They're fine. Open seriously long hours, and can do a same day or next day or something for cleaning. I can't think of a lot of cleaners that both do that and are open for a substantial amount of hours on sunday.
I do think they may have over-starched one of my shirts and they are definitely average priced (except for tuxedo suits which was like $5 with pants and shirt), but same day/next day? I'll take it.
I went here with a semi alteration crisis yesterday and they said they could alter a dress shirt for me. i ended up paying 30 bucks and it took them 4 hours. When i got it back, IT WAS SEWN UNEVEN! They refused to resolve the issue and the manager was no help. Yelpers Beware!
This is a HORRIBLE place to get your dry cleaning done (I would not give even 1 star). I dropped off my pea coat on 10/10 to have it dry cleaned. It is 1 Nov and finally it has been cleaned as it should have been three weeks ago but my coat looks like it has been shaved and now has some bald spots. Basically all they initially did was put a plastic cover on it and hang it. If I did not take the initiative to check it before I left I would have left with the same uncleaned coat. When I finally went for the fourth time to pick it up (all other times it was not ready or still uncleaned), the African American male with glasses and mustache told me "you have to appreciate we delinted it for you" as you can imagine I was outraged at his ignorant comment to me. So I told him "I have to thank you for doing your frekin job!" he replied "WHATEVER" "you need to be thankful" and said "good nite" (2pm by the way) I have never encountered such awful, disrespectful and worthless service in every aspect. Do not give these people your business because I tried getting my money back the first time and was denied so that is the only reason I left my coat that long there to be cleaned.
I won't deny that they do a decent job cleaning clothes and their prices are tough to beat. That said, their service sucks so bad that I wouldn't go back to them.
I went in to pick up an order. I didn't have all my tickets. The guy "helping" me not only couldn't be bothered to assist, he was hostile to me. Yup, he told me it was all my fault and there really wasn't much he could do. I actually argued with him for a couple minutes until the manager came by and tried to diffuse the situation. Except he also was giving me attitude.
Finally they looked in their computer and found the missing ticket, got the rest of my order, and that was that. No apology, no discount, no nothing...except losing a customer!
Pretty middle of the road here.
I get some dry cleaning done. it's decent. Kinda expensive on the tailoring/alterations.
Prices recently went up. Not bad for the price, though.
This is the WORST cleaner ever. I would give ZERO stars. I went to drop off my pants to get tailored and the beast of a woman behind the counter said they would have to charge me for cleaning because there was some cat hair on the pants. Then she proceede to tell me that they didn't want to do it because there was cat hair and that I should get a lint roller. Seriously there was like one or two peices of fur. The woman was just rude. I told her I would take my business elsewhere, and that is just what I am doing. They have continuously been rude to me and this was the final straw not to mention that they loose items and they jack stuff up.

Updated review. DO NOT GO HERE FOR TAILORING. I had dropped my husbands suit off to pick it up on… Read more »
Prepayment only with cash or check which is inconvenient. Be sure to have cash or a check with you. Service is awful. Took cleaning in for same day service on a Saturday morning, was told to arrive after 5 same day to pick up. Weren't ready or even in the store. Saw ticket actually said middle of following week. I now have no clothes for work Monday morning, and had to actually go buy a new suit to have something. Beware!! Look at your ticket before you leave to see pickup time. They tell you anything if you're asking for "same day service," but it will not match your ticket. Will never return as a customer here.
I am very happy with the care and attention the staff at Kenny's have shown me. I came for the price, of course, but they do such a good job with the laundry and drycleaning.
I used to take my stuff to a place in Northbrook, where I work, but I was paying $60-80. At Kenny's, it's between $20 and 30. You can't beat that with a stick (against a rock, which is how I understand they used to clean clothes years ago, but I digress...)
Eh. So/so. I have been bringing am armful of clothes there every other week or so for about a year. The prices recently went up and they seem to have become lax in their dry cleaning efforts to remove treated red wine stains. They've done a super job in the past, so I dunno what gives.
Also, I have a mid-length wool jacket that need a the lining repaired. It's ripped only along the seems in two places. The 'seamstress' (ahem) said it would have to be replace for $90.00!!!!!! Can you imagine that? I'm an old broad and I've had that coat going on 20 years. 90 bucks - peeshaw I say.
There is a little place at the corner of California and Lunt I hear does excellent dry cleaning and inexpensive, comprehensive repair work.
Gonna hafta check 'em out soon.
We moved up to Rogers Park in March, after a year in Edgewater, and 7 years before that in Lakeview. Good drycleaners are hard to come by. My old boss lives off Howard and he recommended Kenny the Kleener for its price, service, and overall solid-ness. The price is HALF what we were paying on Devon while in Edgewater and HALF what we were paying on Broadway. They're quick, cheap, and friendly. Definitely recommended.
I tried Kenny the Kleener based on a recommendation from a colleague. I had been going to another local dry cleaner that is much more expensive. I really like Kenny the Kleener's because they are cheap and fast. I've gone there on numerous occasions and have not been disappointed with the quality that I get back. They just repaired a zipper on a pair of jeans and did a great job. I usually let them return my clothes when they want (a couple of days), but I've had them do next day service and it's the same price.
Awesome cleaners. Cheap, courteous, and they do a nice job. Just about everything is $1.75They even brush the doggie hairs off of my black coat. The best part is that they are open on Sunday! I drop stuff off on Friday after work and it is done by Saturday at 4:00. But if I forget to pick it up on Saturday I can get it on Sunday. Right next to the Gateway Center where Dominick's and Bally's are.
