I only watch King 5 for one reason: Jesse Jones!
He IS the man, he has capitalized on the "By Mennen" effect, explained in depth on a classic episode of "Seinfeld"
If you hear a phrase long enough, its sure to catch on. And i love how he ends with saying "Jesse Jones, King-5 News", exactly the same way every time. It really sticks. He used to be a field reporter, and I believe the fact that he has his own segment now is directly linked to him branding his own name.
Go Jesse Jones, King-5 News, you the man, man!!

I like news..i try to stay atop of things..so i get my info from king 5 usually....and the 4 reasons why...
1. jesse jones- u dont mess with jesse..and i like how he closes out his segment saying his name
2. lisa gangel- she needs to go national in sports..good at her job..and easy on the eyes
3. danger jim foreman...if there is a crisis..jim is around the corner...and his hair is something to be seen
4. carolyn douglas- good anchor...good banter when news is slow...hot as hell
i will stay with king 5 for those reasons -

I just read their weather page. That's why I am writing this review.
Personally I am happy to no longer clutter my life with a tv.
All I wanted to know is .. is there snow in the state?
I can't tell from their colorful interactive choppy weather page.
Another reviewer said, "well this is Seattle, they can't ever get weather right."
No kidding!
I am out of work. Can I have a weather man job? I don't need any skill.
Oh, look, the day will begin. Oh,my, it's a bit cold. Oh, it will warm up a bit and we will have snow or rain or both and some wind and a tiny clearing. Then more of all of it.

This is my fav news channel for reliable information in Seattle. The traffic is always right. I love Jeff the weather guy but do not plan on the weather man ever being right in seattle. They have great sportsmanship with our sports teams and local schools. They do need a newer female fresh face to replace Jean she's getting not so appreasing to look at, she looks sick. She is in charge of health link you would think she would look the best!!

KING 5 news is still the only local TV station in Seattle that keeps its ego more or less in check and seems to hold on to air staff f that are familier to those of us that hit the newscasts after work. Jeff Renner is kind of like listening to your wise old dad give you the weather forecast. The only weather forecaster in Seattle that can tell you about a devastating/pending storm and do it with a smile..
Jean is everyones nice aunt. Paul Silvi seems like a real nice guy with an infectious smile that you could sit and have beer with and just rap the issues. Dennis Bounds has a personality that makes him easy to look at and listen to. Mimi Jung is...hypnotic to watch. Lisa Gangel was like that crazy fun hot girlfriend you never had or could have had.. Too bad she left although you knew with that kind of an on-screen presence, she wasnt staying around long. By the way KING, great "last story from Lisa" on her final day. Lisa Gangel bouncing up and down on a trampoline. Fellas, it just doesnt get any better than that.. -

There's really nothing wrong with King 5 news, I've just never "connected" with the station. KIRO gets the breaking news faster and KOMO has old familar faces I know. It's a well rounded station, and these things can be subjective. Try it. You might like it.

King 5 used to be my favorite until I asked for a little help with a school assignment...all I needed was a photo of one of the anchors, and something with the logo on it. They basically kicked me out of the lobby and told me that the only person who could help me was going to be on vacation for a month. No love for the community! Plus the receptionist has tattooed eyeliner, creepy.
