Needed a new doo to celebrate the new Dude!  President Obama that is!

Yes, I drove DT today and enjoyed a sunny drive where traffic was polite and people on the street were smiling.  Oh what a day!  

Anyway, I've been coming to Killer Looks for over 10 years now.  My boyfriend, now husband, turned me onto Vivian after several unsuccessful attempts to tame my crazy fine wavy mane.  He had been going to Vivian for 10 years at that time and I was impressed at his loyalty, however he is particular about his doo and this was one of the reason's he caught my eye the night we met..... Hello Handsome!

Vivian is the BEST, I mean it!  She's truly one of the most genuine people I've ever had the pleasure to meet and a babe at that!  Not to mention she's awesome at what she does.  Several times a year she flies to NY for classes on new techniques with talented hair aritists and I'm totally impressed at her skill in fine tuning my waves and thick fine hair into something much more than presentable.  If it's up to me, no one else will touch my locks and I'm so thankful the hubby was in tune with his feminine side enough to know a good thing when he had it!

Not only is Vivian great in the hair department, she has also created an amazing make-up line.  Love, love, love the travel compact that you can switch out the product and colors!  The eye/cheek cremes are also a must.  This lady has taste and it is apparent with the way this line has been developed as well as this salon.  The copper wall, mirrors, furnishings, flowers and product contribute to a modern eclectic but intimate salon experience.

Tiffany is wicked with the shears. I could tell I was going to like her style as soon as I saw her. I was referred to Tiffany by Jill at Smooth after complimenting her on her cut.

I went in because I needed a re-configuration of my current style for some photos I am having done. Tiffany was able to listen to me, and then listen to my hair (she is the hair whisperer), and I walked out there looking fab.

I adore Tiffany, and the salon itself is nice and chic. it is a bit pricier than I usually can afford, so I might not be able to see her as often as I would like, but the fact that she does free bang touch ups does help that a bit.

If you've been to Austin, you may have eaten at a sandwich shop called Schlotzsky's.  Their slogan is, "Funny name.  Serious sandwich."  

That's how I feel about Killer Looks.  Funny name.  Serious style.  (Hang with me...I would draw a connection soon enough.)

This review is mainly about Tiffany Lowry, who recently left Red Salon and now sets up shop at Killer Looks.  She is not just a hair stylist, but rather a true hair and makeup artist.  I've been going to her for a while now and am truly a satisfied customer.  Not only is she good at her trade, she's very entertaining and can be the keeper of your darkest secrets...As for her skills, she is full of suggestions without being pushy.  Knowledgeable about products without steering you always to the most expensive things.  She also does eyebrows and makeup, and has even looked at makeup I already owned and showed me how to wear it properly.  

As for hair, I am never sure of exactly what I want, and only a little about what I don't want.  Somehow, however, I seem to only be able to articulate this in a series of hand gestures accompanied by squawks and other guttural sounds (those that know me are not surprised).  She speaks this language and is able to provide me with a new 'do every time that I love.
