Novelty's gone, spreads on the sandwiches are WAY overdone, tiny fountain sodas, and a bunch of silly eco-propaganda every time you walk in.

Food quality has declined PRECIPITOUSLY.  I take you back, Potbelly, even with your crazy lines.  At least you're unpretentious and consistent.  And can give me a large fountain pop.

Interesting concept; pretzel twist sandwiches, pretzel flights and more.  I like the products, however the sizing is much too small and the price too expensive.  After having one sandwich I needed another and at a rate of approximately $9 - $11 for a combo with chips and drink, it's far too costly.  Maybe I was doing it wrong, so if you know a better way, enlighten me.

They also offer a coffee & cocoa bar, smoothies and a great after meal treat, fro-yo!  One stop shopping for me, if only the sandwiches were bigger.

Parking is hard to come by unless you hit them up during the earlier times of the day.

Over the weekend I was asked some very serious questions... Which is better a bagel or a pretzel??? Also, which makes the better sandwich?

As I sat there perplexed by the questions that may have no answers in my mind, I deeply wondered. As of today I'm still wondering and then I started to wonder if it can be answered, or that possibly maybe I think about silly things for way too long! The thing is a week ago this question would have been easy, I'm a bagel guy. I could eat 3 or 4 in a sitting easily (I know sick, it's something my inner fatty won't give up on). I've always liked pretzels but have had too many run-ins with over or under cooked and of course a salt ratio dilemma that is so frustrating. I sure as hell would have said that the bagel is the best for a sandwich. Everything was so clear, my judgement was final. Then, I entered Kim & Scott's Cafe Twist...

Oh, um, ah, ohhhh (other crazy enjoyment sounds), my mouth was making love to this pretzel sandwich. I heard a "Good Lord" and a "Hallelujah" but that could have been from onlookers! I'm telling you this soft doughy pretzel combined with Boar's Head turkey lunch meat, cheese, mustard, tomato, lettuce, and a bit of heaven, had me jumping and jiving for mercy. I can't say anymore or I'll have to leave work early and sit there all night eating these things. Service was nice and I apologize for leaving my finger prints and probably a little drool on the display case for the gourmet pretzels.

I... I... I'm leaving work and won't be reached until I've had my fill... later!

I enjoyed the chicken pesto pretzel sandwich. The flavor was good, but the pretzel was a little lacking. I would prefer a pretzel that covered more of the sandwich then this. There were quite a few bites that were merely fillings rather than the sandwich.
However, the pretzel was absolutely fresh and soft, and delicious!
I would suggest they keep the tea/cooler a little cooler as my iced tea was room temperature.
    I would visit here again.

I am consistently happy with my sandwiches from Kim & Scott's.  Every time I get one, it's like eating a little piece of happy.

That being said, I mostly order the veggie sandwich.  I've had the soup and been unimpressed.  The veggie sandwich, though, is made of delectable hummus and giant slices of cucumber, on a stuffed pretzel.  MMMMMM.  So much the tasty.

We were going to another restaurant for lunch and accidentally parked right in front of the cafe twist. I figured we might as well go to use my coupon. The inside of the cafe is warm and inviting, with interesting light fixtures and "sayings" on the wall.  We ordered

turkey pretzel sandwich - good, never thought that soft pretzels can be used as bread
turkey roast beef and ham sandwich - good. The meat tasted fresh.

I appreciate the fact that they use all natural products and the lunch special included chips and drink. The pretzels were soft and freshly baked, the meats flavorful. We chose the sweet potato chips and they were really good. Overall a great discovery in Lincoln Park.

Riddle me this: what is better than a delicious soft pretzel?
The answer is: slice it in half and stuff a bunch of sandwich fixins in it

I have a love affair with soft pretzels.  This includes but is not limited to: regular ol' soft pretzel, pretzel buns, pretzel rolls, pretzel sticks...I think you know where I am going with this. I had seen Kim & Scott's Cafe Twist as I've been driving around the city and thought to myself, "Now that place has my name written ALL over it." Sadly, it is not close to my apartment or work, so the stars have not aligned for months in bringing us together. Until this past weekend.

I was having a not so lovely Saturday morning and decided that I needed something to perk me up. What's better than a lunch induced carb coma? So I dragged my boyfriend with me and split the roast beef sandwich and veggie sandwich; threw in some chips and a couple soda pops...we were good to go all for about $15.

As soon as the food arrived at our table there was silence for a good 10 minutes except for phrases such as "Mmph, this is so good!" Seriously people, it was so damn good. In fact, mid-meal I was already planning my next visit and how during the summer I will be a frequent customer since I can just take it to go and have an easy picnic in Oz Park (you can steal my idea, it's okay).

Most normal people would stop there, however I've always been special. After discussing how full and satisfied we both were with the meal I said, "Want to get a dessert pretzel to go?" And we did, with the Stuffed Chocolate one. It did not disappoint and was devoured as soon as I went from being full to slightly hungry.

In case the delicious food is not enough to entice you, Kim & Scott's Pretzel is a great company. Apparently they do all sorts of philanthropic activities to make planet earth a little better: raising money for schools, planting trees, and donating to food banks. That way you'll feel like a mensch as you beast out.

Can I give this place 'no stars' for customer service?
I really wanted to like this place...their food seemed decent & they had a unique idea for birthday parties but trying to get ahold of someone to get the information and trying to book it has been nothing but a complete nightmare. I don't think one should have to call for two weeks and leave messages ...if it wasn't for my 6 yo daughter asking about it. I'm going to tell her they are no longer in business because at this rate of no return calls what else could one assume...& if they're not yet, that might be the path they're headed if they handle all their prospective consumers like that.

So it seems unique - instead of your typical bagel sandwich, how about a pretzel?  Good idea, poor execution.

Walking in to an empty store, I stood looking at the menu board for five minutes before I was acknowledged by the three employees who were standing around doing who knows what.

I tried the pesto chicken on a sourdough asiago pretzel.

Chicken was sliced in deli thin pieces (while I was hoping for a chicken breast).  Pesto was oily and dripped off my sandwich onto my plate and on my hands.  No napkins were available, either.  Sourdough was missing that great starter - bland and in need of more asiago.

Great place for kids; they have a make your own pretzel activity.  Not so great if you are annoyed by four little rugrats screaming and running around while the mother is talking about one of them puking if he drank the juice and cried at the top of his lungs.  I got the heck out of dodge real quickly once they came.

One breakfast sandwich did intrigue me as I read the menu board while I was eating my greasy pretzel - it was a turkey bacon egg on a stuffed egg pretzel.  I would try it, just for kicks.

One star for the sustainability effort - sign up for the email list, and they'll plant a tree in your honor.  The other star is for the whole grain/mildly healthy options.

    Excellent lunch!

Vegetable soup seemed like canned, but the tomato florentine was very
    good.

The veggie sandwich was very tasty, and seriously, sandwiches on pretzels = yum. Pretzel trumps bread every time.

Also, there were a few little kids in here doing the "make your own pretzel" which was about the cutest thing I've ever seen..... I have no toddlers to entertain (yet.... thank god....) but this is seriously an excellent way to kill an hour with a kid.

Overall, an adorable place, AND they have free wi-fi. I'll be back to try some of the plain pretzels as opposed to a sandwich.

So, I am obsessed with pretzels so keep that in mind as you read this review. I first had Kim & Scott's pretzels when I was at Rocking Horse in Logan Square and it was love at first bite. We then bought them at the grocery store. When I heard they had a cafe I was stoked.

It was great! My husband got the turkey pretzel sandwich and I got the ham and cheese and they were both awesome. We had a groupon and so we also ordered a grilled cheese and a asiago pretzel to go. I didn't know they had cinnamon and all kinds of sweet ones so next time I will definitely try those. And the pretzel knots with cheese, yum! How can you go wrong? :)

I wish this place was closer to my house!

My boyfriend bought a groupon for Kim and Scott's so we picked up a pretzel breakfast on our way to a family function in the suburbs.

We only ordered the stuffed pretzels and maybe that is why we're only giving 3 stars: The egg/cheese stuffed pretzel is weird - it doesn't taste like egg or cheese inside of that pretzel.

The cinnamon roll pretzel is very delicious: pretty sweet, great to split.

The basil mozzarella pretzel is also pretty good.

The sandwiches look good and we think this place is better suited for lunch instead of quasi-breakfast to-go.  We might be back, but the gourmet pretzels are a little over-priced at just about $4.

The service was pretty friendly but definitely unorganized.  Also: we have to kind of smirk at Kim and Scott's whole "pretzels changing the world" bit: Don't try so hard to spout your do-goodness: it feels like a stretch.

I fell in love with these hot pretzels years ago at the Midway airport.  I would purposely book my flight from Midway, just for these tasty pretzels....

....so imagine my delight when an entire Kim & Scott's Cafe opened up in my 'hood!!

Obviously the pretzels are amazing, cmon.  And the variety at Kim & Scott's allows for sweet, savory, stuffed, even health-concious pretzels.  Add to that the interesting sandwich combinations and the pretzel knots...in which you can try many flavors!

The service at Kim & Scott's is always friendly, and the Cafe is spotless-clean.  On that stretch of Lincoln Ave it's difficult to get a legit place, but Kim & Scott's is definitely it.

    Viva la Kim & Scott's!

Love, love, loved Kim & Scott's Cafe Twist!

Great new little place that the bf had been mentioning for a couple of weeks.  We decided to go there with the nephews for lunch.  I was a little skeptical since the boys are 10 & 6 and not interested in unknown foods.  That being said I happily saw they offer kids options, with one being the pizza pretzel, grapes, cookie, and drink.  Yay!  Make it easy on the auntie.

I ordered off the grown-up menu and kept it simple with a whole grain pretzel with hummus dip and a non-fat vanilla latte.  The bf ordered the asiago cheese pretzel turkey sandwich, which left him actually pondering whether he should go up and order another--my little gluttonous baby!   Since I didn't want to have to roll him down Lincoln Avenue, that was an H-E - double hockey stick - NO.

Love this place!!  I discovered Kim & Scott's after a groupon and it might have been the best groupon I've ever had! LOVED IT!  The pretzels were soft and moist, just delicious!  The sandwich ingredients were fresh and crispy - I had the veggie sandwich and I can't wait to go back and try more.  :)
Since I had extra money to use after my sandwich, chips & drink (only 7.50!)  I bought a box of stuffed pizza pretzels - I shared one w/ my roommate for dinner and we both loved it!  I cooked it in the oven for 10 minutes - the outside was crispy and the inside was soft and delicious.  Yummmm, writing about it I want to go back.

This location is cursed.  In my couple years of living a quarter block away, I've seen it go through several owners, each quickly disintegrating into the next one, but I think this place is the silver bullet to break the curse.  Silver bullets aren't edible, so they decided to make pretzels instead.

It has a solid menu and many options for different eaters (sandwiches, salads, etc.) and seasons (you know the seasons don't expect a list).  The apple cinnamon pretzel I'm eating right now is not only delicious but somehow feels healthy (sorry Wrigley food stands).  I think it's the magical oven (sorry talking Quiznos oven - p.s. you're one perverted oven).

If three of you want to join me next time, we can twist out "YELP" and eat it!  I call the P.

This place must be new ! I have never seen of it before or to be honest heard of it before, but it looks very Corporate inside, and lets be honest they sell frozen pretzels inside !

I walked in and was automatically overwhelmed in a good way. Do I want sweet or savory. Do I want a stuffed pretzel or a pretzel sandwhich ! Wait WHAT they have GRILLED CHEESE PRETZELS... ugh sounds like Heaven !! They actually have a really big menu. All of the sandwiches sounded delicious but I decided to go with the bagel bites because you could choose different kinds. you get five for like $3.65 which is a fabulous deal in my book. I got the pretzel (best), grilled cheese (meh), and the feta spinach (buh). Honestly none of them were that great, I think perhaps if I had them in my freezer and warmed when up when I had consumed some wine I would love it.. but not now... not in a restaurant when there are so many other fabulous places around here to eat !

We went at 8pm on a Wednesday night and It was actually quite busy, odd, especially since I have never heard of it, I live for new restaurants ! So maybe I just didn't try the right thing. Anyways good if your in the area and want something quick and cheap, not worth a  trip !

Kim & Scott have been making their gourmet pretzels for years, but their Cafe Twist in Lincoln Park is brand spankin' new!  Great product, great people, new location.

My friend works for them so they invited a few peeps in as guinea pigs to get the service worked out before they officially open on May 19th.

Now, if I didn't have anything nice to say - I could easily avoid writing this review, but I enjoyed the food and service, so why not Yelp it?   :o)

The veggie sandwich is delicious: the cucumber, tomato, sprouts & avocado were all really FRESH, and the pretzel was nice and chewy - a great change-up from the usual sandwich.  I also split a jalapeno cheddar pretzel and a chocolate pretzel with some friends - MMmmm.  MmmMMmmMMm!

They also have soups, salads, frozen yogurt, smoothies, cocoa, coffee, etc.  Plus you can twist your own pretzel.  How fun is that?!  :o)

    I'll start with the goods:

Staff was friendly, service was quick (but not how pre-prepared-is-this-food? quick), and the value was great.  $7 and some change for a sandwich, chip, and soda combo. Tough to beat around these parts for decent freshness.

My sandwich, however, is not something I'd reorder. I got the roast beef with roasted red peppers and horseradish sauce on a pretzel.  The pretzel itself was good, but the bread:inside-of-bread ratio was way too heavy on the bread side which resulted in a total lack of taste.

And maybe this is my New York background talking, but there was barely any meat on my sandwich and the horseradish sauce had no flavor.  There wasn't even a mild kick.

In the end, I felt full but not satisfied.

I'll likely go back to try their sweet pretzels, but I don't see myself eating lunch there again.

I don't really like pretzels.  They are too hard and too dry for my taste.  So I had no intention of trying out this new place a block from my house.

But... they got me with the tried and true "free sample" marketing ploy - someone was standing out front handing out free bites of a pizza pretzel sandwich.  It was WONDERFUL!  Hey, Kim and Scott, great plan.  Do that again!

Anyway, as soon as I could, I went back and got a full dosage of the Pepperoni Pizza Pretzel Sandwich.  It was just as good as the free sample was: soft and gooey, perfect crust, stuffed with nice melty cheese and slabs of pepperoni.

The menu was quite extensive, and I could easily see going back for five or six other sandwiches, let alone all the other stuff.  I'd give them five stars, but deducted one because it seems a bit spendy to me.  Six bucks is a lot for a sandwich, however yummy it is.

I just had this for lunch and was not impressed.  Maybe it was a bad batch, maybe it was an old one, but my pretzel shattered into many pieces like my hand going through glass as I attempted to eat my Cali sandwich.  It was dry, lacked flavor, and I ended up just eating what was on the inside.  Good attempt but for having "Twist" in your name, step your pretzel game.

Really quite good. They have a flight for like $13 which gives you a taste of almost everything they have on the menu. They have many different kinds of stuffed pretzels with many different sauces, all pretty tasty. The Sunday we went, it was totally empty. They were out of pretzel dogs and honey mustard which pretty much broke my husband's heart (the pretzel dog was pretty much the reason he agreed to go in the first place). Great location, friendly staff. I will return for that pretzel dog at some point.

I wasn't really all that impressed with this place.  It's over-priced and I didn't really enjoy the food.  I ordered a Greek salad and ate part of a jalapeno stuffed pretzel and was underwhelmed by both.  The salad wasn't terrible, but it was small and unexciting, especially for the price ($6.95).  The pretzel was warm and tasty, but the cheese filling was coagulated and kind of rubbery and cold.  My better half ordered some sort of cheesy ham sandwich which was pretty tasty, but not tasty enough for me to come back here when there are wayyyy better lunch places in the area.

Having been invited to dine here prior to their official opening and being blown away I had high expectations coming in. We ordered a couple items from the menu and were shocked that the price came close to $20. We really hadn't ordered that much. We were also not given a receipt and the up-charged price didn't dawn on me until I was already eating my food and had not been given a receipt.  We decided to sit at the only table that looked as if it had been properly cleaned, even though there were only two other people in the place.  My food was warm on the outside and cold and poorly cooked on the inside.  This place has a lot of potential, but it appears to me that it's very poorly run.

We were really looking forward to our lunch here, and really, it was OK.  But that's about it.  The staff seemed a little confused about how to take our order (two sandwiches and a drink!), and just generally had a vague attitude about everything.  Also, the eating area was freezing cold (on a nice day in June), so we ate quickly and left.  Food tasted good, but I don't think we'll go out of our way to come back here.

mother and i decided to stop for a visit on the way to her hair appointment. she had a groupon, and i will gladly accept any excuse to eat pretzels at 930 in the morning.

we both had the turkey bacon and cheese sandwich:: turkey bacon and cheddar in a stuffed egg and cheese bagel for $3.95. i ordered a chai latte and mother ordered a mocha with whipped cream. for the hell of it, we decided to get a sweet pretzel to go (stuffed cinnamon roll). the groupon was for $15, so we only had to fork over a few more dollars.

the woman preparing our food as well as the cashier were both patient, helpful, and super friendly. we were the only customers, but still. it was nice. when our breakfast pretzel sandwiches arrived, mother and i both did a double take. uhm..that's..it? my plate looked lonely (please reference picture). the sandwich was pretty tasty though. cheese oozed out of the sides and i appreciated the fact that they didn't skimp on bacon just because the medium was small. the chai latte was just okay but mum's mocha was great! since we were both not quite full after the sandwich, we asked for our stuffed cinnamon roll pretzel to be heated. while good (very sweet cinnamony filling), its shell got a little hard after heating, which i wasn't really a fan of.

i'm very pleased about how the place strives to be healthier, though. from the mission statement:: "whole grain flours, hardy spices, premium ingredients, and freshly shredded all-natural cheeses". after further investigation, i discovered their products have no trans fats, no hydrogenated oils, and no preservatives. it's also refreshing to have a small company place such large emphasis on the world community. from pretzels for peace to green with a twist, a+ to pretzels with purpose!

"I found my smile in that pretzel."  Direct quote to my husband after a long week at the grind.  Wandering aimlessly on Lincoln Ave looking for sustenance and stumbled in.   Pretzels, OK, why not?  Was not a particular hater or fan.  Now I am a fan.  Sourdough asiago pretzel with melted muenster cheese, turkey and spicy brown mustard?  I've had 3 in the past week.  Kettle brand chips and Coke products.  What's not to like about this place?  I even enjoy the atmosphere of eating there, which is saying a lot since it's a short walk to my own comfortable couch.  I'll continue to buy their pretzels in the hope they don't go down in flames like most independent places on Lincoln Ave.

If you are like I was - hesitant about ordering a sandwich on a pretzel - let me break it down for you.  Think of this pretzel as warm, soft , tasty, crusty bread with holes in it (for fewer calories than a solid bun).  I really enjoyed the two sandwiches I recently ordered from Kim & Scott's Cafe Twist. And if you've got kids to feed, the sandwiches are big enough for 2 people with smallish appetites.

The first was a Chicken Pesto Pretzel Sandwich Boars Head sliced chicken, pesto mayo, lettuce, & tomato on a Sourdough Asiago Pretzel. The other was Roast Beef Pretzel Sandwich Boars Head roast beef, creamy horseradish sauce, & roasted red peppers on an Herb & Cream Cheese Stuffed Pretzel.

Both sandwiches were so fresh tasting and just plain delicious. And as a bonus. the combo meal comes with large bags of Kettle Chips in a variety of flavors. Such crunchy goodness to accompany the warm softness of the pretzel sandwich.  (Talk about carb overload - I never thought about it until I wrote that last sentence) .

While we were there we saw some kids painting and decorating pretzel dough, which the owner then baked for them.  The kids really seemed to enjoy both preparing the dough and consuming the finished pretzel.  The Cafe even provided chef hats and aprons for the kids.

I will definitely add  Kim & Scott's Cafe Twist to my list of sandwich places. Another bonus - If you eat while driving, their to-go packaging is the best.

Unique pretzels, good soups.  I've had the cheddar jalapeno and the spinach feta pretzels so far.  YUM.

I love anything on pretzel bread, so this place is heaven.  I went for the first time today and got a turkey sandwich with bacon.  Heaven!  I will be back!

For being all about pretzels, it was just kind of okay, and a little pricey.  I just got the original, but I expected it to be bumped up a notch and it wasn't.  I'll stick to the deep-fried pretzels at Elephant and Castle.

I've been here twice now and really want to like this place, as it's pretty close to my place and I love soft pretzels! The first time I had the pizza sandwich. I'm not quite sure why, but it didn't seem to have a lot of taste to it, which is weird since there was a decent amount of pepperoni on the sandwich. I left feeling not very satisfied. Same thing happened on my second visit.. I tried the turkey sandwich, and while the meat seemed to be of good quality and the pretzel was still soft, I did not feel that full or satisfied upon leaving. I think I'll give it one more try and get the cinnammon stuffed pretzel that everyone has been raving about.. but until then, I'm just not that impressed.

I think I'd give this place 3.5 stars; my review is based on one sandwich eaten (and a LivingSocial coupon).  I liked the sandwich, I did.  It wasn't the best sandwich I've ever had, but the pretzel was interesting, and the meat itself seemed like quality product (Boar's Head, I think).  I don't think this is ever going to be a destination for me, but I'm not upset we tried it.

You have not lived until you've had deli meat and cheese served in-between a pretzel. The place is small so be prepared to wait for a seat or plan on taking it to go. The selection of sandwich options is great as well as dessert pretzels and even little ones for your dogs. And if you really love them, you can buy a box of ready to bake ones and make 'em at home.

I must say I find it surprising how many good reviews there are for this place. I originally saw Kim & Scott's on Food Network and thought it looked great. I got the Groupon and was excited to try as much as I could given that I had to spend $15. After waiting in line, I placed my order for the stuffed herb and cheese pretzel, a tuna sandwich and the knots with cheese dipping sauce. I waited 20 minutes and my to-go order was still not ready. People who came in long after me were already eating at this point so I asked the person behind the counter was happened and clearly my order got lost. He was gracious and said he'd make it right away. Five minutes later, I got my order. When I got to my car, they had forgotten the dipping sauce.

With respect to the food, I really didn't enjoy any of it, which is disappointing. The tuna had so much white pepper you couldn't get past it and it was on the driest, blandest pretzel I've ever had. The plain knots were fine, and I can't comment on the cheese sauce. The stuffed pretzel's filling was dry, not creamy as you'd expect from it's name, and the herbs tasted like they were dried.

Overall, I did not have a good experience here, but it's nice that they offer healthy and nut-free options.
