This sassy, sultry, sexy songstress is the owner of Jazz at Pearl's. I was very lucky to hear her this past Sunday, belting out the songs of Billie Holiday which she has done in venues all over the globe. It's easy to see why she is popular with music fans of all ages. In between songs, she also gave a bit of history of Lady Day which made the evening so much more personal.
Kim Nalley can sing it all - blues, jazz, boogie woogie that has your toes tapping and makes you want to get right up there on the stage with her, and woeful laments on civil rights. Her voice is a precious gift we need to experience as often as possible!
