Came with a group of 10 and there wasn't a hitch in the service whatsoever. We were all able to get separate checks from the get-go and everything panned out smoothly and pleasantly :)
Got a pancake with strawberries on it.. uh yum. Came with 1 egg and 2 pieces of bacon and a tiny (maybe 6oz) glass of OJ? All of this came to less than $7 and was more than enough to fill me up. Portions were awesome and the food was delish.
If you're in the area, forget about Denny's or IHOP or anything like that. Get some of this instead. -

I went here today for lunch and only had to wait about 2 minutes for a table.
I got a raspberry iced tea and the pepperjack skillet. They were both great. The skillet was delicious and the amount of food was HUGE. I can probably make two more meals out of my leftovers. My boyfriend got the garden vegetable skillet and he really enjoyed it too.
The service was prompt and friendly, and I definitely plan on coming back. -

We went on a Sunday at 11:30 am and the wait was about 20 - 25 minutes. It's your typical diner that serves everything from American to Mexican food. The portions are definitely LARGE and can comfortably shared by 2 people.
Order: Country Fried Steak breakfast with a side of flappy jacks.
The country fried steak was huge and tasty. It wasn't the best I've had, but it wasn't too bad either. I ordered the gravy on the side in attempts to keep the steak crispy. The gravy was smooth, but needed a tad more salt for my taste. The flappy jacks were too thick which made it tastes bready. If they were thinner, they would have more of a buttermilk flavor. They give you tons of maple syrup and all the condiments from Tabasco, jams, and flavored creamers are available right at the table. Overall, the food is good and the service to quick. -

This was my first visit after hearing great things about this place from my co-workers. I had breakfast and it was bomb!! I ordered the biscuits and gravy w sausage patties and eggs and I loved it! Food came quick my only negative comment is our waiter wasn't on top of his game. I will go again soon for lunch!

Come here if you're looking for a good breakfast, hearty portions, and decent prices. Their pancakes are amaaazing! Super fluffly and HUGE! We recently came on a weekday morning so they had weekday specials, we ordered their chorizo and eggs, half size Santa Fe skillet (HUGE), and one pancake. I pretty much was filled up on a half the pancake alone and had to pack my skillet to go. If you're able to come on a weekday, take advantage, weekday prices and no wait! (:

Came here for round 2! Bahama mama skillet definitely hits the spot!! Just one skillet full of fatty goodness. I loved how the sausages gave the eggs and potatoes a hearty, meaty flavor. Top it off with hot sauce and you're in the gold.
by the way, the cornbread was too dry, go for the biscuits and gravy! great service.Listed in: The 909

This is a great spot for a massive breakfast. The omelets would easily feed two people, and the food was excellent. A great value for a big eater.

Kickback Jack's (some may call it BC Cafe) reminds me of Denny's, but you get served by much friendlier grandmothers :)
I had their pancakes. I know it's nothing special, but they didn't mess it up.
TIP: Don't order water! It probably tastes as gross as toilet water. Yuck! -

Really great service and food for the price! Came here 2pm and they were still so inviiting, did not feel like they were closing 3 pm.
Got the skillet santa fe and the french toast, botth about $6.45 each. Frech toast was good for $6.45 since I filled up on the chips and salsa. The skillet was huge for the price! Ate 1/4 with my friend and had left over for 2 or 3 more people.
Coffee came with flavored creamer on table (not like other chains with only half/half).
Very impressed, will be back. Bill $18.47 for both of us with coffee.Listed in: Breakfast

Went on a Saturday morning and it wasn't as crowded yet when we got there but by the time we were leaving there was a line outside.
Great service, delicious food (ordered lunch crunchy shrimp with fantastic fries that came with coleslaw and choice of corn bread/garlic bread).
Also, they give a lot! one order can feed 2 people.
I know this place is for breakfast but I like lunch menu better worth the try. -

Whenever I let the fat girl in me have a free day, she wants comfort food. So I took her to BC Cafe (I will always call it that) after work one morning. Service was immaculate today. I had an outstanding waitress, an old school one. Fat girl ordered the 5 egg Lousiana hot link omelette with home fries and a side of country gravy. Every now and then I had to step in and eat the wheat toast to remind fat girl I actually have been losing weight so don't #%$ it up.
After I made fat girl tap out, I boxed my food to go and went home to go to sleep haha.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Where am I? The Midwest?
The fresh berries and sliced banana golden waffle with mounds of whipped cream was heavenly. Large portion and they didn't skimp on the berries either. I would have paid close to $15 for something like this where I live in LA but it was half the price here.
The zesty spicy sausage skillet was also very good. The sausage had a very good kick to it. -

Not sure what this place is called. The sign outside says BC Cafe. But the menu and everything else inside says Kickback Jack's. Whatever, they had pretty good breakfast food! The wait was about 30 minutes on a Sunday morning, but the servers were friendly despite the crowds. They gave us a ton of food. One regular entree was enough for two people.
I had a lot of time to look at the menu while waiting for a table - there are a lot of options so I suggest taking the time waiting for a table to figure it all out. They offer similar type breakfasts in various formats - e.g. you can get eggs, or an omelette or a skillet. Each version has different options for sides. At the front of the menu, they offer smaller versions of their more popular breakfasts. You can also upgrade your house fries to "super" which includes cheese, bacon, and avocado. Yummy!
I tried the feta cheese and basil omelette with the super house fries. It was way too much food, but everything tasted fresh. My husband enjoyed his flapjacks. I had no room to try them, so I'll just take his word for it. Good option for breakfast just off the 10 freeway. -

I don't get all the hype? I guess bc there are not a lot of breakfast places to hit up in the IE. Came here on a Sunday afternoon around 1pm with kids in tow. There was about a 20 minute wait. Finally got seated and we ordered the Bahama omelet that comes with three pancakes and also a kids entree for french toasts. The omelet was good. But the pancakes were a letdown. They had that too much "flour batter" taste that not even the syrup and butter could hide. I like IHOP pancakes a lot better. I will still give this place another shot though and maybe their other menu items will be much more appetizing.

So me and the boyfriend were here a couple of weeks ago because we were starving and wanted to try a new place to eat. I, personally, was excited because I saw the majority of the reviews and thought lets just give it a try!
So first off when we got there the hostess sat us at our table promptly, which is great. BUT for some reason maybe she had a bad day or super busy morning.. our menus were, I don't want to say thrown or tossed but something in between? at the end of the table and just said our server will be there to take our order shortly. Me and my boyfriend just stared at each other wondering if we did anything wrong... like I said maybe she was having a bad day... we all do sometimes.. I just brushed it off.
So we waited for our server, got water in a small glass even though I saw everyone else around us with larger glasses of water, and there was no refill after that one small glass : / Anyways, our server seemed nice (that's mainly what I based the 'star' rating on.) Here comes the part that irritated me. It took about 20-25 mins for our order to be taken, and took 40 mins for our food to arrive. I really am not exaggerating about the forty mins either because we timed it. I would have understood if it was busy but there were people around us that came later than we did and got their food before ours. And I got orange juice instead of apple juice (This is no biggie though because either or is fine, but still...)
The food itself was average there's something about the taste that I didn't particularly like. It wasn't bad but it wasn't that great, but I mean to each their own on taste palate.
Would we come back? I don't think so, maybe it was a bad day or just an off day but it didn't hit the spot, sadly. -

I've been here on two different occasions. First time was trough a coupon of buy one entree get one free, we got there they were super nice to us, as soon as we showed the coupon service went downhill. To make a long story short we ordered 2 entrees and a side of pancakes, and guess what we got free? The side of pancakes, which is clearly stated as a side NOT an entree. But I digress.
The second time it was for my husband's birthday, no coupons this time though (I learned my lesson). Service was average, we got the same lady we had previously dealt with. I asked 3 times in a very lowkey way of course, for them to sing to my husband, but of course it did not happen. Even after I reminded her.
As far as I am concerned this place is average, the food was pretty good but the service sucks. -

was in the mood for brunch! yelp helped me out
what i ate:
- chicken fried steak: huge steak! enough leftovers for another meal later in the day. the steak itself was crispy and good. the white country gravy was creamy and pretty delicious with the biscuit. the biscuit was huge but a bit on the dry side
- coffee: good for diner coffee
pros:
- food: their menu is really extensive and they have everything you would want for brunch/breakfast.
- LARGE portions
- service: our server was very cute and attentive
- went for brunch middle of the week and there was no wait for a table
cons:
- kickback what? trusting my GPS i found the restaurant, but there is NO SIGN taht says kickback jacks! the outside sign says BC diner, but the menus say kickback jacks. confusing! my friend ended up across the street at another diner. i had to call and let her know where to find me
would i come again? maybe, if only i could FIND it again! -

This place is always busy! We've only been here on a weekday breakfast and there's always some kind of wait. Goes to show it's good although this place is smaller than the one in Rancho.
Service is good but since it's busy it's not as attentive as I'd like but I can understand.
Some of my favs is their chocolate chip pancake about the size of a medium pizza x2!! There's no need for syrup but it's good it's so big and thick but light and fluffy at the same time. I dunno how they do it but it's amazing! Probably the best pancakes I've had.
Also had their pot roast skillet and WOW comfort food with breakfast?! Yes I said it and it was amazing. I love it although it's a HUGE portion but I didn't mind it as leftovers still very yummy. Make sure to get some salsa.
Will always be a great go to breakfast place for me. But come here hungry or be ready to go home w/ lots of leftovers! It's share-able portions. -

Walnut, CA
It's a typical american old diner atmosphere and menu. The plates are huge and full. I needed to share a simple egg omelet plate bc it would've been three meals for me otherwise. Their egg dishes have 3-5 eggs plus whichever else items based on the order you select. The coffee is bland, but that's common at diners, maybe bc I like my coffee strong and smooth. Nothing really stood out at the diner (food, service, or anything else). Our waitress seemed to be having a so-so morning or maybe she didn't like us.
I'm guessing that its popular bc there are limited types of diners in the area. Maybe BC Cafe had good reviews, therefore, Kickback Jack's still has that name on the building while their menus and interior has converted to Kickback Jack's. We were confused when we walked into the door about which restaurant we were a patron of.
It's a basic diner to have a hearty american breakfast. Nothing more. -

Whenever I watch tv & see a spiffy diner in a suburb I long for that here in my neck of the woods. Lo and behold just off the 10fwy in Claremont is BC Cafe - Kick Back Jack's :}
http://www.yelp.com/bi...
All American Diner with a ginormous menu. The selection on the menu contains A LOT. Being that it was brunch time I went for French toast that was drizzled with caramel and sprinkled with pecans. Whoa. It came out and was enough to perhaps feed a couple of countries, a couple of families ok ok maybe just a couple of people but still the proportion is pretty big. Mid-way I did have to throw in the towel. Although good and beautifully done, this French Toast was soooo filling and heavy with the bread, the batter they soaked it in and the rich caramel all over, entrenched in sweetness, any good food solider would have known when it was time to retreat.
If ever in the area and craving the sense of dining in a all American diner, venture on out to BC Cafe. It's hustling, It's bustling and there's plenty of food to go around. Come hungry, leave stuffed. -

Flappy Jack's in Glendora used to be my favorite breakfast place around my parent's house. Kickback Jack's is my new breakfast spot.
The menu is insane. There are too many choices to choose from. I always have a hard time deciding what to order.
I love their pancakes. They are so light and fluffy. I had 2 super jacks- one with pecans and bananas and the other with blueberries. Both were delicious and huge.
Staff is very friendly and nice. My water and iced tea were constantly being refilled. This place gets pretty packed on weekends. I suggest coming here right before closing. -
Review from Rho L.
While the menu in of itself is your standard breakfast fare, the portions are not for the faint of belly. Some may complain that the prices are hefty, but c'mon they serve you enough grub for three people, and I'm quite the big eater!
BC or Kickback jack doesn't have any one mindblowing item, but the food they do serve is some good quality grub. The bacon isn't fake-on and the eggs aren't watered down. As a matter of fact, when they serve you avocado, they thickly slice a beautiful portion of it onto your omelet. The pancakes seem to melt in your mouth, and that's without butter.
We also had an amazing server this time around who catered to the finicky needs of a table of 14. She managed us well, and just seemed genuinely happy with her job. I love that.
Great visit to BC cafe. Everyone was shamefully stuffed, with literally 7 large styro containers of food to go.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Pasadena, CA
Food here is not fresh and a bad sign when your customers are scared while they eat the food. They give you so much food but none of it has any flavor. This restaurant caters to Americans who love excessive food, and it makes customers happy that they have another pile of food for lunch tomorrow.
I saw scary amounts of food on peoples' plates, like almost to the point that it is socially irresponsible. I ordered the Maui Fish Tacos. It took about 40 minutes to get my food and when it came it smelled very fishy. If fish is fresh it should not smell like it's about to turn. They didn't even keep the fried fish in tact inside the taco. It was shredded and my taco looked like someone had eaten it, chewed it, and spit it back in the taco. It came with a lovely side of flavorless mexican rice and gave the black beans a very bad reputation.
I wanted to like this place because my colleagues seemed to love it. It's so awkward when you are sitting there with disgusting food on your plate and your supervisor is sitting across from you saying that it's the best food ever. Granted, I went for lunch, so hopefully breakfast is better. Also, they need to figure out the name of their restaurant. Is it BC Cafe? or is it Kickback Jack's? I would not recommend this restaurant. It is food poisoning waiting to happen. -

Second review (1st review 5 stars)
This one only merits 3 stars because of the service we received.
The food was delicious!
Our order:
The Californian - chicken sandwich (can't fvck that up!)
Eggs Benedict - after hearing the hype, I understand why! Best Holandaise sauce ever!
Country Platter - biscuits with gravy, bacon, eggs and home fries (homeboy loved it and he's a picky ninja!)
Shortstack - Wtf can I say about their flap jacks?! Nipples harden at the thought.
Service was ok the first hour! Poor waitress had to re-take homeboy's order because he realized he didn't like the chicken fried steak here......It wasn't until we were paying for the meal that it became a cluster fvck.
Actually, I'm lying. It wasn't until the day after...My friend got charged with all the meals even though we had a split check. I paid in cash and got my change back. She paid with her card and didn't bother to keep her receipt. She checks her account the following day and realizes she got charged for our meals as well! But the dilemma is how do we prove it to them? I received no receipt and she didn't bother keeping hers....smh. She's there right now trying to get this straightened out.
PS. The waitress that gave us our change and our bill was NOT the same one that took our orders and gave us the original tab!
BOO on you KBJ! But I will be back =] I'll just keep my receipts!1 Previous Review: Show all »

Monterey Park, CA
Planned on stopped by here after the Yelp ROC race event http://www.yelp.com/bi... after seeing all the reviews about the big portions. It didn't disappoint. Got here around 12:30 on Saturday and the place was packed.
The menu is HUGE and I pretty much wanted to eat everything after the race, but I had my heart set on the VEGGIE PAN JACK http://www.yelp.com/bi... and a PEACH ICED TEA http://www.yelp.com/bi....
Both were really good, especially since the put actual peach in the iced tea.. and it wasn't too sweet
But what really puts it over was our waitress Evelyn. She was SUPER sweat. After our order she checked in frequently, never intrusive, and making sure we didn't miss out on anything. Here's how it went... you be the judge.
Evelyn: "Need some salsa and ketchup for you eggs?"
Me: "Yes, Please!"
Evelyn: "Broughtca two bottles cause one's almost out."
Evelyn: "Would you like some syrup and butter for the edges of your pancake?"
Me: "Syrup please, no butter"
Evelyn: "You betcha"
[After eating stuffing myself with half my GIANT breakfast]
Evelyn: "Aw, you giving up?"
Me: "Yes" (sad face)
Evelyn: "Need a box"
Me: "Yes, please" (sad face)
Evelyn: "Want some syrup to go?"
Me: "No, I think I'm fine"
[Comes back with box]
Evelyn: "Want me to pack that for you?" (very motherly tone)
Me: "No, I think I'm fine" :D
Evelyn: "Need a refill on the Ice Tea?"
Me: "I think I'm alright"
Evelyn: "Do you want to take it to go?"
Me: "Um... sure" (there was only a little left, pretty much just the peaches and no tea)
Me: "Here, I filled it up for you" {BOOM, that's service!!!}
Good food, GREAT SERVICE. We be back here if I'm in the area again.
Friend got the BAHAMA MAMA SKILLET. http://www.yelp.com/bi...
He seemed to enjoy it as well. -
Review from Neil A.
Came here for breakfast and was not blown away like other people. The food was good, the service was fine but overall nothing really amazing or making me want to run back here again. With 3 other greasy spoon diners around the general area I will skip here.
I have noticed that there can be quite a wait time on sunday morning after church time. Not sure how much this has increased or decreased with norms just down the street, but be prepared to wait a while. -

Very clean, with fast and helpful service. Each breakfast plate is about $10 or more, which is more than other diners in the area, but they serve a lot of food.
I was a little confused at first, because outside the sign says BC Café, but the place is actually called Kickback Jack's. I ordered the corned beef and hash and it came with rice and beans (or toast or 3 pancakes!). Very yummy.
My friend got the chicken and waffles (the bread on the chicken was so good!). I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast! -

Had a groupon voucher to this place, read good reviews so I decided to check it out. Had breakfast there and as reviews stated, the portions are huge and the food is good. The only problem I had was choosing what to order as it all looks so good. I ended up having a waffle with an eggs skillet dish. It was awesome, I couldn't finish it all. I will probably go back, and I recommend Kickback Jacks to others.
NOTE: Sign out front of building does not state "Kickback Jacks" it says "BC Cafe" -

I heard lot's of chatter about this place, there's usually a line out the door when we drive by.
Finally we decided to give it a try I figure we got lucky as we were seated within minutes.
Unfortunately that's were our luck ended.
After asking 2 different servers we found out who our servers was and as she pass by us for the fourth time I had to literally scream out "excuse me" to get her attention.
Finally after "15" minutes of waiting we were able to placed our order.
Of course it was another half hour before we actually received our meals, food tasted modest after waiting so long for a meal I was too upset to enjoy it.
The place seems to be pack so I would imagine that this type of service its not frequent around here.
Unfortunately for them as a first time experience this was horrible for us.
We have received much better service at the "Dennys" just 2 minutes away from here.
Try sitting at a table for 45 minutes with a couple of hungry kids? yeah not fun... -

3 words...Bahama Mama Skillet. I've ordered this dish 4 times and I can't believe how delicious it is. The chipotle sauce makes the dish. Order extra sauce and let the good times roll. Friendly staff and good, quick service. Definitely my favorite breakfast/lunch place.
They frequently have coupons in clipper magazine that works on weekdays. Buy 1 entree and 2 beverages and 2nd entree of equal or lesser value is free. I never leave home without it.
Only negatives are the long wait (due to popularity) and a bit on the pricier side, but the portions are large enough for 2 meals. -

This place is a favorite spot of mine....the menu is huge and everything I have had is awesome. Everyone has worked there for some time and I always get great service. Only downside is everyone else seems to feel the same way I do and it gets busy on the weekends. Best bet is to sit at the counter or just be ready to wait a while for a table.

NOM NOM NOM! Breakfast is by far the best meal of the day and this place makes sure to stand by that statement. We wanted to try this place as a counterpart to Flappy Jack's over in Glendora. First off, the portions here a HUGE! Huge actually might be an understatement. We ate here on a Friday morning and we didn't have to wait at all. The service was prompt and extremely friendly from the get-go, which is always a huge plus.
The food was so goooood! We tried the Eggs Benedict and the Bahama Mama Skillet. The Eggs Benedict are just that, Eggs Benedict. Nothing out of the ordinary but the portion was rather large. Simple and easy. The Bahama Mama Skillet was something else. Potatoes, bell peppers, chipotle sauce, corn, eggs, and sausage! It sounds like a hot mess and it really was. The sausage was sweet and it was a nice compliment to the sour cream that I asked for. All the food was exceptional.
Next time we go there we will be trying the waffles and pancakes. Overall a great place to have breakfast. Highly recommended. -

This place is incredible. The portions are gigantic. I ordered eggs benedict, and had enough left over for 2 more meals. I also ordered fresh juice, and it came in a large glass. It was only $4 which is a great deal considering it was freshly squeezed. The server was very helpful. I can't wait to try something off the lunch menu.

Review from Cat B.
I don't get it. Someone explain the hype, please?
Went here with friends on a Saturday morning, the wait was 30 minutes. No biggie. We were seated within 30 minutes, and went ahead and used a "Groupon."
Our waitress complained for a solid 5 minutes about how annoying it's going to be to process the "Groupon" and a bunch of other bullsh*t, so.. that was kind of annoying. We didn't come here to hear about your problems doing your job.
Then it got worse when we asked to split the bill. Again, another 5 minutes of complaining. At one point we told her not to worry about it, and that we'll figure it out just so she would STOP COMPLAINING and leave us alone.
About the food? The french toast, isn't french toast. French toast is supposed to be crispy on the outside, and soft and moist on the inside. My french toast was stale, HARD, and dry throughout. The syrup couldn't even save this stuff. I made it through 1 slice before I gave up. It was too gross to finish.
The BF ordered a skillet with carnitas and eggs and potatoes. It was fairly standard. He enjoyed it, but nothing to rave about, and nothing you cant find at another diner. But he added that her constant complaining took away from his overall experience.
Our friend ordered a chicken fried steak, and was pleased, but added that the 30 minute wait did not justify the quality that, once again, can be found ANYWHERE.
So I understand if you grew up eating here, your nostalgia has you by the throat. But if you've never been here and you're curious, go ahead and feed your curiosity. But it's not worth a wait of more than 10 minutes. -
Review from Scott S.
I absolutely love their waffles! They serve these monstrous waffles folded over like a sandwich with cream cheese and a choice of berry jelly in the middle with a dusting of sugar on the top. It might sound really strange but the flavor and texture works so well together. Any time I am in the area,
The service is generally decent. The prices are on the more expensive side for breakfast. However, I'll live with it and make a point to keep coming here when I am in the area so i can have my Kickback Jack's waffle! -

Forget Dennys and IHop, it's ALL about Kickback Jack's (formally BC Cafe).
The menu is huge and so are the portions. I typically share with my daughter or hubby. We always try something new and order our standing favorite...the super stuffed French Toast with cream cheese and topped with Carmel and Pecans. It's kind of not on the menu, so beware of confused looks from your waitress.
Plus, the house coffee is fantastic! -
Review from Juan M.
Montclair, CA
Went here Friday morning for some breakfast. Had been about three years since I last came here, and its pretty much the same as it was three years ago, TOTALLY AWESOME!
I'm gonna keep it short and sweet. Food is good, portions are huge. You can share, if want to, but honestly, you NEED to, because that's how much food they serve you.
We ordered the Louisiana Hot Link Skillet, which consisted of tomato, onion, bell pepper, hot link, cheese and scrambled eggs (we ordered scrambled but you pick your egg preference) served over red potato home fries. Poured a little salsa over it, but didn't need it. Ordered ONE pancake, and the wife and I split that and were good to go till about dinner time.
My sister in law ordered the biscuits and gravy, and she said the biscuits were nice and fluffy, and gravy was good too. She likes hers a little chunky, but she said they were still good. My daughter had the pancakes with strawberry topping and she didn't complain.
When it comes to being seated, ask for Evelyn to be your server, she is a sweet heart! Very friendly, very talkative, and very attentive to your dining needs. I'd go back just to have a cup of coffee, just so I could shoot the shit with Evelyn. Don't call her mam though. Six years in the Corps and a good mama make me call every woman mam, and she wasn't too fond of it! LOL. Seriously though, one hell of a server that Evelyn is.
So to make my long story short, pretty much any thing you order is gonna be good. Portions are going to be big no matter what you order, so go hungry or go home (with leftovers). -

I went with my little brother and we got the skillet and a strawberry covered waffle.
The waffle was too sweet and the skillet needed more flavor.
service was good.... but we sat in the booths, so super quick.
the portion is gigantic (sharing recommended) !!!!
the food is too bland for me.... but if you put some tapatio/salsa it might be better lol. -

3.5 stars because I'm not a diner type of gal...this is a place for locals...especially on a sunday, there's always a wait!
the portions are huge. there's one waitress...not sure what her name is who can be somewhat impatient, so make sure you know what you want if you don't want to feel any sass coming from someone
