Review from Mae S.
Ann Arbor, MI
Located near vast tracts of condos and apartments, this center provides a great selection of businesses for locals and temporary tourists at this end of town. Included: large KTA grocery store, Long's Drugs, Ace Hardware, a Cinema, several good restaurants (Royal Thai, Kenichi, a pizza place, a cafe, an ice cream and donut shop) and more. Just DON'T eat at Drysdale's! You'll regret it.
ALSO this shopping center hosts a weekly local farmers' market where real farmers and producers sell fruit, vegetables, coffee, jam, ... and flowers. It's very colorful. When we were there, some young hula dancers were performing. Unfortunately there was no shady spot from which to watch them.
Note: the Wendy's with the million-dollar view appears to have closed. -

A strip mall a little ways from the hardcore tourist area.
There's a drugstore, some mall food eateries, and some lame bars.
I suspect this is where the townies run to get some of their essentials when they're not going to Costco or Wal-Mart. -

A strip mall with Longs Drug Store,L&L Hawaiian BBQ and other stores. It's sorta away from a lot of the tourist that visits downtown Kona. You can find the essential stores here in short. It's a life-saver. But beware because the stores close really early. Ex. Longs Drug Store closes at 6 pm on Sundays.

The KTA grocery store is a great place to stop and pick up a relatively inexpensive lunch...have plate lunches and sushi to go. There are also picnic benches in the shopping center plaza.
