I love them, The place is a damn sty, but I have been digging the burgers. I am HARD on a restuarant, due to the fact im a big boy and fat boys love to eat!!! I also used to own a restuarant as well. I fear getting sick from this joint, but I have been there 5-6 times. The 'convict" waitresses are always really nice, "teardrop" is really down home and I have had ZERO problems. I didnt know there was a bar, but I dont drink, unless theres titty im not too interested. I always have the 2 burgers, as well as the eggs and hash browns, and that fills me up. Lea and Perrins for the burgers is a GREAT touch! A1 on the tables too? and they use Hellmans mayo!!!
The night cook, some mexican guy is the bomb, I been there all 3 shifts and that overnight hispanic is the BOMB!
DONT let me being comical within this review make you think for a second, its bad!!!
I dont know much else, but i have to say, for great cost effective nice and full tummy. With FRESH burgers made to order, Check this joint out!
Better yet smoke one and pig out at kevins!!
Solid burgers, non frozen... 24 hours... drink specials?
I can't believe I'm only giving it 3 stars, especially having witnessed the saturday karoake, but the bar service was turrrrrrible.
Then again, a man called roscoe drinking a bucket of Miller Genuine while watching "Sleeping with the Enemy" who suddenly stands up at karoake to sing 'tie a yellow ribbon'.
It CAN be magical.
Kevin's is a ghetto trip! I wouldnt ever come here, expect my work is across the street and its the closest place to get lunch. I've resisted ever ordering from here, until today, my boss asked me if i wanted to do lunch. So we walked across western blvd. and western ave. to have lunch INSIDE Kevin's.
First off- How many of you can say that you've had a waitress with the tear drop tattoo ON THEIR FACE? My waitress did, which i think means that she has killed somebody!! Almost all the waitresses had crazy tattoos, and deep rugged voices which can only be earned through many many years of smoking.
2nd- They had a burger special 2 for 5, so my boss and I got them, they weren't badnt! The meat was a big charrrred, but thats okay, the buns were toasted and fluffy. It was a pretty good burger.
3rd- The decor and layout of the place, makes you feel like you are on a stake out. We sat in a booth next to giant windows, which had the perfect view of some shaddy motel like building. Every counter surface of this place is covered in a "classy" fake dark gray marble. with glittery red vinyl on the seats. It's very strange and i could easily be nice, if they cleaned the place.
I may come back....but only if i can get my murder waitress.
Kevin's Hamburger Hell? Although I do love the bar here (GREAT specials and really nice bartenders) the restaurant area and the food are gross. I have gotten sick twice now after eating here and even though I thought it might have been from the grease I eat at Donald's / Duk's all the time and they are much greasier. The only appeal is it being open 24 hours a day and it is walkable from my house. And the karaoke... SO GOOD.
Kevin's has decent, greasy hamburgers at any hour. They even serve liquor now. The food is really inexpensive. They also have karaoke on the weekends, although I have not been there to witness it.
