I've been going here for over three years and absolutely love it!! My eyebrows always look fabulous and it's quick and a great price.
I feel like I struck gold when I found this place. A friend told me about it. I had never heard of threading before. I will never go back to plucking or waxing and I will never go to another threading salon. I tried another threading place once in the beginning, but quickly learned that you can't beat Khoobsurat. The lady at the other place made me bleed and left stray hairs and it cost two dollars more. Not cool.
In the three plus years I have been coming to Khoobsurat I haven't once not liked my eyebrows. I just go in, tell them I need a clean up, make sure they put powder on first and rose water on after, and three minutes and $10 ($8 +tip) later, I have perfect eyebrows. If I go to one of my regular girls, I don't have to tell them anything. I wish I could remember the name of the girl who is my favorite. She is the owner's niece. She is really nice and always does a great job. I also like Hasina.
Some of the reviews mention attitude. I've been going here so long that I guess I never really thought about this. I have noticed lately, though that they aren't very welcoming. I walk in and nobody really acknowledges me, even though I've been going there every other week for three years. You'd think by now they would learn my name and say, "Hi Kerry, how are you?", but, no, nothing. The owner does give me a half-hearted smile once in a while, but other than that, nothing. I think I always just assumed it was cultural and didn't really care. I still think this place is great and I give them five stars, because they do such a great job on my eyebrows. Also, in regards to them only taking cash, I don't mind because I always have $10 on me, so it's no big deal.
In summary: This salon is amazing for getting your eyebrows threaded. Best bang for your buck around. I highly recommend Khoobsurat Threading Salon!!
I've been coming here for a few years, and I have to say that in the last six months or so, I've been becoming less and less enchanted with the place. The two pluses that have been leading me back here over and over are 1. convenient location and 2. relatively clean environment. ANd let me emphasize on the term relatively. Most threading places I've gone to have what I consider substandard levels of sanitation and cleanliness. And in the last few years, I'd say that Khoobsurat was better than other places I've been to. Don't know if it's because they moved to a new location or what, but the service hasn't been the same. And neither has the cleanliness. I went to get my brows threaded by Azin today. The girl i used to go to had started getting messy and inattentive while working on me, so i decided to try Azin. Azin gave me a great arch but when I went home, i realized she missed a few hairs here and there, and I had to touch up my brows with tweezers.
Two and-a-half stars for so-so workmanship and so-so cleanliness.

Azin is the best threader at this salon. She is extremely gentle and quick. My eyebrows always look great after shes done. However, on busy days when I do not have time to wait for the long line of clients waiting to see Azin, I have tried the other girls and I do not recommend them. Although the shape of my eyebrows generally turns out okay, I sometimes bleed or have scabs the next day. If you have sensitive skin like I do, stay clear of the other threaders and go to Azin.
Although I have been in the salon many times I have not noticed the arrogance of anyone in there unlike others who have reviewed this place.
Lastly, for those yelpers who have been complaining about price, it is only $8 dollars (and $2 tip). This is extremely cheap compared to places like the brow bar where it can come to over $20 for one eyebrow waxing. The price is well worth it.
I was really nervous to have my eyebrows threaded, period. I'd had it done once before when I was in my teens and I had a really bad reaction because my skin can be pretty sensitive and my cousin was still learning the process. I finally decided to go because I have these outrageous mind-of-their-own Indian eyebrows that are just so time-consuming to pluck. My sister recommended this place so I thought I'd stop by.
First, only $8 for eyebrows - I thought that was great deal. Second, the girl who did my eyebrows was SUPER quick and while it did STING, it was so quick that I barely noticed. My eyebrow area was a little puffy for about an hour, but then all was well. Not long-term swelling. No irritation or little bumps. No bleeding! I am a very happy camper and I will be going back today!!
On a side note - my sister had told me there are three people here who thread - a mom with unnatural blond hair, her daughter and a third woman. She only recommends the mom and daughter - I had the daughter. Apparently, the third woman is kind of a disaster.
Oh and since my visit was so quick, I didn't have time to judge anyone's attitudes or personalities. They were all friendly to me in the short time I was there.
I have gone here for over 5 years - started when they were in that awful little cramped salon by Kohl's down the street. This is the only place I go to have my eyebrows done - and I always get compliments on them! I've never had a problem with them making my eyebrows too thin or uneven.
Just make sure you get one of the experienced girls - Sona or something. The girls just learning go too slow and I can't stand that!
The price is excellent, and I don't get all red or break out, which happens when I get my eyebrows waxed. Not sure I would go here to have any body waxing done, but definitely for eyebrows, I think it's the best!
AWFUL...DOWNRIGHT AWFUL!!! i wasn't as lucky as others who got one of the good ladies (Azim) to work on them...I sadly had the arrogant owner who:
1. pushes u into sitting down
2. says "hold"
3. when done and u say oh?? they r round!!i wanted an arch? she says "not possible now"
of course its not possible now...u ninny....argh
Go to Naz....ask for Ruby...at least she always says hi, how are you doing...and asks you what u'd like to get done. also, as u sit down and she puts nice soft powder on with a cotton ball, she actually has a convo about ur eye brows, wat shape they r in, and u tell her do this do that..she'll listen!!!
and, even though she prefers cash, lets say ur short or got nothing less than a 20, she has no probs saying "its ok pay me next time" ...wat a sweetheart
so yeah, just rem..the above was about Naz...this place...yuck..as hellish as they come..just don't go here
Alright so I have to admit - this place is good and I like it.
I recently went to get my legs waxed. I made an appt, just incase there were a flood of ppl and I didn't want to wait around for 20-30mins.
I went before they had a whole new salon - when it was a salon+ saree store so it was a little cramped and stuffy - because of that I had to take-off 1 star. There was your usual waxing room, but someone else was in there getting a facial and massage in the same room - because of that I had to take off another star. Luckily the lady had cucumber slices on her eyes - otherwise I'd have to leave.
My favorite waxing lady is Hasina - she got me situated and in less than 15mins I was out the door - this is a full leg wax - including getting the lil hairs. NOW THATS SERVICE!!!! :) Unfortunately they are still a CASH ONLY place.

Hasina knows how to wax and knows how to temper the wax....however the sad part is that other ladies-no privacy or discretion-barged in and out of my room while I was being waxed!!!!! I know its not Hasina's fault but for customer privacy issues -no one except the waxing lady should be in the room with her client!!!! Imagine if you were getting something more private waxed?!?!? I would have to call the BBB.
I will go again - but make sure i tell Hasina I don't like that the other girls barging in during my apt.

I get it that the mother/daughter team is kind of obnoxious and sometimes even hilarious, but Azin is AWESOME. I only go to this place because of Azin and ignore all of the other intricacies of the place.
Azin always does a great job with my eyebrows and for $8 you can beat the price elsewhere. When you go in just make sure you ask for Azin and just wait a couple of minutes for her. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED !!!
I've been going to Azin for the last couple of years, she doesn't rush and is really, really good. No scabs or cuts or uneven eyebrows. She is even very good at fixing any mess ups from when I went to some of the others since she wasn't available. one star less because the place doesn't take CC, and there isn't an ATM close by.
I never once came out with even brows, never once was treated kindly, and never once will be back! I tried every threading person there. I was never satisfied. And, the place is pretty much filthy. Nobody ever asked me what I wanted, they all just tell me to "hold" and start ripping out my hair!
The biggest EWWW was that------------------Nobody ever used the antibacterial gel before touching my face.
I finally switched back to waxing and now use the Wax Bar in Campbell.
This place made me a threading convert. I always ask for Azin because I don't trust any of the other ladies because my friend who referred me told me to never go to them.. they're just not as good. I'm always satisfied when I leave and the 10$ I spent was worth it. (8 + tip)
I would give it less if possible.
As a long time eyebrow threading fan (I don't do my eyebrows any other way), I love the high an eyebrow well done can give you. I've had a couple of botched jobs over the years but they were always willing to correct it.
The reason Khoobsurat gets such a low mark is cos of the attitude they gave me after botching up my eyebrows. It was my first time threading in the bay area and I was trying to be happy with whatever I got. But I came out with really uneven eyebrows. (My left was so much thinner than my right) When my mom saw that and requested that something be done to even it out, the girl who provided the service was so rude.
She claimed that my eyebrows were uneven to begin with (I've never had this complaint from anyone else) and that she did the best she could do. My mother said please just try and make the right one thinner. and the girl says she will not do it because she didn't want it on her hands if it gets worse.
I had to resort to going home and plucking my right eyebrow to shape it to match. At least it was correctable.
Such bad service doesn't even deserve a star.
4 stars bc where can you get your eyebrows threaded for $8 and upper lip for $5....but then again I'm a newbie at this.
My first time threading and I felt that my eyebrows were a little thin and the upper lip part brought tears to my eyes. Thank goodness for a friend holding my hand through this and taking only 3 minutes.
The mother daughter team told me that I should tell them if I want thicker eyebrowns next time. So I will be growing out my eyebrows and sporting the Care Bear look for the next 2.5 months and going back.
Well I droppped by on Sunday because I desperately needed a mini make over. LOL . I think it was pretty decent. I liked the salon. Its very clean and neat. I didnt like the fact that I wasnt greeted upon entering. I just sat down while the busy ladies threaded away and stared at me from time to time. I was finally seen by a young lady she didnt ask me anything or my opinion on what Id like for my brows. She just went to work. As for the results it was okay. I would say it took them 2-3 mins to do my brows, It definately looks clean and pretty even, but nothing spectacular. If it was more convienent Id go to Deepa. I would come back due to the location and clean salon.
I don't have a huge beauty routine..but my eyebrows are a must. After a few mishaps, I've learned not to trust just anyone with them! I've tried tweezing and waxing, but I can never duplicate the perfect arch
(and compliments) I get from threading.
I've been in the bay area for a few months and my sister recommended Khoobsurat Threading Salon to me. So far so good. The service is great with convenient late hours (open till 8 p.m),and price is decent for California I suppose..($8).
The only thing to note is that they are closed on Mondays and while the actual threading takes less than 5-10 minutes, you might have to be patient..a lot of women want their eyebrows done!
What I do while I'm waiting is look through their collection of beauty products and Indian formal wear-Lenghas, Salwar Kameez, Saris..
I'm happy!
Very exotic to have one's eyebrows done with a technique that has obviously been around for thousands of years. (Yeah I'm sure Cleopatra did it) The attendant stands with the thread around her fingers and clenched between her teeth. Winding lightly, she uses the intersection of the two strands to trap hair and lift it out at the follicle. Apparently less painful than tweezing and less damaging than waxing.
THIS RATING IS BASED ON THE SALON ITSELF; BUT AZEEM GETS A 5...first of all.. worse customer service, the owner herself also does beautician work.. she is just straight demanding, rude, and over confident. Not to friendly with her staff, overly charge. Must agree, small place, not so clean, have to agree on the fact they dont clean your face before doing eyebrows, but they did clean my eyebrows after they were done with some toner or some sort.
I have to say this though, Ive been to alot of eyebrow ladies, and some are good and bad. But at this place if you want good eyebrows, only see AZEEM. i went to her from a reference of 2 different people. and little hesitant first but VERY HAPPY after she was done. Just hope she stays this good next time i go. I would only let her do it, even if i have to wait. no one else..
i dont know what other people are talking about. i had both raman and sona ji do my eyebrows and they were really nice to me and both put sanitizer on their hands before working on me and also did a great job on my eyebrows! they are more expensive than place in toronto and so on but they are right on par with places in this area. it was 13$ for both eyebrows and upper lip. i live in burlingame so i love my little excursions out to sunnyvale. i pick up a cd of the latest bollywood movie, get some eyebrow action and if its a weekend i get some fresh sugar cane juice at india cash and carry....if there was a good chaat place around my day would be made!
1. too expensive. 8 dollars for eyebrows? my cousin in canada gets hers done for like 3. i do more than just my eyebrows so i'm spending 30+ at times.
2. they are closed on mondays. usually, the days i'd like to get my eyebrows done are on mondays. soo i normally have to get waxed at some other place.
3. they are all very nice. raman & haseena are my favorites. i haven't seen shefali act snobby yet. but i do understand why people dislike her so much. but she isn't that bad; well with me she isn't. raman is very quiet. unlike shefali, she does her job and chit chats less. && haseena waxs very nicely. she makes sure you walk out of the salon clean.
as for threading, they do a very good job. they always shape my eyebrows nicely. and fast too.
4. it is pretty nasty getting waxed and then having people walk in & out.. or seeing another client. they did get a new salon. soo i'm not sure if they have changed that.
5. salon is clean.
Yes Puja..I too had the same experience..very arrogant staff, Misusing the customers patience. Staffs don't have even the basic manners, least bothered towerds the custumrs. I have got full scar marks on the fore head.
