels. He showed me his own car which had 20% tints on it so I can better gauge the darkness level.
Tinting all 5 windows took little less than 3 hours, and when I came back, the car looked beautiful. There wasn't a single spot on my front+rear windows that wasn't covered. No air bubbles or imperfections. The water spots between tint and window will dry out after a few days and disappear. It looks like an air bubble at first, but it's actually not. So don't worry about it.
It's been almost a year now, and my tints are still looking great. My friend complimented them the other day, saying whoever tinted my car did a great job. For those enthusiasts out there, Douglas also carries 3M tints, which are higher-quality and a bit more expensive. I didn't get those, but it's nice to know you have an option. Also, be forewarned if you decide to tint your front windows because it is *illegal* in California. I already got ticketed once while my car was parked in a park n' ride lot (ridiculous) and pulled over once on the entrance ramp to 101.Listed in: Peninsula Goodies

I went to this place based solely on the yelp reviews here and the location. I'm very happy with the results of my tint.
I have an Acura TL and I tinted the back half of my car which is 5 pieces of glass. I did a 3M CS tint at 35%. Douglass was really accommodating with the timing. I initially scheduled for later in the day but he was able to fit me in. He's really easy to talk to on the phone and was super patient with me as I called back at least 5 times to ask a variety of questions.
I got a great quote for the tint and the installation of moleskin inside the windows as well. He did an excellent job and the bubbles are gone already. He personally guarantees his own work so if there are any problems, I know that I can trust him to fix it.
The only caveat is that this place is a little hard to find since the streets become a little confusing. I didn't properly map it before I left. I'll recommend Douglass for all of my friends in the future. -

Douglas did a tint removal on the back window of my STI. He did a superb job whilst I waited in his waiting room (complete with comfy couch,TV and internet).
Two issues: he made an error on the time of the appointment and double-booked. To be fair, once he got to my car he did the job very quickly, so it didn't take much longer than I was expecting. Also, he said at the end that doesn't take credit cards and I had to pay an outrageous 10% surcharge for the detailing guy he shares the space with to run the charge through his machine. Would have been nice to have known about this AHEAD of time.
One thing: he says he's moving soon, so call him first to make sure the address hasn't changed. -

He does great work, and is also VERY punctual about it. I arrived at the time he said it would be done, and I didn't have to wait a minute after. I've had the tint on for about 3 months now, and I'm very pleased. I might even go darker in the front, and if I do decide to do that, I'm coming here. Their website is a little off, but his work is superb. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking to get their windows tinted by someone who knows what their doing, and is pretty reasonable in pricing.

I found King Tint accidently trying to find the best referred auto window tinting facility in the Bay Area. I only found three websites and King Tint happened to be one of them. Here, I was able to see samples of Douglas' work and the different vehicles he has done service to. His clients ranged from your Honda owner to luxury cars like Mercedes and exotic cars like Ferrari. This gave me a good sense of his clientele and the trust they gave Douglas to work on their cars. Futhermore, I shopped around and found prices ranging from $200 to $400 for 5 to 7 windows. His price seemed competitive and fair compared to others. Douglas carries SunTek and 3M window tinting product lines. His motto is "the best for less" and trust that his skilled workmanship will get him more business via word-of-mouth.
I had Douglas work on my 2007 Subaru Legacy Station Wagon. He completed the job within 3 hours. I waited while my car was being serviced in their waiting room that has DSL access, TV, Playstation and tons of FHM magazines. ;) -

Awesome!! I have a 2009 Mini Clubman and Douglas did a 3M tint as well as the 3M clear bra protection. I brought my car to him on a Friday at about 4:30pm and Douglas worked on it w/ his team until 11:30pm. I had the chance to pick up the car that Friday night but opted to pick it up Saturday morning.
Fantastic job! Before I left, he informed me of everything I needed to know for care and protection and also gave me the warranty cards. He said that if I have any problems, I would be able to contact him. I found out about King Tint from Yelp and I am so grateful because I found a great deal! Thanks everyone! -

I was happy with the end result of the 3M tinting on my brand new Monte Carlo. Douglas was very nice and also informative. Also received a nice car detailing from Phil.
Drawback** Douglas has a young guy doing most the prep work. He banged my car door against a metal tool shed thing. NOT good considering i've only had this car for 3 days and it is brand new!! Douglas quickly wrapped the car door in a protective layer and scolded the kid.
There was also liquid drips all over the interior of the car. This was left from the liquid they spray on the window (not exactly sure what this spray is). It was not cleaned or wiped away, instead dried into the vinyl. These are small issues but could have been avoided.
Overall, I was happy with the way my car looked so I overlooked these minor screw ups. -

I found this place while searching on Yelp, and as with all of the other reviews I was very pleased.
I spoke with Douglas over the phone who was actually in the middle of a big job. He was kind enough to squeeze me in with my fresh purchased 09 Civic. I was able to drop off the car and pick it up later in the evening that same day!
I am really happy with the results and I will definately recommend it to anyone looking for a high quality tint job. Douglas also warranties his work, though I doubt you will ever need it. I don't see King Tint closing shop any time soon.

I took my car here after reading all the great reviews. I have to say that I'm not disappointed at all. Douglas is a very nice man and is detailed in explaining the process of what he does to your windows. His shop is small and he does all the work himself which is great because there's only one person to complain to if you need to talk about a problem. The price he gave me was fair and I chose the 3M tint which can be serviced for free at any 3M retailer. Douglas guarantees his work as long as you own your car. I would've given it 5 stars but I had to go back once to get some bubbles out of my window but I highly recommend it!

I took my car to King Tint after driving it to NY and back to CA, with my DOG!!! So, the main issue was hair everywhere! Needless to say, they had my car done the next day and there is no more pet hair. My car hadn't looked so clean since I bought it (new in 2006). Thanks King Tint!!!!
-They also cleaned my engine, and put the extra license plate holder on the front (I had been procrastinating putting it on for an entire year).

The reviews above must be from Douglas close relatives and friends. I have been given the run around for three months to have an install gone bad remove. The customer service and honor to warranty work sucks!! If you notice all of the comments where from initial install process where he takes your money. (NOW) Here is the catch, since you've paid for your install, but now there is an issue or redo that's needed. Call King Tint and sit back to watch the games begin. Why tell the consumer a warranty date but you hate to warranty and deal with a redo where no new cash is exposed. This is when you delete your cool post to leave the uncovered truth. PLEASE AVOID THIS SHOP AT ALL COST.. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!! PROCESS: QUICK MONEY GRAB.. TURN BACK ON ISSUES OR CONCERNS.. Everyone has experienced this at some point. Well, this is that point if you have not! LOL

Douglas did an excellent job on my Honda. I made an appointment and we started on time. He finished in 3hrs (which I'm glad because rush jobs never turn out good). I took his loaner and hung out at starbucks to kill the time. The shop is in a warehouse type area of San Bruno. Bring a friend so you can go do something while your car gets tinted. The tint was well done, no issues at all. There were a few bubbles on the first day but by day 3, all were gone. Thanks for the excellent job.

What can I say...... Douglas IS " The Man". I took in my G37S in for a tint. Wasn't sure how dark I wanted it. He recommended 20% all around. At the end the job was excellent... no complaints.. I was satisfied with his work. He is a cool guy and very friendly, gave me tips on how to keep my car clean, esp since my car is black. Have already recommended his work to some of my friends.

Came here on a Friday to get my tint done on my truck. Douglas matched the front windows very closely to the back windows which were already tinted for a great price. The only gripe I have is that the right window has a little hard bumpy looking thing but you can't notice it unless you really look for it. I will be bringing my Denali in to get the windows tinted too.

I found this place on Yelp after reading all the reviews. I called Douglas and made an appointment for my Accord coupe. When I showed up he was ready. He explained everything very cleary, the pros and cons of the materials. I chilled in the waiting area watching TV on my laptop while he worked and a few hours later he was done. The work was immaculate and I was happy with the price. When I get my 2nd car I'm bringing it back to Doug again.

Believe the good reviews. What should you expect to find here? Friendly service, knowledgeable staff, best materials (3M), and BEST price. If you're near the area (or not - they do house calls), this is the place to go to get your tinting done or fixed. They also do detailing, minor scratch repairs, etc. Check out their website. Douglas is friendly and very professional. I'll be recommending some friends to come here. I also posted some pictures from my experience here.

I can't say enough about this place. Douglas is so wonderful to work with. He explained everything clearly and is very personable. My car looks great and the tint was immaculate. I came to him with a tint job gone wrong and he replaced and fixed everything. His prices aren't high when you consider how awful bad tint can be, trust me. Douglas will give you a ride to bart if needed and always treats you like a friend. Take the drive to San Bruno, it's worth it!!

I was looking for a good tint place near San Bruno & went to a few different places before deciding on King Tint. The owner Douglas made a deal with me & my boyfriend if we brought both of our cars in at the same time. He gave us a price of $400.00, which I thought was fair considering the other 2 places quoted me $280 for my car alone! He even said to bring the car in at our convience. We took it in at 3:30 & he completed everything a few hours later. It looks GREAT! I would definatley recommend this place! Nice people & reasonable prices.

Friendly, timely, no-hassle service and my tinted windows look fantastic! The website is a little rough around the edges and the place feels like a half-finished house, but you know what? The results speak for themsevles. I really wish I had my windows tinted sooner, but I'm glad I had them done at King Tint. If you are thinking about tinting your windows, go here now.

I'm new to SF, so I went to King Tint based on the Yelp reviews. I was very pleased with the quality of the job and the price - it's obvious they stand by their work.
I was surprised they didn't take credit cards, since I don't usually walk around with multiples of $200 in cash, however, they assured me their credit card machine was on it's way by showing me the paperwork they've submitted to the credit card company. They then let me leave w/o paying to grab some cash from my bank - so I'm certainly not going to dock any stars for that kind of trust.
The location was a little bit confusing, but that's the San Bruno city planners' faults... -

ABOVE AND BEYOND!!!
These guys not only did a fantastic job in an incredibly short amount of time, but they went above and beyond to make this birthday surprise possible. They turned around the tinting in one day on my husband's Volkswagen Eurovan (a HUGE job). The work was of absolute highest quality and they even delivered the car to my house when it was finished at 9:30PM at night just because Douglas had told me he'd have it back to me that same day (even though I told him it was okay to wait until morning). Amazing! They gave me a ride to the BART and even offered to take me all the way home when I dropped the car off. King Tint is one of those rare businesses that somehow manages to do the highest quality of work, with a smile and give the best price as well. This is a true recommendation and 5 star rating from a very demanding customer.
