The dry cleaning is decent and always on-time. The owner is very friendly and always recognizes me. My only beef is that I hate that they put my initials on all of my shirts (in out of the way places, of course)
Took some shirts in for dry cleaning:
- the stains were still in there (missed a huge very obvious stain, brought it up and so the lady addressed it and it came out)
- my sweaters came out looking older and fuzzier (has never happened before when I've drycleaned them, managed to keep them in pristine condition until I took them here), one was 80% rayon the other wool I think.
Not recommended at all, not worth it if you like your clothes.
I've been going here for about 3 years now because Nob Hill Cleaners is too expensive and their quality isn't that good. So, off to try something new, and Kay's Cleaners fits the bill. The owner is very friendly, does her own work (I think she works 11 hours a day 6 days a week) and does a great job. Everything is always cleaned and pressed when she says it will be, and if there is still a stain in the clothing she'll fix it. what an awesome lady she is. She has done numerous alterations for me that would have cost at least twice as much somewhere else, jeans suits, etc.
We love, love, love, love Susan. But I'm two-staring the service, at least for the moment. The laundering and dry cleaning is done off site by another service. My laundered shirts have been coming back for the last month or two with the collars improperly folded, creating the dreaded crease-around-the-collar. I'll have a chat with Susan, who we absolutely love if I haven't mentioned it, but if this issue doesn't resolve itself then I'll have to break up with Kay's. Everything else has been spot on (no pun intended!), but I go through dress shirts like my dog goes through puddles--fast, wet, and brown.
Fair prices, reliable service. Susan's friendly and effervescent charm make this a nice place to patronize.
My only qualm? The small tags I find STAPLED onto the bottom hem of all my dress shirts. They can be tough to remove and leave small holes in the shirts; the tag on the inside collar would be a better place for them.

Kay is a really great tailor! The first time I went I had 4 pairs of pants that needed hemming. 2 of them were brand new jeans and I was incredibly reluctant to turn them over to a complete stranger.
Not only did she hem them perfectly and looking almost exactly like the original hem but she also took in a pair of tweed pants that were too belled at the leg and made them straight legged as I asked.
I'm very impressed with her tailoring and will take all my jeans there from now on.
Reasons why we love Susan:
* She speaks Chinese
* My 500 pounds of clothes cost no more than 30 bucks to dry clean
* She let's me pick up my clothes w/o my receipt
* She compliments on how cute my clothes are :)
* She's in MY neighborhood, NOB HILL ROCKS!
* There's a b'fast nook next to the dry cleaners
* Did I mention she speaks Chinese?? Gotta love that! Especially when her place is tiny, feels like I'm back in Asia.

Susan takes care of all my wash & fold and really does an excellent job, plus who doesn't like to get their clothes back smelling great and folded neatly. It would cost me more time & money to do it myself.
Susan, is the asian lady that owns this tiny cafe/cleaners. I drop off my wash-and-fold, dry cleaning, and alterations here. The prices are great, and Susan does a wonderful job. When I'm in a hurry and I need a quick breakfast, I like to get the asiago bagel with lox, sliced onion, tomato, and smear. It hits the spot!
