The atmosphere is nice and pretty classy for such a late-night option. But the prices are a little high for the type of food that is served. Additionally, I found the food to be underwhelming.

The empanada platter was pretty creative: two small empanadas, each of mini Poblano cheese, ropa vieja, and curry chicken empanadas, with two dipping sauces. ($6.95) Problem? They were not tasty without the sauces - you need something to dip them in. Second, the empanadas were tiny - about half the size of your standard empanada or smaller.

Black Magic salad (romaine hearts wth marinated blue cheese confit, vine ripe tomatoes, and Harold's own Black Magic sauce. ($6.95) Very mediocre. Romaine hearts are more bitter than the Romaine leaves, simply because they're the least ripe part of the plant. Additionally, couple that with the strong blue cheese, you've got a pairing problem. Tomatoes were just that. Black Magic sauce tasted a lot like balsamic vinegar. Not worth it.

Seared Tuna (appetizer, $10.95) was the best thing I've had so far as far as appetizers go - but the tuna (ordered medium-rare) was a little too cooked. It is served over a ginger, mango, wakame coleslaw and a rice wine/boisin sauce. Tasty, but in all due honesty, I liked the seared tuna from a few stores down at La Moon better.

The Miami Sandwich (Cuban bread, ham, swiss cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomatoes, $7.95) was served with a big heap of french fries. Both the sandwich and the french fries were tasty.

The cappucino ($2.90 for the small 12 oz.) was okay. Surprisingly, the foam filled up at least 2/3 of the cup. Foam mustache, anyone? Well-regarded Intelligentsia coffee beans are used.

Spotted Costco's guava cheesecake that I liked.

VERDICT: I wouldn't come here to eat, and I don't have that great of an impression of Chef Harold Breton yet. I wouldn't mind coming for a burger or a sandwich. And I wouldn't mind coming for coffee as well - this would fit the bill for a good late-night coffee house, both American-style (American, double espresso, cafe latte, cappucino) and Cuban-style (cortadito, colada, cafe con leche).

"KIKI'S, owned by the Transit Lounge folks and located right next door, highlights the cuisine of chef Harold Breton, formerly from Berrie's and Les Halles. It is currently serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night snacks."

I'd come for late night snacks, especially if you're at transit lounge.
a pretty straight forward menu; there's still better places to eat in the area.  I do have to say I liked my prosciutto and brie panini.  mini empanadas were ok (3 dipping sauces)

I love this place. Its got great food and is open late. Harrold the Exec Chef is good people and is doing his thing in the kitchen nightly. The empanadas are wonderful and the paninnis are awesome. Its got great decor and is the perfect ending to a long day. its small so call ahead for  large parties.
