Neighborhood: WallingfordS.M. was incorrect about a few things here- there is a play area in the back to occupy the little ones, and you can being in your stroller. The friendly staff will keep an eye on your sleeping baby or empty stroller as you shop. The staff does not mind at all if your tot plays and makes a mess- they simply wait until the child is done playing and then go clean up after them. The owner and her staff are very friendly and enjoy their customers. There is also a restroom. The aisles are crowded, but there are great deals. They will donate clothing that is damaged in any way rather than put it out to sell. The toys are never broken , and if there is a missing piece discovered when you get home, they have a wonderful 30 day return policy. If you have a consignment account, they discount 20% off of their fabulous selection of new items. They carry Burt's Bees, California Baby, Mustela and belly oil for pregnant moms. Their new toys are non toxic and well made- Mellisa and Doug among other brands. They have great deals on books, name brands, and equipment. I highly recommend this store.
Yes it is a small space, but I have never failed to leave there without a pile of very reasonably priced cute clothes for both my kids (1 yr and 3 yrs). Small selection of toys, but again have found a few gems (like a Thomas the train train table that was fully loaded for $200). Staff has been fine, I don't expect Nordstrom service. It was a pain to set up an appointment to sell them clothes, have to make an appointment weeks in advance--instead I chose to donate to charity. This has become my replacement store when A Child's Closet on 25th Ave NE closed last year.
A small shop filled with kids clothes, books, toys and games. Like any consignment shop you have to do a fair bit of hunting to find the good stuff. The selection for infants is great but things taper off as you get into preschool sizes as the kids wear their clothes longer and harder as they get older. Appointments are required for dropping off items to consign. Consignment is for store credit only.

This is a small but jam-packed consignment shop. They are strongest in the infant-preschool age and have limited stock for elementary age kids (try Value Village instead for that age). In addition to clothes, they carry toys, shoes, books, strollers, kid bikes n trikes, and backpacks. The prices are good. They are not quite as selective as some shops -- I like this because sometimes I'm not looking for go-to-church stuff but rather play in the dirt clothes. They have a $1 rack. You have to make an appointment to drop off stuff and get in-store credit when your stuff sells.

I went there for the first time and did not like it at all. The sales people totally ignored me, while everyone else that walked through the door got big hellos. They didn't even bat an eye when I left. The new stuff seemed very overpriced and I didn't really find any interesting clothes. I did see they had other things that you wouldn't find at other consignment shops like bibs and socks, which was good.

This is the best thrift store I've found in Seattle for used kids clothing. The prices are very good, and the selection is excellent even though they are in such a small space (tons of stuff jammed in together). They are constantly putting out more items, so check back frequently. I've found lots of excellent deals on their dollar rack, and I've also found many pairs of great shoes for much, much less than I would have to spend otherwise.

This kids clothing store is packed! So many colors, so many fun outfits for the little ones. There are many wealthy families in this area, so why buy when you can get beautiful and lightly used clothes for your kids. They do also carry new merchandise, including hats, shoes, boots and other fun accutrements.

I don't have kids but I assume buying them clothes when they grow out of them every week is painful on the wallet. This place seems like a cheap way to outfit your kids and still be able to outfit yourself afterwards. They have both new and used clothing... and it all seems cute... nothing that looks used. The place is also jam packed with strollers and other child accessories!
Mostly a consignment shop, but there's some new stuff as well. I don't think they're discerning enough about what they accept....sometimes merchandise seems downright ratty, especially in the shoe category. They also have lots of toys, carseats, puzzles, strollers, but these too can be more heavily used than you might expect.
My son is only 2, so I don't have a lot of years of motherhood behind me, but so far, I am amazed by the number of consignment stores that are so jampacked, you really can't go there with a kid in tow. Kids On 45th is no exception. While they have good deals on clothes (not too thrilled by the selection and condition of the toys), I only visit them when I'm by myself. You can't take a stroller in, so be prepared to leave it outside on the high-traffic sidewalk. And if you have a toddler who doesn't need a stroller, you'll spend most of your time keeping them from pulling toys off the shelves because there is no play area to occupy them and the aisles are so tiny and crowded, you'll have to constantly tug your child out of the way of a customer who wants to squeeze through. If you want to go to a thrift store with wide aisles and an engrossing train table, try Me 'n Moms instead.
