If you have a child, know someone who does or are "in process," consider stopping by this adorable toy store. Many a friend's child has benefited from their interesting inventory. I'm only hoping it is still around by the time I have a child. PAYBACKS (tee hee)!
Kinder Haus Toys specializes in quality new toys and old fashioned favorites with an emphasis on LOTS of wooden toys (remember those?). They also carry kids clothes (babies too), arts and crafts, outdoor things and kid furniture. They also have special events like story tellers and portrait artists.
**OPINION PRINCESS HOT TIP** They are moving as soon as they new building is built (across from the dreaded Cheesecake Factory) at 1220 Fillmore Street. So you may want to call first (703) 527-5929. The new location will be a 5,000 square foot store in the style of an old-fashioned Victorian house! Very cool. "I want dis. And I want dat." I can almost hear them now.
Kinder Haus had a great selection of fun and creative toys. We went in search of baby gifts, and found lots more. We ended up buying a stuffed shark as a gift, and were offered gift wrap for the shark and for other presents we had bought elsewhere. They seriously would not let us leave without free gift wrap and ribbon, and were very charming about it. The toys and clothes on offer were well curated - high quality for reasonable prices. We found ourselves wanting our OWN sticker books and stuffed animals.....
