1 review for Kekaha Kai Beach Park / Kona Coast State Park
This year we managed to find a really good, paved parking space at about 9:00 AM. The short walk down to the beach is very rocky and can be treacherous, but once you're down there, you won't want to come back. The extremely warm water was a glowing aquamarine even up close and a little murky white because of the over-saturation of salt. The waves were soft, even when the got bigger towards noon. Swimming at this beach is like swimming at the pool. For the brave, there is also a huge rock of about 20 feet people jump off of.
The best part about this beach is the sand. The fine sand is soft and easily molded and carved--perfect for building sand castles and turtles.
Although the beach is small and popular, it is not crowded. The bathrooms are really clean, too.
