5-star photography from a 5-star person. Kevin is not only a great photographer, he is also very involved with people around him, his community. As a wedding photographer myself I am proud to call him a good friend!

Photography was great - but he charges an arm and leg for prints of the photos.  The bride & groom may be okay to pay the fee for the wedding - after all, it's good photography, no argument with that.  But grandma & grandpa and your cousins from downstate are expected to pay $9.50 for a single 4x6 photo, making the photography out of reach for many of your guests... keep that in mind because when the pictures everyone's been looking forward to go online, they're in for a nasty surprise.  Whether or not this is comparable to what other fancy photographers charge, I don't know, but I think it's insane to charge that much for a print after taking your original fee.

Contrary to popular belief, I was born a woman... okay, I was born a girl and then the woman thing happened a bit later but the point I'm trying to make is that that pesky little rumor about being born a man is false (See also: Erroneous, Unfounded, Bogus). Scouts Honor.

Wait, No! That wasn't the point I was trying to make at all but you see, sometimes my attention deficit gets the best of me and I find myself somewhat to very sidetracked. The point I was trying to make is that despite being a person of the female persuasion, I'm almost totally apathetic (See Also: Heartless, Phlegmatic, Reticent) when it comes to marriage, commitment, blabbity blabbity. I mean, I wouldn't say that I'm afraid of commitment, because I ain't afraid of sh*t ... spiders excluded from that vast sweeping statement... but I'm probably the toughest person you'll ever meet. No joke, I'll punch a mutha f*ckin' shark in the face... and I don't even care if he's wearing glasses. But something about the idea of being with someone forever is just a little daunting, no?

Sidebar: I had the serendipitous fortune of meeting Kevin Weinstein as he was the photographer at the wedding of a friend of mine. Well, not *exactly* meet... you see, he's so good that we never actually saw him during the ceremony or reception but greatly admired (See Also: Revered, Applauded, Venerated) the final photos from that day. Thinking back on all the weddings I've been attending, this is the only one where the photographer moving about wasn't a distraction from the ceremony and reception. You literally didn't see him at all and then a few weeks later you see these captivating and candid photos that you would have never guessed had taken place without your knowing. I guess that's a true sign of a great photographer.

Almost a year later, my BF and I had just celebrated our 6 year anniversary and had the opportunity to shoot some photos with Kevin on a beautiful June day. Kevin was professional yet not at all stuffy and it was simply impossible to feel uncomfortable around him. We shot at various super secret locations that made all our photos look very 'Chicago', uber unique, and oh so us... or at least, what we'd like to think of ourselves as... and isn't that what you really want?

In the days before our photo shoot, the BF and I came to refer to it as our "Mock Engagement" shoot... which initially gave me a little commitment freak out rash, but once we took the photos and saw some of Kevin's completed favorite shots of us, I felt at peace. And dare I say, even got (and may still have) a bit of wedding fever (See Also: Googling Engagement Rings, Planning a Wedding Soundtrack, and Freaking Out Over How Much a Wedding Would Actually Cost). Imagine that. 26 years old and I still say 'BF' instead of 'Boyfriend' because it makes me uncomfortable and one look at Kevin's photos and I'm a big blubbering baby.

We've now been in possession of our photos for exactly one week and as I sit here I've decided to admit that I look through them at least twice a day, everyday. I love my man, I love how we look together, I love how we are together, I love the spirit that was captured, I love everything about every.single.photo, and I love Kevin for capturing us in that light. Truly, when I see these photos it makes me hear music that isn't playing... for srsly, Cat Power's 'The Greatest' is streaming in my mind rightthisveryinstant.

In short, one look at Kevin's photos made this relatively cold hearted woman (who was once rumored to be a man) into a quivering lipped, *almost* in tears, sentimental sucker who now totally gets that Bowie line in Labyrinth "It's Only Forever, Not Long At all". ...Maybe I actually could do a stint in the forever realm.

Kevin is beyond Brilliant (See Also: Gifted, Ingenious, Boundlessly Talented) and should we ever take the plunge, he'll be our man... if he'll have us.

Kevin is an award winning photographer that specializes in photojournalistic wedding pictures.  I love his work.  I met with him when I was looking for a photographer for my wedding.

He was very personable and easy going.  A former newspaper photographer, his work is edgy and amazing.

We selected Kevin Weinstein Photography for our wedding. We ended up doing a 2hr 'engagement session' downtown with Kevin and our wedding was photographed by Sally Ryan.  The engagement pics turned out great, I'm not disappointed at all. The day we had our pics it was slightly hazy, so the background have a old feeling, we were crisp and clearly the subject.
I haven't seen my reception pics yet, but I'd be shocked if I'm disappointed. Sally was awesome, she is so cute and just floating everywhere taking pics of everyone.

Their style is photo journalistic. My engagement pics looked magazine quality, full of color and great composition. I can't wait for the reception pics.

Kevin is awesome!! I booked Kevin for my wedding over a year ago and have been so excited about things ever since.  We did our engagement session with him in April and the pictures were great.  I can't wait to see our wedding photos....

Kevin is super easy to work with. He's friendly and organized and he's pretty funny too :).  I will update this review once I receive my wedding pictures but I suspect that I'll be just as happy.

Kevin is brilliant!  In my first glimpse of his website (which resulted in actual tears), I knew I had to book him as our wedding photographer.  I think he was caught a little off guard that I wanted to meet with him over 1.5 years in advance, but I promise he was worth it.

Meeting with him completely reinforced my feelings on how special he truly is.  His charm and style put you instantly at ease, which allows you to forget about the camera and completely be yourself.  Working with him was a blast, but the results he produced were beyond my wildest dreams.  You don't really get the impact of how talented this guy is until you see YOURSELVES (and your dear friends & family members) in those beautiful shots.

Our June 2009 wedding was made all the more special by the moments Kevin captured while we were too busy enjoying being newlyweds!

When my fiance and I began planning our wedding it was important to us that our vendors were not only talented, but that they were fun, caring individuals who we could see ourselves being buddies with in our non-wedding life. We would be spending a lot of our time with these people, we had to be able to openly communicate with them and we were going to give them a lot of our hard earned money...needless to say we wanted to genuinely like them, and boy did we like Kevin. It's easy to view a photographers website and agree that you like or dislike their aesthetic, but it's another thing to hit it off with someone from the second you meet.

We first met Kevin in his home office and were immediately impressed with his fabulous apartment and professionalism...and all his fancy equipment! I'm not a photographer so I can't tell you what it all exactly does, but I do know that it made for some killer wide angle shots of the chapel and for lighting that made each image look like it was shot in a surreal alternate wedding world where a bad picture was impossible to take. It was apparent that he had great taste and an air of excitement within him, both important qualities for great photos. As soon as we left that initial meeting we knew Kevin was our perfect match.

Kevin was always available to talk throughout the planning process and promptly responded to all my e-mails. Everything we discussed together had an undertone of ease to it, so when the big day came I had not a worry in my mind that he would do a fantastic job. Our photos were personal, in the moment, and gorgeous...everything I wanted. Every time I look at them I'm sucked back in to that moment and all the emotions of that day come rushing back to me. It's just what I need to get over my wedding version of postpartum. Besides our cloudy memories these images are all we have left from that day and Kevin made sure those moments were captured and there for us to cherish forever. I can't tell you how many people looked at them and said to me that they were the "best wedding photos they'd ever seen". They are modern, artistic and beautifully framed. I can't wait to hang them up all over my house so I can be reminded of that day each time I walk by one of Kevin's thoughtful photos.

Jon and I got married in October 2009 and we couldn't be happier with our photography choice. If you're looking for something different and creative, kevin weinstein is a great choice. He's easy to work with and we were amazed when our pictures came out because he blended right in with the ceremony and reception. Our pictures are beautiful and we get compliments all the time. Well worth the investment. We definitely plan to use Kevin for future milestones. Thanks Kevin
