Currently " The absolute shittiest diner in the United States of America" (http://www.freewilliam...)
Kellogg's is currently undergoing renovations, I hope they renovate the food while they are at it. It's not even good when you're drunk.

Oh please, this place has the worst food in Brooklyn. Late night it feels like a high school cafeteria, crowded with drunk, rowdy, club kids. Dont trouble yourself, many better options in the area...

This place is the hottest, most exclusive new club in brooklyn.
Wait, hang on, am i really talking about kellogg's diner? Oh, that's right, i am.
I took a cab here, after 4am, with a friend of mine. We tried to open the door to the main entrance, and the big, burly, black bouncer at the door said, "We're closed." That's right, a bouncer. My friend looked at me like i'd led her astray. But i used to live right around here, so i knew the scoop. "Don't worry, babe, they're 24/7." I looked inside. "And, uh, they're PACKED." More people came by, and the bouncer turned them away. Another big, burly, black bouncer, this one with gold caps on his teeth, came to the door and gave the "We're closed; go away" signal that he'd been training on since grade school.
As one of the eight people now standing incredulously outside the diner, i gave the "No way; you're 24 hours and you're BUSTLING" hand signals that i made up on the spot, tossing a few of the more established "Loco" and "You must be smoking some good stuff" signs into the mix as improvisation.
The owner came out. "We're full," he said. We offered to wait (inside; it was cold), but no. "Come back some other time," he suggested, and returned inside. But shortly thereafter, a booth cleared up. "Okay, three people can come in," a bouncer claimed. I found myself thinking how fortunate it was that i had a girl with me; a group of guys might have been held back. I brought another gender-balanced couple, whom we'd been waiting with, and we shared the booth.
Now, i've sampled a good bit of the kellogg's menu over time, and it's pretty average diner fare. Not great, not terrible, and the service has never been anything to write home about. The big attraction has always been the idea that it's open 24/7, and back in the day, it was my 4am mainstay. But now, it looks like i'll have to rethink my after-hours williamsburg breakfast strategy, since i'm obviously not chic enough to guarantee admission.
This place is good in theory but comes short in practice. When I go to a diner I don't expect the greatest food but there are some diners that have the ability to produce a pretty good meal on a regular basis. Kellogg's is OK, the food sometimes leaves a little to be desired though. I can't really pinpoint where they go wrong though. Some highlights are: breakfast, it's pretty standard; burgers, pretty good. As other people said it's a good place when you're hungry at 4AM.

Oooh, im a little iffy bout this place, depending on what ya get and when you go its either awesome or disgusting.
I like to go for breakfast, 9-11am the eggs take u to yummy city!!! Plus they all ways have whole wheat toast, which is rare for some diners. If ya go after lunch try the chicken salad wrap, the chicken taste like....omg chicken!!! (all of the wraps are yum O)
Ok the place is open 24/7 so thats a plus, ya can take your drunk ass in there at 4am, and grab a burger, but i wouldn't, last time i got red meat there is smelled like wet cat, and tasted like sweat and sadness.
The other thing i don't like bout this place is the high volume of coppers, not that im waiting round singing Cop Killa, BUT, when im obviously drunk off my wobbley ass i feel like their stare'n at me just waiting to haul me off to the big house lol.
To sum up... Yes to breakfast n lunch foods...No to red meat, and dont go if ya got warrants yo!

Typical diner, but a good meet up spot with reasonably priced food 24/7. They also don't try to force you out immediately during breakfast hours on the weekend like other diners. Still, the cheese on the cheeseburger leaves something to be desired.
Like many Brooklynites (especially those of us who often find ourselves headed home on the G train), Kellogg's has long been my standby Williamsburg diner.
Until now. I dropped by after one of the McCarren Park Pool Party concerts this summer and found their prices have at least doubled over the last 6 months (my bill came to well over $10 for an order of fried mozzarella sticks and a coke!). I'm sure it's a rent thing; they're sitting on prime real estate. It's also partially a market thing -- a lot of people who hang out in Williamsburg nowadays are either sheep who will pay any price because It's Williamsburg, or trustafarians who apparently don't know or care that diner food is supposed to be cheap.
It's really sad when you can have a real cheese plate over at Roebling Tea Room for about the same price as a soggy plate of fried mozzarella sticks at a gritty old diner up the block...

I love this diner for the reliable greasy diner food and the convenience of being close to the L stop. Totally cheap and open 24 hours. One of the arguments to move near the Lorimer stop. I also enjoy the trash talk between me and the wait staff. an authentic diner experience, just like my diners in Chicago.
Ok. So a late night diner is ... a late night diner. Not the best food, but you like it because you're doing the whole 4am diner thing. But this place... does not even meet the standards of what a late night diner should be. The food is really really gross-- I'm talking fried chicken strips, with no chicken in them. Service is slow and bad. Theres a lot of other places still open and serving food at 4am that are comparable price and way better.
Boo! I had high hopes for this place.

I ate breakfast here-eggs, bacon, potatoes, toast, juice. It was fine. I've had better, but this was cheap and fast, so no complaints from me!
id be generous to say this is an average diner, but when open 24 hours and easy to find right off the L train i had to give them 3 stars. they are cash only, so dont say i didnt warn you.
ok, so in no way shape or form do they have the best service. They don't kiss your grits. The food is only ok. The prices are decent, but that's not why people go there anyway. Look, it's right next to the train, and it's open all night long. They'll let you sit there forever waiting for a friend drinking their bad diner coffee as you get frustrated (again) that cell phones don't work underground. When you want a good old fashioned don't-give-a-shit how hip you are place to eat, go here.
Right off the Lorimer L stop, Kellogg's Diner is conveniently located and open 24 hours (something that's surprisingly hard to find in "the city that never sleeps" ). When I hear "diner" I don't think 5 star cuisine, but if you want decent reasonably priced food at any time of day or night, Kellogg's is an excellent bet. I was thrilled to see that it's actually decorated like a diner... for some reason this is another thing that's hard to find. When I hear "diner" I don't think of really cheaply decorated versions of higher end restaurants... I think obnoxiously colored tables and booths and tacky mirrors covering the walls. Kellog's has it covered. The place screams diner through and through.
You may want to hold it if you have to use the bathroom, though, theirs is little better than what you would find in a gas station. Bar soap in public places is pretty poor taste, in my opinion.
*Edit: I just remembered to add: If you're like me and cold all the time, BRING A SWEATER! I don't know if we were seated by the ac duct or what, but I was freezing. Although Ryan, who wears t-shirts in the winter, was comfortable.

I've never had better fries this side of the nation. They are perfectly golden, toasty and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. These taste best when ordered with cheese. I think the oil is probably seasoned with a deliciously mysterious additive--similar to how McDonald's used to cook theirs with some type of meat flavoring. (Vegans, you know better than to eat here.) Who knows, I might actually be consuming saturated trans fats flavored with things (or actions) we don't discuss in public. But what I don't know won't kill me today.
P.S. The obscene number of stars pertains to fries only as I am too afraid to have anything else.
P.P.S. Bar soap in the restroom is never a good thing.
P.P.P.S. Please don't do an Dateline show on this place.

You are all fools. The only thing that could make this place better would be if you could smoke in here.
Chain smoke, even. AND let the ashes fall into your pale, pale burger "for flavor, hunny".

Being a native Long Islander, the first thing I did when I moved here was to find that 'local' diner, to just sit and enjoy some endless coffee over diner fare.
This diner doesn't even fare as a diner. I would say it be best described as an elementary school cafeteria. The food was never good, despite ordering anything from eggs, to chicken salad, to a burger. I mean, how can you screw up an egg??
Just awful. Don't eat here unless you are dying. Better off grabbing a snickers bar from the front bodega area and rummaging through the fridge when you get home.

Neither really good nor really bad, Kellogg's is a mainstay -- but best for survival food only, perhaps. I've walked by many a time but have never eaten here, but yesterday, C. and I stopped by for a midday snack. Some might have called it lunch, but I'd just eaten brunch, so it was kind of a non-meal.
C. got a hamburger, which was good in the basic way that hamburger's need to be. it came with onion rings for $1 extra, and those were good, she said. I wanted half a grapefruit, but they didn't have any. So I got the fruit salad. The fruit -- watermelon, musk melon, and such -- is cut into really big chunks. I'd be sure to ask whether it's fresh. Mine tasted a little off, and I didn't eat a lot.
When the waitress brought us our bill, I told her she might want to try the fruit salad because it tasted funny. Without my prompting her, she went to take the fruit salad off the ticket. Not a bad reaction to what I didn't even voice as a major concern.

C'mon people, why such low ratings? IT'S A 24-HOUR DINER. What did you expect?
I've been a few times. Mostly while intoxicated and on the way home from the bars. Its never been bad. I've gotten something different every time and it has always been tasty enough for me to finish, albeit I will honestly eat just about anything when I am hungry and drunk.
But still - standard diner food for a standard diner patron. I'm giving it 4 stars in relative terms - its a decent spot for a 24-hour diner.

OK - i must state in advance - I have yet to be here sober.
But when you are around Bedford and drinking - this is the best way to end the night.
If you want a burger, grilled cheese, or pancakes - all are available at 4am... but just note - everrything tastes better when you have been drinking for 6 hours before then... so I dont know how much you will like it mid-day .... :o\
Kellogg's is disgusting and horrible. That's why we need it.
Slightly too expensive (for what it is), the food comes out usually looking bad and tasting fine. I have a pretty tolerant stomach, but I always feel pretty funky afterwards.
But who cares, it's Kellogg's. There's a bodega right in the damn diner! Plus nothing else has cheap 24 hour food around here. You could do worse, just bring some Rolaids.
My greasy spoon of choice, Kellogg's Diner is like a little bit of Jersey planted in the middle of Williamsburg. It's open 24 hours, breakfast is served all day, it's cheap, it's fast, it's everything you want in a diner!
That much said, I have had some problems with the service (forgetting part of my order, more than once). Also, it is often crowded during common weekend "brunch" times.
Still, this is a great post-party, breakfast-at-3PM, eggs-any-way-you-want-'em kind of place with an extensive menu so you can find EXACTLY what you're craving. (Yes, they even make a mean California Salad -- cottage cheese plus Jell-O RULES).
I can't speak for the "lunch" and "dinner" selections since I am inclined to order breakfast at any and all hours of the day.

I used to live a few blocks away and went there multiple times a week. the food is fine, its cheap, its a diner. I just loved that it was a few blocks away and open all the time, and the fact that the grocery store/bodega part of it was also open!
Great place to get awful everything at 3am. Score.

ugh.
i paid $12 to wait 45 minutes for the worst salad ever.
now, when you think of a greek salad..... call me crazy.... but what kind of dressing comes to mind? yeah, i got 2 tiny packets of FRENCH. and the waiter never ever came back (ever, the whole time), so i finally just put it on and ate what i could.
everyone else did mildly OK with their food, but i was pissed.
when you have to search someone out in order to pay for your food, you know the service sucks. we should have just left!

The food's greasy and not particularly good here, but Kellogg's has the advantage of being the only real 24-hour diner serving the Lorimer stop area. As such, there are usually 2-3 NYPD cruisers parked outside (although it's unclear as to whether they're in the restaurant or just parked there while patrolling around the Lorimer station). Kellogg's was also one of the few places in the neighborhood open for breakfast the second day of the blackout in 2003, providing ice cold drinks, and their short stack of pancakes will always hold a dear place in my heart for that day. There's a disappointing bodega attached to the side of Kellogg's, there's rarely much point in shopping here with the far superior (and also 24-hour) Hana Food so close nearby.

I would rather starve than eat in this place again... although the food was decent enough and I believe the only restaurant opened all night in the area the place is a dirty pig sty. The last time I ate here I saw a roach crawling on the wall... and my friend found some sort of bug in his food. Never again. Twice is enough.

Everybody picks on Kelloggs but I like it. It's a proper diner, it's open 24 hours, it has a grocery store attached to it and a subway stop downstairs. It's pretty lowbrow, but what's wrong with that?
As far as I'm concerned it's a fine place to get a grilled cheese sandwich at 3 in the morning.

Me and a friend had dinner here before we headed off to Barcade for drinks and video games. Remember that this is a diner that has been around for years and the decor still looks like the places my mother used to take me for fries and root beer floats when I was a kid. The menu was extensive but I played it safe and ordered a feta cheese burger deluxe. Wow! The hamburger arrives with feta cheese layered on the meat AND across the lower bun. The feta was so fresh and the burger cooked just right that it was delicious! I loved the crispy medium width fries that accompanied the burger. They were golden brown and piping hot! All this for just $7.45! Someone asked me at the Yelp event why I sometimes put prices in my reviews. Think about it. Is it not one of the first 3 questions you ask someone when they tell you about a restaurant? Anyway, back to the review. The service was fine and the restaurant appeared clean. Dessert? Of course!! My friend and I split the Banana Royale which was a banana split with 3 large scoops of ice cream, toppings, and whipped cream! It was too much for us to finish after our burgers but at $4.75 who cares if you leave some behind!!

I eat a lot of home fries. I cook a lot of home fries, a lot of different ways. And yet Kellog's had this amazing unplaceable smokiness to them that I've never encountered before, that made me wish I just ordered a big plate of home fries alone. I told one of them this and he seemed unfazed, as if it was not news to him that the rest of the world is so far behind in this regard.
There was a long line when I arrived, but plenty of seating was open at the counter, with enough room to both read my Post and enjoy my eggs.
The convenience-store-within-the-diner is a nice touch, a full-service kind of place for all hours. The ultra-busy staff still takes the time to be polite. A solid diner experience all around.
When you absolutely positively have to have pancakes and sausage at 4:00 in the morning.

I love their turkey burger with swiss. yummy.
The sea-haggieness of some of the wait staff can be tempered,
if they remember you as a decent tipper.
Trust me, they remember.
Jane, most restaurants hate studiers and lingerers.
Try Roebling Tea Room on Metro maybe.
It's really cool.

this place is whack! if youre a student and need to study somewhere with a nice cup of joe, dont even think about coming here! the waitstaff will stare down at you until you leave...the food is not worth it here either...the service sucks and dont even think about telling the waitstaff you have a hair in your food because they will deny the fact that something like that could ever happened....
This place blows. Why do people go here? I think the bodega is getting better, though.
