i've been to some great parties here. but then again, i've been to some terrible parties here. and then again again, its a motel for godsakes. remember high school with them bathtubs full of booze and ice? i miss being young. fuck life.

edit: my review didn't do the place justice. huge suite. denny's. kids puking off balconies. people having sex in the bathroom. and more than anything...well, i'll just paste my bff laura v's review:

"5 stars for accidentally going to a party here where a 15 or 16 year old kid spiked some punch with something like 20 hits of acid.  i've never seen such chaos.  no one there was over 18, and they were all either puking, laying in their own puke, tripping out, or freaking out.  just TOOOOOO cute!  like little baby cherubs."

guess i forgot about that amazing night.

The price is usually around $50 a night, you get what you pay for. The second night is 25% off. You get a discount if you have AAA, but sometimes they'll do it for you anyways.

Nonsmoking room often smells like cigarretts; if you're lucky you get one that doesn't. Cable TV and Internet (pretty slow). The sheets and pillows are okay. No fridge (unless you pay more). The pool is tiny. The complex is okay. The heater in the room smells bad when you turn it on. The bathroom and sink are clean. The shower head pressure was too strong for my liking. Free parking.

Not the best, but it's cheap.

Looking for a cheap place to stay? Well, if you're not fussy about what the place has to offer, then perhaps Key Inn & Suites will suffice. Family members flocked to town for grandpa's funeral so this was one of the places people stayed at. Basically, for $53 (before tax) what do you expect? You get a small room with your basic stuff like the TV. To me it's along the lines of a Motel 6 or Days Inn and even so it was pushing it.

If I was staying overnight only, maybe I could deal with this place. However, if you're undergoing a stressful situation, perhaps a nicer place would help ease the tension and relax you a bit.

Not my first choice (or second choice, or third choice for that matter) by any means, but seriously, there's not much around this area to begin with and for the price, it doesn't get much better than Key Inn.

I was in Southern California for a job interview and I needed a place to stay close to the UCI campus. I found Key Inn on http://Hotels.com, their rates are competitive so it was what I went with. Including taxes I paid $62 for the night. The complex was ok, I didn't have time to check out the pool or anything.

My room was fine, very simple. The TV had 20 channels, the bathroom was a little small. The sink was fine. The bed was ok, the sheets were cheap as were the pillows. But it was clean and I really appreciate that given what I was paying. The hotel is literally right off interstate-5 so it was very easy to find. And it was a short and direct 15 min drive to the Irvine Campus. Also five minuets away down El Camino Real and its intersection with Jamboree there is a huge commercial shopping area with some nice places.

I couldn't get the free wireless internet to work, the signal was too weak in my room.

The area didn't feel dangerous but at the same time it wasn't a luxurious neighborhood.

There is a Denny's next door, if you eat that sort of stuff.

I'd recommend this place to someone who was going to the Irvine area and wanted a cheap place in a convenient location.

3 stars because it is what it is, and you get what you pay for. I'd have given it 4 if the wireless had worked.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place.  $50 gets you a lot around here.  One reviewer mentioned that it'd be pushing it to call it a Motel 6, but I think it might even be a step up from that.  Everything in the room worked and, while it was bare bones, everything seemed to be clean and in good condition.  The shower was really clean and the shower head was unclogged.  The sheets were nice.  The room was just nice in general.  You get a lot more than you pay for.

lol, i remember a LONG time ago one of my family members stayed here and found a needle under the bed. Man this place is ghetto, but it is SUPER cheap, so if getting some kinda disease or sleeping in seamen doesn't bother you much go for this place. I think you can also get a room without a credit card here...so i guess that's a perk for certain situations.
