My BFF has been going to Kendall for many years and I am always envious of how great her hair looks. Although, I was faithful to my hair girl her prices were getting higher and higher...
I finally decided to go to see Kendall since my BFF has always had great results and referred her to me...
Its a small world after all because when I saw Kendall I realized that I had use to work her many many years ago and it was like seeing an old friend again....... I was so impressed to see how far Kendall & Kathy have came along and wowed that they had their own professional salon and spa!!
Kendall did a great job on my hair color and even encouraged me to try a new hair look! I got bangs for the first time and I looked stunning!
I love going to a place where you feel comfortable yet also with the trend..
the salon's decor is very contemporary and seems like it should be in a wealthy area like Walnut Creek or Lafayette..
Kendall is a doll and extremely tentative to your needs.. She very good with color and gives great haircuts..I was stunned when I heard how much everything would be...because I expected it to be a lot more...
the prices are affordable and I simply love their exclusive products!
Unfortunately, I wont be seeing my old hair girl any longer and will continue to go to K&K"s salon!!
P.s. One day my BFF and I made appointments at the same time and while I waited for her to process I got a great massage from the therapist!! She was great and modify the massage to needs! We are definitely doing the double booking again!
I've been getting my hair cut by Kathy for years now and wanted a new style. She worked with me to find a perfect cut for me. I'm so happy!! Kathy is a world class colorist (just ask my greys), and the salon is clean, comfortable and vibrant. I always have a great time there.
Not to be missed is the facial/massage special. I'm not sure when it runs (call), but it is a great deal. The masseuse, Rebecca, works in some stretching which for me makes hers the best massages I've had.
Andrea Delany has been styling my hair for 15 years, and I follow her from place to place. I've moved my review from her former salon to Katherine Kendall where she is now. Nothing has changed, except she's in a cooler spot now:
OK, two Yelpers have commented on my hair without having met me in person, so I guess that means I should Yelp about my stylist. I've been seeing Andrea since 1993 or so, when my hair was longer (shoulder length) and she used to highlight my hair to hide the gray that was making its audacious debut on my 20-something head. Andrea was at Festoon on MLK in Berkeley back then, and she's been my stylist ever since.
Flash forward to my 40s. I've followed Andrea to several salons over the 14 years she's been coifing me. And she does it right. To the point where I now carry her business cards with me because I inevitably get stopped on the street at least 2 or 3 times a month by someone who wants to know who cuts my hair. I've joked with her that I need to start earning a commission on the referrals I send her.
Sure, she does a great job on the short hair, but back when I was wearing the longer locks and coloring them, she did a great job too. I always look forward to my appointment every seven weeks when we catch up, lament about the state of the world, and talk about boys.
So if you book an appointment with Andrea, tell her Lynn Eve sent you and that you saw her reviewed on Yelp!
I've been going to Kendall now for years and have followed her to 3 different salons ! She is an amazing hair stylist and does the best job on color ! I always get a ton of compliments on my highlights. She listens to what you want but at the same time tells you if your crazy and helps you figure out what is best for your hair type. Her and Kathy are awesome chiks who always make you feel wanted and have made a beautiful salon ! They really have made it perfect.
My husband also gets massages from Rebecca.. and highly recommends them. You won't be sorry.

After looking for a place to get my hair cut, a good friend recommended this place to me. Kathy is a great stylist and she listened patiently to what I wanted and what I was willing to do in terms of maintaining the style and gave me the perfect cut that was cute and very easy for me to keep. I myself wasn't clear as to what i wanted but she took my comments and added her own twist to it.
She was easy to talk to and you find yourself smiling and blabbing away your life story while she listens. I have super thick heavy wavy hair but it took her less than an hour to give me a cut that was super stylish and light enough so that my hair looked like it has some bounce to it. Cost of the haircut was pretty good and I would definitely go back.
Also, schedule a massage appointment with Rebecca. Her touch is firm yet comfortable. You know from her very first touch that you're going to have one of the best massages in your life. I was tense before I went in but I was relaxed within minutes and I came out super relaxed and extremely happy.
Would definitely recommend!!
I've followed Kathy through 3 salons and I'm so happy she's finally opened her own place. She and Kendall have made it exactly the kind of place they have been envisioning since I met them. It's a vibrant, clean, fun atmosphere with great services all in one place (Hair, massage and skin care).
I've recommended them whenever possible to friends and even strangers (while getting a manicure), so I figured it was time to Yelp them as well.
If you have curly hair, this is THE place to go to in the Bay area.
I've been a client of Katherine's for almost six years now, and she's taken me from long, to short, back to long again and now that I'm a mommy, back to short. She's also highlighted my hair and brought me back to my natural color. Every time she has her way with my head I luxuriate in weeks of compliments. She's always made my frizzy, finicky and curly hair look fabulous. She is a consummate professional, knowledgeable about her trade and always positive. She will also listen to your needs, whether you are low or high maintenance, and provide a cut that is manageable for your lifestyle. She also uses great products. I am afraid of moving too far 'cause I wouldn't trust my hair to anyone else!
I haven't had the pleasure of working with Kendall or any of the other lovely and friendly staff at this salon, but I'm hoping I can get a massage here soon. The salon itself is beautiful, super clean and very comfortable.
So Andrea Delaney is a MASTER hairstylist! She just cut my naturally curly hair to perfection & colored it exactly how I wanted it. Andrea also holds a great conversation with you & really understands what it is you want even if your not clear. I have NEVER been so impressed by a hair stylist & I have seen quite a few. I highly recommend her if you have naturally curly hair & are worried about someone butchering your hair or for any type of hair. Also, Rebecca the massage therapist is AWESOME, she does a fantastic job & leaves you feeling like you are walking on clouds. They have half price Fridays on massage & facials right now so give them a call.

I highly recommend Katherine Kendall Salon and Spa! I have been a long time client of Kathy's and have sent many friends her way! She has done beautiful things with my hair! Along with the friendly warm vibes from all of the girls, the ambiance of the salon is clean and relaxing.
I've been following Irene (the house skin therapist) from salon to salon. She's fantastic, professional, knowledgeable and very likable! I'll return again and again...
This salon is truly as good as it gets. Kathy and Kendall are both amazing stylists, both hair and makeup. I have been going to Kathy for about 3 years now and I have always been more than elated with the results!! Kathy recently did my hair and makeup for my wedding and I couldn't be happier. She listened to my input and mixed with her own, I had a look that was perfect for my day. You can't go wrong at this salon, whether you need your hair done, makeup done, a facial or a massage this is the place to go.
The salon itself is gorgeous. The professionalism and warmth that you feel when you enter is second to none. Whatever you could wish for they have available and make it their utmost concern to keep you happy and comfortable throughout your grooming experience.
Katherine Kendall Salon and Spa has a lot going for it. Aside from offering a range of services - hair cuts to massage - KK is more than competently staffed. Everyone really knows what they are doing and they have fun while doing it. (Okay, the massage was more of a completely relaxing experience than it was fun, but you catch my drift).
I first went to Kathy to step up my outdated college hair. As a dood, I've never really spent more than $11 bucks on a hair cut - which sufficed in college. I basically gave Kathy full reign over my hair and suddenly realized what I had been missing this whole time: awesome hair. Well worth it!
Honestly, these women are talented and professional as well as friendly and funny. The kind of place you look forward to going.

i came here through the advice of fellow yelpers...and unlike my first expereince at steve's auto body shop...this was fantastic!
i needed a haircut bad. i knew i wanted to go someplace professional. so money wasn't that big of a problem for me. i went in on saturday afternoon, and i was about to cancel my appointment because i had no car to get to the salon, but luckily katherine was able to squeeze me in while i found a car.
when i entered i was greeted right away by katherine. she was very friendly and had such a poistive vibe right away. i loved the salon! the place is very modern and chic. katherine and i had a great conversation about my hair. she was giving me advice on what i can do with my hair such as hairstyles and color options. during my time there i wasn't bored at all! i felt like i was with one of my girlfriends and we were just talking up a storm!! she is very friendly and professional...i think i have found my new salon on the east bay!!
if you are looking for a good quality salon that is professional this is the place..i am sure you will never regret it!
Awsome salon. These two girls (Kathy, Kendall) know what they are doing with hair. They take their time to know what you want and give you advice if you need it. But they also have this amazing massage therapist. She knows how to work all those kinks and stressed out muscles. But wait you can get your make up done here and get your facials as well as your waxing. Over all the entire salon is super cute, relaxed and has wonderful customer service. You guys rock!
