I was totally expecting fun and games when I dropped into their beginner's acrobatic class. Boy was I wrong! Not only did I practice my tumbling, we also did some intense stretching and a strengthening workout. KT is the place to go for serious circus art and an intense workout. Expect to work hard and learn the basics.
KT is a little hard to find... the entrance is in a back alley that you can only get to if you go through the parking lot and follow it to the end.
The studio has a small room for tumbling, and then the larger area for aerial arts such as silks and trapeze. The have a unisex restroom, small office, and a "locker room" which can be used for changing and storing personal belongings. It's a simple room with a cubby... no lockers.
They offer classes in various circus arts, so if you're interested in tumbling, trapeze, silks, or anything else, KT is the place to go. Check out the website for pricing.

Kinetic theory Circus Arts effin rocks!!!! If Cirque Du Soleil or any other circus performance tanitilized your imagination and sparked your excitment then Kinetic Theory Circus Arts is your place to go!!! They offer a variety of classes (from toddlers to adults) ranging from Contortion to Trapeze to Tissue/Silk and Spanish Web (rope) to Strength Conditioning, and many more. All the instructors are either former or current professional performers, are completely supportive of your goals, and have all the knowledge and skills needed to set you on the right path.
Every now and again, Kinetic Theory even offers workshops hosted by professional circus performers from around the world for those serious about advancing their skill quickly. Whether you are at a begginning, intermediate or advanced level, or someone looking to shape-up in the most fun way possible this is you absolute last stop!!! I have been a student there for almost 8 months!!! My muscle tone is amazing, my flexibility is more fluid than when I was a child, I have learned many cool tricks and most of all met some of the nicest, funniest and creatively stunning people in all of L.A!!!!!!
The studio is a spacious, comfortable, and clean Loft in Culver City, and a great place to satisfy your urge for something different, new and fun!!!! Don't hesitate to call the owner, Stephanie. She is awesome and totally accomodating to any questions you might have.

History
Established in 2007
Kinetic Theory began in San Francisco as a solo project of founder/director Stephanie Abrams. Her goal was to express ideas on stage through the use of a movement based language comprised of mime & physical theatre, acrobatics & dance.
In 2000, she created Kinetic Theory Experimental Theatre, an ensemble group dedicated to creating innovative works through mime & movement. The company's first show, Stranger & Stranger, received public & critical acclaim at the 2001 San Francisco Fringe Festival and was awarded BEST MIME ENSEMBLE and BEST OF FRINGE.
In 2006, Stephanie moved to LA. Having spent the last 10 years performing, coaching, directing and choreographing circus & theatre, she was driven to introduce LA to her unique approach to circus training & created the Kinetic Theory Circus Arts.
Today, Kinetic Theory is both a professional theatre company and a circus theatre training program, still dedicated to pushing the limits & exploring the possibilities of mime & physical theatre.
