I absolutely love this place!!  Yes, Bobby and Sayla will work you til you're crawling out the door, but its so much FUN!  I HATED working out before, but when I started coming here, I would go to classes 4-5 days a week, and felt bad if I ever missed a class.  My life pretty much revolved around the classes (my friends and ex boyfriend would agree).

If you go regularly and eat right, you will notice change quickly.  My arms, legs and abs looked more toned and I just felt more confident about my body.  Plus, there's something empowering about kicking and punching.  Classes will wipe you out, but that's the point of working out right?

This class may look intimidating, but its not.  Majority is females.  They divide the class between beginners and regulars, so they won't just throw you in.

Unfortunately I've moved away over a year ago for work, BUT I always make sure to stop by for a class or two whenever I'm back in LB.  I miss this gym so much, I've tried to find another similar to it, but to no avail.

Went here for a few months and was strongest and most fit i have ever been in my whole life. Best part is everyone is so nice and welcoming and not intimidating at all! I went to the kickboxing classes and every class started with some major calisthenics, warm ups and practicing technique followed by stretches then pairing off with focus mitts. The harder you work, the more results you will see and Both Bobby and Sayla will definitely WORK YOU. The class never got boring and there was always something new. They definitely challenge you but never to the point where you were crying for them to leave. I always finished class in a much better and accomplished mood and saw results fast!

TIP: join with a friend with relatively the same height and strength --getting paired with a 5'10" full on grown man was not very fun =/

I've moved from LB to Santa Rosa and then now living in San Diego due to my new job. I've been trying place after place and nothing else compares to this place. Honestly, I can tell you that the combinations that they teach are fun and not just the repetitive kicking, jab, cross, and hook. I haven't been to another gym yet that I've felt at home where it wasn't a bunch of guys in Affliction shirts doing MMA. I was in the best shape of my life while going here. Wish me luck on finding a new place, or else I just might have to move back to the LBC. LOL

I highly recommend KickBlast!  I have nothing but good things to say about the dojo.  The instructors are awesome.

Even though kickboxing may seem really intimidating at first, they make you feel really comfortable.  They know exactly how much to push you so you feel challenged but not overwhelmed.

Unlike the gym, I never get bored at KickBlast!  The really mix it up so you are never doing the same routine day after day.

I think the only thing that would make it better would be if it was open like 24/7 so I could attend a class at any time day or night!

I can't lie this is my home away from home.  Been over two years and I still love it.  If you're looking to get in shape, embrace your physical self, and meet great people this is the place for you.  When I started I was borderline diabetic and 27 pounds heavier than I am now.  Literally saved my health and all that kicking and hitting has defintely saved my sanity :)

i've been a member of the dojo since july of 2006, when i joined in frustration. it was a hail mary pass, really - for years i'd been one of those people who, in a frenzy of desire to take off a couple of pounds and tone up what was left afterward, would join a gym, work out religiously and fanatically for... a month or two, then quit out of boredom and, by 2003, due to strange aches and pains that resulted from even the tamest trip to the gym.

by the summer of 2006, i was soft, doughy, out of shape, and in danger of reaching an all-time high on the scales.  i'd tried everything to get in shape, but due to the aforementioned mysterious aches and pains, was left with no options for working out.

so, i googled, found power kick, and joined.  kickboxing?  why not?  nothing else was working.  but this did - and those aches and pains?  forget about it.  i don't get them anymore; haven't since i joined.

feel free to look them up and read the review i wrote at the time.

now, power kick is closed, but from the ashes has risen the phoenix of kickblast, and the reasons i've remained a loyal and faithful member for three years - senseis sayla and bobby, the incredible workouts, the other members (shouts out to dojo bff ami!), bi-annual fight nights (seriously, the best thing ever), and dear god, don't forget the PARTIES (because there are a LOT of them!) - remain.

things have been kicked up a notch, as well.  cardio kickboxing is, of course, a mainstay - and guaranteed to give you muscles you didn't know you had and a level of fitness you had no idea you could attain.  and classes at the dojo are not like the classes you pop into at the gym, either.  prepare to learn technique, prepare to sweat, and prepare to hear bobby insist - loudly and in a tone that silences any argument - that yes, you CAN do one more set of eight cross punch situps or one more set of ten roundhouses.  :)  and after one of sayla's warmups, you'll feel shredded, in disbelief that there's still half an hour left in class.  and then he shreds you even more.

the miraculous thing is, you can actually do it!  it's amazing what you learn you're capable of.

of course, if cardio kickboxing isn't quite your bag, lots of mixed martial arts classes have been added.  there's now a friday night running club.  if you're interested in sparring, you can do that as well, ultimately competing - if you choose - in fight night.  have kids?  there are classes for them, too.  and my guess is they'll keep surprising us with more and more options - all of which are free with the price of your monthly membership, by the way.

classes are open to all levels, and instruction is friendly and always, always encouraging.  there's no need to feel awkwardness about your body, your age, your level of fitness, or your inexperience.  not only do senseis bobby and sayla never make you feel inferior, but neither do any of the members.  i cannot imagine a more supportive workout environment.

we were all beginners once, and you'll be surprised by the range in age, body type, and skill level among dojo members.

the dojo is like a family.  one big, sweaty, sarcastic, ass-kicking family, and probably more fun to hang out with on thanksgiving than your own.  :)

so, in closing, if you're bored with routine trips to the gym, tired of tying on running shoes to pound the pavement alone, interested in kicking up your normal workout a notch, curious about mixed martial arts, or simply want to make some new friends to booze it up with at every conceivable opportunity, i couldn't recommend kickblast highly enough.

    yess this place is AMA-ZING!
so i've only been here for a couple of months. because i did the "3 month, 4th month free" deal and it's so great to be working out with people who motivate you.

so i only really know bobby and sayla. and they're pretty cool people. their not snooty instructors at all, and they have no problem getting down on the mats and working it out.

so the classes are at great times, i wish they had more, but none the less, everyone knows almost everyone. it's very personal in there and we have tons of fun. i know there's a fight night coming up, and what says dojo family better than beating the crap out of everyone.

so losing weight... i'm still working on that personally, but after i go to just one class, i feel healthier hahaha and i do sleep better at night.

so i only do the kickboxing but i know of many who take MMA and such and its just such good vibes, i can't stop saying good things about this place.

definitely try it out, you won't be sorry.

I have just recently joined KickBlast and absolutely LOVE it so far!  The instructors are great and I always look forward to the next day I get to workout!  I leave there totally exhausted, but satisfied with the hardwork I just accomplished.  All of the students have been so helpful and really nice as well.  I would definitely go check them out if you've been thinking about it because not only do I feel good about the establishment I chose to work out in, but I always end up feeling good about myself after I leave.  Can't wait to see the results of my hardwork after a couple of months attending classes reguarly. :-)

This place is amazing! I've been going for a couple of months now, and I love what is happening to me! I am so much stronger, and my confidence has shot through the roof. I NEVER thought that I would get into sparring, and I just love the cardio kickboxing classes. I'm not much of a sweater, but when I leave here I am drenched. The instructors know how to keep you motivated.  Yes I am getting a kick ass workout, but I am also learning form and technique. The energy here is amazing, and the people are awesome. If you are a beginner, the beginner classes rock.  When you do transition out of beginners, the more advanced continue to help you in your development. It's really hard work! Come here to train! I'm so glad that I did!!!
